I'm not sure whether I had a swedish massage or not, all I know is I had a young, tall woman named Paris who was fabulous. One of the best massages I have ever had, hands down. Two drawbacks worth mentioning: one, there's a dance studio directly below the spa, and I could hear the music from that space, and at one point during the massage even felt the vibrations through the floor. The past few times I went I enjoyed this place but not this time. The massage wasn't that good and there were a few times I questioned as to whether or not she had ever been trained. There were some painful (and not in a good way) moments. It wasn't the worst ever but the reason I'm moving on from this place was that experience in combination with the response I got when i went to use my groupon. The manager told me that she only uses groupon for advertising and I couldn't use it because I was a repeat customer. I told her, well if that's how you want it you should state that in the groupon terms that you set. No where on the groupon does it say "only for new customers." The fact that she didn't set the terms that she wanted is not my fault. She was also upset that I didn't mention that I had a groupon, again not my problem. I had to basically argue with her to redeem something that was perfectly within my right to use. So never again. Any sort of relaxation I had from the massage was gone right away. After initially trying a few other massage spas locally in Vienna - all so-so -- I discovered East Wing Spa, have been going there since 2016, and now wouldn't ever go anywhere else. The ladies there are totally professional, the facility is clean and comfortable, and the ladies' working hands and background music will fully relax and refresh you in every measure. Their days and hours of availability are extensive and convenient - best to call for an appointment, but a walk-in is not impossible -- and they are generous with the time. And as a side note, there are plenty of parking spaces and with easy street access & exit - but recommend both entry and exit to their parking lot from/to the west-bound direction on Maple Ave. A masseuse in Alexandria VA I frequented, starting in 1998, retired to Indiana about 8 years ago, and it took me awhile to find a suitable replacement. .Everything about East Wing Spa is 5-star - more stars if I could. read more

I came here for my birthday for some relaxation and was blown away by the wonderful service and experience. The massage itself was probably the best massage I've ever had done and I'm definitely coming back here. It was my first time having a thai massage but I could tell she was an expertise at what she does. She told me my shoulders were very stiff and gave special attention to that, as well as my lower back where I have chronic pain issues.. Guess what? NO PAIN TODAY! After a very very long week of installing performance flooring in three days solo in the kitchen, my knees were beyond shot. Wrists and elbows were so tight my fingers tingled or went numb from onset of carple tunnel symptoms. East Wing Spa were very accommodating with a last minute massage and took me in for their one hour massage and was lucky enough to have a therapist named Nancy. Booked a 50 minute massage with hot stones for my wife and I and it was amazing. The entire experience from the beginning to end was top notch. The staff were professional and courteous. The ladies that did our massages worked wonders. My wife and I felt brand new once we were done with our massages. I've never left a review before but this is ridiculous. I called and scheduled an appointment and she was very eager to take me today. So I booked it and then I told her I have a Groupon. She then said that they can't see me today. So you're willing to see me if I have cash but not a groupon? She then proceeded to tell me that they need to make money and groupon takes half of their money. I'm pretty sure your business agreed to a partnership with groupon that was the deal you made. Really applied pressure in an Eastern style that got out the knots from stress and sitting. I must agree w/ a lot of what Jessica G wrote below. However, if you are not ashamed of your bod and don't mind portions of your tuchus hanging out from a small towel as they work your lower back, glutes and hamstrings...c'est la vie. Yes. East Wing Spa really is as good as it gets. I noticed that it's been a while since my last review and I thought I'd confirm that Linda and her staff of massage angels are still the best I've ever found -- and I say that based on decades of therapeutic and sports massage experience. I can't pick a "favorite" -- you can read other reviews for that -- every masseuse is a little different in technique, but I've never had a bad experience in the past four or five years I've been going to East Wing. All rooms are private, clean, and quiet with gentle "new age" music. The tables are pre-heated and comfortable. The experience can be as relaxing or as strenuous as you wish. Although I have not encountered any language issues, I read some comments about language comprehension and my suggestion is to explain at the front desk and directly to the masseuse what you're looking for and whether there are any body parts you want emphasized or avoided. read more

They have very reasonably priced massage packages. I've gotten massages from many different places all over the world, often having to pay much more, but prefer the massages at East Wing. Went for first time today and had a good experience. The spa is nicely equipped and convenient for a routine treatment. If you are looking for a quiet relaxing experience, go on a Sunday or day when there are no dance classes in the space below as the music is playing and drowns out the relaxing music. Jenny does not working at East Wing Spa anymore!! :( I had a very sweet lady named Jin yesterday for a 60 min deep tissue massage.. however i feel like her massage methods are questionable. I'm not sure if she is a certified masseuse. Most of the time she is rubbing up and down my back but the way she did it, hurt my back bone at times. She also massaged my armpits (Yes, armpits.. I was quite surprised as well) pretty hard as if there were pressure points under there. She also stretched my neck in ways that were uncomfortable, it felt as though she was about to pull a muscle in my neck. She kept repeating it many times from the left & right side! She also claimed I was very flexible so she stretched my legs to the point I was doing a one legged split on the massage table. I wish Jenny was still working here, she hit all the right muscles and was amazing! read more

I'll start by saying that I'm giving them 2 stars because our first experience was very pleasant and welcoming, something that I cannot say for the second visit. So the second time around we came for a couples massage on the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend. It wasn't too busy and we called ahead to make an appointment. The lady took us to our massage room. It took the therapists awhile to arrive, probably because they were having their lunch when we came in (it was 1pm) and the first 10-15 minutes of my treatment I heard my therapist still chewing.. It wasn't a relaxing experience since the massage therapists kept coming in and out of the room (maybe bringing stuff?) - meaning they were not prepared well for the treatment, and also kept the door open a little so we heard people going through the hallway. The massage was ok, not great. I had to tell my therapist several times that it was too much pressure for me and that it hurts a little. The worst part of the experience started when we checked out they charged us $130 for the couples massage, even though it was supposed to be $120 ($60 per person). They claim it's because we were in the couples room. What? If anything it should be less since we took one room instead of two, so that leaves them another available room for massage! It wasn't a bigger room the usual and we didn't even ask being in the same room for the massage. Now for the worst part: while my husband was waiting for me at the front they had asked him for a tip!! Seriously? We haven't left yet and we were going to leave them a tip, but being so rude and ask for a tip? Reluctantly we gave the therapists a tip and they said it's not enough and should be at least 20% of the service fee. Unbelievable! Since when?? At this point we were extremely pissed and said politely 'thank you!' and left. That's about sums it up.. Never going back there again. read more

My husband and I called on a Sunday at 6PM and they got us in for a 7 PM massage. As luck would have it, I got a migraine right after we booked it and I felt awful. I didn't want to cancel on them since they squeezed us in, and I'm so glad I didn't. My appointment was with Yuyu and she was amazing. She had a firm but gentle touch and she had me smell some Eucalyptus/Spearmint blend while massaging my head/scalp. By the end of the massage, my migraine was gone. When I saw my husband after our time was up, it was clear he had just woken up:) His appointment was with Berry and he said she was fantastic too. We usually buy Groupons to find good deals, but $49 is not much more to spend when you know you're getting the best massage you've had in forever. read more

There was a 1 hour deep tissue massage by East Wing Spa on Groupon and after checking them out on Yelp (5 stars) I quickly took advantage. I'm so glad I did! I made an appointment for a Friday at 10:30am. Only 15 minutes away from home, you would think this would be no problem. Think again. Accident on 66, one lane traffic on 123... I clearly was not going to make my appointment on time even though I left an hour before my appointment time. I gave the spa a call and told them I was only a mile away but not moving fast - they told me it was ok, they would see me when I arrived. 20 minutes later, I was pleasantly greeted and assured not to worry. They completely put me at ease - I don't like to be late for appointments. I filled out their paperwork quickly and my massage began. It was wonderful! Although there was a bit of a language barrier, my masseuse was so sweet. She provided me with a great massage, including hot towels on my legs, a head rub and the stretching of my limbs. The hour flew by! When it was over, my masseuse gave me water and the receptionist provided me with a coupon for 5 $50 massages valid for the next two months. Bazinga! I will definitely be back to cash in that - great massage for a good price by people who put you at ease! As another Yelper stated, EWS is located in a building with a dance studio. I have no idea how this place has so many good reviews. I even went twice because I thought it might be a fluke. The second time I went with my sister and we asked for a shared room - they told us once we were on the beds that it would cost extra. The two women kept talking to reach other, the rooms are cold, the masseuses kept walking out of the room (twice to answer the phone the 1st time I went) about 5-7 times! I paid for a reflexology and acupressure massage, but got lord-knows what. She was rough despite me asking her to be gentler about 5 times and she didn't use any technique I've ever experienced. She didn't seem to have any training. The massage started late and ended early. 10 minutes into the massage she asked if I had an appointment and for what time. The experiences were awful, so from now I will only go to Waterfalls Spa - it's only a few doors down and fantastic. read more

She uses just the right amount of pressure to get my knots out, and I appreciate that she knows what she's doing. My husband and I did the couples massage. They were nice enough to accommodate us with short notice. BUT it was the WORST massage that I ever had in my entire life. I like deep tissue but my masseuse hands are hard as a rock. I have to ask her multiple times to be gentle on me because she was hurting me. She doesn't focus on one area, she's too fast and all over the place. My husband didn't get his front quads and upper, lower leg massage at all. She even said she DID NOT HAVE TIME to do it! Unreal. The place was also too close to the road that you can hear the cars and motorcycles go by quite loudly. They try to make it right by giving us 20% off on our next massage but we are not coming back and definitely NOT going to recommend it to our families and friends. read more

I got a living social deal for this place and used it. I got the 60 minute deep tissue massage. It was one of the best massages I've gotten. I told her which areas I wanted her to work on, which was my shoulders and lower back and that Is where she spent most of her time. It was the right amount of pressure she used. It felt so good to get those knots worked out. They have kind of a thick accent but I was still able to understand what they were saying. Not going to lie, this place looks sketch. But I swear, it's nothing but fabulous massages at a great price!! Found it while searching for a place a friend and I could get a massage on a Sunday without an appointment the same day at the same time. Yeah, nearly impossible, right? Not with East Wing. We called and there was a little bit of a language barrier but she was very clear that we 'come now' and they got us in right away. I've been back at least 4 times so far and have no interest in trying another place. You cannot beat this quality for this price. I've had massages all over the world so I'm used to different techniques and styles. Hopefully you're not shy. They massage all the way up to the groin, your entire butt, and sometimes your stomach. It just depends on who your therapist is. I assure you this is normal anywhere in the world. They also do a bit of stretching you out by manipulating your legs and arms (might want to wear underwear if you are modest). I always go here for the 1hour deep tissue. It doesn't matter who I get, they are all great. Just the right amount of pressure with the right amount of oil ( I hate when there is too much friction with my skin). They even hop on the table to use their body weight for the pressure sometimes. They always find the stubborn knots and are willing to customize the massage by focusing on the areas that need it the most. I never have to tell them anything...they just know. I don't know if I would go here for a strictly relaxing massage. Sometimes the ladies go in and out of the room to get stuff or to answer questions and this could be distracting. Also, sometimes the room and table are too cold or hot for my tastes but I'm sure if I said something they would adjust it. There is a language barrier but it is manageable. They generally know exactly what you are talking about even if they are not verbalizing it. You do not need an appointment but you might have to wait a bit to get in. Also, the location is at the back of a multi-use building. Park near the back at the walk-up ramp. read more
