Ha okay if you're desperate, come here. There's nothing special about the food. It's good but not great. I got teriyaki steak and the meat looked a little sketch. No food poisoning so that's good, but I wasn't impressed by the food or decor. I know it's a sushi place so it's not very fitting that I got meat; my cousin had the sushi and she seemed alright with it. A great place for sushi and Thai!! Such friendly staff. Call or (very easily) order online, and pick up through a window inside. They're wearing masks and limiting how many people can pick up at once. Fair pricing- great lunch sushi deals! Their sweet potato rolls do not have eggs, and other dishes can be easily modified to not have eggs in it- great for anyone with allergies. Their chow mei fun is also awesome! My husband and I kind of consider this to be our restaurant. We usually get the sushi, but enjoy the Chinese and Thai offerings as well. The sushi always tastes fresh. Their service is very good, and they have gotten to know us well. The pricing is fair. Their lunch specials are awesome. Chinese meals with rice, a small appetizer and a drink for $5.00, and sushi rolls ranging from $6.95 for 2 or $9.95 for 3. We enjoy that it is not usually very crowded for dinner seating. Was craving sushi pretty bad but wasn't in the area of the place I usually go to. I consulted yelp for places in the area and decided to try this one based on location and reviews. The inside is very nice. A little small, but it had a good number of tables. I just walked in and ordered a couple rolls to go. The gentlemen who took my order was extremely polite and friendly. That alone made me want to come back. When I got back to the place I was staying I opened it up and was hit with a really fresh pleasant aroma. I got a sweet potato roll and a California roll (my 2 go to's being a beginner sushi eater) they were both extremely delicious. This review is based on their lunch specials - by far the best lunch deals of any sushi place I've visited so far. I commonly see a 2 roll or 3 roll lunch deal at sushi restaurants, but the selection of rolls on the lunch special menu is why I love them compared to the competition. Went there with my family on Monday, they have a great all you can eat menu for 18.95 which includes all kinds of rolls; sushi; sashimi; chinese and japanese "cooked" foods; appetizers; soups and salads. Food was absolutely delicious and rolls incredibly prepared. Our server was awesome, she was very attentive and very sweet. We will definately be returning. I really enjoyed our recent meal here---we went for an early dinner and had the place almost to ourselves, so the service was super fast and efficient. The food was very good as well; one thing I noticed was that the soup/salad was pretty substantial compared to other sushi places. The sushi was fresh, no complaints there. If you go, I'd definitely recommend getting one of the specialty rolls---we tried the mango tuna roll and I loved the mango sauce. read more

We got a flyer from this place and decided to give it a try. It's in the Stop N Shop plaza in Berlin. The sign on the door almost made me turn away. It said "We closed Monday." I thought they meant they closed this past Monday. Apparently they meant they ARE closed on MondayS. That was kind of funny. There was only one other couple in the dining room. We were seated right away and asked for our drink order. I asked if they do a Scorpion Bowl. They don't have a liquor license. I was very disappointed about that and really needed a scorpion bowl after a long stressful week. So we got green tea instead. That was complimentary. Other people came in after we were seated. But I wouldn't say they were hopping on a Friday night. We ordered the spicy tuna tartar, which was great. It had a lot of crunch on top. We also got the Black Dragon roll which had shrimp tempura, eel, avacodo and tobiko. Very tasty. We also got the Tripple Double roll, which was tuna, salmon, and I think yellow fin tuna. That was good too but not as good as the Black Dragon. The service was great. They brought each thing one by one. The décor was interesting, bright yellow walls, aqua wall lanterns and maroon and gold oriental carpet. Not my taste, but it was clean. Second attempt at this place and first review on here. First time eating I ordered General Tso's to go. I had sushi the night before so opted for the Asian menu. Top 5 worst Generals I've had. I asked for well done it was far from that. Watery taste and overall disappointment. I remember even the egg roll being subpar. Fast forward to today where once again I was craving Thai not sushi. Based on the reviews most people only get sushi. The worst Chicken Pad Thai ever. A minuscule amount of barely cooked chicken and the over abundance of onions I knew before I opened it when I saw a lemon instead of the traditional lime I was in for a disappointment. Excellent food, some of the best Chinese Japanese food you can get around the Hartford area, definitely an unknown gem. Their general tso's chicken is unique and excellent, crab ragoon are overstuffed. Cheap lunch prices and fast service. We were here on a Friday night with a group of 10. There was another group about our size, and a few smaller groups/couples. The place was maybe 1/3-1/2 full. Two members in our group didn't get their food (Rolls) until everyone else was done. Waitress claimed they didn't have enough sushi chefs on. She also went "Oh yeah!" when asked when the rolls were coming. We think she forgot to put them in. We asked for the manager, and some consideration on the bill. We got none. Discovered this place on accident one night. We had turned in to the stop & shop plaza to turn around, and found sushi! The first thing my boyfriend and I ordered was the mango special roll. I believe that's what it's called. It's so delicious!! I love their miso soup, avocado salad, and at the end some fresh complimentary fruit. We had lived in new Britain at the time and they were kind enough to deliver if a driver was available. This place is a wonderful little hole in the wall, very unexpectedly delightful. I came here for the lunch special with a coworker and the best thing I can say about this place is...the food comes out fast! But, there is a catch... your food ends up being cold! The quality of the food, also leaves a lot to be desired. If your in the area I would just go to Asian Bistro! It costs a little more, but it is well worth it! This is by far, my favorite sushi place in CT. The sushi is always delicious and fresh, and the owner is nice and friendly. The servers are not great at helping first timer pick out sushi but you can't have everything I guess. To have some seriously good lunch deals, a ton of Asian style dishes for cheap and my favorite, 3 sushi rolls of your choice, and soup and salad for 10 bucks, a great value. I love the nice calm atmosphere and how the location is right in the center of town. They also deliver, which is very convenient. I visited this restaurant yesterday, a Sunday, to experience the All-You-Can-Eat offer that some of the other Yelpers wrote about. I arrived with a friend around 2pm and the restaurant was empty. We sat down and the server greeted us and asked for drink orders and left us to fill out the All-You-Can-Eat sheet. We ordered some smaller appetizers, 2 special rolls and 12 pieces of sashimi. We got our kitchen orders timely, followed by our sushi order. Everything was quite delicious. I've eaten at a couple All-You-Can-Eat places and this was definitely one of the better quality establishments. I was pretty impressed. But this is when it start's going down hill. We finished off the last bit of our sushi and still had some edamame to work on. The waiter came by and picked up the finished sushi platter. I waited for him to return to ask for another menu sheet so I can order just a couple more things, given that it is an All-You-Can-Eat. He came back quickly but instead of asking if we needed anything else, immediately handed me the check and was about to take off before I immediately said I wanted another menu. It should be noted that I did not ask for any dessert, which is the indicator the meal is over at many other All-You-Can-Eats, nor the check. I couldn't believe this type of behavior. The restaurant was empty except for my party and no one was waiting to be seated. I only ordered a couple things and I was getting rushed to leave. It was extremely unprofessional and rude. Instead of just correcting his mistake, he looked confused and hesitated before heading back to the front desk to consult the manager and come back with another menu. I brushed off the ordeal and placed just another order of miso soup, a chicken stick, and ice cream. I wanted more food but after what he just did I felt like they didn't want me to stay any longer. Me and my guest quickly finished our food, paid and left immediately. Sadly to say, I will not be returning. The treatment of me and my guest was pretty horrid and unexpected. I felt like I was being rude simply because I ate the All-You-Can-Eat option. Other places may have lower quality food but the service is much better, and that's where my business will be from now on. 2 Stars only because the food was pretty delicious. read more

Very, very friendly hostess/waitress. She told us the owner had just taken over the restaurant completely and they will soon be getting a liquor license for beer and wine. Until then it is BYOB. The menu is unique as it offers the basic chinese menu staples plus it offers japanese food items. Very cool and all the food we ordered was very good. They do offer brown rice as an upgrade as well. I like East Tokyo. That's why I hate to give it just three stars, but I'm still peeved about my last experience there. First, the positives: love that it's BYOB, the servers are friendly, and the food is consistently good, which makes me forget about the totally bizarre music that's always playing (90s boy bands?!) Now, why I'm peeved: I stopped in there the other night for a VERY SIMPLE takeout order I was told would take "10 or 15 minutes." OK, great. The place only had two tables, so that seemed legit. I wasted some time next door and came back 20 minutes later. No food! Long story short, I waited 45 minutes for my two simple rolls. Once I hit the 45 minute mark I asked the host to cancel my order because I needed to go. He told me "oh I just checked and they just started rolling the first roll! They already started it!" so I said fine. Five minutes later he came back and just shoved the bag into my hand without saying a word. It was like he was actually upset with me for having the nerve to ask to cancel my order after waiting 45 minutes. Sorry dude, didn't mean to upset you, but I also didn't mean to wait 45 minutes for a takeout order. If I had that kind of time, I would have just dined in! read more

This place is normally very good. The staff is very nice and the food is great. I'm not a big fan of the general tso's they have, but I love their edamame and lo mein. The seafood soup was also pretty good. The only issue I had (and the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars) is for one time I ordered. I called ahead. It was about 11:40am-11:45am. I was getting out of work next door around 12:00pm-12:15pm. So it was plenty of time for them to make the food. I arrived there after giving them a good 20-30 minutes to make the food. There was no one at the front desk. Which is odd, because there always is. And on top of that, the waitresses kept coming over and getting checks for people who were eating at the restaurant, but completely ignored me and the girl next to me. After standing there for at least 10-15 minutes, I asked someone if my food was ready yet. She asked what I ordered and I told her. And I told her I've been waiting for a while and that I ordered my food like 40-45 minutes ago. She went into the back and said it was almost ready. By the time I left, it was about 45 minutes to an hour from the time I ordered my food. It should not take that long to make some lo mein and edamame. I was very disappointed in the service that day. And they weren't even that busy. And one other time, the man at the front desk had a bit of an attitude and seemed stressed. You need to keep that energy and attitude out of that environment. But, those are the only issues I've had there. I plan to give it more chances than that, especially since the food is good and the atmosphere is lovely. read more
