They kept telling us that our children needed a special toothpaste to remineralize their teeth to avoid cavities, but every 6 months they needed multiple fillings, sometimes multiple sides on a tooth. One child had so many fillings (10-12 teeth) that I finally called to check which teeth had gotten done before. Some teeth had been done more than once, but they told me they were different spots on the same tooth. My youngest was leaving for college last year and yet again they told us he had 3 teeth with cavities, but they could "squeeze" him in right then. That way he could be done before he left for college. We took care of them. Those three teeth were $1042. Fast forward, he returns from college, goes for his cleaning and now he has 3 more teeth with cavities at an estimated cost o $975. He was home for summer, so they scheduled him for a while later. Luckily for us, we moved and found another dentist near our new home. We forwarded his records to the new dentist and scheduled an appointmemt to take care of the 3 teeth that had multiple cavities. My son went to the appointment and came home in less than 30 minutes. The dentist looked at his X-rays, took new ones and said they did not see any cavities! In fact they looked at the cavities that had been filled PREVIOUSLY on the X-rays and said they would not have filled most of them. They showed him and me what to look for on an X-ray, so we could see for ourselves. Going to Restoration Dental cost us thousands of dollars in unnecessary fillings. Nevermind the trauma that my children had to endure with getting shots and further tooth damage for the unnecessary drilling that was done to "clean out" nonexisting cavities. Now my children have the good fortune of looking forwards to possibly having these unnecessary fillings weaken their teeth over time and potentially cause broken teeth, more painful procedures and bigger bills as they get older. I have attached a copy of the last estimate for my son (look how many more teeth they were "watching"). LET ME REPEAT THAT THE NEW DENTIST DID NOT SEE ONE ISSUE THAT WAS ON THE ESTIMATE, AND LOOKED AT HIS PREVIOUSLY FILLED CAVITIES AND SAID THEY WOULD NOT HAVE FILLED MOST OF THEM. If you choose to go to this dentist, don't trust what they say, have them prove it to you. Btw, I noticed there is another review complaining of the same thing. This practice should refund my money and pay me for damaging my children's teeth. I am trying to see where I can legally report them.

I was hesitant to go to any dental office in the midst of COVID-19, but I really needed to put that crown back in (& I wasn't successful on my own). I can say this office gets a BIG GOLD STAR for doing the pandemic response RIGHT. I'm a public health professional, so I know what the Gold standard is. 1) Questioned on the phone re: any COVID-like symptoms. Told to wear a mask. Call from parking lot when I arrive so I won't be entering and in the path of other patients. 2) Doors to the office were wide open - no touching of doorknobs needed, & allows for enhanced air exchange in the office. 3) Sign-in w newly disinfected pen. 4) Temp checked before entering. 5) Staff and Dr Aschendorf properly masked KN95 masks. Room had been sanitized before my arrival. 6) Upon leaving, I was told to wait while other Pt cleared the waiting area. Then out the door. No need to stop at desk to pay - they'll send a bill. I felt that my exposure to others was as minimal as possible. All were wearing masks. And, oh yeah, my crown was quickly replaced, too! Thank you Dr Aschendorf and staff! You're the best!

They were simply efficient, and coordinated. They were 100% ready to perform the services, the xray, the cleaning, everything. No waiting on my part. Through the years I have gotten several fillings, cleanings 3 times a year, and great referrals. In 2025, the dental hygienist suggested that I get a deep cleaning instead of a regular cleaning. I get my teeth clean three times a year for the last 12yrs and have very little plaque. On an X-ray there were circled to small spots that had plaque that they sent to my insurance company that could have easily been taken care of with a regular cleaning. The deep cleaning is more expensive and has over a hundred dollars out-of-pocket cost. I told them I did not want the deep cleaning. After that, the office staff refused to book an appointment for me unless, I got the deep cleaning instead of my usual cleaning. I can afford it, but I don't like dental offices forcing treatment on me because it's more profitable for them.

The doctors were great, and the front office staff was always clear about costs, insurance coverage, and what I was being charged for. I never felt surprised by a bill because everything was explained upfront. Unfortunately, my recent experience after the office moved to Chamblee was very different. I visited on a weekend in January for a deep cleaning and a painful tooth. I was told that my insurance could not be verified on the weekend and that I would need to pay upfront, but that any insurance-covered amount would be refunded after verification. I decided not to proceed with the deep cleaning, but I did see the doctor, received medication for an infection, and paid $141. The front desk informed me that I would receive a refund once my insurance was verified. I followed up two weeks later and was told they were still waiting for verification. It is now June, and I have still not received a refund or a clear explanation of the delay. I understand that insurance issues can take time, but nearly six months without resolution or communication is disappointing. I hope the office can look into this matter and improve communication regarding billing and refunds.

Doctor and Dental Hygienist performed some other type of cleaning procedure which I was not told until checkout. (I did not notice anything different). At checkout, I was told that I had a Co-pay (and it was higher than my regular co-pay) for the procedure that had been done. I told her that procedure did not need to be done. (They did not have my previous x-rays or history and the x-rays they took we're good, no cavities, no bleeding, etc.). They would not adjust the charge at check out. No doctor (dentist, medical, eye, etc.) should perform a procedure without first telling the patient and getting patient approval.

But I'm so disappointed in this experience so I have to share.... I went to this dental practice in March for an evaluation and cleaning. I was told based on X-rays from another practice that I had 3 cavities and needed a crown. I completely trusted the evaluation and scheduled the appointment. Keep in mind, the previous dental office only stated I needed a deep cleaning. I returned for the temporary crown placement...as I have never had a crown, I expected to receive an explanation of what would be happening...I received no explanation and was told by the dental assistance with red locs to stop googling the procedure since it would just scare me...still no information was provided, only endless documents for me to sign releasing the practice from any liability...that should have given me pause but I proceeded. Afterward, I was told I may have minor discomfort but no one told me to take pain meds. The pain after I got home was so intense, I had to find some old pain meds from when I got dental work years ago to allow me to actually function at work. Ibuprofen was not enough! After temporary crown placement, I returned for the permanent crown in 3-4 week, this was the worst dental experience I have ever had! It was sooo painful! When the same dental assistant tried to remove the temporary she simply stated like me try without anesthetic...when I told her it was painful, she responded you didn't even let me try and seemingly had an attitude about it! Dr. Wright came in, provided an injection of anesthetic without even numbing the area. Once the temporary was removed she returned to place the permanent...I wasn't given a warning that it would be painful. It was the most intense pain I have ever experienced...I was only told it was expected when I literally jumped and moaned in pain...wtf! After that was over, I vowed to never return...well that doesn't end it... I continued to have discomfort the weeks following...I called to report it about 2 weeks after and was told to call back in a couple weeks if I continued to have pain...it continued and I decided to see another practice. I was then referred to an endodontist who said I needed a root canal...I've now had 2 root canals on the same tooth and still having issues... The lack of information provided before I received crown placement is my biggest issue...not blaming this dental office for the issue after the crown but at least inform patients of what is going to done and what to expect after is the least that should be provided. Talk to the patient. Also provide adequate pain management for procedures...I still shiver when thinking about when the permanent crown was placed...
