I've also gotten to chat with the owners/managers and it's clear that they take tea quality seriously. The desserts are top-notch as well. La Luna also has a great, dark atmosphere to catch up with friends or get some work done. It can definitely get crowded!

I ordered a Coconut Mousse, Lemon Mousse, and Pistachio Cafe Frappe. Once they rung me up, I saw a charge for $9, but I know for a fact that nothing I ordered was $9. The young guy ringing me up said the coconut mousse isn't $8.50, its $9 - but the menus hung overhead as well as the to-go menu pamphlets all said $8.50. I know its only 50 cents, but its the principle of the thing - you have to honor the price you advertise to the customer. The young boy and even the manager kept insisting on how that's for the old menu, I don't care - that is your mistake, not mine. Update your menu then - and he showed me how the laminated print out menu said $9, but I showed how the wooden boards hung up and the pamphlets both say otherwise. Took way longer than it should've. The boy didn't know how to manually override the price, so I had to ask him to get his manager to. These people don't understand proper business etiquette. Hope that experience taught them something. Aside from that pricing issue. Food was good, and ambiance was nice. Plenty of picturesque spots inside to snap photos at. Would I recommend them? Maybe. Will I come back? Maybe, but to their other location next time.

I'm definitely a sweets person, but not usually a "cake" person because they're often way too sweet. Not here! At least for the cakes I've tried. The icing on their strawberry shortcake and the brown derby cakes is just amazing. Both of those cakes are so flavorful but not overwhelmingly sweet. One of my favorite things is that they offer single slices of cake. It's the perfect way to satisfy a craving and try it before committing to an entire cake (although you'll probably want one after your first bite!). I haven't tried their cookies or other treats yet, but if they taste half as good as the cakes, I'm sure they're also amazing. This place is a 10/10 for me. I highly recommend!

We ordered half a pound of the sea salt caramel cake cookies and a half assortment of the M&M and Reese's Pieces butter cookies. I was able to check in here on Yelp and snagged four free chocolate chip cookies. When we went to checkout they said we got to spin a wheel (honestly can't remember the purchase threshold) but I spun and got a free cupcake. I opted for the Boston Cream cupcake. We have had all of the other items before but I was extremely excited to try the cupcake and had it with lunch. The cake was so soft and spongy and the chocolate ganache topping was so rich and decadent balancing the cream filling. The place was clean and well ventilated, the staff who served us was nice, and service was actually pretty quick. I can see now why this bubble tea shop has very high praises and ratings on Yelp. I came to Paleta Bar to finally try the viral Dubai cookie. So many friends have sent it to me…read moresaying I need to make it and sell it but of course, I had to taste it first. One cookie cost $6.50 and it's filled with katafi and pistachio. The texture totally surprised me --it was soft and stretchy like mochi, but after looking at some of the recipes, it seems the base is actually marshmallow. That probably explains why it's less sweet than you'd expect, with that perfect crunch from the katafi and nuttiness from the pistachio. Definitely going to start experimenting with my own version soon... but I'm glad I got my first fix.
