Marina management has made it clear to slipholders who has sway here. The last straw for us is no more DIY in the boatyard. From what I hear, 35 other boats at YRYH left as well. If you are a transient coming for a weekend, you will be fine. But if you are looking for a longer term set up, you may want to consider sailing to another destination.

The boatyard is no longer operated by YRYH, it is operated by boaters world and I would steer clear of them as they have built themselves a very poor reputation since taking it over. It's true that the restaurant, YROC, has become a big driver of traffic in the marina and they can be a pain for slip holders but that has been a little better this year as well, if they expand again I'm sure I'll need to change this as it will truly be a restaurant with a marina on property but so far so good. The docks are nice floating docks with plenty of room and well maintained.

Their Forklift puts it in and takes the boat out & hoses it down after use. Then places it on my designated wood rack again. No hassle. Now (June 2019) I'm waiting for my Va, boat registration transfer from N.C. to Va. so I can change the numbers (& state) off the hull and take my new(er) Center Console boat down for the boating season. Back River is a great area to fish, relax and pull up to Factory Point and enjoy family time. I highly recommend Bell Isle. John

When I told the owner that the problem was not fixed, he offered to look at the car personally. I took the risk of moving my already fragile car to meet him at a nearby, pre-discussed location gas station. I live in a property that does not allow unauthorized vehicles. He refused to operate on my vehicle in the location we were at claiming he did not feel comfortable. Unfortunately by that point, my car had already been moved as far as it could go so I could not drive to a new location for him to work on it. He berated me on why I didn't tell him to meet me at my house. He yelled over me as I tried to explain the situation and demanded that this was "his business" and that we would do it "his way". At that point, it no longer was about switching locations. I was now uncomfortable with this grown man yelling at me. He slammed his car door in my face and pulled off in a haste. Please, before you choose to call this business for help, consider that Jay the owner cares more about money than results or humanity. Please be safe out there folks.

There are a couple of beautiful flower gardens, not to mention the marina is nestled in a placid area surrounded by large trees. The entire marina is pristinely manicured. They have a full working service yard and haul out. The ship store is stocked with a wide variety of boater's needs. We are on the great loop and needed a repair to our bow thruster, the marina was happy to work us in even though they were booked through July! So much to do close by, Uber does pick up from here and food can be delivered. If you get the chance this is a great place to stay.

Shortly there after, a young lady showed up and apologized for the guy's "rude" behavior"... Then another man showed up to help us to our campsite... Things took an upturn from there and we ended up having a very pleasant stay. After all this, the campground turned out to be pretty nice and most of the staff were friendly and helpful. Our site was right on the edge of the bay and very roomy. The amenities were fantastic, the camp store was well maintained; the campsite facilities functioned as they should. We would highly recommend this campground to anyone wishing to have an enjoyable weekend. A good place for kids to play and getting plenty of exercise. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone at Gloucester Point in a Travel Trailer.

Out water heater went out and staff came immediately and fixed a part for us!
