This guy is awesome. He was recommended to me by Dr. Williams (dentist). I had braces when I was a kid, but I was not happy with the results, so I decided to get them again as an adult. This time I went to the best of the best. And I found him. I was nervous about having braces as an adult, but I was surprised that almost every time I went in, there were other adults getting worked on too! In 14 months, my teeth were perfect. Horrible communication, been WEEKS and I had to call in order to get an update about my trays. They were rejected and not a single person in that office thought to reach out first, redid my trays and still no answer, called three times and not a single callback. Absolutely disgusted, I'm unsure if it's due to my age or skin color but it seems like they struggle to have answers when I ring; or avoid the phone in general. read more

The doctor is AMAZING!!! His personality and workmanship is phenomenal. HOWEVER, the STAFF is EXTREMELY RUDE. I shell out thousands for my kids teeth, you think these "women" and I use that word loosely, another word comes to mind actually but I'll leave that one alone .... would be semi kind to the clients. each time I speak to one of them on the phone or in person they seem like I'm inconveniencing them. I only call to schedule appointments that the doctor requests. I've been treated better by grumpy DMV employees. Anyway, wear a thick skin when you come in here. But in reminiscing about my experience with Dr. Miroue I almost felt obligated. A decade later and I still have super straight teeth. He planned out everything perfectly, showed me step by step everything he was going to do, and was super nice. He's funny too! But also slightly weird, haha. The overall atmosphere of the office is great too. TV's at every station to help you relax and some of the nicest assistants possible. I never even had to wear retainers during the day time when i got my braces off and the ones he did give me were just a set of invisiline braces. Nothing chunky in the roof of my mouth. I was one of Doctor Miroue's patients several years ago. Back when I became his patient, I was 16 years old. I was somewhere around 20 or 21 years of age when I finally finished my treatment. Around 2006 I was in a severe bicycle accident that left me with broken braces, a broken bone, and a missing tooth. Miroue called my mother when he found out I was hospitalized for an accident just to make sure I was okay and she was going to be okay. Once I was recovered, I continued my treatment with him and he even attached a flipper to my braces so that I wouldn't have a gap in my front teeth. He also attached a false tooth to my retainer for the same reason. Doctor Miroue is a very kind and caring man and I can't believe he's still in business! I would happily refer anyone in need of orthodontic treatment to him. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Miroue since I was in the second grade (I had really messed up teeth) and my older brother went to him before I did. He's very very good at what he does. I've always been sensitive to pain and would get a lot of work done each visit so I usually left teary-eyed but he's got a sense of humor, he's very caring and professional, and he knows what he's doing. I haven't been to the office in almost 3 years but I had braces for 8.5 years and all of his staff have always been so caring with my brother and I. Andrea is great at what she does too, and she's always been very nice. We ran into her at the store once and talked for over an hour! I have straight, white, healthy teeth and if I could post a picture of what they looked like when I first walked in, you would think it was photoshop! The doctor is very knowledgeable, his prices are reasonable and the staff is kind but we left this office in disgust a few years ago. Dr. Miroue has what some have described as a quirky personality. I found him to be petty and infantile. My daughter disliked him because of his bad breath and bad jokes so she didn't laugh at his humor. He resented that. If she was having trouble with the treatment, he would complain that she was being difficult. For example, on one occasion, she cried out in pain and he got furious. On closer inspection we realized that a wire had been driven straight into her gum. (unfortunately she was born with a small mouth and large gums by comparison). He grew to dislike her so much, that he nitpicked at everything she did. Once she leaned against the wall and bumped the blinds. He complained that she was trying to destroy his office. My daughter has never been hyper or destructive. The last straw was when we walked in for an appointment and he claimed she had clogged his plumbing during the last visit. I was in tears. It was obvious that he was trying to drive us away. We had paid for the treatment up front. Andrea looked mortified at the way he treated us and told us the plumbing already needed maintenance. The bottom line was, we were nowhere near the place when his toilet overflowed and he had no way of knowing who had used it last. This office is quite capable of producing beautiful results and if the doctor hadn't taken a personal dislike to my daughter, things would have turned out differently. Dr. Miroue's behavior towards my daughter was bordering on abusive. Never before or since have I seen anything like it and I work with doctors. (I felt sorry for his staff because they looked like they were afraid of him. The tension was palpable.) I am convinced that our treatment was cut short and it greatly slowed down my daughter's progress. She's almost 17 now and still in braces. My recommendation for anyone considering this doctor is to stroke his ego. Laugh at his jokes, look interested in his stories about his travels, agree with everything he says. (Don't look disturbed when he asks you about your ethnicity.) Smile through the terrible halitosis he blows on you. Then you should be just fine. This is the first time I post on Yelp. Very unsatisfied. I'm an adult and didn't want railroad tracks so got the "Invisalign" tray braces. I had braces as a teen, but quit wearing my retainer and they got crooked again. Dr. Miroue is knowledgable, but I didn't care for his business ethics. First of all, they were offering a discount if you paid up front, and in cash. "I thought, "wow, I can save some money". So I paid up front. Big mistake. Dr. Miroue rushed through the process, sometimes setting my appointments only a week after I had just gotten a new tray. My teeth had barely gotten used to the old tray. OUCH! My mouth was so sore, I could hardly stand to chew. Secondly, after he had rushed me through the treatment, my new retainer tray didn't fit right, so I needed to have some adjustments made. Seems he didn't want to spend any more time on me once the treatment was done. His office didn't even bother to return my call! The third time I called, I left a message saying I thought it was unprofessional and that I would really appreciate a call back. Finally got a return call and, after making a big stink, got another appointment and got my final tray fixed. Don't ever pay up front, it just means they will get you in and out in as little time as possible and with as little effort/care as possible. And I STILL think it's very unprofessional not to return a patient's phone call...even if, in your mind, you think you're finished with them. read more

the staff is horribly rude. and the worst part-they said they checked my insurance and that i did not have orthodontics coverage and i had to make cash payments- i fell behind-the finance manager was unsympathetic and really a total bully. and it turns out we actually had $2000 orthodonics coverage- they didn't call and check as they said they did-- and now they don't return my calls to fix this. the receptionist is so unprofessional- when we came in to fix a breakage she would roll her eyes and talk to the tech about us rudely right in front of us. i have never written a review in my life but this experience has call for it. don't go there-sure they are nice at first, once braces on, their attitude declines severly read more

I'm on my third child getting treatment with Dr. Miroue. He is one of the brightest people I've met, irrespective of profession. He graduated at the top of his class in college, dental school & ortho school & it shows. His prices are the most reasonable around, as well -- my friends are amazed at the great result for sometimes half the price of their orthos. Also, I have encountered many dentists and oral surgeons throughout San Diego who have taken their kids to Dr. Miroue. My son's oral surgeon in Carmel Valley RAVED about him -- and how he took his kids from Poway all the way to El Cajon for Dr. M! When his colleagues seek him out for their kids' treatments, then you know you've found the BEST person around. He is definitely a quirky character, but my kids think he's hilarious! read more

the other post by another was removed but she described him as weird ...hes very friendly too much so that its unprofessional...i had numerous problems after hearing comments he made to minors about waxing their legs & continually poking 'fun' at my aid work in africa...hes the most unprofessional person bedside manner wise that i hated going in & it took them 2 years to realize they hadnt been using the right phone number so i wasnt getting reminder calls...after treatment he said your finished...i had forgotten as evidently they did as well that they said i would need teeth filed & as a result two teeth were chipped... when i wrote in simply asking to get what i paid for they offered by lawyer to finish the work I PAID FOR if i signed a waiver agreeing not to give any bad reviews ???? i now have to go to another ortho after over $5500 i now have to deal with getting the bottom permanent retainer fixed & teeth filed ...i was actually shocked by things i heard in the office & would NEVER go back much less take my minor child there ...i wish he could provide audio or video of things as i would then take him to court read more
