We reached out to Easy Day after we arrived in Key West to see if we could book a last minute charter. We were lucky enough that Captain Tom had a cancellation and was able to take us out that afternoon. We were looking for a relaxing day on the water and he delivered. Discovered Easy Day Charters while on our annual Key West vacation. We set up our private charter to include snorkeling, sandbars and dolphin viewing. Our children are young and not experienced snorkelers. We started on a shallow sandbar to get the family comfortable with the snorkel gear and then went to a shallow nearby reef. Got to see all kinds of colorful reef fish and then checked out stingray alley, that was cool! We were able to view a resident pod of dolphin on our way back to Key West. This was truly the best activity of our trip and are looking forward to going out with Captain Tom on our next Key West visit! read more

I found Easy Day Charters on TripAdvisor about a month ago. After reading some reviews and checking out Easy Day's website, I decided to contact them to see what was involved in booking a private sunset cruise for my family. I sent an email and I got a response back from Captain Tom within the hour. After a short phone conversation, everything was set up. We called to confirm with Captain Tom the day before and the next day he was at the marina waiting for us. Booking and going on the boat charter was by far the easiest and most stress free part of the entire trip. Our two preschool aged children were with us and they had a blast. We looked for dolphins, Captain Tom gave us a tour of the area by boat, pointed out good restaurants to try, recommended things to go do and told us some of the history of the island. The day ended with a beautiful view of the sunset over the water. I highly recommend Easy Day Charters to anyone looking to have relaxing day or partial day out on the water. read more

While recently in Key west with my wife, our two kids, and my wives sister, we were all interested in getting out on the water, but wanted to stay far far away from an impersonal tourist trap boat cruise. A quick search of the internet led us to Easy Day Charters. We were not disappointed!! My wife wanted to snorkel, the kids and I wanted to fish and everyone wanted to just lay on a beach of a deserted island. Captain Tom helped us figure out how to get the most out of our time with him, and helped carve up the day to accomplish exactly what we wanted. He was extremely polite and personable from our first interaction on the phone and honest to the point of just about telling us no when we told him what we were looking to do. The day we had picked out was forecast to be pretty windy and thankfully he told us upfront that if we went out to the reef as we planned that the most likely result would be a boat load of sick people. Thanks to his knowledge we were able to reschedule and everyone had a blast. He first dropped us off at an island about six miles west of key west and politely stayed on board and anchored out of sight while we went of for a few hours of swimming, sunbathing and lunch on the beach. Afterwards we headed off to a lesser known snorkeling spot that was just the right speed for our crew. Captain Tom was a fantastic host, great conversationalist when desired, unobtrusive when not, and helped entertained our children perfectly. Money well spent, and I will look him up next time we are in the keys. read more

Captain Tom of Easy Day Charters handily managed our party of 6 for a half day booking. It was our first time in Key West and we were all excited to do some 'off the beaten path' exploring. Captain Tom took us out to an island in the 'back country' where our gang had a picnic and enjoyed an hour or so walking about on the beach. We were hoping to snorkel or see wild dolphins, but there had been a storm (murky water) and a bit of a cold snap so as a consolation Capt. Tom gave us a colorful tour of the harbor, provided us with some interesting history of the area, and gave us some great recommendations on places to visit for later in our stay. This was the best and most relaxing activity we did while in Key West and would recommend to anyone else looking to get out on the water. This was hands down the most relaxing, coolest, laid back perfect vacation activity I've ever had. I cannot recommend Cap'n Tom enough, he is just a super cool, funny, smart dude. He knows everything in key west, and his charter is completely personalized to whatever you want to do. The more laid back you are, the more fun you'll have. We snorkeled the patch reefs, floated around on a sandbar, toured the mangrove preserve, and just hung out... Seriously one of the best days of my life. Easy Day charters was recommended by a friend and they did not disappoint!! Captain Tom was awesome! He was very honest with us regarding conditions of the water and as much as I wanted to see dolphins he was very honest that where he normally went the water was not clear enough to see them and he would be taking us in a direction he felt was better for todays excursions. We started out by snorkeling, then he took us to a sand bar where the water was beautiful, crystal clear and relaxing. On way back he said he would try and get me to see some dolphins and low and behold we saw a family of 4 up close and personal!!! My family had a great time. We explored a secluded and private beach and snorkeled. We did not have the right conditions for all of the possible things Captain Tom could do, but the Captain steered us in the right direction and made the right call based on the conditions of the water and weather. He was very friendly and knew a lot about Key West and surrounding islands. It was a great family day and everyone had a blast. From the initial email to phone follow up...this is a user friendly company! It is wonderful to be able to talk with the owner-captain tom and captain wade to plan out our charter. Then nature has a way of changing plans...a dolphin show on the way out to fishing left us all in awe. There was a group of 6-8 dolphins-jumps, young ones, rolling around and frisky R rated activity, all as a welcome diversion. Captain Wade was focused on our enjoyment from the beginning to end. My wife I just spent a wonderful 4 hours with Capt. Wade aboard the delightful Easy Day. We really didn't know what we wanted to do, but after a few questions from our great Captain we were on our way. Wade took us to a great spot where we were immediately greeted by a Spotted Eagle Ray. A few minutes later our lines were in the water and we were catching fish. The light tackle made the fishing fun and exciting and we quickly lost count of the number of fish we were catching. Capt Wade was fantastic, I can't say enough about his hospitality. After the fishing frenzy, Wade took us to a nice little sandbar where my wife and floated away the time in a very peaceful and relaxing setting. Awesome day on the water with Captain Tom for our family of 4. His history and experience with the Keys gave us a great taste of local life past and present. We chose some snorkeling and exploring so he brought us to a few 'key' places where we saw amazing colorful sights: coral and fish, urchins, sting rays, conch shells, sponge, even a few barracuda...and I'm sure at least a couple sharks spotted us as well. Dove for sea stars! Trolled some mangroves for the aviary sights. Best part is we could experience what we wanted to without being surrounded by a boat of 30+ people. Thanks Tom! read more

We had a great time with Captain Tom on Easy Day Charters. He tailored the trip exactly to what we wanted to do and gave us realistic expectations about the weather conditions. We went out to a sandbar and were able to float and snorkel, eat and drink. We added on an extra hour because it was so nice. The boat was nice and clean, plenty of shelter from the sun if you need a break. He had the snorkel gear and noodles. Totally recommend over the big boats loaded with people for almost the same cost. My fiancé/now husband grew up fishing and going to key west had to take a fishing trip. Tom was incredible during the entire process and even successfully taught me to fish. The day was very relaxed and allowed my husband to enjoy his fishing. We caught and release since we were only in town for the week and I must say it was a lot more fun than I expected. After fishing we went to a sanbar and swam and snorkled in 5 feet of crystal clear water on a sunken dune. Perfect, beautiful day in Key West! Perfect for those that want a relaxed day. read more
