She greeted us promptly, took our drink order and gave us the time we requested. We ordered Caesar Salad and garlic breadsticks to start and Scallops Carbonara, GIGANTICO Spaghetti and Meatballs, and Lasagna. HINT: If you're not in a hurry, I suggest you ask your waiter/waitress to order the entree's when you get your salad/soup. If you like poor quality ingredients with high empty calories, this is the spot. I came here because my sister is visiting and it is her favourite place to eat. I would never personally suggest coming here. Most people at the table complained about their dish. I had the salmon and it was tiny and dry. My mother had scallops and she hated it. I think the best comment was the Italian Wedding Soup. My mother and I both got garden salad and how you screw that up is beyond me. The one benefit is that I do enjoy the customer service. East Side Mario's is a chain. They have recently renovated the restaurant and taken away some of the New York kitsch (which I enjoyed) and made the restaurant look a little classier. There are 2 areas of the restaurant, a bar area with TVs and then booths and tables in the main dining areas. The servers are absolutely fantastic. They are nice and friendly. I eat here often and it's very rare that we've had a server who wasn't all smiles and friendly/helpful. The prices are reasonable which makes it a great spot for lunch or supper. I am a creature of habit and I always order the same thing. When you know what you like, you know what you like. I have had a couple of other dishes but mainly, I stick with the make your own pasta. I get the spaghettini with Arabiatta sauce. Sometimes I add chicken on top but mostly I don't. This is a spicy sauce. I can tell when it's going to be very hot just by looking at it. Different chefs mean that it isn't always identical however it's close enough to be consistent. Sometimes I get a Greek salad on the side which I enjoy, sometimes not. Meals also come with a small loaf of bread. The servers also offer fresh grated cheese and fresh grated pepper for your salad or pasta dishes. I don't take either but it is a nice touch. The restaurant used to be quite noisy but I have noticed since the renovations that it is much less noisy now. It can get pretty busy in there at times and seems to be a popular spot for work groups, especially teachers at the end of the school year. The location is great as well if you want to do some shopping after you eat as there are many nearby stores. It's also in the same area as a movie theater so dinner and a movie is not only an easy option but it's also something they offer on their menu. This is a great casual restaurant with consistent good food for a reasonable price. I have been to East Side Mario's in Saint John and it took forever to get my food (the Moncton location is always quick), it was the wrong order and it was terrible. So while East Side may be a chain, you shouldn't judge it based on that or on the food you've had in other locations. My bf got the fettuccini Alfredo and and I got the spaghettini and meatballs and it was so good and filling and we ordered take out so they definitely give you enough food to fill you. The Caesar salad looked disappointing but when I assembled it it was delicious. I love their Caesar sauce! And the Italian wedding soup also looked disappointing but didn't disappoint in flavour. It's not that bad. I was with a large group of people so I was able to sample from everyone's dish and there wasn't one thing that was bad. There were a couple of dishes I got to taste and I liked it a lot. 1) Rotisserie Chicken was excellent. If I come back, I'm getting this; and 2) Seafood Linguini. I ordered the fish and chips. Why? I have no idea. It was good but don't get this when you go to an Italian place. Get dessert. Cheesecake. You won't regret it. Service was excellent. Our waitress was extremely patient and friendly. I ordered food for a workplace party. The food arrived after an hour and a half late. I was promised the order would be free. I accepted the offer. The refund still hasn't been issued after waiting. I called and they said will need to call general manager on Saturday because for "some reason" it can't be done there and the first manager I spoke to didn't void it. So I called Saturday and was told it was refunded. It's now Wednesday and still no refund issued on my card. I hate being lied too. Also the food wasn't even good. It was bland. Unappetizing. Used to be my favourite place to go, last few times they seem to be very disorganized, empty booths not ready when requested, not cleaned off, the waitress who was great explained that they are understaffed, but it looked to me as a manager of a different industry that they looked under managed, and oh yeah, the dressing on the house salad was weak, probably a corporate decision but a bad one. My sister and dad ordered alfredo, the noodles were barely cooked and the whole dish was cold. I ordered chicken fingers and fries.... it was just average/bad I guess. The fries were bad, no flavor or crunch--the chicken fingers were dry and needed to be drenched with gravy to be flavorful. My mother and I had to constantly ask our waitress for refills on our salad and soups, and she always forgot to ask if we wanted any parmesan. My sister wanted a refill on her iced tea and it took 10 minutes for it to come, and she was already finished her meal at that point. read more

We visited this location on Friday with my family along with my sons sports team. Service was very good. Working with teams I'm sure is tough but they handled it very well! Served our drinks quickly and took orders efficiently! At our table we ordered: bruschetta pizza which had lots of flavour and teased good. Could have been crispier on the bottom but really no complaints. Chicken parmesan which my husband said was hot and had lots of flavour He did note that he wished the chicken was fresher. I am thinking that it is a boxed frozen chicken patty so this is probably the reason but overall it was good. We had both the garden salad and Caesar salads at our table. I ate the Caesar which was an average Caesar salad and tasted as it should. I think a little less dressing would have been good and also it was clearly made hours earlier as it was soaked thru and lettuce was small bits. Still....at least the flavour was there. Server was friendly and nice and did come back to check on us several times. Nicely done! The only complaint I have is some of the filth on the floors. We sat at a table in the back near the server stations and this area was scary dirty! Food everywhere, used napkins thrown on the floors, food chunks, kinda gross! I just avoided looking at it or it probably would have grossed me out. I'm not from the area but if I went back I'm sure I wouldn't mind going back here. Thanks server!
