Contents specialists responded rather quickly, but the entire experience with them afterwards was a nightmare. We were out of our home for 10+ months, and had to ask on multiple occasions for a list of items that were deemed total loss so we could ask for reimbursement from our insurance company. We received a list back with only a lampshade deemed as a total loss. I had to actually ask, "how did you possibly clean asbestos and ceiling material out of our mattress?" So then, they added our mattress to the list. We were under the impression just those two items were total losses and everything else could be cleaned. Fast forward to us moving back in last week (October 14). The delivery guys come one day for 4 hours and get some of the furniture moved back in. Then, they inform us that our entire entertainment center hadn't been cleaned and needed to go back for cleaning. They assured me all would be returned next week clean and in tip top shape. They also informed me our couch and box spring was a total loss. I'm not sure why the delivery guys had to let us know that, and why it took 10 months to add our couches to the list of total loss items. We had to call the office and request this update. They then show up this week 3-4 hours late and all of the remaining furniture that wasn't ruined by insulation was broken by them. Our dresser, entertainment center, our headboard, and various other smaller items. See attached photos. Of course, none of our exact furniture is in stock any more so we send over links to similar items purchased at the same store. They proceed to argue with us that the ones we sent over are too expensive and want to compromise. We paid 500+ for our entertainment center and they offered us 149.00. Keep in mind they were supposed to 1. Keep our stuff safe. 2. Deliver it to our home. 3. Provide us with a comprehensive list of damaged items. 4. Put our furniture back together. They did none of that. And are now trying to cheap us out of money. Not taking into account that we will now have to spend additional time and money to shop for new furniture, pay for it out of pocket since we have to move in this weekend, rent a truck to haul the stuff or pay delivery fees, and assemble it ourselves. We now have to miss work to try and furnish our entire home since our temporary lease ends this weekend. So here we are on move-in weekend, no furniture, no reimbursement money from our insurance (because they waited until the last possible second to tell us what was actually damaged), and no money from contents specialists. They are supposedly repairing our dresser and there is no expected return date we are aware of. Still no word on when and if we can expect a check for our other items. I am so disappointed in this experience and can't help but feel like we were treated like garbage during a time when we were displaced from our home overnight with no belongings. They took all of our money and have not been prompt regarding a response to our rightful reimbursement. I hope nobody experiences the loss of access to a home, but if you do, you would be better storing your shit in someone's garage.

Empire sent two guys who dove right in, cleared out the entire mess in less than an hour! They were cheerful, pleasant, and even offered to help with any other heavy lifting I might need done, at no additional charge! I had obtained three different bids, and Empire was not the lowest. But when I asked if they could match the lowest one, they did so, cheerfully! I will have more hauling to do this spring, and I'll be calling Empire to do it. If this work ethic is how Empire does business, I can't recommend them enough. (I've already referred three other neighbors to them!)

He ensured us it would be no issue since he'd be at our current home between 11am - 1pm. We figured it would work out just fine and he sounded genuine. Fast forward to moving day. We had spent tons of labor boxing, throwing away and cleaning our current home. 11am rolls around and we are excited to get into our awesome new place and have a fun night of decorating and getting everything looking nice. We hear he should be done with his morning job around 12pm and be on his way here shortly after. It's a few minutes to 1pm so we decide to send a polite text to check his ETA. He's still stringing us along saying he's almost done and still at the job. But he's in Lynwood (we are located in Renton) and rush hour is nearing. We figured maybe he could be here at 2 - 2:15 but that's the latest we could handle so we patiently waited. 1:45 comes around and he's still handling the first job with no clear end in sight. At this point we just cancel and catch a snarky attitude for being impatient when they were on course to be at our home at 3:30pm or later. From there they would have loaded by 5pm and been on the road right in the heart of rush hour. Maybe we get to the new apartment by 6pm. We would have no reserved elevator and everyone is coming home at that time so every piece of furniture carries the additional cost of waiting for the elevator to come down and our easy move doubles the hourly allotment it should take. Morale of the story, you get what you pay for. I've now lost faith in movers and am going to move everything myself because at least I know I can count on myself. To the owner, quit letting dollar signs cloud your judgement over customer service. The latter is what leads to longevity in a business.
