Soft serve ice cream in my home town! I've always been a fan of that other, venerable ice cream shop in town because I love their iceberg malt. I have family that lives in G.C. and every time we come to visit, a trip to the Dairy Bar is a must. I keep it nice and simple every time. A small vanilla ice cream with "crunch" toppings. The "crunch" topping is something of an addiction. I can't really put my finger on what it is exactly, but it's crunchy, it's sugary snd it's just flat out delicious. Whatever you order, please add the "crunch" as a topping.....seriously just do it. The rest of my family will switch it up and order various things every time we come and they've never been disappointed. I've been coming here for many years and hope that can continue for many years to come. A true gem of granite city and most definitely worthy of a 5 star review. read more

We are traveling from Southern California and came across this little gem! Kids asked for dessert after dinner, so we looked for place close to where we were staying and thankfully found the Dairy Bar! From the hot apple sundae, to the blizzards, to a classic hot fudge sundae...you won't be disappointed! Not only is are the treats tasty, the service and staff are friendly and genuinely kind! This spot is the very best for homemade ice cream. My family loves Lisa's Dairy Bar and will drive from all over the metro area just to pick up their ice cream! Friendly staff, cute little ice cream stand with a wide variety of menu items. You cannot go wrong stopping here for a treat. Wish they were open year-round! My favorite thing to order is the peanut butter chocolate chip blizzard. It's SO good. Made with chocolate hardshell, peanut butter, vanilla ice cream, and whipped cream on top. Based on ice cream alone, this place may be as good as it gets. It's rich and creamy, and it's why I get so excited when they open up in the springtime! I'm a classic vanilla guy, but their chocolate is great too. Throw in banana and strawberry flavors (made with the real fruits) and they have a dynamite lineup. My favorite part is their take on the blizzard though. Whatever mix-in you decide on, rest assured you're getting it!
