Honestly, this company should really work on communicating with customers and being truthful. I had some minor stuff fixed on our fifth wheel and checked out our slide out, they said that they worked with our claim company - never filed it!!!! They got their money from us then ghosted me. They kept saying they would send our invoices to fix our slide out, never got anything. Also, they "fixed" our shower only to have it leak more. My husband had to fix what they made worse. 0/10. Don't use them. I've attached photos to show that I've reached out and asked them to file our claim. I'll be filing a complaint with the better business bureau due to their blatant disregard for what they told us they would do but also not supplying us with an invoice after we paid for work to be done Edit to add: After filing with the BBB, they sent an estimate. They are still trying to claim that I must submit the claim when they were told it was their job to do so and they also texted me that they would be doing that. As another reviewer said, "Stay away from this business ". This review would be negative 5 if it was possible. First we had to pay before they would even see us. We were told we would get the rv back the following week. They ended up taking a week and a half. Then we were told they could install electronic locks on the drawers in our motorhome. They were unable to do this and instead installed magnets to prevent the drawers from rolling out when the vehicle is in motion. Next we we're told that there would be extra charges for the extra time it took to repair the drawers. But at that time we were not told that they were unable to install the electronic locks. They told us later that there was a problem with getting the locks they wanted with the manufacturer. When we went to pick up the vehicle that is when we found out that they had just put in the magnets and not the electronic locks. When I opened one of the drawers the latch just fell off. So we had to leave it there another day. When I asked why we were still paying the price quoted for electronic locks they said it was because of all the extra time it took them to try and install the electronic locks and then take them back out again. The explanation was pretty vague. It seems to me that if they are saying that they will install something and then are not able to that that should be on them. It also begs the question of competence. Why are they saying can do something and then not able to. We ended up leaving the payment as it was, but we will not be using this place again. read more

I had an infuriating experience getting a repair done with A1. I had chosen them because I like working with smaller local businesses - I appreciate in the experience and good relationship that can bring, and there were several great reviews. This was my experience: PROS: - Patrick seemed like a very nice and knowledgeable individual. He gave some great tips on other items to maintain upkeep with our RV that we were not repairing so it remains in top shape. - They we're willing to get the repair done quickly. CONS: - We dropped off the trailer and about 15 after we left I received a call that I needed to send $40 for parts so that I would not get a courier charge of $35. I had already sent the $165 deposit for the repairs before we dropped it off, and now I have to send more money for materials to remove a charge that isn't my responsibility in the first place? Later that charge was still on my invoice, I had to challenge that and remind them I paid all the money they had asked for. - The repair was to take one day to fix - manual water fill hoses and potentially the external box. The timeline they set. We were to pick it up between 4-5 the next day. I didn't hear anything from them until I texted asking if the repairs were ready. The response I got made me feel like they hadn't even started on it til I sent a message because following that message I get a bunch of communication on how the box is broken (it wasn't broken when I took it there), which I was fine to replace if it needed to be. Now they can't get parts til the end of the week and have to find a special part (which I was able to find on Amazon for half the price). I was told when we came to pick it up to "not break it again"... I didn't break it in the first place, it's a 15 year old trailer where the plastic dried out. - The communication and customer service was overall not great. I asked when we dropped it off to receive and update on cost if it changed, which I didn't receive until they were already purchasing items for the repair. When it was all finished, the quote was half of the total final price. I would've never paid the amount it ended up being for this type of repair, but it was either have them finish or pick it up with a hole in the side and I still have to fix it myself. - We took the trailer out and tested the water fill. Some water leaked into the wall and floor from driving, so when we got home I reached out to have them take a look. They list mobile repair on their site, so I requested that someone come take a look to see what needed to be done instead of me hauling it back and forth again to their small lot. They refused to send someone to take a look. Felt like they accused me of breaking it and when I asked for a partial refund so I could take it somewhere else, there was no response. When I took it apart, the parts were jammed together and installed incorrectly. It looked like the technician rushed the job and didn't take the time to do it right. In the end, I ended up repairing it myself and didn't get an refund for the incorrect installation. I wanted to share this in the hopes that someone else won't have to go through the same awful I did. read more

Very slow response times and outrageous rates. Took more than a week for them to get back to me with a quote for them to just come out and see my RV. I will say they did check with my warranty to see what was covered, so that was one plus, and the reason I'm giving them 2 stars instead of one. I wanted to like them, but then they came back to me with a quote of over $1300 for them to just come out and give an ESTIMATE! That didn't even cover the repairs. That is obviously insane so I will never be using this business and would not recommend them. I wish they would not have kept me waiting on that quote for such a long time and wasted my time. Great service! Highly recommend! I took my Cummins generator there for a tune-up, and they did a fantastic job. I also shared a problem I was having ; my generator sometimes wouldn't turn on. They checked it and discovered that another mechanic service, South Coast, hadn't connected the terminals to my battery properly. They tightened it up at no extra cost! Wow. This business continues to spew lies about what transpired during the visit. There's no way Patrick could view the solar panels from tipping toeing on the propane cover. He even said the antenna was blocking part of the solar, how would you see the wires? REALLY Patrick? How can you call yourself an honest business owner knowingly you had a difficult time removing the fridge and almost dropping it when you pulled it out of the shelf? You know you caused the damages. And you know you did NOT put the fridge back in the shelf because you asked me and I said no since I'm getting a new fridge and I was going to hire you to do it. Well we know that won't happen. You knew what you were doing when you started bad mouthing the solar set up to try to sell your services for solar installation. Then after reporting them to BBB, they decided to finally send me a text of A half-a$$ analysis. Patrick is adamant the wiring was done incorrectly but couldn't say where from and to it should be connected to. Again they continue to lie in their BBB Response which I have attached. They said my girlfriend asked for a refund which she never mentioned it. Well you know what, now I do. You also said Patrick did not have anything in his pockets or have a watch on that will scratch the fridge. That was a lie because his key chains and box cutter was hanging out of his right pocket. And guess what, the right side of the fridge has the scratched!! I will be adding that in the BBB report to have the damages paid for. Wouldn't it be great if we can have a lie detector done? Please don't say he put those on when the job was complete or find another lie that you're not at fault. You know how ridiculous that will sound? For all customers who had a bad experience with this business, you should report them to BBB. Don't pay cash or Venmo as a personal payment. Make sure you're paying for services. This will give you a chance to dispute the charges if services were not rendered and damages were done. UPDATE - they decided to block me because I caught them in a lie about damaging my fridge and shelf. Of course, they will not offer a refund or pay for the damages. From the moment I walked in and was greeted by Karla (daughter) to when I met Karla (mom), I felt treated as if I were a long lost family member. Karla (mom) is a walking encyclopedia of information about RV's. She knows from top to bottom anything you want to know. She schooled me on so much that I wish I had recorded everything or at least tried to take notes, but I didn't want to appear rude. She schooled me on how batteries work and even showed me the website. I plan to buy one later since we're just starting out. The lady knows her stuff. Then I met the master mechanic, her husband. Nicest and most knowledgeable man you can imagine. He instantly knew what was up with my "white angel". I told Karla (mom) that I would love to take her to lunch so that my significant other could meet her and gain some of her knowledge. Besides she's witty and super approachable. I love both ladies. I had Patrick out yesterday to help me install two new slideout toppers on my class A motorhome and an extra billow preventer, plus replace the failed tank fill/city water valve (a two-way ball valve, and the original part is no longer available from Fleetwood). He was great to work with and really knows his stuff, and I learned quite a bit while being the assistant for the slide-out toppers (requires at least two people to install, goes faster if you have three), and the toppers both rolled up perfectly straight the first time. When it came to the valve, it turned out some extra connecting pieces were needed to make either of my two candidates fit, so he went over to my local Home Depot and not only got the necessary pieces, but came back with a valve that is better than either of the two that I had and is also far better than what my motorhome came with. This was my first time working with A1, and I contacted them because the mobile RV tech I have used before is booked so far out that he's not even taking appointments right now. To my great surprise, I called them on Tuesday and they were able to book me in for the following Saturday morning! I'm definitely a happy camper (lol) and A1 will be my go-to mobile tech from now on. read more

I called A1 RV repairs & service when I was having problems with my brand new trailer and didn't want to drive it back to the dealer in LA. Patrick was quick to diagnose and fix the refrigerator on my first visit and fix the batteries which the dealer installed wrong. On my second visit when pieces of my interior were falling off, he not only repaired it but he reinforced the interior pieces so it won't happen again and my RV is in better shape than it was when it left the factory. And a big plus, they always get me in for an appointment quickly which is very appreciated since I'm out on the road pretty frequently. We have a 2018 Thor Chateau Class C RV with a very basic solar set-up. We've been wanting to upgrade our coach batteries and install an inverter/converter combo as well as upgrade our solar charge controller to a more efficient one (MPPT). I have to say, Patrick is hands down an EXPERT with solar installs. Every little detail was well-thought out. From using the proper gauge wire, finding the appropriate location for the inverter (found the PERFECT spot for it, after I spent hours trying to rack my brain on where it should go), to the overall fit and finish of the install; Patrick was able to troubleshoot any issue or roadblock we encountered. The RV industry is seeing an influx of new owners putting strain on the RV service industry as well. I'm always quoted 1-2 months or MORE to wait for an RV service appointment at some of the larger RV service departments in San Diego. A1 RV Repairs & Services is very reliable and professional.  Patrick was able to fix our generator when even an RV repair shop said they wouldn't be able to because they didn't have the parts.  Not only did he fix it but he was able to diagnose the issue as being something the repair shop didn't even catch.  He was also able to install a new third break-light (what I've always called the "back off light").
