I've been going to Lysa for a little over a decade now and she never ceased to amaze me. Last week I visited her and as she was taking my pulse, she asked me if I had been drinking? I don't drink, aside from Kombucha (which has small traces of alcohol). She told me something was going on with my liver, my blood levels were low and she also mentioned my liver was doing a lot of detoxing. I was confused for a moment, then I remembered I had been drinking several cups of a tea called "Food for the Blood" for a few weeks. She told me to stop drinking it. Apparently I was going overboard with detoxing/purifying my blood. She must've seen the stunned look on my face because she chuckled and said "Your body told on you." I'm going to start calling her the "Body Whisperer." Lysa is the truth. I'm so glad I found her. I've followed her from Eden Center, to Silver Spring and now back to Falls Church. Dr. Yen is very patient, understanding and knowledgeable. Though sometimes communication is a bit strained because of language barriers, Dr. Yen makes certain there is understanding. She wanted me to give her at least 3 months because acupuncture (and most eastern medicine) itself is not a fast treatment as your body has to adjust and slowly heal yourself from within. But also a women's eggs each cycle, are nurtured 3 months in advance. I conceived naturally by the end of month 3. However, the timing and need to go here weren't aligned. I was greeted by the receptionist who might be Dr. Kevin's wife...(this was the impression I had) ...I was given some paperwork to fill out. Once done, I was lead to the examination room near the front desk.    I had seen this place offers acupuncture, acupressure and chiropractic treatments.   I thought this might be a great place for my wife who is having some back issues. Dr. Kevin lead me through the proper procedures of a dot physical and passed me.  When I did the urinalysis cup test, my pee I admit was Mello Yellow. I wasn't drinking enough water.   I was informed cutting back on processed food would be advised, but that is easier said then done.  Nevertheless, I have cut back on this, but it isn't all the way gone. It's a process.  In the end, the receptionist printed out and lamented my Dot card to wallet size.  I find this the coolest of all.  This is an added bonus that really make this business stand out from other Dot physical places.
