Slow service. You get here on time and sit for 45 minutes waiting to see the doctor. Then they room you and have you sit for another 20 minutes. They frequently cancel appointments on clients at the last minute and I have never seen the same doctor. Each time I come in for orthodontics (every two weeks or so) it is a different dentist! Unfortunately I signed up to complete my braces here but when I'm done I will NEVER come back. Even worse, on the day of my last appointment they asked me if I was satisfied. I told them my teeth had been straightened but the bite was still off (keep in mind the bite was the primary reason for braces) their response was oops! read more

I wasn't a patient here for very long (moved cities shortly after starting care here), but I had a great experience. I saw Dr. Wright, and he was always very nice and able to answer any questions I had. The dental assistants were always pleasant as well. I had one hiccup there with a CSR/front desk staff member who messed up a scheduled appointment, but the doctor was very apologetic about the whole mess. I've happily recommended them to friends still in the area. All around a great dental office to go to. read more

I walked into this dentist office and something just didn't feel right from the start. The "business associates" or whatever they're called are dressed really nice and they smile like foxes. After being told that my initial appointment would include an exam, x-rays, and a cleaning, and it would take 40 minutes, the "business associate" told me I would have to schedule my cleaning for another day (that's a totally separate charge, which is very different from what I was told on the phone). I went back to have my exam, where they took more x-rays of my mouth than I've ever had before. The hygienist then pointed out all of my cavities - I'd never had a cavity in my life, and suddenly I had 7. The dentist came in and told me I needed to "start being responsible and floss." I was ready to cry, I was so angry. Then another greasy business associate came in to tell me about my treatment options and how I'd have to pay $1100 (I'm sure it'd actually be much more). They also told my husband that his wisdom teeth were full of cavities and needed to be removed right away - except only one of his wisdom teeth have erupted. I'm no dentist, but your mouth would have to be in sorry shape to have cavities in teeth that haven't seen the other side of your gum line! I chose this place because it was seemingly less expensive than other dentists, which is important since I don't have dental insurance. I called my old dentist - a lady who's been around for decades and has an excellent practice - who told me to come in for a second opinion, no charge. I'll gladly pay the higher rates if it means I never have to go back to this horrible "dentist" again. Stay FAR away!! read more

Beware. This dentist has high pressure closers that come in to the room smiling and pressuring clients into having unnecessary procedures. They will tell you that your insurance will pay an amount and then bill for it later. It is hard to find $2000.00 and even harder to end up paying $3000.00. Stay far, far away. read more

I've been here twice and will not be returning. Being almost 30 and never had a cavity in my life, I would say I'm a pretty easy patient. My first appointment took almost THREE hours. The "business associates" or whatever they are really pushed their teeth whitening treatment and sealants, although I kept politely refusing. I also overheard another very disgruntled patient arguing with staff about charges on his account. It got so heated that the man was escorted out of the office. I probably should have gotten up and ran at that point, but my hygienist was very nice. She kept apologizing for the length of my appointment, saying they were short staffed that day. Not a big deal, and I liked her, so I came back for my 6 month check up and cleaning. I arrive to my check up appointment 10 minutes early and am the only one in the waiting room. I wait 30 minutes to be seen by the hygienist. This hygienist was also very nice, but obviously not familiar with this office. Again not a huge deal. She offers me various sealants and treatments which I know I do not need, and I politely decline. She then tells me she has some "vitamins for my teeth" (code for fluoride treatment as I find out later) and paints this stuff on my teeth without discussing it further. I didn't think much of this. After my visit, I am checking out and told this fluoride treatment is not covered by insurance and will be a $50 charge. I asked why this wasn't discussed with me previously and the business associate shook her head and shrugged her shoulders and said "oh, sorry. Fluoride isn't recommended or covered by insurance after age 17". Um.. Okay? After going back and forth for a few minutes, I gave up. It's pretty obvious this is how they do business. I have been using them because they are one of the dentists in town I can take my graduate student insurance to. I will be taking my business elsewhere, even if it is less convenient for me. The people behind the desk smile and are nice, but talk up the dental work of their doctors and hygienists way too much for it to be normal. I've been living in Champaign for 5 years, and have seen multiple dentists cycled through, at least one new person a year - so it seems like it isn't a great place to work, either. They offer "preventative but essential" oral health services such as fluoride treatments and oral cancer screenings, but fail to mention that those cost extra and are not covered by my health insurance. They try to guilt you into using these services, then say "we'll talk to a business associate" about whether it's covered by insurance, and somehow that never comes up - once it's time to check out, I was shooed out the door, only to receive phone calls at least once a week asking for the balance left on my account. read more

They've changed dentists multiple times in the last couple of years, so you never know who you're going to see. When Dr. Venu Maturi was there, things were pretty decent, and he was a good dentist. But since he left, this place is a mess. One time, I was seen by a dentist (don't remember her name) who spent less than 45 seconds with me: "everything is fine" -- and I paid how much for that? But after this last time, I don't think I will ever be going back. The dentist working on my fillings left in the middle of it to go take care of at least 2 other patients (and no, those were not emergencies, and no, it wasn't during the time they have to wait for the anesthesia to kick in). I waited for about 20 minutes with my teeth drilled, so obviously I wasn't able to go anywhere. I've had plenty of fillings done, and I know this is not even close to standard procedure. And don't get me started on the issues they have with insurance. read more

They made me to take this unnecessary surgery on my tooth which make it worse, lied to me before the surgery about the actual price I need to pay, and now they are blackmailing me for the bills. read more

Went in for a cleaning in September and was told I needed two fillings. I've only ever had one in my entire life so I was a little surprised but went ahead with them anyway. After a few weeks, the one filling was still painful. So I made an appointment to have it checked. They basically told me it was fine and I should wait longer for the pain to go away. I waited until the end of December and I could still only chew on one side of my mouth. So I went back again and they said they would redrill it. Even after that, it still hurt. So I went to another dentist when it was time again for my cleaning -- six months after the original filling. Now I need a $500+ root canal to fix their mistake. They drilled the filling all the way down to the nerve. At the second dentist, the hygienist looked at my X-Ray and said "Oh that must be the tooth. No wonder it hurts." DO NOT LET THESE PEOPLE ANYWHERE NEAR YOUR TEETH. read more
