They showed up on time, worked professionally and cleaned up at the end of the day. Whole job took 3 days, and they even replaced all the patio furniture on the last day. The final product was precisely what I asked for, done in a high-quality, workmanlike way. H&G are not the cheapest guys out there, but for the extra money you get a professional product, professionally executed, on time, on budget. Honestly: I don't think it gets any better than that.

There were many problems that were coming up on an inspection report when we went to sale it, but finding someone we could trust to do repairs, and being 2k miles away, was something we dreaded. Searching the Internet I read about Boone's background and work ethic and something told me to take a chance on him. Yes! We were not disappointed in any way. The new roof, fascia/eaves, and repairs on a deck that some other guys had totally botched, were completed by Boone's Home Repair in just a few days. Communication with us during the project start to finish was excellent and put us at ease. He sent daily pictures of the work and when our realtor went out to check on the property he was so impressed with Mr. Boone that he said he definitely wanted to keep in touch and hire him for other projects on his properties. Mr. Boone also took care of choosing a shingle that matched the old roof and coordinating the trim colors; he definitely has an eye for aesthetics. Basically, we were able to just tell him what was needed and he took charge from there. That's exactly what we needed with being long distance! As for pricing, his bid was very reasonable and fair. I contracted with this company to renovate an existing deck by adding addition support and new…read morecomposite decking. In general the job was done fairly well but not in line with the way it was described to me. Howard, the owner, said on day 1 that the worksite would be kept tidy and magnets would be used to pick up screws/nails - these things didn't occur to my satisfaction. While Howard was away tending to a family emergency, the crew seemed to knock off early and not leave the job site as they expected. Regarding the final construction- the decking was done well despite some challenges, as were the joist replacements. The additional support beams were completed with what might be called "old school" techniques, which was OK, but many of the beams (2x8) didn't physically contact the joists above, negating the intended purpose meaning those beams weren't supporting the joist above. This also made me wonder if the beams were jacked up as was described to me (in order to ensure the supports were carrying a load). I had to install shims myself to account for this (in addition to cleaning up refuse and construction materials such as screws around the deck and on our driveway during the job). In summary, the crew/company put in a great deal of effort but fell short on some key aspects.
