Is it music is easy or take it easy or easy to get music supplies? I'll take the last one. It is easy to get music supplies at Easy Music Center. When you're at entrance you'll see some signs about checking your bags. Then, you kind of feel uneasy but you can understand why because people can be sketchy and steal things. When you enter there's a greeter/bouncer and will acknowledge you. I was kind of nervous that when nice guy asked me "what brings you in today?" I said "good." Yes, I can be a weirdo like that. Anyhow, my teen needed some refills on her instrument. A guy with stylish red hair quickly helped her. He claims that he's an apprentice but he could have fooled me there. He was so knowledgeable with every part of the clarinet. I think that's what lacks these days. Sales people don't seem to know what they're selling and you can tell they lack training or knowledge. Or maybe I'm just old school. But I surely appreciate when sales people are knowledgeable. So, we quickly got what we needed and was out of there. You then must wait for a store associate to get you. They will walk you straight to your item, and be right next to you the entire time. I came to EMC on my trip to the islands to buy a soprano ukulele. EMC has a decent selection of ukuleles for sale in a range of price points. The employees are knowledgeable and are very helpful. My husband has been a loyal customer at Easy Music for decades now, but today was the first time I purchased something on my own from there. And I must admit, I was impressed. For one, all their store inventory is up to date online. I was able to pick out what I wanted online, and select "Store pick-up" at checkout. I got a confirmation email that my order was ready about 15 minutes later. Drove over there, parked, and called the phone number on the email. The guy brought my purchase out to me so I didn't even have to get out of the car! He checked my drivers license, which I'm glad for so nobody else tries to come pick up my schtuff. So the thing is, people go to Easy Music because the staff is super knowledgeable about instruments and sound. So if you know what you're looking for in general, but don't know what your options are or what to get, they know exactly what to recommend and why. What was a relief to me was that you can get that same help over chat on their site, or on the phone or email. NOT like some other sellers who make it next to IMPOSSIBLE to find their contact info because they really just don't want you to contact them at all so they pray you'll give up in the process of looking for it on their site. Which, btw, I did right before going to Easy Music today. I tried to buy this thing (it was a USB microphone) from a couple of different websites (not mentioning names) and it wouldn't have gotten here until AFTER Christmas, which was not gonna work. Because I check out the Easy Music site, I was able to have it in-hand within 20 minutes! Cha-ching! BUY LOCAL, FOLKS! (I'm preaching to myself as well.) Oh--and I didn't actually step foot in the store, but I did notice a check-in station outside the doors--not sure what they were doing but I'm sure it had something to do with COVID safety measures. I'm so excited! I purchased my first ukelele today at Easy Music Center and it was a great experience. I was greeted at the door by a friendly young man who directed me to the ukeleles and said to help myself and let him know if I needed help. I gazed at the huge selection of beautiful instruments and tried several before I formulated my questions. Then Anju answered my questions and based on my needs, helped me select the perfect ukelele for me. Anju really knew her stuff and could tell me about the wood, keys etc.. I would go lower if I could. Staff seemed friendly enough. Took a new guitar I bought online in for a setup. I provided the strings and was going to 10's which was going to require some work on the nut, I checked before hand and the strings would have been binding in the slots. The setup was done the next day. I picked it up on the way home from work. I had a look when I got home, action at the 12th fret was fine. There were dead spots all up the neck on multiple strings, not just buzzing dead as in nothing. Checked the height at the nut, found the nut was cut too deep on 3 strings, had to use nut powder and super glue to raise the strings. I would never let a guitar be worked on at this store again. If the tech would have said this is what we found with the guitar and notified me it would be one thing. But instead I take it home only to find out its unplayable with no warning. I verified the relief and did a level and crown of the frets and It plays good now, would never go back to this store again though. read more

To start off I just started going back to taiko practice. So I was looking for a 10" Remo practice pad to practice on my own with. I visited EMC back in May, interested in high-end classical guitars. Hans was super helpful, and told me an Eastman Cabaret JB was coming in around November. It's a hybrid and perfect as I play both a classical and an archtop. He said they would hold it for me and quoted $2,720. I agreed. I could get the JB from some shops on the internet for about the same price (considering shipping vs tax) but I wanted to buy local and EMC has always been a good place. The guitar came in just a couple of days ago. I called but Hans is no longer there. I went in, tried it out. Ben took over and no pressure, very helpful and friendly. I loved the guitar. However the price had gone up to $2,990, quite a jump. When I told Ben that Hans had quoted $2,720, he simply said, "We'll honor that price." Wow! How many stores would have done that? It speaks volumes about EMC's honest and fair approach and how they absolutely put their customers first. That's something to remember. Its waterproof, reasonably priced, so itll be a great beginner instrument for me. The come in lots of funky colors, I just wanted black which wasnt in stock but they were happy to have one transferred from their other store which arrived the next day. Never again will I go back to this store. I am a local and I support local business. I went in to the store to buy a pedal and at the register the guy opens the box because it was a demo model. He showed me a cable that comes with it and puts it all back in the box. When I came home the cable was not it the box. So I went back the next day and now they are trying to tell me that it doesn't come with a cable. If you don't want to get ripped off do not shop here. I got my refund and drove all the way to pearl city and even if I paid more I bought the pedal from Guitar Center. Way better customer service. read more
