ECWG is one of the best clinics that I have been to. I went there during my entire pregnancy and after for postpartum care and birth control. Not only were my doctor, the medical assistants, nurses and front desk ladies all extremely helpful, they had an attitude that made you feel like they actually cared. I do want to give two shout outs for Dr. Megan Smith and Nurse Lauren. I fully believe that Nurse Lauren saved my baby's life by sending me to the birthing center when my NST was coming out weird, and Dr. Smith had me prepped for a c section within an hour. I will always come back for any future needs. read more

Do not go here if you are seeking help for perimenopause. I have been going to ECWG for 9 years. They cared for me during both of my pregnancies and I didn't have any problems, it was fine care - not great but I never left there crying. Today I did. The steady decrease in quality of care from when I was pregnant to postpartum to perimenopausal was shocking. They failed to diagnose me with PPD after my first child was born. They did diagnose me with it and prescribed meds after my second child was born. My routine exams after pregnancy were fine until I turned 40. Then all of a sudden I want to talk about HRT and perimenopause because it's excrutiating to deal with and the first NP said I just needed to deal with my symptoms. Basically "suck it up". I asked for another provider who after some convincing, agreed to give me HRT. She was very rude and cold to me. The second time I saw her she literally barely looked at me, never smiled, gave me one word answers and seemed so disinterested. I asked her if there were any foods or exercises I could do to help alleviate my symptoms and she straight up said "No," I called and complained about her, receptionist was just as rude. Then finally I got a third NP she was the worst of them all. Barely greeted me, stone cold face and demeaner, one word answers and dirty looks!! IS THIS THE TWILIGHT ZONE?!!! I'm still a human being who deserves care even though I'm not making babies anymore. What ever happened to compassion and care? The disinterest all of these healthcare "professionals" show is quite alarming. I could and do get more helpful information from Google and Midi Health. After being a patient at ECWG for almost a decade, today was the last time I step foot in that office. Run as fast as you can away from this place. If you are not going to birth a child, you do not matter. read more

If I could go anywhere else, I would! I've had doctors no show on me. I have shown up to scheduled appointments for the staff to look at each other surprised why I am there and send me home. I have called to ask for help with medication or for a medical question and the nurses do not answer and they do not call back. Most recently I ended up at Urgent Care because no one would answer the phone or call me back and I didn't want to jeopardize my health. At the actual clinic, the doctors and other practitioners are friendly when you deal with them directly, but the administration and management is a NIGHTMARE. I have, at times, chosen to drive all the way to Portland to see doctors there because I get treatment much faster. For example, I needed a polyp removed and first ECWG wanted me to have a "meet and great" with the surgical doctor (why? I'm already an established patient) and then wait still more weeks for my procedure. I was in enormous pain! Yet I waited and The doctor no showed at my appointment. I was told he had an emergency but he never called later or the next day or at all. A few days later I called and they said they'd call me back with an appointment. Finally another two weeks later they called to put me on the schedule for the meet and greet. I had already been to Portland and back and had the procedure before EXWG could call me back! read more

We moved during my second trimester and was so pleased with the care at ECWG. I saw Dr. Gage and she was amazing, we had some complications during my pregnancy, and she made me at ease. She is funny, makes you comfortable, but also very attentive to any questions/needs you have. I ended up having an c-section by Dr. Smith and thought she was great as well. The office was always able to get me in in a timely manner, and the front desk was helpful and professional. The billing team is also nice. I am always surprised to hear of bad experiences. We have moved a lot and out of three OB offices, this is the best. read more

I recently went here for a specific issue and Dr. Hulbert was so kind, caring, and thorough! I really felt she took the time to get to know me and a ask all the right questions. Con's: Lack of communication between their office & my doctor, had to fill out 3 different forms of paperwork before my appointment (they need to get w/ the modern times when it comes to health history & have that be done online instead of hand written) they wanted me to do the paperwork again when I got there , I waited 2 months just to have an appointment I asked to be put on a waitlist to get in sooner but I had to stay w/ the time they originally gave me. Pro's: I didn't have to wait long to see Dr Megan Smith yesterday, she was super friendly & easy to talk to when she was inserting the IUD for me. I came to this clinic for my third pregnancy. I have experienced so many issues with these OBGYNs and receptionists. One issue is not being able to see my OBGYN on a regular basis. She has gone on vacation for weeks without informing me. Which has caused cancelled appointments. Receptionists have double scheduled appointments which resulted in my appointments being cancelled. I had an appointment cancelled 10 minutes before it began because my OBGYN was busy and was asked to come back 5 hours later. I told the scheduler that will not work as I live an hour away from the clinic and the snow/ice was getting too bad to stick around town. I was told that I was not being cooperative. Another issue is not being heard. I am aware of various medical practices, conditions, vital signs and medications as I am medically licensed in Oregon. I have taken my and my unborn child's medical care into my own hands due to cancelled appointments and lack of medical care. I have experienced signs and symptoms of preeclampsia yet nothing has been done. I also have a history of preeclampsia. I have experienced decreased fetal movement for the past 4 weeks with no concern from my OBGYN. I am very unwell at 39 weeks pregnant. I cannot adequately eat, I am in pain, I am chronically fatigued, my baby is not adequately moving. I saw a different OBGYN at this clinic and was told I would have an induction done between December 25-28. When I heard back from the birthing center I was scheduled for an induction for later in January (past my due date). I was again dismissed. I am worried for the safety and care of myself and my baby. read more

Dr. Burke is amazing. Took care of me during my geriatric pregnancy, and delivery. Was always so thorough, she explained reasoning behind every recommendation and provided the collaborative care I wanted throughout the process. She helped me to feel empowered and prepared for all possible outcomes. I knew I was in good hands! My cesarean was perfect! Zero pain. Will definitely see her for my future care and planned hysterectomy. read more

Bad bedside manner & not much care. If you're all aglow with the news of being pregnant, for the love of all that's good and holy, seek care elsewhere than East Cascade Women's Group. I have had better experience getting a root canal than my experience with all three pregnancies that I had in the care of this group. First pregnancy, I saw the Dr. Wheir rarely during the entire pregnancy. My only memory of her was during the initial visit and a brief phone call after my abrupt delivery. So she never really even delivered my baby. Still I have never met a less suitable person caring for pregnant women. Very cold, not personable, kinda standoffish. A fish in the freezer has more warmth than she does. She didn't seem like she is suited at all personality wise to her profession. Second pregnancy, I had her again. I ended up with a miscarriage during the first trimester. I had to have an emergency D&C. I met her afterwards. And there she was, the same cold demeanor. I don't think she could even muster a sincere expression of empathy throughout the visit. The words were there but the delivery was colder than the sterile room where I had the procedure done. That time she promised Third pregnancy, didn't see her at all. Her name was written on all the orders though and prescriptions. Apparently, she was my doctor even though she had seen neither head nor hair of mine throughout the whole experience. Every order, every concern, you had to be on top of things with the office otherwise, you would be left by the wayside because of how "busy" they are. My overall complaint would have to be the way things are done at the office. High risk pregnancies apparently mean nil with them because even when they know you are that, the care is the same as with normal pregnancies. I had to plead about getting progesterone. My last ultrasound results were bad apparently but they still made me wait until the end of the day to get back to me, even though I did the ultrasound at opening of the facility where I had it done. The woman I talked to gave me the bad news my baby did not grow in the two weeks since my last ultrasound. She told me no heartbeat and no growth mean my baby is not viable. In the next breath, she told me she could schedule me for an appointment with their office to take care of getting it "flushed out." Or if I wanted, I could opt to just take medication since I was early enough that I might not need to do the office procedure at all. What sort of office does not train their staff to have better bedside manners than that? It's supposed to be an office where women who presumably go there are assumed to actually want their babies. I might not be far along as others are but I am emotionally and psychologically attached to the life growing inside me. You do not tell someone hormonal to schedule a visit to flush the baby out in the next breath after you've told her bad news about her pregnancy. I also really just felt like a ball that got passed along to whoever was available at the moment. I was never exclusively in someone's care. I honestly think it is because they go with patients that are sure things, who will go through the delivery, where the big bucks are. They do not want to deal with the straggly ones who have issues during the first trimester and might have miscarriages. If you do not fit that demographic, the care and the bedside manner are deplorable. They're not outright rude to you. Sure there is no eye rolling or stuff like that. But you can tell when someone really genuinely cares for your condition and the issues you're having. They sort of have a detached care. The nurse practitioner who did the first ultrasound for me hurried throughout the whole process and seemed antsy about leaving the room as soon as possible. The whole procedure lasted ten minutes maybe. Fifteen is being very generous. And that's with me offering information and asking questions. I even had to tell her my pregnancy history and that I was high risk because she went in there with no clue who I was, what my history was, and that I was high risk. The quality nurse manager actually told me they usually won't let you see a doctor until you're 10-12 weeks along because they do not know if your pregnancy is going to take. When I complained to the woman who called me to tell me results of my HCG blood draw about not even seeing a doctor at all yet and issues with regards to hearing back from people, she apologized that I felt that way. Simply put, a non-apology. She obviously believed there was nothing wrong with how the office had handled things throughout the whole pregnancy. Simply put, there is better care out there. Do not settle for feeling the way I did throughout three pregnancies. I was pretty much alone with no one to make assurances or set expectations on every step of the process. You deserve better. And you will get it somewhere else. read more

I really hated this place. This was my first pregnancy, and though I had a good pregnancy and delivery, I had a terrible experience with east cascade. I had dr strom who never takes the time of day to listen to your concerns or answer questions. This being my first, I had a lot of questions and ended up finding my answers elsewhere rather than with my own dr. She never listened while I talked and would even ask me the same questions twice as she stared at her computer. Not personal there at all. The billing also got all screwed up and I was majorly overcharged on my credit card, this took over a month to get settled and it's impossible to hear the ladies with billing as they work from home and the connection always seemed hard to hear. I will be going to a different clinic next time around. read more

Let me just start by saying I had the worst experience here. Nothing can be scarier than early Pregnancy for a first time mom. If you get Katie Farnsworth for any part of your care- I strongly urge you to request someone else. From the beginning she lead me to believe my pregnancy wouldn't last. She told me my hcg levels were too low and baby's heart rate too slow. When I got a Second opinion from actual doctors they saw nothing wrong with my numbers. Every phone call she made was insensitive and lacked an ounce of positivity. But every ultrasound I had at CORA was perfect. I decided to take my care to Central Oregon Ob/Gyn and my pregnancy is going perfectly not to mention the amazing and considerate care of every person there from front desk to doctor. I had a scheduled visit with this clinic, unfortunately I had a miscarriage and was unable to attend. The Nurse and the person who answers the phone was very kind and provided me information. Dr. Champer on the other hand showed no remorse and immediately went straight to scheduling an appointment with someone who specializes in helping push the miscarriage forward. I called another office for a 2nd opinion and although I still had the miscarriage they were very kind and told me things to look out for, what to do if certain things happened. I did not get any of that from Dr.Champer. I know someone else who also experienced the lack of bed side manners from her. Disappointing. read more

They are assuming things and discriminating against me because of my age. They don't follow through with approving referrals. They refused to communicate with me and provide care. read more

I had surgery with Dr. Carlson and the entire experience was great. I'm not sure where the office staff complaints are coming from, I was there for multiple visits and had no problems with any of the staff and my wait times were short. My only complaint would be that their building is difficult to find. Apple maps tries to make you turn one road too early, and even when you find the correct road, their sign in positioned in a way that is difficult to see. read more

I had Dr. Gage for my first pregnancy and it was a terrible experience. She didn't seem to care at all about me or the baby, front desk and nurses were super rude all 9 months and when it was time to deliver she didn't come or look in on us for the 2 weeks we were in the hospital after. When I called to get checked for postpartum depression she told me my insurance didn't cover mental health(which was bs because I called them to check). Basically I'm writing this because that experience was traumatizing and I wouldn't want anyone else to feel that way. read more

I saw Dr. Gage for my pregnancy and delivery and it was such a great experience! Dr. Gage is always so kind, helpful and considerate. She always made me comfortable and gave us great personalized care. I ended up having to to have a cesarean section and Dr. Gage made me feel safe and in good hands the whole time. She is a great surgeon! I would recommend her to anyone! Also her office staff was great and I never had to wait more than 10min to get in. In 2019, I called ECWG after finding out I was expecting my first and was paired with Dr Gage as my OBGYN. I cannot imagine going through pregnancy without her, especially given some unexpected health challenges early in the first trimester of my pregnancy. My first was delivered by Dr Howell who matched the support and guided me through a long delivery. Postpartum with my first was very challenging for me and I was met with extreme compassion by Dr Gage during the postpartum period. Within 1 year we found out another kiddo was on the way and I could think of no one better than ECWG to support my pregnancy. While it could sometimes be a challenge to make appointments, Dr Gage and staff were always quick to call back to talk about my concerns and medical questions. Many of the nurses and staff recognized me and were friendly each visit. I always felt like myself and my children were a priority. Dr Gage also has guided and supported me through other medical diagnosis since the birth of my 2 children- I could not imagine trusting anyone more than I trust her. Although I don't want anymore kids, I wish I was pregnant so that I could see Dr Gage more regularly. read more

I have been going to ECWG for the last 5 years as my husband and I have been trying to grow our family. I chose Dr Gage when I first made an appointment and she has been amazing. She's seen me through several miscarriages, a couple procedures, infertility treatment, etc. and has been so supportive throughout. She is always happy to answer my numerous questions, and if she doesn't know an answer right away she's happy to look into it. She's always followed up with me when she says she will. It's wonderful to have a doctor who I feel actually remembers me and cares about my health and family. read more

1. Front desk staff is extremely rude. Scheduling is super difficult. I called at 4 weeks along and they earliest they could find any opening was 12 weeks. When asked why I had to wait so long they said, "it's just easier for us and we want to make sure you're really actually pregnant". After each visit I'd go to schedule my next for 4 weeks later and every date that week or time I suggested they were booked. I would have to wait a few weeks for a nurse to authorize my appointment. 2. The nurses and ob always acted like they were in a HUGE hurry. Any question I asked was stupid and any corner they could cut they would. For example at 15 weeks they brought me back after I waited 40 minutes, started taking my blood pressure as I was still sitting down and finished3 seconds. Then they checked for the heart beat with a Doppler. After trying for 5 seconds she said, "must be too early to find" and handed me a flier for a medical imaging place as she rushed out. They also never did a single urine test because it "wasn't necessary". This is my 3rd baby so I knew better than to think this was normal. 3. Overall, I just felt like a little number on a list and not a human with feelings. read more

I see Dr. Gage for my women's health needs and I adore her! She has fantastic bedside manner, incredibly smart and caring. I trust her completely and she makes me feel so comfortable in the room. Dr. Gage is my Obstetrician for my twin pregnancy- she has the best bedside manner and I really feel safe in her care, she knows what she is doing! It helps knowing that 1.5 years ago she delivered my nephew via emergency C-section due to complications and she got him out just in time (less than 10 minutes after she showed up at the hospital bleeding) and my sister had an easy recovery and her incision is not noticeable at all, she even says she'd have a c section with Dr. Gage again if she had another baby! I feel like Dr. Gage always takes the time to answer my questions at appointments, I would recommend her to all my friends, pregnant or not! read more

East Cascade purposely misfiled my insurance for my routine prenatal appointments, billing them each time as hospital visits. The were rude and dismissive. When I tried to work with them to correct the issue and had to go to the state to have it corrected. I even felt they didn't give me the time of day at my visits and automatically had me partake in making expensive procedures without discussing benefits or costs first. The care about the bottom line, not the patient. read more
