My name is Richard who has a 100% service-connected disability from the Marine Corps, I hurt my shoulder over a year ago I had tried physical therapy, and follow through with the exercises physical therapy had given me. My shoulder, left shoulder never got better, I sleep on my left side and I could no longer get a good night sleep this went on for 7 months. With my left shoulder I could not reach over my head, or in front of me. Reaching to the back of me was very painful too. Walking hurt my left shoulder. At the Brockton Veterans Hospital I talked to my doctor about going to Acupuncture, the good thing about the VA Hospital it now accepts Acupuncture as a way of improving the quality of one's life. Eastway Acupuncture goes the Extra Mile to help heal. The Extra mile for me has been deep tissue massage, cupping, smoothing, along with the traditional acupuncture care. I have used other acupuncture facilities before for other health issues. Eastway is TOPS ! The "quality of my life" and SLEEP have just about returned 100%. Some fear the needle, nothing to fear, the needles used are so thin you do not feel them going in and the end results are awesome. Taking a deep breath helps the needles go in with out your knowledge too. I am looking forward to a FULL recovery of my left shoulder with Corporation of my body & the full Approval of the VA Hospital (Choice program) to continue the amount of care needed to reach the goal of full recovery by using the tools and talent provided at Eastway Acupuncture and Wellness. I found Eastway Acupuncture on Blue Cross's website when I was looking to try acupuncture for the first time. I found this to be close to my office and had appointments after work hours so I made an appointment. I was suffering from stress, clenching my jaw and excessive tiredness. My first visit, I did not know what to expect. Laid on the table in a small warm room listening to spa music. Yi met with me to discuss why I was there and felt my pulse. The needles do not hurt(number one thing people asked me after I went) and were very relaxing. Strange. She put the first needle in my foot and I could feel a sensation in my arm. It was very relaxing. Then Yi told me that she was going to have Dr.Lee come in to see my after. I did not know that I was seeing someone else. He did acupressure on my feet and legs and I am not kidding it was the best massage I ever felt. When I left, Yi gave me a foot soak regiment to remove the toxins from my body. I booked another appointment right away. The next time I went I only saw Dr. Lee. After seeing Dr. Lee I was so relaxed I could barely form a sentence. Amazing. It was better than any spa massage I ever had. The third time I went I talked to Yi about trying the vitamins that she recommends. That week after seeing Yi, Dr. Lee and startng the vitamins I felt like a new person. I was not feeling stressed. I felt reallly, really happy. I aslo had energy. I LOVE this place!! I've been going to the Norwood office for a few weeks now due to some eye vision problems, mostly blurriness and headaches, and felt no difference from the supplements or drugs my physician had prescribed. A family friend had recommended Dr. Yi and I decided to try it! Within the first two appointments, I felt amazing relief, the headaches had completely vanished. The acupuncture can be a bit scary but now I'm pretty much used to it and the cupping is really relaxing as well. I also take the herbs Dr. Yi gives me and I think it has been a big part of the process. I'm busy so I can only make it once a week but my eyesight has significantly improved, I can wake up and go to bed with clear vision! I have been battling sciatica since October because of a herniated disc. I am a commercial fisherman, Charter Captain and horse trainer, so it's a busy lifestyle. I had two injections, then tried PT after the first one, which aggravated the situation. 2 most later, had 2nd injection , when that wore off Flexerol and Ibuprofen kept it at bay. Not wanting to stay medicated, decided to try acupuncture after friends had had success with it. Was pleasantly surprised with my first visit to Eastway. The team that greeted me was warm and caring, consisting of Dr Yi, her assistant John and receptionist Gina. I suffer from chronic disk problems in my neck: C5/C6 and C6/C7. These were injured more than a decade ago. In January I fell asleep on an airplane with my neck in a bad position which triggered 6 months of pain and numbness in my right arm. I could not find a position to sleep in where my arm would not go numb. After 6 months of suffering I started going to both physical therapy and acupuncture. I never saw any positive affect from the PT, but after 2 months of acupuncture and acupressure massage, my symptoms have almost completely disappeared. I have no understanding of how acupuncture works, but I have seen consistent improvement to my pain and numbness problems since I started seeing Dr. Yi. Yi Lu is awesome (Norwood). I had horrible lower back pain with sciatica pain. I couldn't stand up straight and so miserable. I had four cortisone shots, no relief at all. I was so frustrated I figured I needed surgery. I saw a surgeon who was useless. I figured I'd try acupuncture, people swear by it. I went every night for two weeks and then Monday, Wednesday, Friday and then down to two days a week. I am standing TALL with NO lower back pain at all. Yi Lu is absolutely awesome. I have not seen all the staff at Eastway, but the people I have met have all been excellent. I am extremely hard to work with and have many issues. They have all been so kind to me. Dr. Yi is professional, skilled, and kind. I went to her with Fibromyalgia pain problems that other doctors could not address. She cleared them right up and recommended simple changes that kept the symptoms away. I wish I had seen her five years earlier.
