I took out a loan with my local credit union, who connected me with Anthony from Carscouts. During an emotional time when I needed to find a new car quickly at a great rate (emphasis on GREAT), Anthony went above and beyond to make the entire process easy and enjoyable. From our first conversation, it was evident that if it mattered to me, it mattered to Anthony. I provided him with the following requirements: aesthetic body shape, a beautiful interior dash, good gas mileage, enough space to transport new furniture without being TOO big, and only essential safety features without unnecessary add-ons that just add to the cost. I'm not comfortable at their new location and I don't like the lack of privacy when transacting with a teller. The people in line overhear everything, including how much money I'm withdrawing and then walking back to my car by myself in a questionable area. Combine that with their mediocre customer service these days and it's making me think I need to leave them behind. Also, I thought it was telling while reading one of these reviews and the "business owner" responded thanking the reviewer & said she was happy the reviewer liked the employee she was complaining about. Pasadena Federal Credit Union has deteriorated greatly in the past few years. Their customer service is non-existent, after being one of the best for decades. I first joined in the 90's and was impressed with their personal, caring employees. This changed dramatically as leadership changed and policies changed. The staff members at the Fair Oaks location greeted customers by name and were friendly and kind. The employees at the new branch are cold and unhelpful. Policies have changed as well. Today I called and spoke to Denise, she was very rude, did not provide good customer service, over-talked me as I was explaining my issue. She got frustrated having to explain. Okay- I have nooooo reason to have my $ with them. This bank has deteriorated greatly. If you close your account make sure to call in advance so they're able to withdraw your funds in a timely manner. My first annoyance was the fact that I called in advanced to withdraw a sum of $. Doesn't really matter what I needed it for the point is I followed their protocol- call in advance to ensure they'd be able to accommodate. I answered all their questions on why I needed to withdraw the $ but they said they couldn't allow me to withdraw the $. I would need to withdraw smaller increments at a time. So instead of 1 transaction I would need to make 7 on different days. My annoyance only grew when I was forced to get a new car. My car gave out on me so I went into the market for a new car. My first stop was the credit Union for a car loan. You would think they'd WANT my business- I've been a customer for this bank for years. I have amazing credit and a great cc WITH them. They ran my numbers everything was good but it was a horrible experience with Brenda. Why did I have to be behind her to get my approval letter, for a follow up, for ANY update? I definitely didn't feel like a valued customer. Toyota offered me a better deal on my brand new car through their financing so I didn't have to go through the credit union in the end (thank god!). FYI they also don't accept coins, you'll have to deposit those at another bank. Customer service is almost non existent. I don't know why I'm still a customer here, I guess because I don't want to deal with the headache of closing my account but the end is fast approaching for me. read more

Hahah So they offered very low interest rate for my bf's car so he decided to open an acct with them so I was only here to deposit a check for my bf. The staffs we're very friendly. And they were able to just email the deposit receipt to my bf. I found that very economical because most people would just toss it at the end anyway. Or if you're someone who likes to keep them, it's a safer location in email anyway so you won't accidentally drop it or something, unless you decided to delete your email. Parking was also easy access but it was harder to turn into the plaza if you had to make a left turn bc you'll be blocking traffic. read more

I don't like posting things about financial institutions. These guys are legit though. I mean, they really seem to be common man-oriented, if you know what I mean. At their old place on Fair oaks they had a mural on the ceiling and the cop in the mural looked just like my Tio Carlos; it was a trip. Occasionally, I get attitude from them, but this just illustrates that they're just everyday people trying to make a living through a situation maybe even they don't fully understand, so it's good to cut them some slack. I had no real problems since I started banging their back in the day and I think they're a great place although I have to wonder about the efficacy of the recent move to the little strip mall next to food 4 less.
