I I have been coming to this Santee Dental office for just over a year and I have been very pleased with the entire staff, from Michelle out front, Donna when I needed a better understanding of their billing, Dr. A in his amazing skill at numbing me up with barely any pain at all (which is just what I need), removing and replacing crowns (yes, multiple crowns) to Lanea with her skill at ensuring my crowns fit absolutely perfectly before Dr. A comes and installs it. I will never forget how this place took advantage of me. Don't let the reviews for you. They have changed their name several times within the last five years to get rid of all of the negative reviews that they have. Let me elaborate for the people who have a hard time w comprehending. They want to use all your benefits meaning they don't care about the actual work they are doing bc they are so money hungry. They try to do so many unnecessary procedures bc The dentist went in for a filling but didn't clear out all of the decay bc he's bouncing back and forth between patients I went back several times telling them that the tooth hurt, and each time they told me that it's normal. Finally, they went back into the tooth and realized that he did not take out all of the decay and that's why the tooth hurt. They has to drill into the same tooth again which makes the tooth even more fragile. My bite was off for a long time until I had the courage to go to another dentist I spent over $5000 at this place and once they maxed out all of my benefits for the year they started to ignore my calls. If you pay attention you'll see that Dr.A doesn't change gloves in between his patients. Donna is extremely unprofessional. They are so money hungry all they care about is jamming as many ppl in as they can Do yourself a favor and go to Dr. Cuff across the street. They took care of all of my concern and made me feel comfortable going to the dentist again. She doesn't make you feel like just a number and does great work. read more

So far I am very happy with this facility! The staff is patient, kind, flexible and helpful. The facility is clean and well kept. I feel like the Dentist lets you know what work is a necessity vs what is more cautionary. The Dentist was also very gentle and patient with me as I told him I was a bit nervous when it came to dental work. I had a filling removed and a crown replaced it. I've stayed quiet until now, because I appreciated the office manager Donna Hamilton so much, that I didn't want to tarnish the office, or create problems for her, but since she was let go recently, I can be honest. Dr. A is not professional, forces opportunities for him to make more money down your throat multiple times, doesn't listen to your concerns, does not react appropriately to people in pain during a procedure, gets easily and VERY noticeably frustrated when you have issues, scares his dental assistants to the point of tears, is not gay friendly, and seems to be more interested in whether or not his tesla has a parking tent, than his customer's well being. The front end staff has always been helpful and accommodating, including the office manager, but the actual interactions with Dr. A have been so bad at times, that I have left crying. He will not listen when it comes to your pain level or tolerance, will insist on forcing painful situations, always blame another person or entity for his mistakes, and my favorite...over use dental tools like plaster, and the white film that shows where new dentures are causing pain. He's ruined multiple garments that I have worn to appointments, and just leaves me sitting in the chair with denture shards from shaving, and multiple other substances in my mouth, around my face, and on my clothes. He doesn't show care or compassion in his interactions, those were provided by Donna. I would've left a long time ago if it wasn't for her. It's incredibly sad when a dental professional not only doesn't see his own bedside manner as an issue, but then chooses his wallet over people that provide the positive experience that he lacks. I've read the reviews of Dr. A, and im sure if those people were to look back into their experiences, they'd remember a few of the situations that I've mentioned. I will not return. read more

I found East County Family Dentistry by chance. Unfortunately having to leave another dentist office due to insurance matters. Everyone in this office is wonderful. I love the easy banter between the front office staff and the professionalism of the rest of the staff from billing, X-ray tech, hygienist, back office and the dentist himself. My first time appointment was longer than I have experienced in the past, which they allowed for to give me a thorough examination and cleaning along with the suggestion of treatments in the future which I was very appreciative of. They have found a loyal customer and coming from me whom is not partial to the "dentist office" means a lot!! read more

Super bummed. Got a second option too late. They pulled teeth that didn't need to come out. The crown feels unnatural next to my 6 tooth bridge. Flat and squared off. Not his best work, obviously. Over priced. I can't complain about that i agreed to the price. This place is AWFUL. Honestly, they are just looking to use all of your benefits for the year. That is their main objective. Starting off there is little to no privacy. The dentist is constantly switching back and forth between patients without even switching his gloves out. I went back a couple times for the same tooth. They tried to convince me that the pain was normal. Donna was very condescending about the entire situation. I really had to advocate for myself and express that this pain wasn't normal.They drilled in the SAME tooth AGAIN only for him to tell me that he closed the cavity up WITHOUT taking all of the decay out and that's probably what was causing the pain. Not only did they not believe me but he closed the tooth up without doing his job. Mostly likely bc he was bouncing back and forth between so many patients. Lets talk about the payment, so I ALWAYS paid my copay in FULL after my appointments. I wrote a bad review on yelp. Couple months later I get a call from collections about a $70 bill. You guys they sent a bill to collections FOR SEVENTY DOLLARS. Mind you, they had my phone number and my email. They never contacted me in regards to this bill. The only thing I can think of that it could be for is when he redid the tooth that he messed up but why should i have to pay for him not doing his job the first time??? I was really terrified to go to another dentist for a while - just bc i had THE WORST EXPERIENCE at this place. If you are looking for a friendly dentist that takes their time - go across the street to Dr.Ana Cluff. She is incredible and really turned my view around about going to the dentist. read more

The experience is so great, you don't even dread your next visit 1-They are very affordable, compared to other dentists. 2-Carol ROCKS!!!! I brought my son here during Covid. I wanted to get his treatment started right away because he had a very bad underbite and I had heard that it was easier to correct while he was young, and his jaw was more flexible. I didn't want him to have to possibly get his jaw broke later on in life, to correct underbite. Skipping ahead... my son was done with phase 1 of his braces, they removed his brackets and said they wanted to start phase 2 after he lost a couple baby teeth. So 9 months or more go by and I realize I should give ortho a call, cause he's lost baby teeth, so he should be ready for full braces now! I make an appointment and as my son sits in the ortho chair .. the ortho comes in looks in his mouth.. and I say "he's ready for phase 2braces now right?" The orthodontist says: oh, I don't think we're doing that anymore! " why on earth would they set up an appointment for phase 2 of his braces if they're not doing them anymore and why would they not call me ahead of time to let me know that they were no longer doing regular braces and only Invisalign I feel completely ripped off and I feel that they are so unprofessional because I would have never in my life went through them if I knew that they were not gonna be doing braces anymore and only Invisalign Invisalign is not practical for a 13 year-old boy and with my son Dental, that is not a good route for himpissed off is an understatement. I will never recommend dentistry to anyone. read more

This place employs anti-vaxxers. Staff do not wear masks. Had 2 appointments here and no one in the entire office wore a mask. On my last visit one of the assistants was spewing anti-vax propaganda and I promised myself that would be the last time I ever set foot in that office since I am immunocompromised and care for an immunocompromised senior. We will not be returning to East County Family Dentistry and I regret taking my 9 year old here to get her first cavity removed. Our session was constantly interrupted and they left us waiting without explanation for about 15-20 minutes while the dentist drilled and x-rayed the person next to us. After completely numbing the one side of her mouth and making us wait for what seemed like a lifetime, the dentist takes me aside to ask if I would like to come back or continue on with a bit more numbing shots for pain. He should have addressed this issue by talking to me before he gave her the shots in her mouth! Also, there is no privacy whatsoever and the staff kept coming into our space to get equipment they needed that was stored inconveniently in the tiny space we were in with no doors. The 2 stars are for the few friendly staff members or else I'd give 1 star. I do believe the dentist was good at removing the cavity as gently as possible but nothing was done to help put my daughter at ease and the cold like atmosphere didn't help any. Dentist appointments can be scary especially for children and unfortunately this experience for us was a disappointment. In my opinion they should at the very least reward kids with stickers after being so brave during the appointment but they didn't even give that. Do yourself and your kids a favor by finding a dentist that is much more attentive to their clients needs and respects your time. read more

My experience over the Las couple of years has been very positive. They are not only very competent, the are very nice people one & all. It's reflection of how great it is to work with Dr Ardjmand. Wow. I called in the morning around 9:30 explaining that I had a filling fall out that was put in by another dentist. They got me in at noon for a $30 exam consult. I was out of there by 1:00 with a new filling. The staff was awesome! They were so friendly. The dentist was personable, and explained everything. When I mentioned that I didn't have insurance for the month, he suggested that it was probably workable to wait. But when I saw I could get out of there with piece of mind and a new filling for less than $200 I said we could do it. They did it right then. Oh, and they essentially helped me watch my 16 month old son during the whole hour while I got xrays and a fixed tooth. Come on... how good is that? And they take kids... Didn't even hurt... This office is legit. I (unfortunately) have been to many dentist in my life. Usually decent experiences. I had a emergency visit a few weeks ago on a Friday afternoon and they slipped me right in. On my second visit I had oral surgery and it could not have gone smoother. The staff is great and personable and are very good at keeping your mind at ease. The prices are very reasonable and I did not feel gouged. Dr Ardjmand was truly concerned for my wellbeing and even followed up later in the day to make sure everything was going well (which I have never had a dentist do). One more thing. The wait time was very quick and I didn't feel like I got there just to wait. read more
