I came in for a yearly eye exam with my husband since this place was close to home. When they screened our eyes using the lens, it was blurry and they told us we needed prescription and try to sell us on $250+ for each glasses. My husband and I have never had eye issues and our vision is always 20/20 when visiting our primary doctor. So I was a bit shocked. Went to our primary doctor two months later and they told us we had no issues with our vision. This place is a scam trying to use a blurred lens to get us to buy prescription glasses that we don't need. I read another post saying they did the same thing to a child. How upsetting and embarrassing. read more

Chino Optometry was my go-to optometrist for a very long time, but due to COVID-19, they closed their Chino location. So now I go to their Eastvale Optometry. Dr. Vance Nguyen is my optometrist. He mainly does regular eye exams once a year for me. He is the best... friendly and caring. He knows his eye profession. He takes very good care of his patients. Thank you Dr. Vance! They have a wide selections of eyeglasses. The staff is always pleasant and attentive... thank you Nikki! They do accept eye insurance and cash prices is a given. Husband sent to this Dr by Scan (contracted). His first visit went fine (he thought). Asked to take eye prescription out so that he could have his glasses made at Costco since the glasses are less expensive. My husband picked up his glasses and could not see, he took them back to Costco to make sure it was the right prescription and was informed that they were what the Dr. ordered. He then called Eastvale Optometry and they scheduled appointment for him, he was seen today and the doctor said he had typed in wrong info on prescription. He said that he could leave them and they would correct the problem and would be done in a week. My husband left the doctors office and received a call to come back to pick up glasses because he did not purchase the glasses there they could not correct them even if it was their mistake, he was advised to take them back to where he bought them. Costco did not make the mistake, they did! Everyone makes a mistake sometime but if the doctor made the mistake they should take care of their mistake, my husband should not be inconvenienced husband by making him go back to Costco. To start off, the doctor rushed my appointment and ended up with the wrong prescription. I ordered contacts that day fully trusting out and ended up with six months that were incorrect. It was in the middle of corona so the office was closed and I could not fix the mistake. I came back months later after Covid and everything had finally opened, and they refused to honor honor the Groupon I had. Telling me it was not worth less than I had before. I started noticing some changes in my eyes so I called the optometrist that I had been going to for the past 5 years and they said they could take me for another month. I knew I needed to see someone before then so since we recently moved I thought this was a perfect opportunity to find someone closer to me. I thought I would try Eastvale and I was pleasantly surprised. I gave them a call and they took me right away. From the time I made the appointment until I left my appointment they showed me nothing but professionalism and kindness. This place is completely ridiculous. I was a few minutes late and they canceled my appointment, Ok no big deal I was late I can take responsibility. I rescheduled the appointment for a week later and when I walk in the receptionist who seems to believe she is the the dr, said that my appointment could not be today because their phone lines are down. I asked what her phone lines have to do with someone checking my eyes and was told the exam is done online. She continued to stare at me without saying anything as I stood there in awe and followed up with thank you have a nice day. I then asked was she planning on rescheduling or am I to leave and never return? She said oh yeah you can do that if you'd like. I bought a deal through groupon for eastvale Optometry. An I was beyond PLEASED!!!! The doctor was nice an friendly. The time frame for my glasses to be ordered an ready for puck up. Was great! About 2 an half weeks. But, the best was the receptionist!!! I didn't get her name. But, both times she was the sweetest :) When I went to pick up my new glasses. She was so nice to my 4 year old daughter. Talking to her an even giving her a notepad an a really nice pink pen from her personal supply. The doctor here Is very professional and not only helped me get the right prescription glasses but also was able to get me into some contacts! My previous doctor had given me the wrong prescription so I thought I would try this place out instead and I am so glad that I did!! Let me first start by saying the Dr was professional and courteous. The experience with his office staff was the weakness. After my appointment I waited in the lobby until ready to back in. While I waited I asked the ladies about frames and clip ons. Neither one of the staff would get up from behind the counter and help. After a frustrating lack of service I walked out. I came back the next day hoping for better service but no. No better experience the next day. Instead of even buying another pair of frames I chose to give up my pair and use an old pair of frames. Missed opportunity for customer service and up selling. They had me there. I wanted to keep the business in Eastvale but will not at this business again. read more

Their front office staff is incompetent. My parents both had appointments that were confirmed via text message. They showed up but no one was there yet even though technically they were open. My parents waited about half an hour before they decided to leave. They looked at the text message and it said the wrong confirmation date even though my dad spoke to the receptionist when he made the appointment that it was the correct day. After my parents left they got another text message saying that they messed up the date and asked if they could come back or if they wanted to make another appointment. My dad said forget it. What a waste of time. I made them an appointment at Specs in Riverside and they had a much better experience there. Please train your staff to properly text patients. read more

It was Thursday & I looked on google to see what time they Closed & it says [6.00PM] I go at 4:50pm and they're completely CLOSED‼‼ thanks for wasting my time and being very unprofessional. They even had a sign outside on the door giving the hours and every day said they close at [6:00pm] & Wednesday's they close at 5:00. Absolutely rude and condescending optometrist. I was told my appt was at 1230 and when I came then they told me 1220 and wouldn't fit me in. The optometrist said they had someone coming in then for an appt which was a blatant lie. I sat in my car calling other optometrist and not one person walked in there for at least 40 minutes. Not only was she condescending and rude she was also way young and her style was absolutely distracting with tore fishnets and a bright short skirt. So unprofessional. Regarding office : Came to the Eastvale office few times for yearly exam..... Each time I was examined by different doctors never the same or the owner. They either left the office or were replaced. I was very disappointed with this office and will not return again. I tried the Groupon deal as I am cash patient as there is 2 of us and thought it would be the cheapest route. I ended up paying twice as much overall. I had to make payments to get our glasses. After I received our glasses and paid for them they gave us the wrong frames that were paid for. Apparently they did not make them anymore.... They never bothered to tell me I paid for frames and were given cheap Medi-cal or welfare glasses instead of the ones i thought I purchased. Frames in days started to discolor and have white coating on them so I questioned it , took them back and this is how I found I had the wrong frames. The frames looked like they were found on the floor and sitting in the sun for months. Once we received our glasses along with my contacts I was having problem seeing , I happen to go to a free fair and Costco and come to find out they also gave me the wrong prescription on both us. They gave us a prescription that our vision numbers had improved, which was not the case I struggled and so did my daughter in seeing. I made them aware but they did nothing to assist and fix the matter. Because my daughter struggled to see I had to take her across he street in the Ralph shopping center and re-pay for a new exam and glasses. I'm still stuck with mine as being a cash patient you would hope they get it right the first time. I continued to complaint and even had to reach out to the office manager that I have never met in there chino office to assist. Nikki did step in to push things along but it took a massive army to get helped. Each time they told me my glasses would be ready for pick up in 1-2 weeks it became more of 1-2 months. Regarding staff: Not properly trained, there is a front office gal I believe her name is Rosa she has no clue what she is doing, she can not do anything without calling someone, very afraid and insecure which is lack of training or just not type of job for her. She has been there for a year or more and still does not know what to do as a simple change lenses into new frames. There was one occasion a remember going in were I sat and waited around to be seen and the front office staff was chatting about their personal partying and weekend events. At one point talking about who slept with who in the past ... They had an x boyfriend visit one of them while this discussion was in place, laughing and really not caring that the conversation could be overheard. Unprofessional! Regarding owner: Never met the guy but I made it a point to make him aware of the problems in his office. First of he is never there.... I brought the above information to his attention he did hear me out, but it was more like a zone me out kinda listening . It did not come across as he was interested in listening. I do recall him mentioning that he did not hire randoms and he needed to make a buck like everybody else. He said I waited to long to fix the problem and it was out of his hands at this point. I did mention to him that I spent time paying the office off and getting glasses but that is no excuse to get wrong frames. I am a customer since the early days and generally pleased with Dr. Van Nguyen despite his office staff. Office staff has finally driven this customer away. Summary: -I go in for exam/lenses/frames. A young doctor (apparently no longer works there) prescribes progressive lenses. -The new glasses arrive but I can only see clearly out of top 10% of the lenses. Bottom 90% only works to see items 3 inches from my nose. After re-checking my order, office staff found the lab had doubled the magnification on the progressives. Lab's fault. No problem, glasses sent back to lab for correction. -New "corrected" glasses arrive and still can only see clearly out of top 10% of the lenses. Bottom 90% only works to see items 6 inches from my nose. Office staff recommends I use them consistently for a week so my eyes would adjust to the progressive lenses. One week later, I'm still having to tilt my head to look out of the top 10% of the lens. Bottom 90% is unusable -- I cannot read unless I hold the book 6 inches from my nose, or unless I tilt my head and use the same top 10% sliver of lenses at a normal reading distance (~15 inches for me). Back to the doctor's office. -Office staff treats me as if I didn't know what I was talking about and tells me I "need" progressives because I am in my 40s. OK. I explain that only the top part of the lens works for both far AND near vision. 2nd eye exam is set up. -Another doctor (older gentleman, not Dr. Van) re-checks my eyes and writes prescription for single vision lenses--same prescription minus the progressive. -New single vision glasses arrive and finally I can see using the entire lens. Far and near. Problem solved. So, I ask about the $90 fee I was charged extra for Progressive Lenses. I'm told I would have to eat that cost otherwise the office would lose money. I might have let it go at this point, but I am further told in a snarky way that I had the option to refuse the progressive lenses in the beginning. That may be, but the reason I go see an optometrist is to have an eye doctor check my eyes and issue a prescription as needed. If it is up to me to reject that prescription; what is the point of going in the first place? It seems to me the progressive prescription was bad from the start, and the subsequent single vision prescription proves it. My ordeal lasted over 2 months and multiple visits. In both instances glasses were returned for correction, I had to call the office a few weeks after not hearing from them and was told the glasses had "just come in". I am generally forgiving of occasional, mildly-bad service. This experience, however, was my tipping point so I was compelled to write this review. While any business will have some dissatisfied customers; this one currently has a majority (and all for the same reason). There is clearly a problem with the office staff that needs to be addressed. This 10+ year customer (and dependents) will instead check out the other optometrists in Eastvale. read more

I absolutely love this place! The new girls at the front desk are sweet and helpful. I was new to the area and needed a new eye doctor that was close. I thought I would try this place out. I was getting really bad headaches and it was a going on problem. I told my last eye doctor I think it was my glasses but he kept telling me my prescription was the same. Come to find out I had the wrong prescription for my glasses this whole time. I really recommend this place. Dr. Vance was so helpful. The groupon saved me SO MUCH MONEY, my appointment started right on time, it was very quick and easy and the doctor was a total sweetheart. I was in and out in 45 minutes. The front desk girls were very sweet and helpful. 10/10 totally recommend. @Jeanette: that sucks, especially because there was no fine print. I came in on Groupon. I already had contact lenses so just needed glasses. First I was greeted after just looking at the selection. She asked for my Groupon and I have it to her. She told me to fill out the paperwork needed. Finished that quickly. Then she administered 3 vision exams. Then I had to wait for the doctor. He came in. He tested my peripheral vision with a stick with a white call on the end. He got me setup into the perfect prescription. After that he told me to go up front and the ladies well help me. I looked around at frames for over 30 minutes with a single person asking to help me. I had to ask them to open a case so I can see the frames, which made it seem like I was inconveniencing them. Then I struggled to narrow down to 3. Still no assist from anyone. I finally found a pair I wanted. $350 Dolce & Gabana. Because of my astigmatism they only offered me a certain lens which in turn only left less than 1/8 of my voucher to cover the frames. I wanted those so I wanted to buy them regardless. She grabbed them from me and asked if I was finished yet. I said yes. No fitting. No opinion. Just did her paperwork and asked me how much I wanted to put down. I told her the total amount. They arrived 3 days after they anticipated. They didn't fit right on my face and she only did metal bending adjustments by her fingers. I asked about molding the plastic pieces. She said she could but it wasn't necessary. Bottom line, don't use them for Groupon. Find other places. read more
