The artillery tank displays in the front of the building were great for photo ops. Inside there is a tiny gift shop with memorabilia. Everything from wood models, lego, magnets, patches, T-shirt's and even baby onesies. Almost considered buying gift for family but too indecisive. Inside the museum there were displays WWII artifacts,after the war and Vietname war among others. It was interesting to read about and kids seemed to enjoy it. Decent size museum not too much walking involved. Also set up ramps for handicap, seniors and strollers inside.

The vibes here are especially nice and welcoming. The history is rich and deep - and presented wonderfully. This is also a great place to come to get some really cool pictures! Bonus: They even have a little planetarium with a few shows each day. Be sure to add this museum to your list when you visit Oahu!

What a terrific visit. It all started with a bus ride, yes a bus ride to a residential area that did not for a minute look like the home of an amazing museum. It housed and amazing history of the Hawaiian people and how it became what it is today. The place has a Hall of Fame for Hawaiian athletes plus a planetarium. Admission is reasonable. The people there are wonderful and we had a terrific time. Don't waste you money with a cab ride. Take the # 2 bus and sit back and relax with the real people of Hawaii.

What a fun way to build community!…read more Aloha Trinket Box has two locations: one is in Kaimuki on Waialae Avenue, in front of Keep It Simple store... and this one is in Kaka'ako, in front of Fishcake. The exterior paint makes it look like a box of Hawaiian sweet rolls... cool! Inside, the shelving and hooks contained stickers, tiny figurines, bracelets, etc. It was a unique bartering experience, based on the honor system! We took a pineapple-shaped sticker and left a kokeshi doll keychain! Go and see if it's still there!

Blooming with creativity…read more.. That's one thing that does excite me whenever there's a market and this one does branch out a bit differently as it does includes various plants for sale as well. Though I'm not much of a green thumb having folks who know how to care for them does make a difference and who wouldn't want to take home something that brighten up your space. Speaking of it's not just plants but various pottery from the Hawaii Potters Guild which was very nice as each table is from a different member was so impressive to see so many creative items. What I also love is that you find various treats from My Sweet World with lots of munchies and of course matcha...I was so surprised to see Walking Bean Cafe was there and got a cup of Iced Honey Yuzu Matcha a favorite refresher of mine that really helped cool me down. Aloha Drapery and Kreative Kama'aina was there to see something new they have and it's pillows with two types of filling and got one specifically difficult to find the uniqueness of this market really surprised me and learned a lot from various vendors was so cool. Keeping it local and supporting these various artists is great at this spot as it's free to the public and with that savings I put it towards my purchase. Thank you!

Located above Longs Drugs and in the Hallmark wing, the Kawaii Friends Fair is a great indoor craft fair with carpeting, free shared parking, convenient restroom, no admission fee, and good air-conditioning! There was a map on their Instagram page - that showed which vendor would be there both days, and which ones would be there just Saturday (7.25.26) or just Sunday (7.26.26). They're so organized! If you spend $10 or more at a vendor's booth, you can get a stamp on the Loyalty Card. Five stamps from different vendors gets you an entry into the drawing for great prizes! Local small businesses were selling handmade greeting cards, keyring, crocheted plushies, clothing, tote bags, jewelry, and more! I'm looking forward to their next event!

This was the first vendor we visited at the Kawaii Friends Fair, located on the top level of Downtown Pearlridge, by Dunkin Donuts and Planet Fitness. The Soft Arts, LLC, has really high quality handmade merchandise! The stitching is very even and straight! I was drawn to the Miffy zippered pouch because of the patchwork. Little fabric squares were arranged into a neat alternating, simple design. She used small square scraps from a tote bag project and cleverly repurposed them! I needed that unique creation... and I got a stamp on my card to place into the drawing after 5 stamps! Thank you for the polite, friendly service and the cool Miffy pouch!

This…read moreevent are not just crafters but various local small biz all under the roof of Pearlridge Mall Wai Makai side and you know that's free parking at air-conditioned shopping experience along with restrooms and entertainment it's a free experience just window shopping alone though good luck walking away without finding some cuteness at great prices here. Practically filled the whole corridor are vendors of all kinds and with a minimum purchase from any vendor you get a stamp and once filled you enter a drawing for prize is a great bonus considering you're already supporting our local small business and a cause which is usually to various charities as well. This free event is a fun one that I do love to go whenever I have the chance as it's on both Saturday and Sunday which gives many a chance to shop and not be limited to a short amount of time. Strolling around the Kawaii Friends Fair on the upper level of the mall, along the Dunkin Donuts and Planet Fitness wing (Downtown Pearlridge), we came across: kj's kreations There were so many bins of cute things! I thought that I should get some for party favors for a lunch next week with my female cousins. There were Hello Kitty keyrings, Stitch notebooks, hand sanitizer holders ($8), Labubu topped pens ($2), and more! I liked the items that were priced 4 for $10. What a deal! Service was very friendly and helpful. The sweet gal was just laughing along as I added more items to my bill. She offered me another stamp card - one stamp per vendor per $10 spent - for the Kawaii Friends Fair. I'll be back!
