I received excellent, thorough care from Dr. Ashley and the rest of the staff. After my visit, they followed up with me multiple times urging me to get further treatment immediately. I came back because I really liked the Dr. she's very communicative and she actually listens. Very important for a healthcare provider. To be heard. Came here for drug screen. Checked in at 3:30 and was done at 4:43. Wait time was long, enviornment was not the cleanest, small lobby and the guy that helped with the process seems like he had to be some where so he was rushing me and was not speaking clearly on instructions. I guess it's okay to work and have air pods. While care for patients. Would not schedule anything here again. Do better please or find a profession you like don't take it out on people. Wanted to leave a 5-star Yelp review for East County Urgent Care. I had made a 12 pm appointment (reservation) for Saturday, Jan.31 (for a Department of Transportation physical) via e-mail earlier during the week, and they were very cordial and responsive, which I appreciated a lot. I came in a bit early for my appointment (lots of free ample parking) and the person at the front desk was very cordial, friendly, professional, experienced, very helpful, and had me processed for the intake (filling out necessary forms, both on an iPad and paper), and then I provided a urine sample as required. The facilities are modern and up kept well. After payment (they accept insurance, credit card, cash), I went in for vital signs and then prepped to be seen by the doctor for my physical in a private exam room. The nurse or medical assistant that did my vital signs, eye exam, etc. and other preliminary tests was also highly cordial, friendly, professional, experienced, and very helpful. Soon, Dr. Carmen Carneiro came into the exam room and did my thorough and complete DOT physical, and she was super awesome and professional and experienced. She was able to answer any and all medical questions you had as well. After changing and going back to the lobby, I was given the required paperwork and checked out with the front desk. It's been a great and wonderful experience, and I would highly recommend East County Urgent Care for your DOT physicals, if needed, as well as other services. I made an appointment yesterday (12/2) to be seen today (12/3). Filled out the registration form, indicated that I am currently a service member, inputted my military information with no problem. The next day (today), I came in and checked in 15 minutes early to be seen by the doctor. As I was waiting, I was told because I am currently a service member, they were not able to see me; they only see dependents and veterans. Why wasn't that indicated on their website? Or after I've filled out my information, they had a day to inform me, rather than letting me know last minute. I walked in and filled out all the paperwork. People that came in after me with no appointment were called ahead of me. An hour and a half later they called me back. Took my blood pressure weight and eyesight test. I was left in the room for twenty minutes. No other patients in the lobby. I had enough and walked out. My office experience with front desk was awful. The two girls working in the front desk were unprofessional and had attitudes. I called a hour before walking in spoke with a girl named Marlene, asking if they take my insurance for my 9 year old daughter and they said yes. I showed up and then they told me in person they don't see kids. I wouldn't have wasted my time and showed up if they would've told me that in the first place over the phone, they didn't even apologize for the miscommunication and the lady kept rolling her eyes and her neck very dramatic. They should have cameras in the front and recordings for the phone calls so they could see how bad their workers are in the front office. read more

Made an appt at 8am, they told me they had my paperwork.... When I got here, they had no paperwork and I had to fix their problem as they lied to me about receiving my paperwork from my employer. I had an infection under a root canal that had become so painful I had to go to urgent care. I set up a reservation the night before and was able to fill out the paperwork online before arriving. The wait was 30 minutes. The doctor, though not a dentist, was able to confirm the infection and prescribed me antibiotics, which immediately reduced the pain. My expectation were not high upon visiting urgent care. Long waits and sub par medical service is what is standard. The process started well and the receptionist was very polite and professional. I waited 1.5 hours to be seen by the doctor. My issue is that I then waited another 30 minutes in the waiting room for the doctor or nurse practitioner to arrive. Upon the Nurse Practitioner Monica arriving in the room she complained of her back injury and sat down to exam my injury. Before she actually examined my injury, she went on a litany of other medical "issues" I had and how I needed to fix them. I was not there to be berated on my "issues and conditions" but to have medical care given for an injury. 10 minutes of listening to her speak on everything else but my injury we finally arrived at the injury. She looked at it said I needed a prescription and then left. So I waited over 2 hours just to be told I needed a prescription and then told of all of my issues. If you absolutely have to go here then go, but be forewarned of 2+ hour wait time and sub par medical practice. To say nothing of the even worse bedside manner. read more

Check in - TERRIBLE, SLOW, UN-informative. (And I booked online) Wait time- HORRIBLE, even with an appointment, and zero follow up with you as to why. In room- DIRTY, dead bugs everywhere. We were there 3 days ago for skin test came back 3 days later for reading since we we were 15 min. They said that the reading time was overdue. Really? What's gonna change on skin reading for 15 min? They told us to be back after 7 days to retake and will get charge again for fees. Otherwise to have a chest xray to get an earlier result. This urgent clinic is sucks they never give a reminder slip. So we should have gone there earlier. Freaking 15 min late they won't honor it. But if they are busy you have to wait longer! I checked in at 9:22 AM. I was told I had the option to wait in my car and would be texted when they were ready for me. I called at 10:30 AM to check my place in line as I had been waiting for a little over an hour in my car. Receptionist on the phone told me they had tried to contact me but I literally have no record of a phone call or text. When I finally went inside the Xray Tech was very kind and quick. Unfortunately, due to the lack of attentiveness and "care" from either receptionists what could have been a 10 minute visit turned into a waiting game of over an hour. Mind you, the receptionist on the left (facing the desk) was kind from the start but the one sitting on the right made me feel like it was my fault that I was waiting that long. The staff were awesome. I needed a physical and urinalysis done for work but I also needed some immunizations done as well. They were able to explain everything to me clearly and made it easy to understand. For a busy clinic, they were still very efficient at getting people back there within a timely manner. I don't know what's happened to the health care industry, but this particular location definitely does not care about their patients. Reservations don't matter so don't even bother. My wait with a reservation was 3hrs and they told me about half way through my wait that it was going to be at least another hour, even though the waitlist said 1 person ahead of me on the app. So I left and got a text they were ready, but because I was 10 minutes away, they wait listed me again. I will not come to this location again if my life depended on it, because I would probably die waiting, not that they care!!! read more

I had an awful headache to where all I wanted to do was lay down and sleep along with some other things going on, I decided to go to urgent care after weeks of pushing it off. Waited 1+ hour to be taken into the room by a lady. She asked why I was there and was writing down my symptoms yet seemed like she was not truly interested and was inching towards the door while I was still talking. She said someone would be right in, took another 25-30 minutes for the actual dr to come in and she was in the room for maybe 2/3 minutes total and told me there was nothing she could do or help me with any of my symptoms that I needed to go to my primary drs. Then she left and told me to stay in the room. After another 15 minutes of sitting there not sure why I asked the lady's out front why I was waiting. They said I needed paperwork and she was working on it right then. Another 10 minutes passed by and I yet again went out and asked if they could just email me the paperwork because at this point my headache had become way worse and I was upset at the lack of help I received. She still had not finished my paperwork in the 25 minutes after she left the room. Finally I got my paperwork back to just receive a paper that said "go to primary care doctor". 30 more minutes I sat with a pounding headache just to receive the same information I had already been told after waiting an hour+. Also has to pay $100 at the beginning of the visit, to just be told i need to go to my primary drs. Not even take alleve or us a heating pad. Now sitting at home still in pain with no idea how to fix it. Payed $100, spent 2+ hours of my day for nothing. the lack of help here is insane. read more

The customer service here is terrible. I came here for a drug, tb test, and physical. The wait time without an appt (appt is determined by employer) is hours. Got there a little before 10am and didn't get out til close to 1pm! There weren't even that many people in the waiting room. Maybe 4 or so? The girls at the desk have an attitude problem and it shows. Multiple people came in asking how long the wait will be and they didn't have an answer for them. What was called a physical, wasn't even a physical. The doctor came in, in a rush and asked me if I wore contact lenses which I did, asked me to touch my toes which I also did, and to put weight on his knuckles with my hands. The longest wait I've ever had for the urine drug test. The waiting is taking hours...checked-in at 3pm got seen at 5pm. I have never waited this long for a urine drug test. It was a walk-in but there were no appointments scheduled before me and other people (you can check your status on the app once you check-in) only two other walk in were in front of me.
