Eastwind Movers was very good, professional, accommodating, great communication, on time. We hired them to move a few large pieces of furniture from a 2nd floor condo to a storage unit. They had to deal with narrow staircase and some twists and turns and they did not scratch or dent the walls or the furniture. The guys that worked with us were DanB, Gabe, Billy N. We move every 2-3 years so I have worked with 10+ different moving companies over the years. This was the most unprofessional, horrible experience to date and I highly advise you to choose another company. You get what you pay for. A lying owner and an inexperienced crew that will result in hidden fees, overcharges, no clear communication, damage to furniture/walls/door frames and then zero accountability afterwards. I will double down on what another reviewer stated: They do not provide documentation or a contract, but then site a "contract" when you attempt to submit a claim. No inventory or written inspection of the furniture was done before the move. 2/5 movers were wonderful. The other 3 were not able-bodied and could not move heavy boxes or furniture. One man spent the majority of his time on smoke breaks and another was on his phone more often than not. Since only 2 men were physically carrying things, it took double the time to complete the move and I was charged DOUBLE my estimated cost. I wanted to support a local business and I am full of regrets. I should have listened to my instinct when the owner was in a hurry to get to his pickleball game and rushed through my walkthrough. I've done a lot of moving...local, state to state and across the country and this was by far one of my best experiences. We learned of this company by a door hanger ad they left on our front door when we were selling our house. Good advertising idea. The crew was terrific. We were only moving across town but it was quick and easy. The rating would be a 5 star HOWEVER, Mark overcharged us on the bill and asked if he could mail us a check for the $100 difference. We agreed so he didn't need to cancel and redo the transaction. after calling and repeated emails, we are still waiting 70 days later. Responses: 1)Oh, I forgot. 2) You should have gotten it by now... Again 5 star but for the lack of attention refunding the over charge. read more

Billy is a great crew chief. Don't be fooled by the laidback style of the owner and crews. They are very concerned and careful with your possessions. We were very happy with the skill and costs of the move. We moved from Leesburg to Vienna over three days. Day one was packing then loading and moving most of the stuff on day two. Day three was loading and moving of stuff to a rental unit in fairfax. No issues with the crew working and getting to everything. Very happy!!! Highly recommend!!! Oh, no. I have used this company two other times. This time, I had quite a bit of damage to my furniture/belongings. They do not provide or use typical and common documents, such as a contract, BEFORE the move, but try to have you sign off on things at the end of the long day without informing you about what you are signing. I asked for a claim form and have been ignored. I was repeatedly told the insurance adjuster would be in touch with me, but so far silence. No inventory or written inspection of the furniture was done before the move and no offer to purchase insurance was made. The guys moving the stuff were very nice but it seems the company operates in a very informal manner. read more

We were rescued by these movers! Our move from Leesburg to Winchester became complicated because of the real estate transactions and wife called four movers. Only one responded and promised we could begin that needed day,but would need to finish the 2nd day because of the size of move and larger trucks already committed. But it worked in one day because CrewChief Dan Bowers had a secret weapon-his packer of the van was a genius at fitting everything in. Dan sized up the job and declared that with one more able-bodied crew member, he thought they could do it in one day. He called and crew member #4 drive up! AND they did! At the last minute he feared the patio furniture wouldn't make it. But the patio furniture conveyed to the new owner and he was able to do it all. VERY importantly, everything was wrapped and packed with care and we found no scratches or broken furniture. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend East Wind with Dan Bowers crew. read more
