I bent an axel and I needed it back right away. $2200-- I didn't need it that bad. They said I needed axel, hubs and springs. I bought the axel for $167 and paid $100 for labor, $100 for welding and $40 in other parts. They were not nice either. read more

I've had my camper van for about 2 years and have had the hardest time finding a reliable, knowledgeable, professional and trustworthy service center. I was totally convinced that there were just no good options in the San Diego area. But then I found San Diego RV Center!!! They are literally everything I was looking for. They provide every kind of RV service I could imagine, even exterior body/paint work. I was working directly with the manufacturer on a myriad of warrantee items, and SD RV Center was able to step right in seamlessly. They maintained excellent communications with both me and the manufacturer throughout the repair, they were able to successfully troubleshoot difficulties which arose in the process, they took great care of my coach when it was in their possession, and they did the repairs much more quickly than other places I had previously gone. They were friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, professional, skilled in their craftsmanship, absolutely fair in their pricing and proficient in their field. While they are located near Alpine (and I live near the coast), they are situated in a very nice, quiet neighborhood. I took the motorhome in for an Aqua-hot service ($600) because I noticed a small diesel fuel leak before our 3600 mile trip to Yellowstone. During the trip it started leaking again. When we returned they had it for a month and couldn't fix it after quoting us $1000 for a fuel pump rebuild. Since they couldn't fix it they threw in the towel and said to come get it. When I picked it up there was dirty boot marks on my clean carpet. They obviously didn't protect the carpets while walking through the motorhome moving it for that month. Christy was awesome . I've had problems with my aqua hot since I've had my motor which I purchased in January of 2023. The hardest part was dealing with aqau hot and getting them to warranty it and getting repairs done. Christy worked hard dealing with Aqua hot and got the repairs done under warranty in a timely manner. She communicated with me on a regular bases to let me know what was going on . I want to sincerely thank Jose from San Diego RV Center for his help and patience as we had our new RV repaired due to manufacturer issues. We received our coach brand new with a handful of issues that the manufacturer was willing to remediate but that required it to go away for repair. We were disappointed and frustrated to learn this as we had been so excited to take trips as a family as soon as possible. When we contacted Jose, he let us know that service turnaround was currently longer than normal, due to the 2020 influx of coaches on the road and in service centers, but that he could definitely help us. And that he did. He worked with the manufacturer to get the parts needed and the approvals required to fix all of the issues. He was happy to add on troubleshooting of another issue that we identified later on during the process and he also offered to wash the van, which was a kind offer and not something that seems to be offered very often anymore. We were in need of repairs after a guy washed our RV and left the black tank flush on inadvertently! Our insurance company adjuster highly recommended SDRV Center after working a long time with them. SDRV completed all our repairs in a timely manner which is great because we're full time RV'rs. They were very thorough in all that they did. Sam was great explaining things to us. Arron did the work. He's pretty knowledgeable and a hard worker. We asked him a few questions and he helped educate us on the inner workings of our RV. I totally recommend SDRV. I had SDRV Center replace all four brake drums and pads 5 years and 8000 miles ago. (Thats eight thousand miles.. !!) I brought my rig in a few weeks ago for a bearing service and they said two brake drums and pads needed to be replaced. They refused to honor the previous work and would not listen to simple logic about the low miles. I did not have them repair the brakes. Instead, I took the trailer to a certified mechanic who inspected the brakes. He said they were all in very good condition and no repair was necessary. SDRV is trying to rip people off. Beware! Also their bearing service was un professional. Old worn bent cotter pins were used to secure all four bearings! read more

I'm surprised I never did a review for them because I love this place so much. My error; they're great. I have used San Diego RV for maybe 15 years because Rick's RV turned to cr*p. Sam and Frank, the owners of San Diego RV, were ALWAYS fair and very helpful. Repairs were always straight forward and done on time. Now I'm guessing the business changed hands. All of the staff at the counter are new. I used to deal with either Sam or Frank directly. No one said anything, and I kinda asked, but I'm sure there's the usual NDA. Finally, we found a efficient, and reliable service shop for our Allegro Open Road. Rob Engquist and the staff at San Diego RV Ctr provided exceptional service to correct an RV recall and other work I added. I was promised a 1 day turnaround even with the extra work and they were true to their word. Rob also took time to show us how to use some new products in our coach, so he is a great resource for me and SD RV Ctr. and much appreciated. It was a long trip from LA to SD but it was worth it. Had a bad experience at another facility, took my RV out if that one, got a recommendation from a friend for this one. Checked them out online, went in and talked to the service writer (whom I believe is also the office manager), told him about the problem with the previous service facility, and told him it was an 86 Fleetwood southwind. Made an appointment, first available was in 2 weeks. Didn't want to wait, but after problems with first facility, I wanted somebody reputable. Took the RV in in the morning, told the person at the counter said I needed to put a hold on the Pre Transfer Inspection until the smog cost was estimated, since we needed to get pricing on smog before deciding in further repairs. The person at the counter goes into the shop, comes out a bit later with another person, and they tell me they don't work on RVs older than 96, and they can't help me. No apologies. I say I told the original person ( service writer/office manager, who is on the phone this whole time) that it was an 86, and had spoken with him at length about the RV. His reply is that all he can say is he's sorry, and that they don't do smog on pre 96 rv's, and recommends another facility. He's not rude, but is truly minimally apologetic about their error. This also happened immediately after I said I needed to postpone the more expensive service (the PTI). So yes this place has an excellent reputation, seem to have some of the best facilities available, and are a high volume, large, well established place, but my interaction with them was pretty unsatisfactory. read more

We have found ourselves returning every couple months to fix things on our large R.V. that were not but should have been done right the first time, Jose (service writer) is so non caring. He will never call you with an update, you have to call them. If they say one week, expect 3 or more. We have finally broken away from that horrible service and moving on. I needed help selling my 2009 fifth wheel toy hauler, so contacted several different RV sales companies for help. Most just offered a low ball price, which was way lower than I knew it was worth. SD RV has a very good program where you are involved in setting the sales price. They do a complete evaluation of the RV to make sure everything works, and will fix anything that needs fixing. They do a thorough cleaning and then advertise it for sale at the agreed price. After the sale is done they keep a small percentage as commission. They also handle all the DMV paperwork. At then end I netted more than the low ball offers I had from the other companies. Sam was easy to contact and made the whole process easy. read more

THEY ARE AMAZING!! Our motorhome broke down on the way to the campground. We had it towed to San Diego rv center and asked them if there was anything they could do to get us back on the road. At first they didn't think they could, as it liked pretty bad, but they all stopped what they were doing an helped us out instantly! We are done with this place....poor communication, poor time scheduling, shoddy work and highway robbery!!! We have been customers for years and are tired of being treated like 3rd class citizens.....Damages started showing up on our trailer while our trailer was in their care and when we notified them about this they basically told us "there is no way that happened here"...If you had a wonderful experience with this business--kudos to you!!! Great overall experience! After calling around town to several RV service centers, SD RV had the earliest available service appointment. And, that is not because they are not busy. They are full of vehicles with tons of work going on in the bays and lots. My service advisor was Jose and he was very patient with all my questions, and was very informative on how they were going to fix my rig, and how long it would take. I had two service requirements. The first one was an insurance claim for a smashed A/C unit as a result of misjudging an overpass. SD RV Center (Jose) worked very quickly with my insurance company, updated the estimate, and ordered the parts immediately. They were also able to find a lower profile A/C unit for the same price as the original, so now my overall height is a little safer for those low overpasses. Just seemed extraordinarily smooth compared to other insurance claims I have experienced. My other service need was some challenging cosmetic work on an interior slide woodwork that I peeled off when some books fell into the path of the slide on the way out. Another rookie move by a new RV owner. SD RV did a great job and it looks like new. I give SD RV Center and Jose two thumbs up! read more

Last week my wife and I were in our RV,we have a 2005 Fleetwood Jamboree 26Q. We were hooked to electricity but nothing else was turned on. The propane was not on we, had a problem with the Propane Detector. (it was the original detector.) I called several RV Parts houses and dealers, no one had one in stock, and they all said it would be 7 to 14 working days to get one.(being as the model we had was no longer made.) I called a dealer in San Marcos,also called Camping World. They both had to order the part. Camping World said it would be a month before they could replace the detector. The dealer I called said it would be 90 days before they could squeeze us in to replace it because we did not buy our rV from them. I called SDRVC, Jose was able to order one and have it next day. We were staying in a campground in Aguanga, CA. We drove to El Cajon to get this part replaced. they do great work they have also helped us twice before. read more

I have a T@b teardrop micro trailer. When the local dealer went out of business, I didn't know of any source for maintenance or repair. Needing some electrical work done, I called around to the local businesses. SDRV was the only place that said they'd worked on this type. I brought it in on a Friday. By next Tuesday it was finished! Their work was clean and thorough, and they checked every detail I requested. Everyone I contacted was cheerful and helpful, from the office staff to the garage crew. Their labor rates are comparable to others locally, and the price of the parts they installed were standard. Given their quality of service, they will be my preferred go to place, even though it is 25 miles away! read more

Went to this RV center for a rust problem on roof. Got a quote for work to be performed. Made an appointment, dropped vehicle off on a Monday morning. Called back Thursday morning to learn of progress. Was told vehicle would not begin service until Monday of the following week. Not acceptable! I should have been leary about this dealership when I called twice to have a written estimate mailed to me, which was never done. Nor, were my phone calls returned. Bad business practice. Will take my RV elsewhere for service, and will discourage others from going there. read more

My husband and I broke down on the interstate and were lucky enough to be towed to San Diego RV Center. We'd been traveling the country in the RV and were living in our RV. Long story short, we needed a new engine and were given a few options on different repairs with different cost levels. Based on our use and intended use for the future, we opted for the new engine. SD RV put an electric cord through the front fence for us and we were able to spend the entire month of November 2014 right on the street. We left for a week on a cruise while they had the RV in the shop for the actual work on replacing the engine. Upon our return, it wasn't quite finished, so they put an RV out on the street that we were able to stay in until ours was complete. I can't say enough about all these guys, everyone went above and beyond. They even invited us into the shop for Thanksgiving dinner with them!!! We just went and picked up our motorhome. We were so, so happy with what we saw! They did a spectacular job on the new Rhino-line Roof , they painted one of the sides where the clear coat was coming off, fixed our slide rubber, put on a new satellite dish, fixed the stairs and the tow plug!
