This has become my favorite nail salon in Charleston. It's very clean, the nail technicians are all friendly and talented, and it's easy to get an appointment because they have a lot of employees. They also take walk ins. I have gotten the jelly pedicure (one of their packages) a few times and enjoyed it but it is a little expensive for the packet they add in. Good experience until the end. No drying system For nails. Technician told me to sit for 10 minutes for nails to dry. I Sat there twenty minutes or longer waiting to dry . The polish was not set good when I left and then I nicked the nail getting in car. I inquired if they had a drying table and the response was no, those tables only dried the top layer. They are fast, usually can get you in quickly. I don't love the shape of my nails and they all look a little bit off, they also are more expensive than the place I usually go in Mt. This was the only nail salon Ive used for the past five years. when I had more money, I'd tip more. When I had less money, I still tipped at least 18%. I went in for a fill-in today. For Mother's day I wanted to feel a little glossy, and my manicure had grown out so I only needed a fill-in. I chose the service, thinking it might save me money because I'm in a frugal season. Gas is $5 now, you know?! I was seen immediately which is good, but I guess I understand why they're able to get me in so fast: they get clients out faster. My technician rushed thru my service, did just one layer, very thin. I still looked like I had at least a weeks worth of growth on my nails. I get to the register and it's $56, NOT including the tip. So I paid nearly $80 for a FILL IN!!!!!!! And it WASNT EVEN DONE WELL. I was nauseated when I looked at the price menu and found it cost LESS for a whole set of ACRYLICS. And again, he DID ONE LAYER. It'll last me maybe one week and then what?!! $80 for ONE WEEK? I'm so disappointed. I never felt so scammed by this spot but I guess they thought maybe doing it thin would get me back in the chair faster for more services. My life doesn't work that way. Today I went in for the third time to lavish nail spa to get a gel fill and pedicure, as well as a child polish change for my daughter who is five years old. This is my third time bringing my business to this nail spa, and I do highly recommend them as far as technicians who do good service. Buyers beware however, I was charged $174.50 (plus tip which I always like to leave a good tip)... this is the second time I feel I have been exorbitantly overcharged by the owner of the spa, they hide in all kinds of fees for simple things like the shape of the nails. Today, I did not get any extra length in fact, I just had them filed down slightly and asked him to do a thin layer of acrylic because last time they were way too thick, when I told the owner that this wasn't right, he said that the shaping of the nails as well as slightly cutting them down less than a millimeter was worthy of charging me the extra $20-$30. This is outrageous, who in their right mind would charge a good paying customer extra money for a simple shape, especially when it's the same shape or the nails are even shorter from when we came in? I asked him I told him that it was not correct and he rudely stuck to his guns on the issue. I highly recommend the technicians Christopher and Jessica if you happen to go in there, however, I do not think I will be coming back ever again because now I have spent over $600 in three visits here and it is amazing to me that an owner of a business can feel good about overcharging a mother close to Mother's Day unnecessary fees for services that should be obviously included in the price of a gel fill. Please, Charleston... Tell me who, in their right mind charges for filing the nail on a gel fill service, which is already very expensive? I would rather spend my business with other people or businesses who are grateful for the customers and who do not charge hidden unnecessary fees. Also, we were there less than 40 minutes, which is proof of the fact that nothing extra was done in this service. The last time I came, I had a different technician, and when I told him that the nails were too thick for my liking, he rolled his eyes inside heavily, so I decided to leave it alone and left feeling slightly unsatisfactory. Today I came back to give it another try and I was overcharged, in total about $40... which never feels good, especially not for a repeat customer who tips well and who has been a good client. I really like my pedicures here. I will continue to come back. I just want to warn you about the appointment times that might not be kept. It's really hard to plan when you have a busy schedule. I have been here 3 times for pedicures. The first time I was a walk in and was told it might be best to book for now own due to how busy they are. The last two times I have booked and my preferred person has not been available at the time I arrived. The first time I waited almost an hour and the second time almost 15 minutes. Terrible quality. First time going here I got my toes done with gel polish before vacation and one day later, the polish on one toe was completely gone. Next day, three were gone. By the third day after my pedicure, my entire right foot was unpolished. Since I was out of town, I went back the following Sunday and asked if they could fix the paint considering I paid extra for gel so that it would stay on. They told me I'd have to pay full price, then eventually offered me $20 to "paint over" what else was on. I had pictures proving and my receipt but they did not seem to care. Clean, relaxing and good amount of time to do mani and pedi. 3 day "fix" service for any issues was nice. BASIC Gel manicure was thinly applied and thinning and dimpled towards the edges of my nails. I prefer a thicker application. I asked for a few more coats but only was given 1 additional coat, I maybe should have specified how many. Satisfied with the color and cuticle cleaning. I asked for a bit of a thicker French tip & was charged $16 for a "design" I asked for short nails & asked to go shorter when being shaped & I feel like the technician didn't listen to what I asked for. I wasn't told of the price up charge for gel polish, which other salons I've been to charge $8-$10 for gel polish. Another $15 for gel at this place. Very unsure if I will be back. Gave it two tries as I just moved over from Mount Pleasant where they do not act rude and controlling to their clients!! Only good thing to say about this place is the cleanliness. Other than that, I had a gentleman spend no more than 10 minutes on my dip manicure. One solid color on my nails and it was 60$!!!??? No cuticle cleanup, no soaking to take off previous nails.... I thought this was outrageous given he literally spent less than 10 minutes on them. Too expensive!!!!!!! My daughter went in to get her nails done and walked out with a $70 bill!!!!!!! Her friends were charged $80 and $90. They did not tell them any of the charges. Just showed them gel polish and chaged and extra $15. Did not tell them that if they changed the color on each nail they would an charged a $5 fee and additional for each shade she changed. So quickly the $38 full set turned into a $70 set. They did not explain anything and just kept running up the bill. Super clean upon entering, wine and beverages offered. Tons of great colors for sns and regular polish. I had Elvis doing my SNS manicure and Emily doing my pedicure - $45 for a paraffin signature pedicure, which is an incredible deal and both services were PERFECT. Massage chair was comfortable and relaxing, I normally don't even like having my manicure done while my pedicure is being done simultaneously, but they made it so seamlessly relaxing I barely noticed.
