I love East Beach! It's so beautiful and feels more secluded than popular touristy beaches like Narragansett. It's a further drive but well worth it for a day of peaceful beach-going! There are many families here too.

Ask the Community - East Beach

How's the camping? It says they have like 20 spots?

I do not believe there is overnight camping there. check with the Charlestown Breachway beach

OK, so you do need to get an off road pass as well as the RI state beach pass which will cost you 100$ for the off road and 60$ for the beach pass...

The parking is expensive for a town beach and the lot is not too big, so with luck, you should be able to find a place to park. The town beach has a nice bathroom/shower area that closes at 5- but it's really nice & they offer free sunscreen (was empty)! They have Del's (thankfully) posted up on the corner which is nice & you can also order from a few nearby restaurants however we brought a cooler so I just grabbed us 3 small watermelon dels when we needed to cool down. The water was beautiful I am talking turquoise in areas & so refreshing- NO RED TIDE (which has literally been at nearly every single beach I've gone to this summer) and the rocks weren't as bad as the other beaches- so that's a plus! They're a private town beach- think very similar to Narragansett Beach- but instead of a cove you get the real deal ocean! They're a also an amazingly easy way to get to this beach- if you're from Northern RI- like I am- BACK ROADS & the ride was pretty amazing although not from my 6 year old's standpoint! The surf was a little rough- hence the red flag- but the way this beach is set up- you can easily watch your kids while they dig in the sand or play in the water! The sand was soft and perfect for kids! My son had a blast! Overall I was amazed at the cleanliness and simplicity of this small town beach & it could be my new favorite - in terms of beaches I go to. We will be back on the 25th and 26th of August as we rented a Cabin At Burlinggame camp ground- as one last hoorah for my son! Can't wait to come back!

This beach is wayyyy less crowded than the other RI public beaches and has lots of parking, a concession/food stand, bathrooms, and some merchandise for sale. The parking is only $7 for RI residents on the weekend and the parking line is very quick. Also, for the beach-o-holics like me, you can even purchase a beach pass online for all RI public beaches for $30 for the summer season...well worth it if your a frequent beach bum like me! It will save you some money if you go to the beach more than 4x in the summer season. There's usually tons of open spots on the beach to lay your beach blanket down, in your own secluded area - I love being in my own space so this was a huge perk! I took my 8yr old nephew here to enjoy a summer day in little Rhody on the weekend and he loved the swing set... we even purchased a sand bucket at the beach from a local vendor to keep him busy playing in the sand. I'll definitely be back...like literally every hot sunny summer weekend ! Love it here !

(Just being honest) prices are great just $6 for resident parking, lots of spaces, your car won't be crammed into a spot. Not a long walk from parking to beach. Food is decent.. the kids (well young adults) who work here are so friendly, which you don't find anywhere anymore. Sand is soft and beautiful, water is clear, not rocky or any seaweed.. waves are just enough.. peaceful, fun but won't over power you.
