Went here for a routine check up and to get an evaluation of what dental work I needed done. After the evaluation that identified 4 major items to be done, I started with a root canal telling the doctor that I was somewhat hesitate to do this without sedation as I did not do well with dental work. Came ten minutes early to my appointment today for a scheduled filling. Has been scheduled over two weeks. Came in today early and sat there for 45 minutes before I got a little upset, asked what's taking so long. Was told that the doctor is running late should only be another 45 minutes. Sat even longer, until they told me the doctor might not be able to see me today, meanwhile ten other patients have been in and out since I've showed up. Ended up wasting two hours of my life here without the doctor even showing up or apologizing for how u professional he or she was. What a wonderful first time experience I had at Eastern Dental of Lacey yesterday 1/5/21...from the minute you walk in to leaving the chair there are so many Covid safety protocols in place. The receptionists Jennifer and Jodi were so nice and helpful, with a smile you could hear behind their mask. Dr. Dubman was funny, gentle and very honest. A few years ago, I was in extreme pain due to impacted wisdom teeth. At the time, I was working a lot to pay student loans and little else, so I couldn't afford an expensive procedure. I was in crippling, skull-penetrating pain for three years. I'm very appreciative of Dr. Dubman's help, at Eastern Dental. He was able to help me keep costs manageable by accommodating what I could afford with assistance of credit. I struggled with the worst pain of my life, and he was the only dentist in the area willing to help me afford care. If I hadn't moved out of the area soon after, I would be returning now that I have insurance. read more

I love this practice. It's easy to schedule on short notice. The front desk has ALWAYS been so pleasant! Dr. Dubman is so funny and so honest about what you need. He gives you a full explanation, of what you need, with no pressure to do it all, if you don't choose to. Dental work is expensive especially if you have no insurance. They have a dental insurance you can buy at an extremely low low price, right there. Whenever I've needed expensive work done, I've called around (over 15 other dental offices in this area) to see what they would charge for the same procedure; and Eastern Dental has always been the most affordable. If I could give 0 stars I would!!! Dubman the dentist is HORRENDOUS. Not only as a dentist but as a human. He goes out of his way to make clients feel bad. I had 0 cavities and he went through a list asking if I ate candy I said no, juice, no, he literally went through a list until he said tic tacs and I said sure occasionally. He yelled THATS WHY YOU HAVE BAD TEETH, with no cavities... after that I never went back. He fought with my father about politics , why is a dentist bringing up politics to his client. And the reason I'm writing the review is for my poor 4 year old nephew who went to the dentist for the first time. Dubman was not at all comforting to him, extremely cold. Once he was done he told my 4 year old nephew he could never eat candy again. My nephew sadly looked and said not even Halloween, dubman said not even Christmas or Halloween. My nephew is terrified to go back to the dentist now. When this happened my sister for the right reasons told dubman how terrible that was and dubman and dubman screamed in her face, in front of a 4 year old to get out!!!!!!!!!! The only reason they're even getting one star is because I can't give zero stars. The dentist was rude, uncaring, unprofessional, and I didn't appreciate the way he spoke to me or my child. I was told she had to have baby teeth pulled due to crowding. He didn't give the novocaine any time to kick in before he started the extractions, and began loudly yelling at her because she was crying. I told him she's 6 years old. She's scared. Of course she is going to cry and his yelling isn't going to help calm her down. He then rudely told me I'm not the dentist he is, so perhaps I should leave the room, and got angry with me when I refused. All he did when he was done was pack her mouth with gauze and tell me we could leave now. No telling me about after care or anything, just "you can leave now." Seriously? BEWARE of this dentist. Dr.Dubman is the worst human let alone dentist I have ever met in my life. I don't believe he knows what he's even doing and just likes to berate and fight with people. I have been going here for a while due to insurance and have always put up with his disgusting attitude, but today is the last time I go here. I brought my 4 year old son for his first check up and it was completely ruined by Dubman.Aside from the fact that I was there waiting for 2 1/2 hrs, he didn't even introduce himself to my son who was scared out of his mind being there, did absolutely nothing to ease his mind. I let the unfriendliness go. He looks at his teeth and tells me "no more juice" I said, he doesn't drink juice, I said he has candy every now and then, especially since Halloween and Christmas just passed. He YELLS at me gets in my face in front of my 4 year old, husband, and 9 month old and says Halloween was 3 months ago, and he can have zero candy or his teeth will be ruined. Everyone knows that that is a very unreasonable and unrealistic thing to do. The man is screaming and arguing about how Halloween candy doesn't last for 3 months. I told him I was done with his horrendous attitude that he always has and he said "good, bye bye" shooing me and my 4 year old out. I left not even knowing the state of my teeth or my sons. I do not know how this man stays in business. He shouldn't be working with the public, has no common sense or social skills. There is something wrong with this man. Not going back..I understand a directors job is to make money for the business but at who's expense. Both my husband and I had been told we needed the deep gum cleaning at around 1200.00 a couple of years ago..my husband had it done, I didn't. We were both told we needed this again 6 months ago..this particular dentist told me my gums were bleeding and were in bad shape, then the hygienest told me my teeth and gums were in good shape. That was the end for me..went to another dentist and lo and behold neither of us needed the deep cleaning, both us were told our gums were in good shape. TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!! Rude & making up procedures that don't even need to be done to me. Back in May I got two fillings done on the top of my mouth, in the teeth all the way in the back. Before I went in, they were taking forms of payment...I told the woman I wanted silver because it was free and since it was the back of my mouth, I figured you wouldn't see it....I got them done that day and afterwards the dentist performing the fillings on me told me she accidentally filled it white and will make a note on my chart to NOT CHARGE ME. I came in to the office yesterday for my last filling and the woman behind the front desk has told me that I had a $240.00 balance from my last filings...I explained to her that the dentist accidentally filled white and told me she made a note to not charge me because it was her mistake. The women called me a liar and went to the dentist to ask her if this situation happened and she actually said, "I never had a conversation with anyone regarding not charging them" This place is terrible and money hungry. I got a filing that hurt me for 4 months and I went back and the male dentist there told me that "it needs to settle in" -- HOW DOES THAT MAKE SENSE? I rather of not even gotten the filling if it was going to hurt for 4 months resulting in me STILL not being able to bite down on it. Before I switched to Eastern, I went to a place in Toms River and a month before my insurance changed the TR office told me I had 2 cavities...I came to Eastern a month later and they told me I had 5..IMPOSSIBLE. They wouldn't even show me my x-rays with the "cavities". Last time I will ever step in this office was the other day, I do not recommend it to ANYONE. read more
