They moved in a neighbor and hit my basketball hoop and damaged my gate. One of the crew claimed he wasn't driving; but, relented and promised to fix it before they left. The other claimed it was my fault for having the hoop in the way. There is plenty of room and they did not have to park that close. They left without a word and gate won't close. I would not entrust moving with anyone with this lack of care and responsibility. read more

Flawlessly executed! Fantastic communication every step of the way! CJ, Kendall and a friendly new mover (3 guys) showed up today at 8:45 a.m. - providing texts on ETA and 5 minutes out. They were professional, efficient, speedy, courteous and handled the belongings with care. They had to deal with 2 sets of steep stairs in a narrow townhouse and did it with ease (at least that is the way it looked to me). The move did not include packing so I cannot speak to those particulars. You will pay for travel time from their warehouse to your location. This is fairly standard with a local move. Mostly, I loved how easy and professional they made the process from the initial quote to the bill of lading - all emailed with clear easy documentation. They provided several pre-move reminders as well. Do yourself a favor and take the stress and headache out of moving by hiring these guys!!! read more

Taking off one star bc our new home got a few wall scrapes and the storage drawer on our bed was damaged. And while the movers worked hard, they ripped the plastic cover on our mattress (those things are a pain and hard to handle) and got our dust mite cover dirty underneath along with a few dirty hand prints on our white furniture. Not the end of the world and little things like this are bound to happen but not looking forward to fixing that drawer. Still, overall really good experience and I'd recommend them. read more

I hired these guys to load a container for long-distance shipping. Expensive and demanding of gratuities in a shockingly entitled way. They'd had a tough morning before getting to me, but like petulant teens they took it out on me. Unprofessional, rude, impatient, very hostile, with glares and verbal aggression, and treated me like their concerns should be top of my list. It was a truly sad, pathetic performance by immature and incompetent workers: crushed boxes on arrival, they refused to incorporate the differences in packing my freight-forwarder had suggested for packing oceangoing containers, and I believe they stole two plastic clamshell containers of my tools. When asked for a customer service reply, there was zero communication! Unbelievable in every way, and they made a stressful day into a nightmare. Avoid at all costs, unless you are truly looking for an adventure in primitive human behavior. read more

We had a very specific job we needed help with: moving several very heavy window air conditioners into their respective windows (and window brackets) for the summer. Too heavy for us to do at our age! After calling several local handyman services without any luck, we called Adam's; besides their normal moving services, they offer Moving Labor Services, for moving things into, or within, your house (i.e., when you don't need a truck to move things between houses.) I provide Adam's with information about what needed to be moved and when, they gave me a quote, which was quite reasonable. 2 days later, they sent 2 movers over, Matthew and Caleb -- they were great! Very nice and helpful guys, and they got the air conditioners firmly positioned in the windows carefully and quickly. We plan to use Adam's again this autumn, to take the air conditioners out of the window; as well as for future summers and autumns. read more

My husband and I contracted Adam's Movers to move furnishings from our (just sold) house to our new residence -- an apartment on the third floor of a building with no elevator! Three gentlemen, named Vlad, Ben and Damian took the greatest care at both ends of the move. They lugged a heavy sofa, two large filled planters, and 16 boxes of records and books, plus some unwieldy over-sized artwork. We had a ton of misc. stuff to move, from small boxes to heavy mattresses on the 2nd floor. Garden tools to chop saws and TV's to fragile lamps. This was just from the house we had just sold. Then we traveled to our soon to be ex-smaller storage unit. Picked up more boxes and household items before heading to a larger unit at a different sight. Frankly, I didn't think it would fit, but they quickly proved me wrong. Four personable guys that worked as a well oiled machine, it took less than four hours. I checked with friends as to who they had used and what it coast them. I even checked with the company who hauled our junk away. He highly recommended Adam's Moving & Delivery. The final bill was 25 to 30% less than all my friends had paid and had less items to move. Moving sucks, they made moving my stuff next to painless, and they showed up early! read more

Adam's Movers are very slow. They circle the house several times and do multiple walk throughs and then each mover asks you several more times what you want moved. The rates seem reasonable but the job will take 2x as long as it should. The movers don't seem to talk or coordinate with each other and definitely don't hustle. They seem to wander from room to room and text in the truck quite a bit. The crew also seems not competent at packing heavy dressers or other items of furniture. They don't take out the drawers and don't know how to disassemble simple metal frames. I had to help put a metal bed frame back together because the crew couldn't figure it out. They also charge the same hourly rate for just traveling, which other companies would just charge you their mileage. You will also have to expressly ask for extra coverage, otherwise they'll track dirt all over your floors. The owner basically just said, "well at least nothing really got damaged" when I expressed my frustration with the process. All in all I would not use this company again, but I guess at least they didn't break anything valuable? (Because all the valuables I transported myself)! read more

I want to preface this review by saying my move took place last year, but I didn't leave a review at the time due to having what I thought was a generally positive experience. Recently, I noticed a damaged piece of furniture that prompted me to write this. Review is for a full service pack and move. The quote, booking, and scheduling were all relatively easy. Price was fair and everything was done in a timely manner. The crew was also very friendly and professional. Two dings with my experience. I didn't bother writing about these at the time because the rest was overall good. 1. Some of the packing was a bit haphazard. Just items tossed in a box without much care and poor labeling. This seemed to vary by each crew member as some was immaculate. That said, I didn't notice anything in the boxes damaged. 1. When the move was finished, I was informed that "a few" items wouldn't fit in the truck and if it would be okay if I got those myself. I asked if the items would easily fit in a single load in my SUV and was told yes. Upon returning to my old home, it was not just a few items. It took two full loads and even included paintings still on the wall that barely fit. Admittedly, my place was in a bit of disarray at the time of the move, but "a few" seemed a bit off the mark. Generally, though, I would have still easily recommended this service as the rest of the experience was so good...and I did. Now the reason for the review after basically a year has passed. Upon unloading, I noticed my media console was a little wonky. One of the doors wouldn't fully close. I figured it was just a bent hinge or something. The moving crew even acknowledged it and tried to fix, but it was getting late and we just gave up. I was eventually able to get it in working order. Over time, I noticed it getting worse. Then I got a new TV and everything was out of line. Upon detailed inspection, I noticed the center support on the bottom of the console was completely broken off and missing. I did not have issues prior to the move, and even looked at old photos confirming the center piece was intact. I reached out with photos, but it was after the 9 month window to make a claim. In most situations, this would definitely be enough time to notice damage, but being that the only way I could see this was being on the ground and looking underneath the console, it's just not something you would visually notice. I can certainly respect the 9 month window, but am very disappointed with the dishonesty. I paid for the full replacement insurance and would have made a claim in a timely manner if I were just told about the incident. I was offered $60 as a "good faith" gesture, but the media console is solid wood and cost nearly $2500 back in 2011. I fully understand that they are not responsible in providing anything, but it doesn't really put it dent in what it will cost to replace this piece with comparable build quality and functionality. Again, I understand the time window in most circumstances. A year is a long time to notice this, but as I previously described, it would be difficult to identify in real time without getting under. I'm just really upset that it appears somebody tried to cover this up at the time of the move. It is certainly possible that this would have been broken and gone unnoticed, but the wood from the center support was large enough that I find it unlikely nobody would have seen or heard it break off. I probably wouldn't use them again after these new findings, but you might be fine if you really inspect every article moved. read more

I contacted Adam's while on the east coast during the holidays for a very last minute move as soon as I got back into town, and I got a prompt response the day after Xmas with very easy/friendly communication to get scheduled. Because my move was so last minute and I had been out of town the entire week before, I was embarrassingly disorganized. I had nothing packed. The Adam's team was not fazed at all, and so polite and patient. On top of everything else, the apartment I was moving out of is really difficult to access. You can't get a truck all the way up the driveway. So, they really had their work cut out for them all the way around, and were still so nice to me and did a great job. Everything was packed well - or at least everything I've unpacked so far, haha - and most boxes were clearly labeled and placed in the appropriate room in the new spot. The Adam's team was great to work with and worth every dime for the professionalism, flexibility, and consideration I received, particularly given the limited time frame and less than ideal logistics they were handed. I really hope I won't need to move again anytime soon, but they would be the ones I call, 100%. Highly recommend.
