I use to like this place a lot the prices were great and the massage was great as well but now its just a rip off i paid for a full body massage and they didnt do a full body all they did was my feet my back and shoulders they didnt do arms or legs and they barely used any oil they just put a sheet over my back and rub my back as if that was going to do anything i came out with the same pain i came in with ill never waste my money here again i rather go somewhere pay a little more and actually feel better walking out dont even waste your time with these fools read more

I frequently go to $20/hr full-body massages and this one is by far, is my favorite. I got Emily and her hands are so small but so soft and relaxing! Now, if you're not used to the Eastern massages, this one will be quite different and you have to say "soft" or "medium" to indicate the pressure you'd like if it's your first time to prevent getting sore the next day. So basically, you go in and there's a detailed board which describes which areas you would like massages, how strong you want the massage to be and the prices. They have 30 minutes massages available up to an hour and a half. What I like about this place is that it's actually dark and quiet and the massage sofa/chairs are comfortable. The atmosphere is peaceful. I always forget to bring some lavender oil to smell when I flip over and my face is in the small opening. Of course there's some whispering Mandarin talk back and forth but the good massage makes up for it. They do lay a towel on the massage chair and where you lay your face on and I'm assuming they're clean because there's a washer in the back. Remember-you can always tell the masseur or masseuse if you want the pressure softer or harder. Also of your not comfortable about what they're doing let them know right away, don't take it to heart. Some won't understand, so just use hand gestures :) I do recommend it for all of you $20/hr massage hunters out there. If you're too picky or afraid to be touched and whatnot, go find another place. read more

I have been coming here for years. I had called ealier to ask for 1 hr massage amd the told me at 9:00 PM , I said no thank you I will call tomorrow. I get a call and the lady told me you can come in at 7, I drove from Redlands to here and got here at 7:10. She even txted me and told me they had a slot open. Once I get here she tells me only 30 mins when I specifically had requested 1 hr it takes me 25 mins to get here and for her to rudely say only 30 mins & I said how long I drove she said 30 mins or bye, I left. I did the $30 60 min combo massage. They charge you an extra dollar to use your card. I had a $10 bill cash to use for tip. I asked for change. The cashier proceeded to give me two five dollar bills. I then asked for some one dollar bills and they seemed very shocked by this request. It was uncomfortable and frankly a little insulting to anyone with intelligence. 20% of $30 would be a SIX DOLLAR tip. I understand however this is a very labor intensive job and take that into account. So even though my massage was lack luster, average at best I intended on leaving eight dollars. A tip is performance based. If your performance is subpar your tip reflects that. Now onto what made the massage average at best. My masseuse used her elbows the entire time minus I would say a total of five minutes during the body part of the massage. Strokes were abrupt and not relaxing at all. Her elbow would even hit a bone from time to time. This review may seem harsh but the tip part really pissed me off and hopefully the manager speaks to staff and tells them not to treat someone like a leper for leaving a near 30% tip. Very inexpensive, always fairly great service and good firm massage. Have been coming here for at least 7-8 years now and will keep coming back again and again. Their foot massage is great love the warm water, and the hot stone massage at the end. Request a private room if you prefer hand to skin massage instead of on top of a towel or sheet. I'd say the only down fall is the phone, sometimes they are short staffed or the massage therapist answers the phone and talks very loudly to customers in the middle of others massages. I've gotten used to it by now and sound it out and just enjoy my massage despite it. Maybe bring ear plugs for those more sensitive to sound. read more

New owners again. The prices have been raised. All I heard throughout my massage were people shocked about the new pricing. It's disheartening cause they won't post the price on their website anymore. You just walk in and SURPRISE you're paying more! They only accept cash upfront. Normally I wouldn't mind the increase but now they are at professional pricing with no professionals working there. You could get an actual real massage with a professional for the same amount they're charging now. I loved going here before cause you could walk in, get an OK massage, pay with card at a decent price and tip with cash but unfortunately after all these years I don't think I'll be coming back, because again, I can get a better massage for the same price now. read more

A friend told me that she saw this place on the way home from work and so we decided to give it a try since my neck has been aching. Walking in I saw no one was there but us. The man said CASH ONLY AND YOU MUST PAY IN ADVANCE. We looked at each other and said okay. The could not provide a receipt nor a business card. Then in his next breath he said "well they may not be in business next month". Things that make you go hummmm. They took us to a curtained off area behind the cash register. Closed the curtains and left us there. We were not sure of the protocol we looked at each other giggled and waited. Usually they will give you a sheet and tell you where to put your clothes or if the just do above the clothes they instruct you to put your feet in the tub and pull up your pant. Well we heard lots of commotion while we waited for over 10 minutes. I stuck my head out and asked about protocol. One of the women ran in sounding annoyed saying strip and lay down. We finally got settled and on man and one woman entered. I ended up with the man and he really needed schooling on massage. This is going to sound vulgar but the best way to describe the way his massage technique is like a boy jerking off. Hard and fast. NOT a way to massage or even touch a woman. When I told him that my pain is in my neck and shoulders he avoided those areas. Humm why did I go for a massage. At least my friend said the woman was good. BED BUGS!!!!!!! I have been to Eastern Ancient Massage a few times in the last year and loved it. But last week on Friday was definitely my last time going. During my massage, I became really itchy on both my arms but more so on my right arm. When I left the massage I immediately felt like I needed to shower and did because I was having some sort of an irritation on my arms. The next morning when I woke up I had welts all over my arms that appeared to be bug bites. When I googled Eastern Ancient Massage I realized there was already a review for someone who had the exact same experience. When I googled bed bug bites they appeared to be exactly like the bites I have all over my arms. Do not get a massage here unless you want to have painful, itchy, swollen, red bites all over you. read more

I have been a client of Ancient Eastern Massage since they opened. I have had good and poor experiences in the past ;however I kept coming back because the massages were generally good and the price was right. Today, I called in and made an appointment for 4:30pm for a 90-minute massage. From past experiences, I clearly reiterated I wanted a private room which was acknowledged by the man answering the phone. I drove across town for my appointment and upon my arrival there was an argument between one of the workers and the man who took my appointment. It seemed he had awakened the worker who was sleeping on one of the beds and from what I could gather did not want to do the massage. I went back out to the waiting room while their animated "conversation" in their language continued. A short while later I was motioned to come to the back by the man who took the appointment. He motioned me to take the massage bed where the worker had been sleeping in the open area. I reiterated to him that I had requested a private room. He stated a private room was not available for the "type" of foot massage I had booked. I explained I had made it clear when I called in for the appointment I wanted a private room. I further explained I always had a private room for my massages since they had opened for business. He stood and just looked at me. I again asked if he was going to complete my appointment and he stated a private room would not be made available (even though they we're not busy.) When I told him I would be leaving and he was losing a longtime customer, he didn't seem to care and let me walk out. I definitely do not recommend this business any longer. Based on the great reviews I saw here decided to check it out today. First I tried to call and ask about prices and making an appointment but maybe their phone or my phone wasn't working because there was a lot of Hello? Hello? back and forth. Decided then to just come in and sort it out. Asked about just a back massage because my back was killing me and they quoted me $15-20 depending on how long. They then asked if I wanted the combo 30min back 30min feet/leg and thought eh why not. I did have to come back in 45mins though as no one was available. No big deal. Came back and they started on me almost immediately. My feet were put in hot water to clean and soak while I had the most painful face/head massage. Thinking it was just my face, the foot and leg massage also hurt, I asked him to do it softer and it didn't help much. For my back, total opposite! Where was all that pressure that he was just doing on my face and legs? Before he started i did ask if he could focus on where I had the most back pain and even pointed it out but all I got was this super soft arm push and slide on my back. The hot stones were nice and did help knead into my back knots but not much. I was really hoping he could dig into my back and work them all out. It's been 30mins after the massage and I will admit my legs and face/head feel relaxed....but my back is still in pain...it doesn't even seem like he touched it at all. This is a great place for serious-but-cheapo massage. Technicians are well-trained and the futon-type platform one lies on is very comfortable. You might be surprised when they ask you to remove your top, ladies. Nothing shady about it, and you will get a great back massage, but it's not for the timid. I've been there twice and had service from male and female, once in a curtained area and once in the open area. Both were excellent. It's true that they not shy about expecting a tip. I don't sweat little cultural differences, like accents and such. Every massage establishment I know has to train native-born staff not to hover at check-out area lest client gets the wrong (or right) idea about your intention. I say, get over it or go somewhere else and pay an extra $100 for perfect English and Americanized etiquette, if that's your hangup. read more

So let me start off by saying..... If you go to a motel 6, I don't want to see a 2 star review because all they had for breakfast was a bowl of raisin bran and a banana. If you're expect some crazy good amazing service of any kind, stop being a cheapo and go pay for it. With that being said.... I just had a 90 minute massage for $30.00 and it was pretty damn impressive. They definitely worked out some kinks and seemed very knowledgable on how to do it. The gentlemen who massaged me did NOT have any technique skills, it was more like repetition. He was super rough, I had to ask him a few times to take it a notch down. I have been here before and my staff gave me a $20 gift card to use. I asked for the $30 special which includes 30min back and 30min feet. The message itself was ok, don't expect a high end message coming here it's not Kelly'a spa or Glen Ivy. It's like spirit airlines, you get what you pay for. The chair I was in was vinyl and was ripped up and looked like someone had been sitting in it for 10 years.
