It seemed like a win win, for both me and the business. As I'm sure they hope that adopters will choose to continue to bring their pets here. Our first visit in January, I got the time of the appointment wrong. I showed up late! The woman at the desk, I believe her name was Ashley was vey kind to me as I apologized profusely. She quickly made me a new appointment. Next time we saw Dr. Franko and ended up getting a shot for allergies. The doctor was pleasant and answered all my questions. I must admit I was surprised when the Vet Tech took my furbaby into the back to administer the procedure. I would have preferred that I was present in the same room. Yesterday about six weeks later, we're here for another allergy shot and medicated shampoo. The tech who came out was very stoic and just called my dog's name, never greeted me and promptly took him to "the back". I was surprised by the total amount of the bill. When I inquired about it, the young lady said the allergy shots went up $20 "about two weeks ago". She also mentioned a credit/debit card fee...only when I inquired. No one ever mentioned this at the 1st visit. All of us pet owners know that caring for our babies needs can be pricey. And personally, I do what I must to keep my furbaby healthy. However, I would prefer to be made aware in advance as to how much I will be spending. This goes a long way in helping me make informed decisions about his care. Especially if the prices were raised without any kind of notification. Prices aside, I left there last night confused. The people there didn't seem to enjoy their work. No greeting us, no smiles. Everyone seemed robotic. The no cost exam was certainly an incentive to get me to come in. Unfortunately, the feeling I left there with yesterday will not have me return.

Animal Lifeline Corporation, Inc. in Bellmore, NY is a non profit, tax exempt 501(c)3 animal…read morerescue incorporated in 1977 for the purpose of aiding the animals. Their mission is to save and home as many cats and dogs as possible. This an extraordinary animal rescue. I have been in the cat rescue circle for over 20 years and have worked with many rescues through my website, and volunteer for a local rescue. Over the years I have heard glowing reports about Animal Lifeline Corporation but never knew anyone there as they are on Long island and I am in Brooklyn. About a month ago the president of Animal Lifeline Corporatipn contacted me and asked if I would make them a web site which I agreed to do. (http://animal-lifeline-corp.com ) It was only then that I learned just how good they are. To begin with, they are one of the very few rescues that does not ask for an adoption fee. All they ask for is a donation of whatever you can afford. This is very unusual. Most rescues have high adoption fees. What this says to me is that the animals are more important than money, and the concern of Animal Lifeline is to find them good homes. They do not have a shelter and do not take in pets that people no longer want. They rescue strays from the streets and have several fosters who take care of them. Animal Lifeline Corp is very active with their TNR program. After trapping and vetting (which includes spay/neutering, checking for diseases, and other medical care) some ferals will always remain feral. These animals are returned to their original sites and fed and monitored. By curtailing the breeding cycles they greatly help to reduce the appalling number of strays killed in local shelters. I'd give this group 10 Stars if I could!
