I'm a New Yorker at heart. CT overhyped pizza. But Jimmy's is the best pizza I've had since moving here 20 years ago.

I always order here to go it's ready and good time and it's always delicious. I never actually sat down at 8:00 so I can't say how well the service is but they're always very friendly when I go to pick up my food. There is the inside seating and it's decently lit. How did I miss this place? I lived in Meriden for 23 years and never noticed Jimmy's. I had to move a few towns away and read about it on the internet. Well, Jimmy's gets phenomenal reviews from people that love Greek pizza and I happen to love Greek pizza so I tried it out. Wow... if you love Greek pizza look no further... best one I've found in central Connecticut... the dough,sauce and cheese are all perfectly made and flavorful. The staff is friendly and professional... the prices are not bad at all. My brother from Florida came up a couple weeks ago and went with me to Jimmy's... he told me the flavor of the pizza made him miss Connecticut and it was the best pizza he had ever had... it is seriously good... Jimmy's is a little hidden gem. My son loves Greek-style pizza and was advised to try Jimmy's. I live in Meriden and didn't, until recently, know he was there. We ordered pizza, Greek salad, and a hot grinder. We were quite impressed with the high quality of ingredients. The pizza was delicious. Light crust, beautiful sauce, and generous cheese. Salad was perfect and loaded. Stuffed grape leaves among the best I've had. The eggplant grinder was huge and wonderful. I am so glad that we found this place. Tried Jimmy's Pizza for the first time last night. I was craving a greek style pizza with a thicker crust. My husband went and picked it up and there was a child's birthday party going on and it was utter chaos inside the restaurant with children running around screaming and trying to get into the kitchen. My husband said the staff was doing their best trying to keep the children out of the back but it was pretty crazy. We ordered the meat pizza and it was supposed to be ready just before 6pm. They were running behind and it was another 15-20 minutes before it was ready. I do have to say that the pizza was fantastic. The crust was buttery and light. The sauce was tangy with the perfect amount of cheese and toppings. We will definitely be ordering again. Hopefully next time we will miss the birthday party. LOL. read more

I waited 25 minutes for buttered noodles with chicken and broccoli versus chicken and broccoli Alfredo. The chef insisted that the noodles "soaked up all the sauce" but I ordered take out two weeks ago.... If you're out of something you can just say that... had to go back to get the Alfredo sauce and the chef was rude. We ordered two large pizzas last night. A extra pepperoni and a clam with white sauce. When we received the pizzas we didn't have clams so we called and the owners wife said she would get one out to us right away. It was a simple misunderstanding. They sent the right pizza and only charged the extra $4 for the clams since we had originally been charged for a cheese. The delivery driver was friendly and the pizza was bomb. The best dining experience on my trip from California to Connecticut. I got a large pizza with large mushrooms on it(mushrooms are my favorite ), yummy sausages and extra cheese. It was fantastic! I also got some chicken wings with barbecue sauce on it.The owner and the staff were very kind and friendly. The little 5-year old boy invited me to play his toy cars. He's super energetic! No doubt about it when it comes to great Pizza and subs. This is a great place. I always kept the Italian combo with mayonnaise on both sides of the bread, light mustard, lettuce, red onions black pepper, jalapeños peppers, oregano, American cheese. I also had a cheese pizza. Never tried Greek type of pizza and I have to say it is spot on delicious. I never had mushroom,onion and sausage pizza in my life ,but my coworkers ordered one tonight and asked me to try. The meat is good quality and the thick crust holds topping better then thin. I never thought I'd enjoy mushrooms on a pizza like I did tonight . Honestly that review a few down has to be from a miserable human being. These people are so sweet and so hard working! They seem like the kind that would give you the shirt off their back. This is a family run business and they are so passionate about the food they serve. So personable, so thoughtful, so generous. The service level is above and beyond. Now...the food. The sauce is fantastic. Not a jar sauce and so yummy. The homemade dressings are reason enough to go. I dunk everything into it because it makes they already great food amazing. The Greek style pizza is phenomenal. The salads are outstanding! The best of all is the wings! I like them dry. Best wings ever. The wings are hearty, full, and perfectly crisp. We just ordered three large pizzas for a gathering of 16 people. I think that' reflects a pretty good census for a pizza review board! Here it is! Everyone loved the pizza - piled up veggies were bursting with flavor! The house special was a hit too! Every ingredient cut to the right bite- size proportion! Both pizzas were a hit. Pizza? Very good. Service? Terrible. Called in an order to pick up. Woman that answered has an accent and speaks softly. I had to keep repeating myself and asking her to repeat herself. Was given an amount of time for when it would be ready (30 minutes). I arrived at 20 minutes and it wasn't even prepared yet. Took over 45 minutes from the time I called until it was ready, and it appears the only reason it was ready that quickly was because I was standing there waiting for it and they moved it ahead in the queue. There were at least three different people that kept coming out asking me what I ordered. Delivery drivers kept passing through the entry area leaving no place for waiting customers. Watched an argument between a customer and the woman behind the counter over what was ordered. Both had their own strong accents and both spoke softly despite it being so loud in there. Woman behind the counter had no clue what to do (should have started with an apology, at least, but that didn't happen). Again, pizza was very good. They need to figure out how to run a business. read more

I dont even like Greek pizza but it's actually pretty good for a thicker style pizza, in usually like only prefer thinner pizzas like new haven style only reason why its 3 stars but the flavor and everything was there if you like thick style pizzas then this is the perfect spot for you, the fried calamari wasn't bad either wish the oil was alittle cleaner but it was tasty. read more

This unassuming spot knocked it out of the park. Their cheesy garlic bread was irresistible (made with homemade butter... who still does that?), the buttery crusted pizza was a slice of heaven. And their broccoli chicken was a plate of "oh my god yes more, please". I've gotten take out a few times and it's been really good one of the better pizzas I've had. So last night I ate in and it was so good. An extra sauce, extra cheese sausage pizza. It was so good. How good was it? Well I'll put it this was besides the crusts because I have to be in a mood for crusts and besides for me the cheese is the best part, there were no leftovers. Nothing. I would definitely go back. Recently I had the cheese ravioli and it was so good. You could tell the pasta was fresh and I was so glad it was cooked through but that's another story for another review. I'm probably going to get the pasta again. Our neighbors and good friends invited us for dinner here. The team at Jimmy's has known them for many years. We were welcomed in with open arms and enjoyed a wonderful meal. We had been driving by Jimmy's for a while and decided to 'cheat' on our old go-to pizza joint and try it out. I have to say that Jimmy's awesome Greek style pan pizza brought me back to my Bridgeport days eating pizza at Captain's. The pizza is always delivered hot and fresh. Jimmy's is now my new go-to joint. I also must commend Jimmy on his wings. They are crispy and full of flavor. Most pizza joints cook their wings in the pizza oven and the skin is rubbery.
