EMERGENCY DENTAL SERVICES IS A SCAM!!!…read more I was referred to this office by Emergency Dental Services, which is a total SCAM. At the time I made the appointment, I was charged $25 as a non-refundable fee to confirm an emergency appointment on a Sunday. I went ahead and paid the fee as I was making the appointment for my daughter who was experiencing excruciating tooth pain. However, on the day of the appointment, as we were filling out the online paperwork prior to the appointment, the paperwork indicated that we would be charged an additional $50 for records!! First of all, we were never told that up front. Secondly, this was for an emergency visit, NOT to become a regular patient, so, records should not have been required. (Also, the paperwork was only sent about 30 minutes prior to the appointment even though I had made the appointment the day before). We went into the office to ask about the $50 fee and were told we would NOT BE SEEN unless we paid the $50!!! Needless to say, we walked out. I was not expecting to receive a refund of the $25 fee, as I had been advised of that upfront. However, a couple of days later, while looking at my bank account, this same $25 fee to Emergency Dental Services was listed as a RECURRING payment!!! I immediately called my bank and advised them that this was NOT a recurring payment but only a one time payment. My bank said they could place a STOP payment on that particular merchant for any possible future withdrawals, and they also advised that I should contact the merchant as well. I then called Emergency Dental Services and asked why it had been posted as a RECURRING payment but the person I spoke with seemed totally clueless, said this had never happened before, and assured me that it was only a one time payment. Can you say SKETCHY AF?? I don't believe them for one second, especially after they tried to slip in the $50 fee for records. I am so glad I caught this on my bank statement and was able to place the Stop payment with my bank. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS IF YOU GO THROUGH EMERGENCY DENTAL SERVICES!!!! AVOID EMERGENCY DENTAL SERVICES COMPLETELY!!!!

Let me start by saying that this review has nothing to do with the Doctor that was treating me, my…read moreshort experience with Dr. Fabiola Palacios was amazing, she's very professional and very thorough. She was able to effectively find and treat a problem in one of my molars. My review has more to do with the office policies and the staff. So, I went for my first appointment and I was very happy, then I was referred to an endodontist and he was also very professional. I was scheduled with Gwinnett Family Dentistry (GFD) for a second appointment to finally get a crown in my molar, so they call me (GFD) and schedule my appointment, very nice lady, never mentioned any of their policies regarding changes or cancellations. On a Thursday, i receive a confirmation call from GFD and again, the nice lady never mentioned any of their policies or how long the procedure will take. So I confirm that I'm attending to my appointment, thinking that the procedure will take about an hour like in my first appointment, but what do I know??.. I'm just the patient who's never ever had a crown treatment before. So I call the day of my appointment, which was Monday, around 7:30-ish... I get Ingrid on the phone and I ask her how long is the treatment going to take? and she says "2 hours", and obviously I had no idea of the length because I was never informed. So I panic and I tell her that I can't make it because of work, I didn't know it would take 2 hours, and I have to reschedule..... I understand that I'm calling at the last minute, BUT.. Aren't they (GFD) supposed to inform you of these details before your actual appointment?? Anyways, she tells me there is a cancellation fee, and I tell her that I'm NOT cancelling, I'm rescheduling because I was not informed that the procedure would take that long. So she insists that is the same because is in the same day, less than 48 hours before my appointment. I get very upset, and I tell her that if they charge me a cancellation fee I will go to another dentists, obviously Ingrid doesn't care. She tell me that the administrator will be at their office the next day and she will call me... After a few minutes I call back and ask Ingrid how much the cancellation fee is?.... And her answer????.... " I don't know, the admin will call you tomorrow"... that never happened.... A week after, I receive a bill from them, it's only for $15, the original amount was $50 but after some credit they made I only "have" to pay $15, NOT my point... So my problem is..... Ingrid, works in that office, SHE tells me about the cancellation fee, but she doesn't know the amount.... So, how am I supposed to know about their policies if they never ever EVER mentioned them to me, the policies are not in their website and I was never informed by any of their staff, not when I scheduled my appointment and not when the nice lady called me to confirm my appointment.... But I have to know them????? Can someone please tell me what is the logic here????

They helped me with a deep cleaning and a couple tiny cavities, and were pretty efficient about it, too. My only real complaint is that I feel like they didn't always take my concerns fully serious when I first brought them up. In the end, my teeth were well taken care of, though.

Dr. Hakami is truly one of a kind -- flexible, patient, and extremely attentive. He always takes the time to explain the pros and cons of every treatment option, ensuring I'm fully informed and comfortable before moving forward. The care he provides is thoughtful and precise, and the entire clinic feels like a welcoming family practice. Maria, the patient care coordinator, is an absolute gem. She always goes above and beyond to get me scheduled for the care I need as quickly as possible. She's consistently kind, friendly, and makes navigating treatment plans feel effortless. Their office has the best team, practice, and dental equipment I've ever encountered. Because of this, they can handle most dental issues in-house and always refer to top-tier specialists when needed. I've had over 10 root canals due to failed dental work from the past, and thanks to Dr. Hakami and his recommended endodontist -- the best I've ever worked with -- I've been able to successfully get through a long and complicated treatment plan. They even treated my younger sister, who has severe medical anxiety and hadn't seen a dentist in over 2 years. With their patience and care, she not only felt safe but was able to complete her full treatment plan -- a huge milestone for her and our family. Dr. Hakami's office is always striving to improve, staying up-to-date with the latest tools and practices to give patients the best experience possible. I recommend them to all my friends and family because I know they'll receive exceptional, compassionate care every time.

She looks Hispanic, but she got visibly frustrated but didn't say nothing said oh my God because I couldn't stop moving my tongue while scanning my teeth and don't get me started with the damn scheduling I don't know how is it now, but 5 or 6 years ago the scheduling was so bad. We haven't got a cleaning in two years or no appointment and we just changed bro I'm literally telling you you could literally pass away and they still wouldn't give you a appointment for us. This is crazy. I don't know. How is it now but back then this shit was crazy. But some of staff were nice.

The other reviews mentioning difficult scheduling, terrible patient care and attention, and…read moreconfusing fees are ALL accurate! First of all, their appointment times are a joke. We showed up 5 minutes early to our scheduled time and were not seen for another 30 minutes. The waiting room was crowded, uncomfortable, and noisy so my child became overwhelmed very quickly. We had an attempt at x-rays, our cleaning and exam. The cleaning and exam were rushed and while the x-rays were partial because my child was not cooperating (could've been our 30 minute wait + being new patients there without a full greeting or walkthrough that made him uncomfortable), we did not get a clear treatment plan. The x-rays and exam identified potential cavities and all that I was told was "call back some time later. It might be like $996-$1200 or something but we won't know". I asked as many questions on-site as I could but none of the staff could provide me written documentation, a pricing estimate, or even follow-up notes! It was absurd and they just kept telling me to follow up -- complete disregard for my child's treatment. Fast forward to about 20 calls later for over a month and my child's condition goes unresolved for weeks then it becomes months! We had our appointment in late August and they wanted to schedule the treatment for NOVEMBER. Forget the dates they promised me in September or October. It was an absolute joke of calling them every other day for the numerous "messages we left our scheduler" or "we will definitely contact you" responses. I've heard better responses from spam callers. I have left this practice and found a much more responsive, trustworthy, and honest pediatric dentist. My new dentist is treating my son almost immediately and has been very clear and diligent in their paperwork, billing, and treatment expectations. Unfortunately, becasue we wasted time on Little Pearls around a potential treatment plan there, my child's condition worsened and he has suffered an infection due to Little Pearl's ignorance. Little Pearls was a nightmare that I wish had never happened. Apparently a lot of parents settle for this practice but I expect much clearer communication and care for my young child especially as someone who pays a decent amount for my employer-funded dental insurance. Please do not settle for this place - your children deserve better.
