I love this place. I personally believe they have one of the best Greek pizzas in the area. The cheese is fantastic and the sauce is one of my favorite. The only thing is- the sauce is so saucy that the cheese sometimes just slides off. Not a big deal for me though! It's not much of a dine-in place but I can definitely recommend for lunch. Parking in the front can be a bit tough but there's usually a spot for you. I would recommend just going somewhere in the back. read more

We stopped impromptu to have pizza on a Monday evening, luckily we were the only patrons in the restaurant since I was nervous to eat inside a restaurant due to covid. The front counter staff told us to sit wherever, we choose a booth in the rear which still had crumbs but they didn't offer to clean. There are napkins on the booths in holders so I swept us off. They gave us each a paper menu, we got a large cheese 1/2 pepperoni, a small order of fries, and they told us to pick a drink from the beverage case in the dining room. No liquor only Coke products. Our fries were served in a basket, and with packets of ketchup, no salt. The pizza was good but a bit of a dry crust. The decor is odd, framed Audi magazine pictures, Beatles pics, and then random city/landscape pics. The rugs are stained badly, the restaurant itself is in a small strip mall type spot with odd parking since the front door doesn't face actual parking spaces. One visit was good for us. read more

I have given this business multiple tries and always end up unsatisfied . The staff is always rude on the phone & today I was overcharged for a cold Italian combo , pick up order ...I was given bread with one piece of ham and let's just say it was given to the dogs lol. I feel like I should have not paid for literally bread. Normally I am not a Karen and love giving great reviews to help people in my town but I am actually not sure how this is acceptable?? Also the people who rated this place 5 stars must have not tasted food in a long time ... I could have made a better grinder with the left overs in my fridge . Didn't know a family owned company would want to disappoint like this ! Mind blowing If I could rate this place 0 zeros I would. I don't get all the 4 and 5 Star reviews for this pizza. This is Connecticut, a state known for great pizza. And East Side Pizza Palace is not great. Not even close. We were "treated" to pizza at work the other day, so I figured I'd grab a few slices on the way out the door. The pizza was on par with something you'd find at a Gas station. Or in a High School cafeteria. Awful. Greasy, dry crust, no flavor sauce. I love East Side Pizza. I've been going there since I was a kid. It's a great family business in Wallingford. For those of you who don't follow my page/ reviews, I have a lot of allergies. One being tomatoes. This proves extremely problematic and can be seriously dangerous when I want pizza...white pizza. East Side takes extra special care of me. They are super careful in prep, always use a clean cutter, because yes...my allergy is THAT bad that I can't even use the same blade to cut my pizza with. I also order my pizza very specifically, for obvious reasons and the fact that I like my pizza done a certain way. I don't know about you but I love when a place remembers me. When I start my order, they're like- Oh Hey! Ya We've got it. That's awesome in my book. Prices are perfect for what you get- great quality ingredients and final products. I've gotten wings, sides, subs here too- all good! If you don't have a "regular pizza joint" in Wallingford, you should absolutely try East Side. They deliver at night (most nights I think) too. Went with a friend who knows the owners. Had a greek salad, half a meatball and sausage grinder and a pepperoni pizza. Was delicious. Real feta and good olives in the salad (with pits so be careful) , great blend of sauce, meat, peppers and onions and cheese in the grinder and a very good greek style pizza. Crust was delicious, sauce is great and ample cheese. One off the best greek style pizzas I have had. The restaurant itself is a bit dated and could have some updates but it was clean and comfortable. read more

Was really craving Greek pizza the other night so decided to get food from here. Unfortunately they don't deliver to Cheshire so I had to drive there, but that was fine. We ordered a greek salad, large cheese calzone and large cheese pizza. I would say that everything was pretty good, but not amazing. I've had better greek pizza and calzone, but I've also had worse. I was not a fan of the sauce that came with the calzone as it tasted as if it had a meaty flavor to it. The staff was exceedingly nice and helpful and I like the old school feel of the place. With that said, if I was in the area, I would get it again, but likely wouldn't go out of my way for it. read more

My boyfriend and I agree that their grinders are very good. I am a vegetarian and I have only tried the eggplant parmesan. Eggplant is thinly sliced, skin left on - plenty of it on the grinder and it's not too saucy. He has only tried a hot ham & cheese, but he will likely try meatball, too. We love the rolls - soft! We have not gotten the pizza because we know it is Greek which is not what we like and because we already have a favorite place for pizza. Their service is fast, friendly and efficient. Prices are very reasonable. Two foot-long grinders here cost less than two six-inch grinders at Subway. Dining area decor is outdated and the lighting is a little harsh - so bright. However, neither of those matter when a. we only order for take-out and b. the food tastes as good as it does. This is definitely one of the best pizza places I've ever been to. I grew up with this place. I live right by it, and my parents used to pick up pizza from there every week after my dance classes. We always got the large pizza (cut party style - so there are a lot of pieces) and the antipasta salad. This is definitely a nostalgic place for me. It's Greek style pizza, so the crust is very thick...crunchy on the outside and softer on the inside, and they put a LOT of cheese on their pizza. Everything is great - the sauce, crust, and cheese. The dressing for the antipasta is just oil and vinegar with some herbs, but it's great. As for the atmosphere, it's very casual. Decent bathrooms. You grab your drinks from a cooler. Plenty of seating. I remember going to a few birthday parties there as a kid...parents had the option of renting out the back part of the restaurant. I went there with my boyfriend a few times last year, and he really enjoyed it too. Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with celiac disease shortly after...and I can no longer eat here again, as they do not offer a gluten free menu. So, if you have celiac disease or can't eat gluten, you will not find something safe. If they ever do decide to offer gluten free pizza, I will be one of the first people to try it. This is definitely one of the restaurants I miss most after my diagnosis. If you haven't tried this place yet, I definitely recommend it. read more

Getting one of their pies or a meat ball grinder is nostalgic for me. I find the meat ball grinder to be out of this world. Its not like a lot of places where you can tell it was a gross frozen meatball. They use huge sliced meatballs that are just so soft and almost melt in your mouth. Add some melted cheese and their awesome house sauce it's a really satisfying treat. Not something to be missed. It still has an old school vibe I really like. So many places are going modern that I'm really appreciating the places that can still bring me back to childhood like this one. The pie is where they shine! Great crust and as someone else said, not too thick and not too thin. A good sturdy yet soft crust. I've always found their pizza a bit on the greasy side but I love it. The sauce has this really great flavor that is home to East Side Pizza you're not gonna find elsewhere. I love dipping their crust in soda. Don't knock it till ya try it! I may very well be bias here because I grew up on their pizza but I find it up there in what you will find in the area. It looks like your typical pizza joint but the flavor so, so good. Worth a try if you've never been there. East Side Pizza is a Greek pizza joint if anyone is curious. After eating their pizza all these years, I'll choose Greek pizza over Italian any day! Went here last night craving a Greek style pie. Been here a few times and the pizza is decent enough. Never even looked at their website. I looked it over and we ordered a small cheese to go. Price on their website stated $7.25. The price they charged me was $8.50. I informed the guy there that their website begged to differ. He basically said that he's known about it for a while and didn't have the time to make the price changes. He didn't offer to charge me his websites price.Poor attitude to boot. Ohhhhhh my. I will apologize now. This was not good. The good first, Was told about an hour for delivery, it it was about an hour. The pizza was typical average Greek pan pizza. Lots of cheese and decent sauce but a bland crust. I am not going to beat up on the pizza too bad. It was ok. Certainly not the worst. I was ordering delivery and wanted a medium. This means I need to order something else to get free delivery. 6 wings would not put me over the 15 dollars so I ordered 12. No problem, I completely understand the minimum and have no problem with this. After 2 slices of the pizza, I opened the bag with the wings. I saw a tiny foam container. I couldn't figure out how they could even fit 6 wings in there. I opened it and there were only 6 wings, even though I had ordered 12 (to meet the free delivery requirements). I opened the container and as we looked on in abject horror as we wondered what all those little tiny chickens had done wrong. These were the smallest wings I have ever seen. I can not even be certain they came from a chicken. The first 2 were so overcooked, we could not bite the meat off. The remaining 4 were cooked just enough and soggy. The sauce tasted straight out of the generic store brand "hot wings". My son said, "Dad, I feel bad for the chickens and I feel bad for you. Think about that, these wings were so bad and so small, it literally hurt his feelings. Thinking about it in retrospect, I am kinda glad I didn't get the 12 wings I paid for. read more

My dad has been getting pizza from this place every Sunday for the past 10+ years. He will drive there from a town over and bring it home around 6. Coincidentally, I generally show up at my parents house at about 5:45 every Sunday night. This pizza may look like your standard pie, but the taste is something else. The crust is perfect, not too thick and not too thin. The sauce is delicious with a little hint of spice to give it a kick, and the cheese is always fresh. I am drooling right now just thinking about it! I hate pizzas that are too dry or the sauce and cheese don't go to the edge of the crust. No problem with that here, you can savor every flavorful bite. Most places I order a bunch of toppings to make sure I am satisified with the flavor, but with East Side I think a plain pie might be my favorite. I have only eaten there a couple of times so I am not sure about the rest of the menu, but who needs it with the pizza they make! read more

A nice local pizza shop. It is different than your average pizza restaurant/hangout. East Side Pizza is designed more like a college hangout, but have nicer tables and booths. Price is where they come into play, their large is cut party style giving you around 20 slices. I always pick up a large and no matter what I put on it, I always stay under the $20 mark. They do deliver anything over $15. They have 2 fridges with a large variety of sodas, water, iced teas, root beers, etc. I have yet to try their grinders, but plan to on a day that I do not crave pizza (probably never). Bathroom sanitation is your average. There is no fancy man standing at the doorway with a towel, but it is clean enough to get the job done. The staff is friendly and always around during the course of your meal to provide a pleasant eating experience. Not much more can be said about this place. Nothing really stood out to me other than its location and the size of the large pizza, but if you are passing by I91 and are craving a pie, I would give it a shot. read more

Giving them 3 stars for the quantity of the toppings and the attitude of the staff. Got a small special pizza and a salad. Crust and sauce on the pie were ok at best but very nondescript. Lots of toppings though! It was cooked nicely too. This is greek pizza so the crust is a bit thicker than italian. Crispy on outside and soft on inside. Salad ingredients were pulled out of sandwich supplies. You could tell by the way they were cut. The greek dressing was good. Nice guy behind the counter.
