I paid a $30 booking fee online four days before my move 17 miles away inside of Seattle. You could not ask for a smoother move (no, this is not a commercial for a laxative). Two hours from start to finish. They (two men) moved all my stuff from a bedroom to my new studio apartment in under the three hour minimum--but that's okay. With the truck rental it was $437 total. These guys--the do not milk the clock. They move with speed, putting everything in these huge 60" x 24" boxes, except for the furniture. EVERYTHING gets wrapped like a palette 360 degrees around. I just stayed out of their way, and within one hour they had everything loaded up. They brought a 24' truck, which was bigger than I expected. The drive was 30 minutes to my new place and unloading took about 45 minutes. They had me sign a standard moving contract, and I absolutely appreciate the 10% military discount, and another 3% for paying cash. FANTASTIC, could not say one thing bad. Nearly $1,000 for an Incomplete Move, Property Damage, and Unacceptable Service My experience with Man with a Truck Moving was extremely disappointing and stressful. I paid approximately $984 in cash for a three-person moving team, originally scheduled for four hours with an additional hour added. Despite paying nearly $1,000, the move was left significantly incomplete. Before the move, I explained that I am disabled, my adult daughter is disabled, and we have a two-year-old child. I specifically hired professional movers to handle the heavy items we could not safely move ourselves, including our couch, dining table and chairs, living-room chairs, curio cabinet, grandfather clock without its weights, freezer, two queen-size beds, king-size mattress, storage dressers, patio furniture, and numerous boxes containing fragile belongings. We packed to the best of our ability. Fragile boxes were clearly marked "FRAGILE," while heavy boxes were labeled "50+ POUNDS" with arrows showing which side should remain upright. Although the movers transported many boxes, they left a substantial amount behind. They initially attempted to leave the couch, freezer, curio cabinet, and grandfather clock--the primary heavy items I had hired them to move. I had to insist that these items be taken. The tallest mover behaved carelessly around my family. He repeatedly bumped my 24-year-old disabled daughter with boxes as she tried to move out of his way. While using a dolly, he nearly struck my two-year-old grandchild three separate times instead of stopping or moving over in the hallway. I finally had to firmly tell him to be careful and not run into her. This was frightening and completely unacceptable. That same mover also caused a hole approximately one to one-and-a-half inches wide in the apartment wall. I sent pictures and requested that the company at least pay for the damage, but it has not been resolved. The on-site job manager spent most of the time outside loading the truck, so he did not properly supervise what was happening inside. His communication and coordination could have been much better. I do want to acknowledge that the third mover--the shorter, stockier gentleman--was polite, kind, attentive, and helpful. Unfortunately, his professionalism could not make up for the overall experience. The company also brought approximately 10-15 large, empty wardrobe boxes even though I had clearly said we did not need them. During the additional hour I paid for, valuable time was spent reloading their unused boxes instead of finishing my move. Those boxes should never have been brought after I specifically declined them, and dealing with them should not have taken away from the time I was paying for. By the time the movers left, there was still a large amount of property remaining, including the metal patio table and chairs on my balcony. The apartment was still a mess, and I had to rent a U-Haul to finish transporting everything myself. As someone with limited financial resources and physical disabilities, this created an enormous additional burden. I contacted a person named Rob, whom I understood to be management. He listened to my concerns and said he would rectify the situation by sending movers back. I explained that we had only five days remaining to empty and clean the apartment. He never followed through or contacted me again. By the third day, with no response and time running out, I told him not to send anyone because I could no longer rely on the company. I contacted him again about repairing the hole in the wall. He claimed he had not received the photographs, even though they had been sent. Nearly three weeks later, I have received no meaningful follow-up or resolution. I have photographs documenting the condition of the apartment, the large amount left behind, and the wall damage. This was not the level of service anyone should receive after paying nearly $1,000 in cash. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Man with a Truck Moving. Their claimed years of experience were not reflected in the quality, care, communication, or completeness of the service I received. I also had no idea that they offered senior pricing. The man that hit my daughter with boxes and that almost ran into my Grandchild was caught numerous times on his phone. am labeling this as overpriced based off of the service that I received. I shared the hole in the wall, 2 of the messages....I am not looking anymore for pictures. This was a traumatic experience and after this review I know that I wont hear from them in regards to any of this. read more

The price was double the estimate given by the company. The cost rose due to being charged in 15 minutes increments after the 3 hour minimum & X 4 guys. I also tipped them $50. to each worker. They didn't put the bedrail back on the bed. They took it off to move the bed but now I am without it. My mattress keeps sliding off the edge. I am in the process of moving from Seattle to New Hampshire following a divorce and really needed help. The two helpers were small of stature and very young. They may have been very new. Here were the issues: 1. They did not use moving straps. They were ill prepared to move heavy equipment. 2. Not everything was strapped down. I had to climb in, check every and re-strap mulitple items, including a Celtic harp that would have gone flying had it not been strapped down. 3. They could not move our couch (which has been moved multiple time without issue by others) and had to remove the patio door that was not put back on before they left. They removed it. 4. They finished early. 5. They wanted to charge $160 extra for the weight of the coach, which they dropped when I said I would leave an honest review. 6. We booked a move for the a couple weeks ago all seemed fine. While we were putting stuff away and then wanting to start hanging stuff we realized our basket of tools was missing. I called and told them that they were missing, they said they would investigate and get back to me. I waited 3 days and decided to call them back. They told me they "looked" everywhere. No someone stole them and you should be asking those 3 men who did the move where they are. A basket with a drill, drill bits, and other tools don't just go missing. My husband and I had a very positive experience with Man With A Truck Moving for our Seattle-LA move. We got quotes from several other top rated movers, but felt we were overquoted for the volume of our goods and might be subject to estimate increases. We chose MWAT because they offered a competitive flat rate and a dedicated truck and would arrive faster than the competition. Given the competitive rate and included services we were worried MWAT might be too good to be true, but it turns out they were great. Russ was our foreman for the move and he was easy to get in touch and communicate with. He arrived within the expected time windows, managed the helpers well, and got the loading and unloading done faster than we expected. He even went above and beyond to help us with some specific requests for my pottery wheel which was very heavy and crated. This doesn't detract from our high rating, but a few details for those considering MWAT: - MWAT wrapped and handled our stuff with care, but in some cases seemed to take shortcuts to move more quickly. For example, they did not disassemble our standing desk or bed frame, even when suggested by us. They assured us they transported these items intact all the time disassembly was unnecessary. The items did arrive in good condition, and I got the impression they would have disassembled the items if we insisted, but it's worth noting that they optimized for efficiency over delicate care. - There were some minor bumps and scratches caused by the moving when they arrived at our new apartment, which they attempted to address. There were a few details like not using floor coverings that would have given us a bit more peace of mind in a new rental. - A few days before our move, we did receive a call asking whether we would consider adjusting our move date to better accommodate another interstate move they were scheduling. This was alarming at first, as it made us worried that MWAT might just change our move date last minute when we had a firm move out schedule with our landlords. However after we expressed our concern, they reassured us the original scheduled move date would be honored, and sure enough everything went according to plan.
