I took my baby goat, Waylon, to East County Large and Small Animal Practice today on Quail Canyon Road in El Cajon, and I can't say enough good things about our experience. We saw Dr. Ty Blanche, and the service was truly phenomenal. As new livestock owners, we were pretty nervous going in especially since we've never dealt with a situation like this before. Waylon had nasal discharge and a cough, which is really concerning in young goats, and we were feeling overwhelmed trying to figure out what to do (especially with places like Tractor Supply no longer carrying livestock antibiotics). From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel comfortable and taken care of. Dr. Blanche was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and kind. She was extremely informative and answered all of my questions thoroughly. You can tell she genuinely cares &she is amazing! We also have a full house of animals five dogs (ranging from a Cane Corso to a Yorkie), goats, and chickens, with plans to continue growing our little farm so they will definitely be seeing a lot more of us. I'm extremely impressed by the level of customer service and top-tier care we received. This was our first visit, and it definitely won't be our last. They've gained lifelong clients and patients in us. Hopefully, we won't need emergency care again anytime soon but if we do, we know exactly where to go. read more

Dr. Craig Chandler is the absolute BEST vet my fur babies have ever had. He is extremely personable, kind and knowledgable. I always ask a million questions and he always answers. My horses and mini donkey love him too and that says a lot about a gentle hand with animals. The entire ECLAP team is wonderful from the office to the techs. I enjoyed the environment; outside waiting area where a horse was nearby. Today I called for my Yorkie, a first time patient there. They are booking for June, but I mentioned I'm flexible for a cancellation. Mikeala (sp?) was on it and within an hour I had an appointment for this Thursday. Great customer service. My Yorkie isn't an emergency, but she does have a goopy eye I'd like looked at sooner than later (if possible). I appreciated the fact she remembered I was interested. I have taken my sheep after an injury and my dog. Both times they have been wonderful communicating and taking care of my girls!

I began with ECLAP in 2021 as they were my mare's health providers since I became her "mom" that year. Over these few years-- although my veterinarians have largely been excellent in their service-- I have experienced a few things that eventually made me seek out another provider, that I consistently see in person each time. When we began with ECLAP, we continuously had the same, experienced vet for our barn (it was almost like a social event for everyone, dogs included), and I didn't have to rehash my mare's full health history each and every appointment. We then received another vet (at the same barn), with whom we established a great relationship, and we hardly ever see her now (although I have requested her), at a different barn just down the highway. On to a third vet servicing us (just this month)-- and was seemingly in a rush when we had our appointment-- my senior mare having received a dewormer despite my telling the vet that we had just had a negative fecal test! I felt obviously dismissed. I also had three appointment mishaps where the front office had made appointments for my mare-- whereby I arranged my schedule around these particular times-- to discover that the appointments on said days didn't even exist! One particular appointment I arranged for my husband to be there (in my absence), with a list of questions for the vet. I was then called by the office to ask if there was any chance I could reschedule? I told them. "no", as I had already arranged everything so that the important appointment could take place, without which my mare would have been in considerable pain. I do not believe that I am an unreasonable, or spiteful person, seeking to destroy a business. My mare's health is everything to me, and I will pay the necessary fees to ensure her well-being. The office staff DOES need to be held accountable for their constant errors, however, and perhaps stop overscheduling their excellent veterinary staff. I appreciate their service, and when the vets care, they really do care. I do believe ECLAP is still a good practice, perhaps just getting "too big", and cannot maintain the work load. (?) read more

Best vet around. So good it's hard to get an appointment quickly but worth the wait if your pet can wait. Try to call at least a week before you need an appointment if you can. They do make you exceptions for emergencies of course. Check in lady was kinda friendly but assistants and doctors are very friendly and knowledgeable. Arrived in the morning to drop off my cat for a dental cleaning and came across an off-leash dog that was jumping all over me in the parking lot. Eventually after complaining, I learned that it was the doctor's dog. It is unbelievably disrespectful AND unprofessional to have an off-leash dog at a business like a vet office. There are all kinds of animals being brought in that should not ever be subjected to this type of experience. Not only is it unpleasant for the animals, but for the owner as well. For them to overlook this consideration and be unapologetic about it really goes to show their attitude towards their clients (I called the receptionist to complain and she was dismissive of my statements). read more

If you have an older dog or a dog with a chronic condition please have them evaluated at ECLAP asap. Until 2 weeks ago I had an adored 17-year-old rescue dog that I was blessed with for 16 years. During this time of Covid one of my worst nightmares was having to drop off my old dog to be euthanized if she had experienced a sudden event, with the current stressful protocols of most veterinary practices (do not go to the Emergency clinic on Jackson drive if at all possible; the organization that now runs it and the front-of-house staff are disturbing to say the least. Although for avian pet care Dr. Cecil is amazing). Anyway, because I was already a client of ECLAP I was able to schedule a last-minute euthanasia in my car for my old dog, who suddenly took a turn for the worst. Dr. Harlan came out for several emergencies with my Horses & Donkey. We moved to Anza, CA I called every Vet in Temecula no one would take care of my Pig a one year old. I found a Vet who only looked at him. charged me $323 for a shot, office visit and antibiotics. ECLAP was concern about my Pig, his large swollen scrotum. Dr. Harland called me 4 times with a game plan. I agreed to castrate, he had a big hematoma. Dr. Harlan gave him a shots, and cost me $525. I will drive 2 hours one way for all my animals. read more

I use them for my routine stuff with my horses and recently started bringing my small animals to them. This is my first experience with this vet and everyone was great! First off, most vets right now aren't doing any spaying or neutering because they consider it an elective surgery, but I think spaying and neutering would be an important surgery to help control the pet population! ECLAP is still fixing pets (thank goodness!) because my male cat is 5 months now, and if I had to wait too much longer he would start spraying my house! Everyone from the scheduling phone call to picking Boris up after the deed was done was wonderful, and everyone loved my kitty! My pointer was having some discharge from one of his eyes and I immediately called ECLAP, They instantly got my boy in the same day, so I booked my pup with Dr. Leann Sargeant Again...... Dr. Sargeant I now remember, has been the vet who saved my Bulldogs life when he got full blown pneumonia and almost died... And now she thoroughly is treating my Pointer for an eye allergy of some sort. I forgot how nice this little country vet office is. In a barn, but with full exam rooms very clean and up to date. I feel so blessed to have found this little gem of a veterinary practice, not to mention Dr. Leann Sargeant who seems to me like a walking encyclopedia of veterinary medicine and animal knowledge. We were looking for a new vet for our normal visits plus a vet to get our german shepherds teeth cleaned and we definitely found it! They were AMAZING! The visit was fairly priced, easy parking, and the location was in a beautiful area as a bonus. I was not sure how it would work with how COVID is, but we checked in at the little window, and we were seen very quickly. Everyone I talked to was super helpful and friendly. I believe we saw Dr. Oman, and he was so great. Great bedside, super friendly with Sylvie, and came out himself to talk with me and examine her, as well as take her for vitals and brought her back to me. He helped us put a more definite age for her since she is a rescue, checked out a little bald spot she had, and addressed her weight, giving suggestion on how much she should weigh and how many cups I should feed her. He also asked some questions about our current medications and what he recommended when it was time for a new prescription. He even asked questions that correlated with her breed like if she was itchy and how often I bathed her. I felt like Sylvie was in such good hands and every concern I could have was covered! He told me that we could wait for a few months for her dental cleaning and potentially could save some money during that time, but it was all up to us. No pressure, no up-sale, nothing. I cannot rave enough about this experience! I was able to schedule her annual visit for shots and heart-worm in February already too! So I don't have to stress about getting her in when we get closer, since appointments fill up fast at vets. read more

Best vet around! We used ECLAP to spay our sweet little mini pig, Judy. The entire team was so incredibly sweet and knowledgeable! The vet, Dr. Oman, took the time to discuss the procedure and to make sure Judy was well taken care of. Last night, unfortunately, we lost one of our other sweet piggies. Dr. Harlan took the time to meet us in the office (after hours!) to see if there was anything that could be done. He took time away from his family to make sure his patients were cared for! This was my first time going here to get my mini pig spayed. My doctor was Daniel oman (hope I got the name right). He was a very courteous and professional man and his pricing was fair and flexible based off her weight. Not only did he do an amazing job on the spay he thoroughly controlled my pigs pain to make sure she felt very little if any pain during the entire ordeal. He answered all my questions and even have multiple courtesy calls to check on her progress. This establishment is now my primary care for my animals and has the best care and pricing I've found ever. 5/5 stars no contest and I would recommend it to all my friends/family. My only negative and it's very minor was it was slightly difficult to find for first time visitors being in the back behind a house. Otherwise I have Zero complaints. read more

I have used ECLAP in particular Dr. Harlan to treat my pigs. He is hands down the best pig vet in the San Diego area. Being a rescue/sanctuary, we see all different kinds of issues with the pigs and Dr. Harlan has been awesome. If something odd comes up he may not have the answer but he finds out and does his very best to help all of our residents live a safe happy life. Dr. Omen has performed many spay surgeries for us and has always been phenomenal. I appreciate the timely feedback on problems and the willingness to get urgent cases seen as quickly as possible. I recently had an emergency with one of our horses and it was clear there was only one option which was to euthanize, it was 6:30 am, none of their vets had ever treated our horses, but the amount of pain this horse was in required immediate intervention. Our "regular" horse vet gave us such a long ETA I called ECLAP hoping for a miracle. Dr. Christel had never been to the ranch, but she came flying in, jumped out of her truck sedation in hand and had him sedated within seconds of arrival. I have never been so thankful for a vets quick intervention as I was right then. Although the outcome broke my heart, I am forever grateful for all the efforts made to get someone to us quickly and she came prepared. read more

But now that Dr. Manring works at Eclap I will be using her for all of my needs from now on. She is so incredibly knowledgeable especially when it comes to all things lameness (just take a look at where she trained!!) but is down to earth, empathetic and smart as heck.
