There are a lot of interesting and unusual vendors here, but my favorite is the six booths occupied by Henry Crenshaw, whose Big D Books and Comics was one of my favorite haunts in the 1980s. He's managed to recreate the store and it's just as stacked and labyrinthine as the old place. There are comics, paperbacks, pulp novels and many other collectibles. Handwritten notes and doodles are everywhere, including one that says his family has sold one book or comic every week since 1954. I kept the streak alive by picking up an old Cerebus comic, which is fitting because the store where I originally discovered Dave Sim's classic indie was Big D when it was still on Garland Road. This "antique" mall is more like a flea market. It just doesn't have a nice feel to it and has mostly junk vendors and just looks dirty. The bathroom had no soap or paper towels. Lots of booths have "going out of business sales" and many have 50% to 90% off sales. Of course it's a gimmick because their items are wildly overpriced. I didn't find anything to buy when I shopped over and hour. If you're nearby and want to kill some time, it's okay for that but no option like a tea room or place to grab a snack. ** If you're a vendor and curious about booth fees a small booth is just over $200 with maintenance fees. You pay credit card fees and they have employees to walk the mall. read more

The woman with the zebra striped hair, who is a cashier, is rude and condescending. She is unhelpful and has a bad attitude. If you want to buy overpriced garage sale items this is the place because that's what you will mostly find at this mall. It is a large mall, crammed with stuff. The sellers over price their items, but have signs in their booth offering discounts that still leaves the cost to buyers too high for the quality. read more

I've been in the East Fork Mall twice now in the last year with two of my young adult daughters. We all loved it! A great mixture of old and older and newer older :). It's a flea market / antique mall feel with many different booths with different discounts. I still haven't been through the whole thing. Check out is a little slow if theyre busy due to taking stickers off and applying to the correct booth. But it's fun and we enjoyed our time and got some great finds!. This antique mall is a hidden gem, with reasonable pricing, that makes it an antique mall secret! The shopping mall is about 2 football fields wide, the hallways are roomy & clean, with NO tripping hazards. They have lots of savvy vendors that carry vintage/restored items, & unique handmade products. Sales staff & management are friendly & vendors are able to negotiate - buyers can make their own sale price. I love the mall but don't go close to quitting time. I arrived at 4:15 and a lady announced at least 15 times that it closed at 5:00. I put my returned my items to their booths and left at 4:40. If you need to be gone by 5:00 then close at 4:30 and don't announce over the PA evert 2 minutes you are closing. I will never go back in the afternoon. read more

I love to go to antique malls and stores. This is definitely hands down best in Forney area. I love to go every couple months and more if I can. Things turn over so fast I can always find new treasures. The staff is very friendly. I went in and bought some old airplanes for my sons 16th Birthday and when checking out I told the clerk what they were for. She said she had tissue paper and a bag. She made it look so cute. They also let our fur babies come! That's right! They are welcome. My baby is small so it is easy to put her in the cart. Things are compact so I would not take my large dog as she doesn't realize her happy tail will take out items and cause me to buy much more than I had attended. read more

Staff in here is snotty and rude. They act like you are going to steal something. You can hardly ever find the owner of the stall, you have to go searching for someone to open a key. The woman never smiled, never asked how we were, never said hello. Just seem irritated she had to wait on us. read more

Absolutely HUGE! The complex looks like different buildings with different offerings but they're connected! The selection was varied between old-world class and flea-market finds. One thing I noticed as well was the amount of vintage and old clothing being sold. I see that as a bonus even though it's not my thing. I would say the most abundant items were kitchenware (dishes/plates/cup sets) as well as old signs, art and furniture. I enjoyed my 2 hour browse and cannot wait to return. I have not been to East Fork since before Christmas when it appeared there were some empty booths and some tired-looking antiques. Now, there are many new and exciting tenants (some have moved from other malls) and there is a cross-section of collectibles. I spent a long time looking and I enjoyed talking with some of the dealers who were putting out fresh items. I will definitely return soon - it was worth the trip. read more

The manager of this place is a terrible person. She treats people like dirt for absolutely no reason whatsoever and then lies about it afterwards. When a complaint was lodged with the owner, he told me to stop shopping here (I've heard the manager and owner are close friends -so I guess this doesn't surprise me). I've spent thousands of dollars here and many of the vendors are very lovely people. However, now I'll never go back and would urge other shoppers to avoid this place. Had a great experience, and loved so many items! There's a huge selection with tons of vendors! Some prices were a bit high, but there were tons of affordable items! The selection wasn't the only great thing, the people working were so nice and helpful. Got me all the supplies I would need to restore some of the wood items I bought, really went above and beyond to help me. They helped me pack my car like a gypsy and was so helpful from beginning to end! I can't wait to return!! read more

Love this place. LOTS of booths. Always sales. Some booths are neat, others are cluttered. This place has ALL sorts of things including depression glass, pottery, plates, records and more. Wear shorts in the summer - it's not super air conditioned. This place is LOADS of fun to just hunt and dig in. read more

Sad to say but this place has gone downhill fast. Supposedly, the new manager raised the rents not on just new booths but on vendors that had been there for years. Now, vendors are leaving fast and furious. I've been going there for 20 years and it was probably the best antique mall for affordable stuff. Now, most of the great vendors have left and the store has begun filling in empty booths (and there are a lot) with their overpriced ceramics, furniture, books and junk. I used to go there 2 or 3 times a month and after this last visit, it will now be more like once every 2 or 3 months. read more

Hellow Public: As of May 31, 2015 these people at the East Fork Antique Mall have declined to refund my money. I urge anyone that has shopped there to be very cautious, especially on a large item. Only pay with a credit card. I ususally do, but that day I had cash. I am waiting to hear back from the Attorney Generals office. If you have shopped there in the past and have feel you have been ripped off, urge you to contact the Attorney Generals office. Again, please read this letter in it's entirety. March 9, 2015 RE: Refund $217.50 plus tax for purchase at East Fork Mall, Sunnyvale Texas Bernie: Recently, as you know, we purchased a corner bookcase from your booth, which was full of wood- boren beatle holes, literally hundreds of them, primarily located under the wood shelves, and not detectable as the shelf sit in it's upright position. After picking up the bookcase, and reaching our home destination, we noticed the front leg wobbly with added screws on the front top of the leg. After looking under the piece, we then noticed the many attempts where someone had poorly attempted to "wood putty" the holding support, but the support was rotted away. After further investigation, we seen various other areas in the shelving and support areas, that had also been wood puttied. With the unit still in our car, we noticed a small insect come from under one of the supports, I do not have any idea what it was, other than what looked like a "hard shelled" insect about 1/8" in length, very small. It went back into the bookshelf under the support it came from, and I could not get it to come back out. Again, I do not know what it was. I can only speculate. We immediately contacted you, via phone, and you denied it having any damage, and said if it did have damage to get an insecticide and treat it if it bothered us. There is no way we would jeopardize putting it in our home, risking infestation to the inside of our house. We immediately took it back to the mall. The attendant (who came out and inspected it herself) said she would not put it in her home and didn't understand why you wouldn't take it back. You offered no resolution to the issue, as well as the owner of the mall, who was subsequently was notified, and basically hid behind the "no return policy". Amazingly, you have 4-5 other of these bookshelves in your booth, although not a corner shelf, made no offer for an exchange. After hearing the attendant on the phone once we retuned, answer questions from you, it was told to us to "dispose of it or throw it away if we didn't want it". After hearing a following conversation from the owner, where we heard the store attendant say as a response "they paid with cash" really put in focus what we were to expect. I asked if that conversation was with the owner, and the attendant replied "yes". I was told to call the owner the next day. I actually went back to the mall the following day. Once again, the owner hid behind the no return policy, but did say to get back with you regarding a refund. It became apparent at this time the each one of you were pitting me against the other. I got a receipt at the mall for the bookcase being in the mall's possession. We attempted to e-mail you that evening, but you and the owner both declined to respond. We were not told about damage to the bookshelf, and actually, with my wife as a witness, you described the bookshelf as "something similar that people shop at Ikea for, but I could get it here for less" . We expected this piece to be of reasonable quality, not made up of junk boards, and have the ability to support items we would be putting on it, and not a potential hazard to our home with beatle infestations. Bernie, here is the problem you are facing, as well as the mall. The price scams you and others in the mall use are illegal, besides non disclosure on this bookshelf as having damage, you are violating the Texas Deceptive Trade Act, covered by purchases in any retail establishment. East Fork Mall is a retail establishment, as it collects taxes for the city and state for sales tax. Any consumer is covered by this Act. Your price of $1199, as you know, is a fictitious price, 3-400 hundred percent more than a fair market value for that item, with a 75% reduction. The problem is, having shopped in the mall many times in the past, your booth(s) have everything over inflated 3-4 hundred percent, with an all inclusive 75% PRICE REDUCTION, ALL THE TIME. You never stipulate only certain items are on sale, with a sale duration period, but include everything in your booth(s). You may or may not be aware of it, but State law is clear, under the Texas Deceptive Trade Act, you must list these items you have over exaggerated in price first at a regular price , for a reasonable length of time, then run a sale.
