Hanging out at Eastvale's 2019 Picnic in the Park

Every year we look forward to the annual picnic in the park. And every year it gets bigger and bigger! This year I was very surprised and in a way relieved to see an actual sheriffs tower right in the middle of the carnival. But, unfortunately that tower didn't do any good during the fireworks show because a massive fight broke out, not once but three times. Resulting in an extreme panic in both adults and children on the back side of the carnival. We did not see the police respond until the lights came back on. Can you imagine being in the dark, holding your child and seeing a crowd of scared teenagers and adults running towards you! Up until then, everything was GREAT! We enjoyed all of the rides and games provided by the Christianson Carnival Company. There were plenty of product and food vendors to keep your belly full and your pockets empty! (In a good way of course) This was a perfect family Picnic in the Park! It was very unfortunate that the night had to end that way. And I am hoping that for future events this type of chaos can be avoided. It is very disheartening to go to a family friendly event and have to worry about yours and your child's safety to such an extreme.

Nice new community park on the corner of Hamner and Citrus. Hours are from 6:30am-10pm, and the entrance is on citrus. Nice walking/running path around park, however currently only a horseshoe shape. I assume it is because the park still appears to be under construction. Looks to be soccer fields mainly from the soccer goal posts laying around and the positioning of the flood lights. Plenty of parking!!! Can't wait to see what the final product looks like.

This field is beautiful. There are two downsides the parking, and the mosquitoes. Come prepared with bug spray and your patience. Remember not to rush children are at play

Clean. Open fields of green. Not that much shade. Nice dog and walking trail. Rabbits roam free at night.

    Sunset during soccer season!

There's a little lake that has geeses, swans, fishes, & turtles. A lot of folks are picnicking. Some shaded areas. There was a street vendor roaming around. There's slight incline if you plan to do some walking but there is some paved paths where I did see folks walking around. There are poop along the path and also on the grass. This is wonderful park to have in the neighborhood. Wished I lived a bit closer and wished we came prepared with a picnic blanket. Tips: -Small parking lot. -Restroom available. -Basketball courts. -Small playground with 2 swings.

Very open to the community and lots of families and all ages are at this park. It's not a very big park in itself, maybe about 2 miles all around, but there are different trails you can walk to from this entrance. It's not a loud park, even with a lot of people there it seems. Very relaxing and enjoyable. There is limited parking in the parking lot, but you can also park on the curb. Just check out the street parking times. There are city parking times where you're not to park there, unless collecting parking tickets is your thing.

Unlike our AYSO experience, which required me--a decidedly not-soccer-talented lifelong baseball player dad-- to referee games and coach teams, the only thing I have to do for this team is write checks, drive to various parks and fields within an hour or so of my home, and cheer. Recently, Huber Park in lovely Eastvale was the location of the games for the weekend, and we piled in the truck as a family to make the 40 minute run from the San Gabriel Valley. The park is situated in the general area of the Prado dam flood plain, between a track housing neighborhood and a commercial/industrial area. The field is surrounded and n all sides by a downslope hill, almost as if this originally was going to be a lake and they changed it to a grassy sports field at the last minute. More likely, this park serves as an overflow spreading ground in the event of a flood. The park has some picnic facilities, an impressive skatepark, and some play equipment for the kiddies. After the game, we walked over to find the park restrooms locked on a Saturday morning at 9:30 AM. Really, Eastvale? Get it together-- it's a public restroom near a kids' play area. Other than the restroom stupidity, seemed like a nice park. Or at least one that the neighbors might protect as a locals-only kind of thing.
