We stopped impromptu to have pizza on a Monday evening, luckily we were the only patrons in the restaurant since I was nervous to eat inside a restaurant due to covid. The front counter staff told us to sit wherever, we choose a booth in the rear which still had crumbs but they didn't offer to clean. There are napkins on the booths in holders so I swept us off. They gave us each a paper menu, we got a large cheese 1/2 pepperoni, a small order of fries, and they told us to pick a drink from the beverage case in the dining room. No liquor only Coke products. Our fries were served in a basket, and with packets of ketchup, no salt. The pizza was good but a bit of a dry crust. The decor is odd, framed Audi magazine pictures, Beatles pics, and then random city/landscape pics. The rugs are stained badly, the restaurant itself is in a small strip mall type spot with odd parking since the front door doesn't face actual parking spaces. One visit was good for us.

I don't get all the 4 and 5 Star reviews for this pizza. This is Connecticut, a state known for great pizza. And East Side Pizza Palace is not great. Not even close. We were "treated" to pizza at work the other day, so I figured I'd grab a few slices on the way out the door. The pizza was on par with something you'd find at a Gas station. Or in a High School cafeteria. Awful. Greasy, dry crust, no flavor sauce. Least I didn't pay for it (and I don't recommend you do either, there are plenty of better pizza places in the area).

At least the dogs are happy ! #woof

I have given this business multiple tries and always end up unsatisfied . The staff is always rude on the phone & today I was overcharged for a cold Italian combo , pick up order ...I was given bread with one piece of ham and let's just say it was given to the dogs lol. I feel like I should have not paid for literally bread. Normally I am not a Karen and love giving great reviews to help people in my town but I am actually not sure how this is acceptable?? Also the people who rated this place 5 stars must have not tasted food in a long time ... I could have made a better grinder with the left overs in my fridge . Didn't know a family owned company would want to disappoint like this ! Mind blowing If I could rate this place 0 zeros I would. I hope you guys are just as disappointed with this review as I was with my order!

By far best Greek pizza in area. Classic pan crust, crisp exterior and great Chevy inside. Sauce has perfect amount of tang and seasoning. Right amount of cheese and toppings. No wonder why they have been around for over 40 years.

Pizza was solid and piping hot. The 1984 Audi poster added a retro ambiance to the establishment.

The crust is fantastic--thin and crispy with just the right amount of char, but still chewy and flavorful. The toppings are fresh and generous, and the pizza has arrived hot and perfectly cooked every time. We loved it so much after our first order that we've already been back, and Inferno has officially earned a spot in our regular pizza rotation. Great crust, great flavor, consistently delicious. Highly recommend!

Inferno Apizza is a New Haven-style pizzeria that opened in North Haven, Connecticut in July 2017…read more It was founded by Christopher Beauton, who has over 50 years of pizza-making experience. More recently Beauton was connected with the New Haven-based "Big Green Truck Pizza": a fleet of green mobile wood-fired pizza oven trucks that was founded in 2003. He joined that operation in 2009 and worked as one of the pizza chefs as well as an operations manager. In 2017, Beaumont decided to open his own brick & mortar pizzeria at the Home Depot Plaza in North Haven. He had a Mugnaini Wood-Fired Pizza Oven imported all the way from Tuscany, Italy and installed at his new pizzeria. Inferno Apizza was met with much success and even opened a mobile pizza truck spin-off business dubbed "Rolling Inferno". In May 2024, Inferno Apizza closed their North Haven location. At this point, Beauton semi-retired but passed the torch to his 20-year-old grandson Michael Masto. The young pizzaiolo learned well from his grandfather and had been making pizza for a number of years. In October 2024, Masto reopened Inferno Apizza in Wallingford, with Beauton helping out as a "business consultant". In addition to New Haven-style thin crust pizza, Inferno also makes subs, salads and various appetizers such as wings and stuffed breads. My family and I have ordered from Inferno Apizza several times since they opened, and we have never had a bad experience. The crust is always crisp with just the right amount of char around the edges. I recently ordered take-out from them: a large "White Pie with Broccoli & Extra Garlic" and a small "Plain Mozzarella". This was actually my first time ordering from them since they relocated to Wallingford. When I arrived, I took note of the new location. It's much smaller than their old North Haven location; more of a take-out pizzeria now as opposed to a large sit-down pizzeria. Also gone is the large wood-fired oven (the pizza trucks, however, still use wood fire). Inferno now uses conventional gas ovens. Could they still get that crispy, charred crust with these? When I arrived at home, we dug into the pizzas and all of our worries were set aside. It may be a new location, it may be different ovens, but it's still the same excellent-tasting pizza! We continue to give Inferno Apizza our seal of approval!

We stopped in because we were starving and short on time before heading to our nearby destination…read more I had picked this place because they had the highest reviews in the area, and I even told my son that on the way in. Service was OK. I think because I tipped at the time of the order the food was brought to the table. The woman was on the phone when we got there, so we waited a little but it was ok. It was all just ok. The pizza we ordered was burnt and not the good kind of char you expect from a brick oven (and as someone who loves Pepe's, I hope I know the difference). Still, we ate it because we had already paid, and we didn't have time to go anywhere else. The salad was just okay, though I will say the ranch dressing tasted homemade, which was a nice touch. The bacon was stale The biggest downside was the cleanliness. The restaurant was dusty and dirty. There was a steady stream of people coming in and out for takeout orders the whole time we were there, which makes me wonder if our experience was just a fluke, or if the regulars simply like it that way. As we were leaving, my son turned to me and said, "Mom, I thought you picked the place with the best pizza." I laughed because he was right, this time, the reviews were wrong, for us at least. Would I order again? Probably not. But the atmosphere and steady business made me curious enough to maybe give it another shot, just with very lower expectations. And for take out.

We had the ricotta and honey on toast, meatballs, prosciutto/mozzarella to start, some white wine and of course PIZZA! The pizza was light and cooked perfectly. We had the Dolce Salato and the Diavolina. We loved the Dolce Salato! The Diavolina was good, but I think some more spicy salami or maybe an additional spicy component would have been a good addition to the pizza. It needed just a little bit more on the flavor side. But still everything here is high quality and I would recommend! Service was excellent. We were immediately seated and had the option to sit inside or outside. I first sat inside, then we moved to a larger table outside. What I really appreciated as a new mom, was their openness and flexibility for coming in with a stroller. I was nervous to be a burden to the restaurant, but they were super accommodating. Thank you On room for improvement, I think on a hot day, having the inside space being much much cooler, than the outdoor seating (especially for newborns/really young kids/elderly) would be beneficial. Yesterday it was cool inside to start (and remember I chose to move outside), but they started to leave the front door open to allow for easy movement of staff and guests between inside and outside, which made the indoor space get warmer over time. And I totally get that for the ease of movement for staff/guests, but maybe consider keeping it super cool on the inside, so that kiddos/elderly have a cool space on a really hot day to not overheat. The vibe here is great. Chill, warm and light! Come with family and/or friends and enjoy!
