Thanks to Hal at this Fixit Ace Hardware at Peachtree Battle for taking care of me. I walked in around 11:11am on a Wednesday and was back in my car at 11:18am with what I needed: five copied keys. Hal greeted me as soon as I entered. He asked how he could help me. As he walked me back to the key counter, he asked if I wanted any special keys such as keys in different colors. I said no, I just needed plain keys. The keys cost me $2.29 each. The total for the five keys after tax was $12.47. I've usually gotten my keys copied at Bates Ace Hardware on Howell Mill: https://www.yelp.com/biz/bates-ace-hardware-atlanta. Fairly recently, I also had copies made at the Intown Ace in Virginia-Highland: https://www.yelp.com/biz/intown-ace-atlanta-2. They're all generally about the same. Something new I learned from Hal at this visit is I never actually had to remove the key I wanted copied from my keychain. He was able to make copies for me with the primary key still attached to my keychain. In general, I'm a fan of Ace Hardware stores. They're a nice alternative to big-box Home Depot stores. They have much more of a local, community feel to them with better, more personable customer service. When I visited this Fixit Ace, the store wasn't busy. Multiple workers were available to assist. Ace Hardware can also be much faster and easier compared to Home Depot and Lowe's, depending on where you are. In the case of this Ace, I happened to be in the neighborhood running errands after my dentist appointment nearby. There are two "Fixit Ace Hardware" locations in Atlanta: this one in the Peachtree Battle shopping center (same as Publix) and a bigger location in North Buckhead / Chastain on Roswell Road (same strip as The Fresh Market). Cool little store. Friendly associates. Came in to get a couple of keys made, but also found that they have a wide variety of things. Was also able get a birthday card and a lighter, which saved me making another stop. Also noticed they had diaper rash cream, pet food, snacks... We have been patronizing this wonderful Ace hardware for more than 20 years. They're always helpful, pleasant and knowledgeable. We've had to make many trips here during the pandemic due to some Home and work projects. They've gone above and beyond to safely help us and the store was well-marked for distancing esp at the register where people tend to crowd in elsewhere. read more

Purchased an almost $1500 bbq grill only to get there and find out it was the floor model. Manager tried saying he put it together for my order however I orders it just a few hours before and it was obvious sitting there with all the other grills. No discount offered so returned it to shop at a big box store. Never again Ace and have fun going out of business! read more

Great selection and knowledgeable staff that you don't have to hunt down like the big box home improvement stores. I also picked up a Georgia Southern Yetti here. I want supervisor Michael to know how highly impressed I was with Ace Hardware employee Hal. I had placed an online order for two identical items, based on inventory at your location showing both were in stock. After the order was paid for & completed, Hal called me to advise that actually only one item was there... but he found another at another location. In order to save me driving to both locations, Hal instead went there himself to pick up the 2nd one. He called me back the next business day to confirm both were ready for pickup at the Peachtree Battle location. I came here to get some paint because OPI did a collaboration w Ace Hardware. Hmm it started off well. I was personally and warmly greeted by every member of the staff I encountered which is pretty rare nowadays but it was all an insincere front :[ Like there was one lady actually checking out people, two guys just standing around shooting the shit pretending to work, and one idiot bumblefuck too proud to ask for direction so needlessly wasting people's time trying to be "helpful" I picked out the paint i wanted and then waited and waited He said there were issues with the computer that theyd had before and he was unable to mix the paint with the appropriate base. He said he was calling customer service or something? I wander the store browsing. I waited a bit more. I asked if he was doing something...? Another 15 min. After this point i really ran out patience because he was literally just wasting my time bc I was the one brainstorming possible solutions or asking if it would be available at another location. As a last resort I asked for a sample. This was too much for him. He seemed annoyed that I dare question his bum time wasting ways. IM ABOUT TO KILL SOMEBODY AT THIS POINT. I had to leave. Lady at the cash registers rang me up the wrong bags of soil. Then proceeded to get a attitude and yell at me as if I was the problem. I had to calm her down. Didn't feel comfortable asking her to return the wrong bags and charge me for the bags I actually wanted. Just took 4 bags I didn't need to get out of the situation! Even another employee so the altercation and apologized. That's the only reason for the 2nd STAR! must do better. Heard she been rude multiple times before. Do better! I have been a customer here for years but I recently purchased a Big Green Egg from Peachtree Battle Ace for my husband for Father's Day and I can't say enough about how friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful everyone at this store is! I want to point out that most of the negative reviews were made while the store was under the previous ownership. The new owner has taken the store to a whole new level and is much more involved. As promised. This paragraph is only for those who want their head to spin. So after my wild birthday party I ended up having to jet out of town before my houseguest in from NYC left my house. I left my key with her to give to our mutual friend, who I wanted to have a key anyway, but that left ME without a key temporarily. Also the mutual friend had what had been my key, which I assume was the original key. When I got back in town I had to borrow my own housekey from another friend I had given the key to, and then the next day I gave it back to her and asked my sister to copy her key for me. Which was, of course, a copy itself. So she had one made at Lowe's in Edgewood shopping center, but it didn't work so she left her key instead of the copy. Now, I had made a set of copies for two of my friends at Lowe's before, and they only work in the front door and not the back, so I figured it was a Lowe's issue because the keys I had originally had made for my two sisters (one of which moved away but took the key with her) at Home Depot had worked fine. So I went to Home Depot and had three keys made and NONE OF THEM WORKED. I was highly frustrated. I looked up the nearest Ace to my work, then went after work today. I was immediately greeted by a whopping four cheerful employees. I said I needed a key made, and a tall skinny guy who I probably would have had a huge crush on if I were 15 years old very politely walked me over to the key machine. At this point, I of course told him that I had gone to two different places and the key didn't work, and was his key machine good enough? He said the key machine was great, the question was whether his skills were good enough. He was super nice and looked really closely at the three keys he made for me - one didn't look good so he chucked it and redid it. He said he felt good about the ones that were done. He then wrote down the name and number of a good locksmith incase it didn't work. I told him that I'd give them a good yelp review if the keys worked. They did! Hurray! And yes, I am a key whore. You can have one too if you agree to come play with my tiny baby kittens while I'm at work. read more

Worst customer service ever. Walked up to the door 30 minutes prior to closing to an associate blocking the entire doorway with a ladder washing the windows. (who does this during open hours?) After finally moving, no apology no greeting, no anything. I now see why there wasn't a soul in the store except employees. They stood at the register too enthralled in their own conversation to even acknowledge my presence. So rude! the "permanent" cashier here is the worst. i have seen personally experienced her surly unfriendly attitude a number of times. i can't believe they haven't fired her. not a tough job, but she is horrible. her attitude is worse than a bitter TSA agent. and it s not just to me, it is to everyone. the extra distance and big-store issues ad the HD and Lowes are worth it compared to this painful experience. do yourself and others a favor by going to another hardware store. We experienced by far the worst customer service of almost any retailer at this Ace location. We rented a steam cleaner from this location to use at our house and all of the components weren't given to us, rendering the cleaner useless. By the time we were ready to use and found out we were missing a piece the store was closed and couldn't go back to get the missing piece. When calling the store to ask for an extra day with the cleaner because we weren't given every piece that came with the cleaning unit, the manager actually laughed and said they're not in the business of giving things away for free and that we should have checked to make sure the store clerk gave us everything before we went home. I work for a local business and have patronized this store many times. However, due to an incident that occured during my last visit, I will never go here again. I was at the cash register, and the cashier that is always there made an openly homophobic comment about a gay woman standing next to me. The cashier mocked her and looked at me, laughing, as if I would think it was funny too. This cashier has long had an attitude problem, but this was the last straw for me. Totally bummed! Bought a stand-up fan 3 weeks ago and ended up not needing to use it so I tried to return in had not even taken it out of the box - the lady pointed at the sticker that said they do not take fans back "due to the nature of the product." It's unfortunate that dishonest people who use the fan and then return it ruin it for everyone else. Yes, the sticker was on there when I bought it but I was I a hurry and it was not mentioned to me upon checkout. "Company policy." She could have opened the box and with one look seen that the fan had not been touched. Very disappointing for a locally-owned business to operate this way. I rarely shop at ACE and probably won't again. I moved and received a coupon and even with the discount it was ridiculously over priced. The service here was subpar and they aren't at all accommodating. I tried to exchange what I bought (got the wrong paint supply) and they wouldn't accept it as I bought it at another location. This Ace is convenient, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Just last week, I went to Home Depot to find a mosquito plant. I asked in the garden department and was told by two employees that I could look in three different places -- to see whether HD even had them. I later called Ace and spoke to the cashier, who told me they had the plants. She helped me pick out a couple of good plants. And I was out of there in a few minutes. read more

The problems with this store are many, and yes, poor management is one of them. I used to shop here all the time, but for the past several years I've been disappointed in many regards. On several visits the store has been either out of the products I need or stocking only one of a particular item. Moreover, the clerks can never give me a disposition as to when I can expect an item to come in. Thus, my time is wasted and I often leave frustrated. On vacation from Ireland to do,some diy for my son who lives in Atlanta. I walked most days this ACE store at 2365 Peachtree, with my son's dog for supplies and each time I found all the staff, including the check out totally friendly, knowledgeable as to their products and helpful. Over three weeks, I never once failed to get an item, which I required and with only a limited kit of basic tools available at my son's new house, was able to complete some quite complicated D-I-Y jobs, thanks to the advice and products sold to me by the staff at Ace Hardware. Over the course of my visits, I probably dealt with eight members of staff from young men to a more elderly person and I could not fault any of them. I speak as someone, who in Ireland ran our own family business, Merchants of Precision Engineering tools and Specialist Carpentry tools , founded in 1896 and which is still trading, for forty year. I know from experience that some customers have complaints or can criticise staff, but I find it sad when I see some of the language which some of the reviewers have used towards a member of this particular store. We all have crosses to bear in life and before these individuals use such language, perhaps they should "Try walking a mile in this person's shoes", before they criticise.
