I used these guys based on friends and Yelp recommendations. They could not have been more wrong. I don't know whether is was the team I got on the day, but it was an awful - and expensive- experience. I was moving contents of my 3br, but not furniture - most of it was staying to be staging while I sold the property. Everything else was packed into cardboard or plastic (moving) boxes, with the exception of some art (framed) and a tv. 1. They quoted me around $600, with $40 on top for insurance. On the day, the team lead said that didn't exist, and if I wanted insurance I had to fill out paperwork and it cost $450. The time spent filling out the paperwork counted to the time they charged for - $255/ hour or ~$64/15 mins. 2. There were three of them, all in their early 20's. Age shouldn't be a factor, but given that they didn't know how to do things like take the door off a fridge, multi-task (eg take two boxes at a time instead of two trips), and didn't have any tools (no tape measure! no screw driver!), they were clearly inexperienced and unfit for the job. The majority of the time one was going round with a clipboard noting any marks on walls etc (as a record of pre-existing things), so it basically meant only 2 did any actual moving. 3. The only piece of furniture I wanted moved was a fridge: taking the one from my old place to my new one. They weren't able to move it down the stairs. They couldn't figure out how to take the door off (particularly the door with the water and ice dispenser), which should be movers skill 101. They kept calling people for advice, googling etc, and telling me there was no way this fridge had come up the stairs - that the place must have been built around it. I'd seen the fridge be moved in a few years ago (replacing another, bigger fridge), all via the stairs and front door. It's fair to say they wasted over an hour on this...at $255 per. 4. They bitched constantly about the plastic moving boxes I'd rented. That these were more difficult for them, and so they couldn't use the trolly and take multiple boxes etc. 5. Anytime they had a question, all three of them had to come together and stop and talk it out. At 5-10 minute increments throughout the day, that added up to easily an hour of wasted time. 6. The office had guessed 4 hours max for moving those contents and the fridge to the new place, It took over 8 hours. When i did a similar move but with friends (paying in pizza and beer) it took just under 4 hours - and that included renting the truck. 7. At the end they had me sign the paperwork etc. And then STOOD over me - literally, physically standing 3 inches away from me - DEMANDING a tip. As a single woman, this was terrifying: they knew my old and current address, and the way around my home. I gave them all the cash I had which was a couple of hundred - I didn't feel I had any choice. They weren't happy about it but eventually left. (note: this isn't about whether they earned a tip or how much I wanted to tip it not - it's about menacing someone for it) When my first house sold and I needed to move the furniture (and some odds and ends of decor), I hired acquaintances of friends. Not only was it considerably cheaper (it took 4 hours total - no problem with fridge doors etc), but it was efficient, and they were honest. They listened to what was needed and did it. No stopping and standing around talking when they had a question, I know movers are hit and miss in this country, You'd think that a local company would have a better chance of being decent - they're part of the community, too. But this experience was just awful. Moving home is stressful in the best of times. Do yourself a favor and don't make it worse by hiring this company. read more

I'm not a Yelper and this is my first review ever on the site, but since Yelp helped me find Adam's Moving, well, here I am. Plus, I loved Adam's and would recommend them to everyone I know. Truly. After I landed a new apartment a few weeks ago, I couldn't decide what was worse: the idea of corralling all my friends into an all-day moving affair or paying who-knows-how-much for movers. I decided to take the plunge with movers, and picked Adam's after reading all the positive reviews on Yelp and looking at his Web site, which clearly states prices, etc. I emailed Adam, and he responded later that day. We went back and forth on the amount of stuff to be moved for a 1-bedroom to another 1-bedroom. He gave me an estimate of $350 for two guys with a truck, and confirmed a Saturday appointment. His guys arrived exactly at 9 a.m. with furniture pads, straps for a heavy bookcase and a dolly truck. They got to work immediately carrying boxes to the truck, thanking me for being packed up. (I read moving web sites that said get everything you can into a box to speed things along.) They finished loading in, *gasp*, 45 minutes. At my new place, they were super careful with furniture around tight corners, asked me exactly where I wanted every piece of furniture and even plugged in my TV. I had some water and Gatorade on hand, and they were super polite and respectful the whole time, even noticing fresh grass clippings and looking around for a broom so they wouldn't track the grass into my new place. Oh, and they were done by 11:15 a.m., unloading everything in an hour. With travel time to and from wherever they keep their truck, my total for three hours of their time was $270. Yeah, you read that right. It was under the estimate, even with tip. Honestly, I can't recommend these guys more. If you're wondering if you should get movers, do it. Spare your friends and go with Adam's. read more

This was my first time using a moving company, and I believe this was the best possible service I could've ever received. We moved from Beacon Hill, Seattle into Downtown Bremerton - a full house with endless boxes and several pieces of furniture. Joe, Brian, and Anthony were absolute legends! An excellent team that were incredibly kind, respectful, and super considerate with our things. I was beyond impressed with Joe's can-do attitude, Brian's Hercules strength, and Anthony's clever wit that never seemed to end for the whole entire, incredibly long day. An epic moment that is absolutely worth mentioning is when they moved our couch, which is a modern mid-century piece that was essentially too big for the house. It was our dream to put it downstairs into our Tudor-styled home, but there were a lot of twists and turns necessary in order to get there. They tried it once, and couldn't get it to fit through. To make it work, we decided to take down a quick, lattice outdoor wall preventing the couch from making it into the house. The team was more than game to giving it a take two, in which they had to reach it well above their heads to fit into the hole we created in the outdoor wall and then immediately pivot it down the steep stairs to get it into our basement. The whole thing was jaw-dropping, to say the least. It was difficult not to be overwhelmed with gratitude and appreciation for all of their crazy hard work and the amazing job they did. I absolutely cried about it as soon as they left. #emotional Throughout the process, my guy and I were just about no help as possible, as we were both already exhausted from all the packing, and both suffer from chronic health ailments that prevent us from doing any kind of work like this for more than a moment. We truly could not have done this without Joe, Brian, and Anthony. They truly made all the difference! read more

WOW...We had a great experience with Adam's Moving and Delivery Service. We encountered a last minute change in moving plans and really needed a local mover soon. I called Adam on a Sunday and asked for movers as soon as possible. He set up a truck and three men for the next day and indicated they would contact us by cell phone and would be there between 1:00 and 3:00. We received a call about 12:30 indicating they would be there about 1:00. They arrived about 1:15 and after a short tour of the house and an explanation of what boxes and furniture was to be moved they took off at a fevered pace. They carefully loaded couches, chairs, lamps, boxes, a mattress and other assorted items in quick order. It was clear there was a method to the packing involving location in the truck, pads, straps, etc. They were loaded in a fraction of the time we had hoped for. A short trip to a nearby storage facility to empty a unit there went even more quickly. Next, we headed to the drop off condo and the truck arrived at the same time we did. They set up the ramp, got out the hand carts and smoothly unloaded. As each item came off the truck we indicated lower level, first floor or second floor and each item went into place. Large furniture pieces went up stairs and around corners without a hitch. After items were dropped off they seemed to be in a hurry to get back to the truck for another load. We offered them bottled water but they didn't stop to drink until the job was done. Their positive attitude, energy and efficiency took the stress out of a possibly stressful situation for us. 5 Stars all the way! Adam's Moving wasn't the first movers I called, but they should have been! After I was No-Showed on moving day by a well known moving company I was left in quite a bind. This was my first time hiring movers and I had heard all the horror stories about moving companies. Needless to say, I was skeptical when I called Adam's Moving. I spoke to Adam who was amazing. Polite, understanding, and super effcient. I told him my story and he said the words that everyone who is stressed out about a situation likes to hear "Don't worry, we'll handle it." And he meant it! And him and his team handled it well! On moving day, I got a call from my movers (Devin & Robert) to let me know that they are on their way and to confirm the address once more. They showed up on time, and were ready to go. Talk about fast, my intention was to help but these guys had a system, I had to stop "helping" because it was obvious that I was slowing them down!! Less than 90 minutes they had all of my items dismantled, loaded in the truck and on the road (that included my king size bed and another loft bed)! Devin and Robert were great guys who knew the meaning of customer service. They were attentive, courteous, and over all extremely helpful. These guys were organized and hardworking, and dedicated to get the job done. As a single parent I don't have time to manage every bit of any process, Adam's moving made sure I didn't have to. I've moved many times with the help of moving companies over the years and I've NEVER enjoyed the experience. Past movers have under-estimated the time to win our business and then wound up charging us significantly more than I expected, dropped items, put dings in my walls, and broke furniture. We just hired Adam's Moving Service to help us move our business office to our basement office in our home. I could not have been happier with this experience. These guys so far exceeded my expectations, it's hard to know where to begin. Let's start with how courteous, fast, and efficient they were. Four men showed up and worked so quickly that they completed the move one hour SOONER than their estimate. They navigated a stairwell carefully without damaging anything. They snaked large desks and file cabinets around corners, disassembled and reassembled a large conference table, and carried box after box into the right office (we had labelled them all so they would know where to take them). They cheerfully and carefully moved my upright piano from one room to another. They happily figured out how to get a sofa from the downstairs basement to the upstairs family room. And what finally sealed the whole deal for me was this incident: We had a futon frame and mattress that we wanted to take to Goodwill. I asked them toward the end of the move, "Any chance you guys could drop this futon at Goodwill?" Believe it or not, they loaded up the futon and frame and dropped it at Goodwill on their way back to their office. Holey Moley! That's great service. read more

My move should have been the most organized and easiest these guys have likely ever came across. It was estimated it would take 3 to 4 hours, but I had prepared by moving all but the larger furniture myself, earlier in the week. I forecasted NO more than three hours tops. They did arrive right on time, which was reassuring and appreciative. But when I asked if they were bringing blankets up to pre-wrap my furniture, they claimed they wrapped stuff once it was inside the truck - this blew my mind and I notified them I wanted delicate things wrapped in my apartment, as wrapping is part of ensuring you don't ding it on the way down to the truck. This just seemed like common sense to me, but I guess not because only one thing ended up wrapped, and it's because I made a stink about it. It took just under two hours to load the truck with the less than 15 furniture items I needed moving. This included me personally carrying a number of things out because there just was not enough hustle. Upon arriving to the new destination, it ended up taking an equal amount of time to unload, which should never be the case. Overall I felt as though they quoted me up to four hours and they were going to take that four hours up in any way, by talking, moving slow and just not offering overall good moving service. $800 + $60 in tips (because I didn't feel right not tipping), this experience ended up a small fortune and left me with an extremely bad taste in my mouth. We've worked with Adam's Moving Service twice (a total of five different workers, all of whom were great), and I can confidently say that we have found the moving company we will stick with. They have definitely earned a five-star review. During our first ever move, our movers (a company from a different state) were so bad, so we had a reference point for what a terrible moving process was like. This made us nervous to hire movers again. However, there turned out to be nothing to worry about because the team at Adam's Moving Service was amazing. Their communication was transparent, as were their payment processes. I felt that Adam's Moving Service was worth every cent I paid. They took care of all of our items, were polite and kind, and moved everything in a timely manner. I also appreciated that I was able to communicate with them via email, as it helped me keep track of our communication and agreements. (The terrible moving company we used previously would only communicate over the phone, which led to miscommunications and made it difficult for me to keep track of everything). I was also very glad/relieved to see that Adam's Moving Service utilizes an extensive inventory process before the move. I think this really helped to ensure that the movers were adequately prepared to move our specific items, and that no one was surprised on moving day. I'm so glad to have a moving company I can trust so I can be done with the stressful process of moving and get on with the rest of my life! read more

Adam's Moving & Delivery Service is Excellent. When I called and they quoted the move, they were very confident about their pricing, how long it would take given what I stated I had to have moved. Very much a no-fuss order. On the day of the move (3/5/14), due to traffic, there was a 15 minute delay, but I got a call, well in advance that they would be 15 minutes late (and I verified that traffic was extra difficult that morning). When Kevin and Devin arrived, they were professional and considerate. They gave me confidence they could move any of the items we needed moved; they made suggestions which helped speed things up; although we weren't moving everything that day, they didn't try to pressure us into more work; nor did they try to extend out the job; When I offered them time to take a 15 minute break, they said they just don't do that ... they work to get the job done. Also of good note, they were interested in how long the job was quoted as they wanted to beat the estimate. I said I couldn't really say in that I just threw out an idea of things I had - any estimate wouldn't have been very realistic - but they were eager to take on that challenge. They were expedient but also very careful - having to move bulky items around an aquarium near the front door - no problems. Nothing broken in the move; everything very organized; couple special requests on how to do the move... They did a great job! If I ever have to move again, I'm calling Adam's Moving & Delivery service! read more

We used Adam's Moving to move us from Seattle to Burien and could not be happier with the experience. First, they are extremely responsive via email and I usually got a reply within minutes, 7 days a week. They answered every question I asked honestly and offered suggestions if they were not able to accommodate the request. Note they take cc for payment and do *not* charge an extra fee for the convenience. For the move itself, they provided a 15 minute window of when they would arrive and let me know when they were on their way. They showed up on time, with 3 movers and a truck. Brian, Mike S and Freddy got right to work. All three of the guys were friendly, focused and efficient. They had runners they put down so they wouldn't muck up the floors and were prepared to move a mirror and the glass panels from a desk unit (and nothing broke). They even took the trouble to remove the light bulbs from our lamps. Once we got to the new place, they even helped arrange the furniture in the living room so we had a place to sit for the evening. I have used the "hire a couple guys" type service in the past, where we rented the truck and they loaded it. In that case, you usually get a couple of young folks who are strong, but pretty much shove and man handle your stuff around. Now that I have had professionals who think about what they are doing and use their brains as much as their brawn, I will never go back. I have moved numerous times in my life...and it is one of the worst things in the world to move. That being said...this move was the best of my life. I decided to hire Adam's moving company (as well as Adam's moving boxes) and was completely impressed with every aspect of the company. The movers were on time, courteous, professional, and even took a few moments to smile/play/chat with my three month old. My wife and I had to rush off to sign papers for our new house and left the movers there to do the job. Not only did they have the truck packed before we returned they even packed a few boxes for us as we did not have a chance to pack them ourselves. Let me say that they were beyond hard working! I was amazed at how quickly they packed the truck! All of my stuff (and I have A LOT!) arrived safely at my new home. The team of movers worked tirelessly to unpack the truck and put all of my furniture in the correct place. To top it all off they did it in 85 degree heat! I would HIGHLY recommend ADAM'S MOVING COMPANY to anyone that is looking to move. Stop asking your friends to help you move and let the professionals do it for you! Save your friendships people! To top it off, Adam personally dropped off the moving boxes. He is one hell of a guy!! Not only is his company fantastic but he is incredible. I've never been in a position to utilize a moving service before, but a close friend told me "if you ever need movers, only call Adam's Moving Service." So, I did! And I have to admit, I was absolutely blown away by how friendly, helpful, and transparent the whole process was from start to finish. After getting everything setup via email, the day of the move came around, and Alex and Royce were amazing! Not only were they friendly and helpful as they walked me through the process, but they were incredibly efficient, meticulous, and had a solution for every unique wrinkle in the move. They knew how best to load things in, they helped safely pack smaller things into wardrobe boxes, and they unloaded things at my new apartment with an excellent strategy and expert execution. As they started loading up their truck, Alex told me I could just sit back and it wouldn't be long. Initially, it felt a little bit odd to be sitting back when there's work to be done. But seeing how smoothly everything was going and how in control of the situation Alex and Royce both were, I was able to take his advice! I sat back and chatted with the friend who recommended them, and it was the easiest move ever. I mentioned to Alex and Royce that I'd never had the assistance of a moving service before and couldn't really imagine what it would be like. If I could 0 I would! I would to like to tell the other side of Michael B's BS story! I think Michael B might have forgot to say that the individuals that use to work for Adams moving where not the initital party asking you to move your illegally parked truck, it was the moving cordinator at the apartment. When one of you began standing over this 5ft nothing woman and screaming at her and threatening her, yes individuals from Adams got involved. As I beleive they should have. Your party yelled obsenities and treatening statements that where just as inappropriate as the unfortunate F@# word. Your party did call the police after you moved your illegally parked vehicle, and what did the police do. They spoke to both parties and one of the individuals in your party even said to the cops, they didn't know we were Gay! The Cops told Adams crew that if you wouldn't move when they were loaded and ready to go, to call them and they would return to ask you to do so! For you to make a ridiculous blanket statemnt that these individuals or the comapany are biggots is just plain silly. The things you said and treatened were equally upsetting. You think it is ok to stand over a woman and yell at her as one of you did? You ruined peoples lives with your exageratted lies! people lost jobs because of your threats and half told story! Karma is real and will get you and Adams for all of this! read more
