The shop was clean and the aroma inside from freshly prepared donuts and pastry filled the air. I started talking about donuts being at Scott Airforce Base our daughter had bought and shared with us. She is no longer there so I was wanting to find the bakery. She proceeded to tell me it was they who cook all night Tuesday night into Wednesday morning then deliver the fresh donuts over there to sell. I know it's worth the ride on weekends to go them. This little donut spot in a strip mall by Collinsville High School in Caseyville is good! They are only open Thursday thru Sunday, so make this a stop on one of those 4 days and go early before they run out of your favorites. I love a good yeast raised glazed donut and they were delicious. I also like their cream cheese filled long john that is super yummy. The couple who own it is so sweet and nice, and they are making hot fresh donuts when you come in so the smell is amazing. I had to run an errand in Caseyville, IL this morning and decided to stop by @easttowndonuts ... There was a steady flow of customers coming in and out as the gentleman at the counter greeted each person with a smile. One thing that really stood out was how clean the storefront and tables were. As I was finishing up my order, the owner walked out with fresh maple bacon donuts. To my surprise, she is someone I know! She asked if it was my first time coming in, and it was....(First time customers get a free glazed donut). Normally, I go for the fancy/bougie donuts first, but today I was pleasantly humbled. The glazed donut was slightly warm, light and fluffy with a sweet and glossy glaze that was well balanced and didn't have me wondering if I needed to have labs done later. (If that went over your head, ask someone older than hip hop). The large box was for friends and they really enjoyed them, some even asked for the address. I am pretty sure this is what heaven tastes like. I just moved to the area and heard about this relatively new donut shop and had to check it out. When I got there at a little to 8:00 am they were out of everything! Someone had come in before me and bought them out! Thankfully there were enough donuts left to make a mixed dozen. I am from Connecticut and just moved here, and we take our donuts pretty seriously on the East coast. I have found the best donuts in Illinois. The old fashioned donut is so perfectly cake like and solid, and it's a meal in itself! The glazed? Oh god. The glazed melts in your mouth and it's so fluffy. Just after two donuts I was so full and on a sugar high! But they smell DIVINE. I can't wait to try more of the dozen I have. When I shared a picture with my family back in CT they all wanted me to send them the huge custard donut! I can't blame them. It's incredible in size AND taste. My husband is thrilled. This will be a regular morning treat for me since it's not far from home. Edit: we were able to save some donuts for the next morning. 10 seconds in the microwave and they taste like they are fresh! The cruller was so fluffy and light. My husband finally got to eat his Boston Cream and he was impressed. He said it wasn't heavy like others despite its size and the flavor was perfect. If I had to pick a favorite donut from East Town I wouldn't be able to. They're all delicious and offer such a good variety. I want to eat them all! read more

These are THE BEST DONUTS. Period. Hands. Down. Fight me. Only open friday-sunday 6am-12. Pre order on their website if you want what you want. I think you better be prepared to be standing at the door at 6 am if you want to just walk in and pick donuts. Now, here's the important part and what some crabby pants reviewers didn't get. They make them FRESH. for you, right there. So even if you ordered ahead of time, they are not glazed, filled, decorated until you show up!!! And it's literally 2 people, so.cut em some slack. You will be enjoying your happy little.donut in no time, so don't be crabby!! The donuts themselves are pillowy, not hard or stale. I mean, the only way you gonna know is if you just commit to getting them. I hope they thrive and are able to employ a few more people. For now, just know even if you wait 30 min.
