EEVMC loves the pets that they see and does whatever it takes to keep the veterinary practice at the cutting edge of technology We have taken our goldendoodle here for 11 years and he has always gotten the best of care for his health. From routine physicals to a few emergency visits, the staff, from front desk to the veterinarians, have been so accommodating and calming for our pup! They recently purchased the entire building that they are in and expanded their facility to have more space for the waiting area and for medical equipment. They routinely have new technicians and vets, including a seemingly routine amount of new graduates. The only reason that I'd take a way a star is that they recently installed new dental equipment to clean and pull pets teeth when they are unconscious. The rub was... for two years of visits... they pushed this service unreasonably aggressive. The first time... the vet that we were randomly assigned.. said that our dog's teeth were a major risk and tried to hand us a business card about the new dental procedure. As she reached in the drawer, the entire stock of cards was gone to her surprise. Needless to say, nothing has happened with his teeth and we never went back to Becky Ortiz VMD. We started requesting a specific veterinarian since then... and Ann Berner DVM has been amazing to our now senior pup. read more

I had a great experience at this vet overall. The doctor and vet tech were wonderful. They treated my cats like they were their own and were gentle with them. On my first visit to this vet, I provided feedback on my experience and they were extremely responsive and provided excellent support. My most recent visit was also great - Dr. Berner is fantastic; personable and knowledgeable and gentle with my boy. They were able to get us in same-day but the cost was higher ($105 vs approximately $75) just as a note. They were very upfront about this! This place is a scam. My puppy has been sick with bloody diarrhea for 3 weeks--we were asked to bring in a stool sample, which we did. They charged us $55 for the stool sample to tell us that he "maybe" has giardia. They gave us a 5 day course of the medication and he did not get any better. We called again to let them know that he was not getting any better--they did not ask to see him but rather gave us an RX for a bland diet and a probiotic for a total . His bloody diarrhea continued so we called to let them know and the vet tech, without consulting the vet, told us to "just take him to the emergency vet." We called back the next morning asking if they could see him to which they said it was unnecessary and to just drop off another stool sample. They gave us another set of the same antibiotics that again did not work. Finally we decided to take him to a different vet. They gave us a different anti biotic and he was cured in 6 days. Don't take your pet here--they simply just want your money. read more

I really liked taking my pets there due to the staff being so friendly. However, their prices are so high that I had to leave. It got to a point I was paying over 300 dollars every few weeks for my dog who had a slight ear infection. They kept wanting to see her back to recheck it even though she wasn't having any symptoms or touching it. I didn't feel as though they really cared about her ear, more so wanting to keep bringing me back to get money out of me. I understand paying for services when you have pets and I'm willing to do it but not hundreds of dollars every few weeks. read more

I have been taking my cats to this vet office for years, which is why I'm especially disappointed in the way their appointments have been going lately. All of the vets with any appreciable experience have cycled out, and every veterinarian there now is effectively new to the profession. Today was the last straw for me. My cat needs gabapentin to go to the vet, but he didn't display any aggressive behaviors in my sight beyond hissing. That said, the first time he hissed the veterinarian decided to forgo palpating his abdomen or checking his teeth, and he didn't even get weighed, though I was charged for a full exam. I understand wanting to protect yourself and your techs, but I feel that pets, especially after certain age, are entitled to proper veterinary care, and I feel certain there are protocols and interventions that should allow you to provide it to them. read more

Where to start? The first part of this clinic that won me over, at least 13 years ago, was that every single person who works here listens and has treated me like my feedback about my own pets' matters. I had never experienced that before. After visiting several clinics to help my dog lose weight, Dr Fisher at EE Vet took the time to really find the root of the problem, hence my boy lost 11 lbs. and as a result had a much healthier happier life. When this same dog recently became very ill at age 16+ Dr Berner went above and beyond to help him. She also helped me by being present as I went through that very difficult process in the last two months of his life. Dr Berner's skill and heart centered approached made me feel like my dog was important and so was I. Every single Vet Tech there over the years has been outstanding. And the receptionists have always, every time, been kind, friendly and caring. I am so grateful to have found East End Vet Hospital. They are the absolute best. read more

This is a long overdue review of this practice. I started bringing my oldest dog here when he was a puppy, fast forward 11 years later and the entire staff here has taken incredible care of our 3 dogs. My wife and I recently had to move out of state, but we miss this place (and the staff) dearly. They're professional and care about their furry patients so much. The place is clean and inviting, and I love their app. It makes ordering meds and setting appointments super easy. We've probably seen each doctor and tech and every single one has been great. East End vet is a friendly, professional clinic that handles our cat with care and love every time we go. I have a senior cat that needs a lot of attention and care. The doctors and nurses there are extremely patient when dealing with my cat. They give her plenty of treats and verbal encouragements. They always listened to all my concerns and answered each thoroughly. After a few days, doctors would even call me to check in on my cat again. We just had our cats in for their yearly check up and rabies vaccine. Everything was very nice. We were seen on time, actually early. I drive 45-60 minutes for our appts and I could go somewhere closer, especially with crying cats in the car, but we always come to EEVMC for their care. It's worth it. read more

Wow! I am new to PGH and brought my cat in for a new patient visit. From the moment I walked in it was a positive experience. The ladies at the front desk were so patient and helpful with getting his paperwork sorted. The tech was so good with Joey! She didn't rush him, was very gentle, and offered him plenty of treats which I'm sure made his visit much more enjoyable! Just when I thought it could not get any better the doctor came in and she was amazing! I can't say enough great things about East End. The front desk staff are awesome and the technicians are great, too. But it's Dr. Ortiz who has my undying gratitude. I have a 14 year old terrier with an ongoing issue that for some reason could not be addressed in California (we just moved here,) Dr. Ortiz took care of my old lady dog and was so kind. After being new to the area, I was looking forward to starting a relationship with a new vet. I took my 75 lb. pit bull/boxer mix to EEVMC for an annual checkup and to establish him as a regular patient as soon as possible. From the beginning, Dr. Nagle was rude, impatient, passive-aggressive, and disrespectful. My dog is active, incredibly friendly, healthy, and ordinarily extremely comfortable visiting the vet. I noticed how uncomfortable he was from the beginning and assumed it was because of the new surroundings. But after five minutes of being around Dr. Nagle, I realized he was afraid of her specifically. She scolded me for him being overweight (despite him being underweight when I took him to our regular vet 4 weeks earlier) and insisted he wears a muzzle. While I've never had any sort of aggression issues with him in the past, I told her that I understood but asked if I could put it on him. She ignored me and shoved it onto his face where he immediately started crying, panting, and pacing. She took him to the back to give him his shots and he was noticeably distressed when he came back into the room (tail between his legs, panting, hiding behind me, etc.). In his seven years, he has never acted like that at the vet. After coming on here to leave a review, I noticed that this is not the first time she's acted this way (especially toward pit bulls). None of my animals will be seeing Dr. Nagle again (or any vet at EEVMC) and I've made sure to share my experience with friends or family who are interested in finding vet care. My biggest regret is not listening to my instincts and walking out of there as soon as I started to feel concerned. read more

They treated our cat as she was dying from kidney failure and ultimately took us for an emergency euthanization. It was horribly painful to go through with but really necessary to put our little one out of her suffering. Their care during and after has been really stellar. You can tell they actually care, from front facing staff to doctors and nurses. If and when we have another pet they will be our go to spot for care and checkups. read more

Everyone has been very helpful at this office. I have never had issues with them running behind or off schedule. Dr Nagle has been our vet for many years along with vet tech Anne. Our cats are lucky to have such a good office to care for them. I found a bad lump( cancer) on my cat's face and they got us in quick to check him. We had to have surgery and he is 100% now. Me and my pup Winston just moved to Pittsburgh from Arizona, so we had a lot of questions and were probably not the easiest patients of the day. The vet tech was extremely kind and knowledgeable. When the doc got stuck in a prior appointment, the technician offered to stay with us and be sure all of our questions were answered to the best of his knowledge and Winston's charts included everything relevant to his medical history. Once the vet came in, she was extremely apologetic about the hold up and was also very sweet while caring for my pup. Both of them understood that he is a very fearful dog right away and did everything in their power to make him feel comfortable in a new, strange place, and while getting 4 shots! Would definitely recommend! Clean facility, awesome vets, and great online system. They know my pup by name and were so supportive and compassionate when we had an issue with Lucy's spay surgery from another vet clinic. I had my new puppy Lucy spayed at Penn Animal Hospital with no apparent complications. She had frequent UTI issues so when 6 months later she began to show signs of heat, they dismissed it as another UTI. I took her to East End Vet Center for a second opinion, and they immediately told me that she was, in fact, in heat -- meaning that when she was originally spayed, Penn Animal must have left a piece of her ovary in her abdomen. East End told me that they would have to perform another spay surgery to get the piece out but we would have to wait until she went through another heat cycle. They explained things so clearly and answered all of my questions patiently. We waited, Lucy wore diapers, it was a mess. Finally, it was time to get the piece out. When they began to perform the surgery, they found that Penn Animal had left AN ENTIRE OVARY inside of Lucy. Because of this mistake, Lucy had begun to form cysts on what was left of her uterus. The vets at East End removed the ovary and remaining piece of the uterus safely and successfully. They even took pictures for proof, which I used to ask Penn Animal for reimbursement. One year later, Lucy has had no more heat cycles and is a happy, healthy girl. We cannot thank East End Vet enough for their help in identifying the issue and for performing a successful re-do spay surgery. Seriously, THANK YOU! read more

I would give them 0 stars if I could. They discriminate against pitbulls. As soon as Dr. Nagle entered the room she told me to keep my dog away from her and on a leash because she was scared.... and she mentioned (that she had gotten bit a few weeks ago) which had nothing to do with me. She then pointed the finger at me for not medically sedating my dog before the visit and I told her " my dog knows what medicine tastes like and she will chew it up and spit it back out she's very smart" and in response she said " no your dog is not smart. She isn't smart" So not only did she not touch or pet my very friendly dog, she humiliated her so I stopped speaking with her and told her to get Dr Fischer and so he walked in the room ( also my first time seeing him ) and he told me and my dog to leave. No apology... didn't even ask me what the problem was... and when I told him what the nurse said to me he looked at me and said " she didn't say that" Now it is the next day & I called to speak to someone about my experience and the lady at the front desk said she didn't want to hear about it and hung up on me. read more

I've been coming with my dog Whiskey since I rescued him in 2010, and they have always taken wonderful care of us! We see both Dr. Fisher and Dr. Cangin who have always both been lovely to us. The entire staff is fantastic, from Pat at the front desk to all of the assistants. Whiskey is a HUGE baby about the vet visits, but they're always patient and they explain everything very well. It's a bit pricey compared to the vets I've seen in the suburbs, but on par for Pittsburgh from what others have said. Plus, they always advise me on ways to save money (like ordering something online) and what is and isn't necessary. They have always been accommodating, whether we need to get in that day, reschedule an appointment or are running a few minutes late. Anyone who is nice to my dog is great in my book, and the team at East End Vet always is! read more

Went for six years and largely had good experiences. An emergency happened and the receptionist staff was woefully ill-equipped and frankly, not concerned. The doctors were not concerned. No phone calls back. No offer to schedule an appointment. When issues become tough and you desperately need follow-up care for your dog, I highly recommend you go elsewhere. They don't care. They don't respond. They don't make the time. They are at capacity and management issues clearly have compromised quality care. It makes me sad to give a 1-star review to a business to whom I've been loyal for 5 years. Let me qualify this review by saying that one of the two vets in the practice, Dr. Fisher, is wonderful: scientifically knowledgeable, empathetic, and has a great bedside manner. I sincerely wish he would switch to a different veterinary office-- I would consider following him there. My problem with East End is the other vet, Dr. Andrea Cangin. She has shown what I consider negligence on two occasions which could have resulted in the death of two different cats, and may well have contributed to lasting and severe health problems for them both: 1) She accidentally prescribed twice the dose of phenobarbitol to my cat, who has had epilepsy for many years. It took me about a month to figure out why he was acting so sedated and remedy the problem, and it is unclear if the wrong dosing resulted in serious liver or other damage. 2) She approved the use of a common flea and tick medication for a friend's dog, and neglected to mention that it is DEADLY poisonous to cats. You can see where this is going: my friend's cat groomed it off their dog, and nearly died. He had multiple seizures and has been in critical condition at the emergency vet for the past 4 days. He is coming home, but is still very sick. No one has any idea about the lasting neurological and other health consequences for my friend's kitty. After this second incident, I can no longer give my business to East End-- despite my fondness for Dr. Fisher--and I plan to do my part to warn people away from Dr. Cangin. One instance, while disturbing, could be a mistake (no one is perfect), but two seems to be a pattern of carelessness with potentially fatal consequences for pets. A cursory glance at the other negative Yelp reviews seems sadly consistent with this perception of Dr. Cangin (I noticed one other review describing a prescription mistake). I also can't help but notice that pretty much all the positive Yelp reviews are about Dr. Fisher and the admin staff specifically. I'm relieved to say I have an appointment for my cat at another vet clinic soon. read more

I was really optimistic about East End based on all the reviews here. My first impression was pretty good--the staff were all friendly, and Dr. Cangin quickly diagnosed my puppy's conditions. However, I was told the wrong dosage of medication (both verbally and in writing), and nobody caught it until I called in a week later asking why I had run out of medicine. If the medicine had been toxic in large doses, my puppy could have been seriously hurt, or even killed. To add insult to injury, Dr. Cangin told me there was no guarantee it wouldn't happen again, and I would probably be more comfortable going elsewhere. Final impression: unprofessional and downright dangerous to pets. I will definitely be going elsewhere. read more

I'm extremely disappointed with Dr. Nagle at East End Vet today. She is not his regular doctor. I have been taking all my pets there for over 10 years and never had an issue until today. My cat came in for wheezing, cough, and severe constipation and ALL she talked about was his weight. And how sad she was for him and how he didn't have a good life. WTF??? My cats are both happy, play every day, and are super loved like my own kids. I kept bringing her back to the acute issues at hand - the wheezing and constipation and she kept coming back to his weight. I finally told her to STOP scolding me and let's deal with what can be done NOW. I told her he was straining and gasping when trying to go potty and AGAIN she went back to his weight. AND she said he didn't seem distressed. OMG. I told her IN THE LITTER BOX, he's distressed then. I told her to DO AN XRAY and see what can be done NOW, TODAY. She did the x-ray and told me he was "severely constipated." REALLY? That's what I was trying to tell her for the hour he was there. She said they couldn't treat him, they were closing in an hour, and he had to go to EMERGENCY CARE, and that I should have brought him in sooner. REALLY? NO ONE at East End suggested I take him to the ER and I took the earliest appointment they had. My cat is now in the Animal Hospital . I will NEVER allow Dr. Nagle to come near my pets again. It's taken me a while to write this review, because I lost my sweet li'l pal Wulph in the fall. But, East End Vet and Dr. Fisher were absolutely wonderful and completely there for me from start to finish. These people genuinely care about animals. Aside from the fact that their facility is green, clean, and convenient, Dr. Fisher went SO above and beyond for me and my dog, who, it turned out, had canine cancer. I won't go into too much detail, because I don't want to cry on my laptop, but Dr. Fisher performed every test he could at their clinic, allowed me to email him iPhone-shot video of my dog's abnormal breathing, took my panicked phone calls and calmly answered my questions, performed an extra test for free when I was trying to keep my mounting vet bills in check -- and preparing for what I knew would be monumental ones when we inevitably had to go to a vet hospital -- and, after my sweet little Wulph was gone, I received both a card and a phone call with their condolences. I was truly touched by the caring staff at East End, and every pet I have will be their patient. Rest in peace Wulphman. We miss you! read more

We've been taking our dog here for a few years. Thankfully, we've only ever had to come here for routine visits and a couple of non-serious issues (knock on wood), so I can't really comment on their skill at diagnosing or treating complicated diseases. But for routine care, they've been adequate. Our dog has seen both Dr. Cangin and Dr. Fisher. I think both have a great bedside manner and are really good at explaining dog health issues to ensure that you have all of the relevant information. Also, their main receptionist Pat is one of the warmest and kindest people you will ever meet. She is such an asset to their veterinary practice. Unfortunately, the few other younger ladies who also work the front desk aren't so pleasant. So keep your fingers crossed that Pat answers the phone when you call! The main reason I'm only giving them 3 stars is because they are very expensive. I know that they're in Shadyside and they have a "green" building and that all of that stuff equates to higher prices. But I'm just not sure that they are necessarily worth the extra money. I also don't like the fact that every year during our routine annual visit, they usually give me the hard sell for doing a Lyme's test for my dog, even though we live in a non-wooded area and he's on flea and tick meds year-round. Maybe it *is* technically best practice (even if he's very low risk), but they sort of make me feel like a terrible dog mom if I say no, so I usually agree to it (and of course he never ends up having it). I don't like that kind of pressure. Also, I recently took my dog in because he was having back issues. We saw Dr. Cangin, and she couldn't really tell me for sure what was wrong with him during that visit, so she had me book another visit with Dr. Fisher, who is better at musculo-skeletal things. It was kind of annoying to have to come in (and pay) twice for the same issue, and I never really got a definitive answer from either doctor. As it turns out, I ended up later figuring out the issue on my own (it was his skin causing the pain -- sensitivity to his flea meds -- not a muscular issue, which was the doctors' guess). Overall, they get the job done (at least for routine or minor care), but just know that you'll probably end up paying more than you need to. read more

I took my dog here for a checkup after we adopted him and WOW we paid a lot more than we would've elsewhere. Welcome to Shadyside! We got charged $13 for antibiotics (which we could have gotten for much less or free at Giant Eagle's Pharmacy. The option was never given to me). Dr. Cangin recommended this really expensive flea + tick + heartworm medicine, and the woman at the front desk gave me her own advice and said to just use K9 Advantix and Heartgard since the medicine the vet recommended was expensive and made the other receptionist's dog sick. Say what now? Talk about conflicting. I was charged $25 for 'Cytology - Otic' which was swabbing his ears and checking the samples with a microscope for infection, $40 for ear ointment to treat a yeast infection in the dog's ear (not sure this could have been cheaper elsewhere), and $49 for 'Exam - Problem Oriented'. Whatever that means other than $CHA-CHING$ The round of antibiotics we got was only for 14 days and didn't knock out his skin infection. It came back with a vengeance not long after the antibiotics were through. When we took him to the clinic at the ARL 3 weeks later they couldn't believe EEVMC didn't give us steroids to reduce the inflammation from his scratching in addition to a longer round of antibiotics. Which explains why he never stopped scratching and the infection never had time to go away, or his skin time to heal. We were pretty unimpressed. To top it off, when we called for a second appointment after his skin inflammation got WAY worse they couldn't get us an appointment for 4 days. I get that they're busy but are you really going to allow my dog to scratch himself raw for a superfluous amount of time because you're booked?? You can't possibly squeeze me in somewhere? I would have taken any appointment at any time with no notice. The ARL was much more accommodating, and we only paid $15 for our appointment there since it was our first appointment after adopting him. They still would have been cheaper either way, though. Pretty meh about this vet, as convenient as its location may be. read more

Brought my two dogs here for the first time last week during the evening after receiving a recommendation from a friend. She suggested Dr. Fisher. We needed annual shots and to have a bump checked out on one dog. We didn't have to wait too long after checking in to be seen by the vet tech. She was super friendly. The wait for the Dr. to come wasn't too terrible. He had a good bedside manner. Definitely a bit more challenging when you have two medium/large dogs at once! He did his best to keep them calm while he did their exam and gave them their shots. After looking at the bump on my one dog, he had an idea of what it was but did a fine needle aspirate just in case. Thankfully it wasn't anything to be worried about after looking at it through the microscope. He also told me that my dog will probably develop more in the future. Which is good to know because of course I freak out at the slightest bump! Pros: evening weekday and weekend appointments large lobby (one of my dogs is dog reactive) personable/knowledgeable staff free subscription to Petly, online vaccine/calendar/reminder type site Cons: $350 for two wellness checks, vaccines (not all, as one was still good on a few), and the fine needle aspirate Parking could be tricky, on street parking and they said there is a lot behind an alley, but if you have a reactive dog like me, and need to go in and check the lobby first, could potentially be a pain read more

After seeing all of the positive reviews, I was quite surprised when I witnessed their care first hand. My friend's dog (who is a client of EEVMC) was diagnosed with lyme disease and subsequent decreased kidney function -diagnosed at EEVMC When he lost use of his hind legs, my friend called to try to get an appointment. The level of compassion which received her was horrendous. A very cold receptionist simply informed her that there was no way her dog could be seen right away, even though most vets give priority to obviously ill or injured dogs. No suggestion to go to the emergency vet or to come in and wait. Just "no." To add insult to injury, they prescribed 200 mg daily of the NSAID Rimadyl to ease his pain. Rimadyl can cause effects to the kidneys and liver. The same clinic that diagnosed his kidneys were not functioning at full capacity prescribed a pain reliever that has been shown to directly affect the kidneys. This shows poor follow through. Fortunately she went for a second opinion, and the second vet took him off of the Rimadyl. read more

My former vet was taken over by VCA. I didn't like the rules changes, the prices and many of the new procedures, so I was on the hunt for a new veterinary clinic for my dogs. I asked my friends on Facebook for a suggestion and East End Veterinary Center won, so I tried out Dr. Cangin and Dr. Fisher. I have been thrilled! I have two dogs -- a 14 year old large breed mutt with arthritis and melanoma and a 5 year old pitt bull who is just totally healthy. Drs. Cangin and Fisher keep them healthy, are very caring and obviously love animals, which is extremely important! My older dog is also under care for her melanoma at PVSEC. Both doctors at East End are careful not to interrupt her cancer care in any way keeping in touch with the cancer specialist all the time. The East End physicians work with me as to the type of care my dogs receive, give me options, and explain everything. I've cared for dogs since I was 5. I'm not new to dogs. We talk at my level. When you are an animal person, dog, cat, bird or otherwise, you make a good, caring vet as has Drs. Cangin and Fisher. I know my dogs are happy to be at East End. Helpful, knowledgable and cheery receptionists Pat and Mae start the process always knowing the right questions to ask and do their best to put my dogs at ease, which is never easy. They do a great job. The loving techs seem to melt when they see my dogs. They are efficient, taking care of my animal's needs. My large dog never wants to go with anyone if I'm not walking along with her and the techs understand. I have found some veterinarians who have been vets too long, don't like animals anymore and who make the process of caring for pets problematic. They should retire. I have been going to EEVMC, and specifically, Dr. Fisher, since I brought my first American Mastiff, Kingston, there as a pup. I had been calling around, looking for the right vet, and when Pat answered the phone, I think my decision was made right then and there. She made me feel like my puppy was the last one on earth, and when she said she couldn't wait to meet him, I believed her. Pat is more than a receptionist, she is welcoming committee, cheerer upper, and information, all in one! Just yesterday, I called because someone came into my work, concerned about the baby squirrel they found abandoned and unable to walk. Pat had the name and number of the Wildlife Rescue organization right on the top of her head, and added personal knowledge of how good said baby squirrel would be taken care of there. My good experiences haven't stopped in the waiting room though, the receptionists, the techs, and Dr. Fisher are all great! Dr. Fisher gets down on the floor with your dog, gives lots of cuddles, and makes the whole visit enjoyable. He listens to you, and does not give off the "I'm the vet, I make the decisions" vibe. He allows you to be a partner in your pet's care, and takes your concerns and thoughts seriously. He has even taken the time to email me more information, after my appt, about a concern I was having with my dog. I really appreciate the care my pups get at EEVMC, and even though I have moved 40 minutes away, it's worth the drive. read more

If I had to describe East End in one word it would be "integrity." Dr. Fisher is incredibly knowledgable and genuinely cares about each animal that walks through those doors. He's very good at explaining each specific course of action you can take, and gives you an honest and informed list of the pros and cons of each. They will never try to sell you extra procedures your pet doesn't need or try candy coat bad news. Pat, the main receptionist, is probably one of the sweetest and most hard-working people I've ever met. I could not recommend this establishment any higher. read more

I took my two middle aged cats here as a nee customer in oct 2022. I saw dr Kramer. She was incredibly nice and thorough. She answered all of my questions, no matter how silly or overly concerned I seemed. The vet tech was also very kind and patient with my two girls. My one cat is significantly shyer than the other and she handled her very gently and slowly as to not frighten her and I really appreciate that. My shy girl had an ekg and dental surgery done in December and I was so nervous the entire morning. They called me right away when her surgery was done to let me know all went well. I didn't have to keep worrying all day about my cat. The price for the ekg and dental was much cheaper than I anticipated which was great. I also enjoy the app this vet has to keep track of your pets wellness exams, surgeries, and upcoming visits they will need. Overall, I would definitely recommend this vet. The staff is very polite and kind and patient with the animals and us owners. The pricing is good for a private vet office. I'm happy I switched to this vet and will definitely be bringing my pets back here for the foreseeable future. read more

I've been taking our cat here for three years, ever since she was 3 months old. She was spayed and chipped here. They're a little over-priced, and we seem to always have to wait at least 15 minutes once we get in the room, but I've never had any issues with the staff or the care of my cat. read more

I recently got a young feral kitten who wasn't eating, and I was worried about her being taken from her mother too soon. I called every veterinary clinic in Pittsburgh and none could see my kitten and I for weeks. When I called East End, their receptionist was immediately willing to help me and showed concern for my pet like no other clinic had. I had my kitten there a half hour later and the receptionist showed me how to properly care for my young kitten. While I didn't receive veterinary services from one of their vets, I would 100% bring both of my cats back based solely on the kindness and care I was shown from the receptionist and everyone I came in contact with while I was there. read more

We got a puppy in January so have had the new experience of having the same vet for every milestone and appointment, and she has been great every time. The front staff are super friendly, offer lots of treats, and clearly adore animals. Dr. Cangin answers all my new-parent questions with tons of information, offers advice and recommendations which have all proven to be great, and will be loved by my dog again as soon as the visits become less often and less intrusive. The pup was just neutered/microchipped and his scar is tiny, the surgery was smooth, and they kept me updated all along the way. Everything you want in a doctor. Finally, they have an interactive website so I can access and keep up to date with my dog's medical history and appointments online, a nice luxury. read more
