Hmmm... 7th Floor? More like the first floor for the branch. But, I think the seventh floor is offices only in the same building, and the public is not allowed up there unless you have permission. This location is probably one of the more beautiful branches compared to the other East West Banks. It has high ceilings, lots of natural lighting from all the surrounding glass windows, and it seems a bit more sleek. Maybe because I'm starting to get to know the employees who works here, I must say that everybody working in this branch is so nice and possesses a very professional attitude. My banking needs are met every time, and I'm happy to say my experience coming here is always stress free. The only thing I think that might need better planning is parking. Yes, you get a parking ticket as you drive into the huge parking structure, and the bank validates it for you in order to be free. If not validated, parking is expensive. I believe it's $1 75 for fifteen minutes. I wish they had an easy access parking lot outside the bank. But it probably won't happen because it's a high rise building, and there's just no room for it. There is street metered parking too. Better make sure you put coins in the meter, or else Pasadena Parking Enforcement will quickly catch you. The bottom line is this bank is beautiful and the staff is nice. It's just that parking is not convenient. It might be difficult for elders, or customers who needs to walk upstairs (which is far while carrying money) to make a deposit. A safety issue. read more

Their Bill pay department simply does not work. They hold on to your large amount of payment even though the due date (scheduled delivery date) was already set and reached. They kept missing the date, so your credit card simply does not get paid even though it was set up days ago before the delivery date. My guess is that they do not want the money to flow out of their bank because the payment is big. On the other hand, the small amounts will be paid on time without any delay regardless it is electronic or draft checks. Do you think that is strange?? read more

I went to the Chinatown branch in SF, CA where I am located. The rep Kristy Lee, recommended me to speak with her colleagues from the Pasadena branch, Stephen Yu and Jennifer Ho in regards to apartment loans. I am in the process of getting an appraisal for my apartment with their help. From the sounds of how everything is going, I can tell it will be quick. Much faster than other places I have gone. This past week, I had a major call from my East West home office wanting some information I could not provide. Continued use of my small business account was at stake. When I approached the Pasadena Branch teller, Verita instantly stepped up and asked what I needed. The work she had in her hands was passed off to another to gave me her undivided attention. I've been going to the East West banks in Arcadia for my parents, and none of them were as friendly as this one. They speak English (thank god, yes Im Asian but my Chinese sucks) perfectly. I came in one day and Jessy was amazingly helpful. She was enthusiastic and was willing to help with every little question or problem I had. She was easily the best customer rep I've ever encountered at any bank (I have BoA). I feel so happy to finally find an "Asian" bank that I don't feel awkward walking into. If I can, I will give it a negative. Never go to this branch for a purchase loan from the loan processor Kenneth Lien. He is not trustworthy and arrogant. He missed my client's deadline to close a purchasing because of his incapability to follow up and false promises. We ended up to compensate the seller $2,000 deducted from both agent's hardworking compensation to cover his mistake. I would never recommend anybody to go to him for any loan services unless you are prepared for surprises. read more

I opened an account at east West Bank, the lady sitting by the door LEILEI CHEN, was not friendly at all, their security staff kept close watch on me, constantly staring very rudely, i raised questions at his behavior, the lady LEILEI was such a bitch in her responses, she kept turning things around right in my face., I already noticed her bitch like attitude when I walked right in, I cannot deal with this kind of no class people, and immediately closed down my account., avoid this place they are bunch of creeps read more

Very frustrating experience with the servicing department today. I've submitted an additional request and will be willing to update my review based on how they respond. If the situation gets worse, I'll have to file a complaint with the office of the comptroller- that's how difficult this is getting. Was a client for 5 years, or 1825 days too long. Customer service is terrible. These people run the place like the mob. Request after request after request just so get "information for their people", whatever that means. Oh, and let's not forget an inability to keep account balances correct - yeah, they screwed that one up too. These people simply don't care about you or your business, they just want run you through the ringer, threaten you with defaults and make as much money as humanly possible. I cannot say enough good things about this branch. As a real estate investor I was able to do a Cash out refinance in a timely matter when other local banks took too long to process the loan or denied my request for whatever reason. Customer service is great and always attentive to my needs when it comes about banking and financing. Everyone is very polite and greet me and offers me coffee. Now, that is customer service!!. I will recommend this bank to anyone looking to refinance their property or just to open a new checking and saving account. I loved this bank when it was DCB. The customer service in the branch is always great! When I call the customer service number however the help is the worst I have ever experienced! The employees at the end of the phone are nice but they can not answer a single question pertaining to banking or my accounts. They seem lost and can not resolve or comprehend what I need. I wish I could give a zero star. They were having only one window open during the lunch hour while others were just walking around. Stop telling me to wait if you're not gonna help!!! East West in Pasadena has always given me very friendly customer service. Many times they've recognized me by name, and that feels great when dealing with a bank. Even during the lunch hour, I've almost never had to wait for assistance, and I've never been made to feel like using a teller is an inconvenience. Add to that that the branch interior is beautiful. I'm going to have a tough time leaving them if ever I have to move. read more

The worst bank Ive ever dealt with. Everything is a struggle with this bank, from checking statements online (need specialized software), to getting statements, to getting questions answered. I have a personal banker here (Jean) and she doesnt send the emails she says she would send. Also, when going to other branches, everyone tells you something different - most likely because they dont know. For instance, Ive been trying to close my accounts here for 2 MONTHS....and they keep telling me different things, tacking overages on, etc so I cant close the account. Ive requested multiple times, and they just tell you to write a check in the amount and the account will auto-close. Yet when I did that, they charged me for insufficient funds then wont let you close the account. Worst bank ever. Ive been closing all my personal and business accounts and will be getting my family accounts closed too. read more
