Operation day completer they kept him overnight he was a big baby, but everyone loved him and Dr. Steiger said he just had to show him who was boss! Hubby went to pick him up next day and Dr recommended no pain killers as his pain tolerance was high and he didn't want him putting weight on the leg! Bill was around $2,200 which was a little more than the quote but we were okay with it! Follow up and stitches removal was fast and no extra charge! I was here for the visit, instructors were keep come on for 2 weeks more, and just brief walks! He examined the leg which we thought he re injured, but everything was good!! I loved it here so much I got my bischon's immunization done for $90 very happy with service here!

Someone suggested Okotoks vet clinic. I called immediately. Zoe was booked. Everything fel into right place after that. ALL seemed ok. Kim was fantastic over the phone. Staff on the day of the appointment was fabulous ( 30.06.22). All of them were kind, friendly, comforting and very professional. Improper diagnosis, coersive tactics including fear, guilt and bullying, gross exaggeration of the data all in an attempt to scare us into unnecessary treatment for our pet. I am livid at the way Dr Porter at this clinic behaved towards us. Based on her actions we almost had our dog put down. Glad we sniffed her out, followed our gut and got a second opinion. our dog was out at the park chasing birds the day she was supposed to be "put down" and /or recovering from a very expensive "emergency surgery". She is doing amazing and as per the second vet, there is no need for alarmist actions. that was a traumatizing experience for the whole family to say the least.

I made the decision based on knowing my dog and how much pain she was in that she needed to be euthanized. Dr toma had the nerve to refuse to help and then lectured me on how he feels regarding this and that he isn't comfortable with putting her to sleep. When I confronted him that this wasn't an easy decision and he was making this so much harder than it needed to be he said "I could say the same about you making this difficult on me." This is not about you! This is about me knowing my dog. They sent me away with pain meds and I have a dog that can't put any weight on her back leg and can't even move without being lifted. She can't even go to the bathroom without being in pain with the medications they gave us! He has made a horrible situation worse and should never be allowed to practice vet care if he can't do that part of his job. I've never had a vet be so disgusting and callous while trying to blame me for this. Don't bring your pet here. As good as the front desk staff are they do not make up for him.

The staff genuinely cares for our cats and they can pick up on it. One of our cats, Tika, who used to freak out when going to the vet, actually likes going there and seeing the vet and the staff. Last year on Family Day, one of our cats had to be put down due to an illness that could not be treated or cured. Nikita was kept comfortable in every possible way and the staff's compassion was above and beyond anything I have ever experienced before. (We even got a sympathy card in the mail signed by everyone) They let us spend all the time we needed with Nikita beforehand, allowed us to wait a few days to pay as well as kept the carrier for a week, so we didn't have to go home with it so soon. The ceramic paw-print memorials are just beautiful. Thank you, Heartland, for continuing to provide such good care to our cats and us too!

She has had no trouble dealing with him, whereas the other veterinarian we went to was clearly afraid of the dog, even though it wasn't aggressive toward him. When they took my dog off the scale it still read .2lbs as they did not tare the scale properly however I didn't pay it any mind. When I came to pick my dog up they told me that 51lbs-80lbs was the next range of pricing and this was going to cost me $100 more. I explained what happened with the scale earlier and asked to speak to the vet. When the vet came out she told me those are the rules and that she would be more then happy to send my dogs file somewhere else if I didn't like it. Pretty appaulling first impression. She could have easily saved a life long customer by simply verifying my concerns instead she was cold and uncaring. If that's how she treated my partner and I it makes me wonder how she treats the animals. Needless to say we will not be going back. Really poor business practices. Also be kinder.
