East Coast Appliance has been a total disappointment and I would avoid buying here at all costs!…read more The story begins with my husband and I needing a new refrigerator for our summer rental. The ice maker was no longer working in our old refrigerator. We went to East Coast Appliance in search for a new one. We repeatedly reiterated to the salesperson that we needed a refrigerator that would make lots of ice because of the number of the people in summer rental every week. The salesperson told us he had just what we needed. He insisted the refrigerator he showed us would make lots of ice. No worries he said. We even commented how large and how perfect the large compartment was at the bottom of the fridge that we thought was for ice. Our salesperson should have corrected us if it was not a compartment for "refrigerator made ice". We purchased the fridge and had it delivered the next day. We had to return home immediately following, the next day delivery, so we didn't get to check out how much ice it made until 3 weeks later when we returned. We were totally surprised when we found out it wasn't making any ice except what came of the outside door where the water output is! We were even more shocked when we called to find out how to get the ice machine working that there wasn't one offered with the model we purchased. After multiple calls trying to speak to our salesperson, we were told that the model we purchased does not even have freezer ice maker. According to our salesperson and his associate we were told that no kitchen-aide refrigerator has a freezer ice freezer maker-WHAT?!? We wanted to return this new unused "no ice-making" refrigerator and so we went to the store to confront and resolve this issue. We were told that it was too late to return the refrigerator and there was nothing they could do about it. They did not give us any way to resolve this issue other than buying a new refrigerator. Needless to say, we are not happy with this establishment and do not recommend their business.

Within a month, it was loose under the counter. I could slide it in and out, making it hard to close the door so we could run it. I called ECA multiple times and got the runaround. One person told me to call the service department, and when I finally reached someone there, I was told I would have to pay the installation fee again to have them come out and fix their mistake. I'm still waiting for Zach from the VB location to call me back, since he's never there when I call. I'm not holding my breath at this point. If you decide to buy from them, get someone else to install it, or be aware that customer service isn't really a thing there.

Okay first off, the countless images of "Ollie" hanging everywhere creep me out…read more Now that that's out of the way, allow me to begin my review. The claims of "cheap" stuff are only that.. claims. Just the condition of the store was questionable, as it seemed most stuff was just scattered around, aimlessly. There wasn't much I found to get, which was somewhat disappointing. It felt like a cross between Kmart, Rose's, Big Lots, Dollar General and your typical dingy little outlet store you see in 90s movies. The only thing I ended up with was a light blue bath towel. It's not bad, but I will admit that it's the only bath towel I own that had mystery stains on it after the first use. It's like it bleached itself. I didn't do anything different with it and it still rebelled for some reason. I'm not blaming Ollie's specifically, but it's still something to be aware of if you're in the market for one. Service wasn't bad during my visit. I would check other locations before I'd make a definite conclusion on the chain. However, in regards to this one?.. It's a "meh" at best.

With only one cashier on a Saturday, the checkout line wrapped the interior of a very busy store. It took almost an hour for me just to checkout. Additionally the one cashier was a very old woman who moved soooooo slowly (not her fault), so that's why it took so long - the wait for checkout was so long, several people gave up and went to the nearby Dollar Tree.

I brought the microwave to them to save the service fee but good to know it's an option if I need it. Once they inspected it, they called back a day or so later and gave me an estimate. Said replacing one part was definitely needed but possibly an additional part as well but wouldn't know for sure till they completed the first repair. It took about a week for the part to come in and two days or so to do the repair. Being cynical, I assumed the more expensive repair would be needed. Lo and behold, they said the second repair wasn't necessary! The honesty was refreshing and definitely earned my business going forward for future appliance repairs. It does take a little longer since they seem to have to order parts for most repairs(?). If you don't need it right away and can bring it to them, I doubt you will find a better price.

They never charged labor, or add trip charge. Also B&R is local. They made a mistake. Unfortunately it was the nuclear problem of a board going out on just a 5 year machine. Both repair techs were super nice too! However, they did not wear nothing over shoes and tracked inside. Would I trust B&R? 100%. Their trip charge is $30, or so less than competitors. Hourly labor also less. 3.5 rounding down with delay and ultimately the need to purchase a new machine elsewhere.
