I've ordered a full cake before and have also tried several of their single-serve desserts, and I've never been disappointed. I'm definitely a sweets person, but not usually a "cake" person because they're often way too sweet. Not here! At least for the cakes I've tried. The icing on their strawberry shortcake and the brown derby cakes is just amazing. Both of those cakes are so flavorful but not overwhelmingly sweet. One of my favorite things is that they offer single slices of cake. It's the perfect way to satisfy a craving and try it before committing to an entire cake (although you'll probably want one after your first bite!). I haven't tried their cookies or other treats yet, but if they taste half as good as the cakes, I'm sure they're also amazing. This place is a 10/10 for me. I highly recommend! read more

We've been to several other Freed's location but hadn't been to this one at The Bend yet. We were out running errands and wanted to get a small treat to celebrate our anniversary and decided to stop by. Granted we had never gone in the morning before (it was about 11:30am) so I'm not used to having so many available options but the store was bright, clean, and well stocked. Who are we kidding that we would leave with something small? We ended up with a slice of red velvet cake, Parisian chocolate, carrot cake, and confetti sprinkle cake. We ordered half a pound of the sea salt caramel cake cookies and a half assortment of the M&M and Reese's Pieces butter cookies. I was able to check in here on Yelp and snagged four free chocolate chip cookies. When we went to checkout they said we got to spin a wheel (honestly can't remember the purchase threshold) but I spun and got a free cupcake. I opted for the Boston Cream cupcake. We have had all of the other items before but I was extremely excited to try the cupcake and had it with lunch. The cake was so soft and spongy and the chocolate ganache topping was so rich and decadent balancing the cream filling. This is another dangerous addition to have right around the corner but to be honest we are always grateful to have a consistent bakery close by. Freed's is a truly a Las Vegas icon. They have been serving up the best desserts since 1959. I have always been a fan but noticed I had never reviewed them. I frequent many of their locations and this is now their 8th location within Las Vegas. I remember the first time I received a Freed's cake. It is their specialty - World Famous Strawberry Shortcake. It was so moist, creamy, fresh strawberries and just filled with yum. I had this cake probably over 30 years ago but I never forgot it. I have been coming back ever since for this cake specifically. Don't get me wrong, they also make a ton of other cakes, cookies, cupcakes, and anything I have tried I have always enjoyed. They offer world wide shipping and local delivery. They also offer cake tastings via appointment. On this particular day, I stopped in for a slice of the Strawberry Shortcake and it was devoured that evening. Service was friendly and helpful and I liked the decor of this store. Although hard to photograph, the decor featured a colorful mural of our city. Fun Fact: They have been voted Best of Las Vegas for 30 consecutive years and were featured on Food Networks "Vegas Cakes" Be sure to try them out whether you are a local or visiting, you will thank me later. read more

Nice that Freed's is opening up more locations around town! They always have a great variety of cakes and desserts. Prices are descent as well. Prices are in the goldilocks range between store bought and high end. Last cakes I've tried were the chocolate Parisian, Blackout, and an eclair. Of the three, the Parisian chocolate cake was my favorite because it was moist, fluffy, and flavor was lightly sweet. The blackout was good, but a bit more dense. The eclair was okay. The flavor of cakes did not blow me away, but they are still very good for the value. read more

Walked in to check it out and walked out with tiramisu, 2 cannolis and 2 cookies. The cannolis were good. I like that they only put the chocolate chips on one end. The tiramisu was good but the lady fingers on the end were too crunchy for my liking. I added some espresso at home and that made all the difference. The two cookies were something I wouldn't do again. They're sold by the pound and for two quarter size cookies I was charged over $3. I asked about this and the girl didn't seem very knowledgeable. Definitely not worth that in my book. For any future visit I now have reference points. read more

Stopped in here over the weekend to satisfy my pregnancy sweet tooth. I'm craving EVERYTHING sugar these days, so seeing Freed's in this area after having brunch across the way was divine intervention. First of all, I'm already such a big fan of Freed's Bakery. We frequent the one on Eastern. This shop is a little smaller than that one, and they don't have quite as many dessert selections, but it still hits the spot! I had originally gone in wanting a cannoli but they didn't have them that day. No worries! The rest of their selection was enough for me! I got a half dozen of the macarons. The lemon was my favorite of all of them, which the girl helping me also mentioned that it was her favorite, too. I also got a fudge bar with walnuts, which was SO good. WOW! I'm going to need to come back to try the cookies. They also had some ice cream sandwiches, too, and some cakes that people were picking up as well as some that you could take with you day of. There's no seating as it's more of a take it and go type of spot, but very clean inside! And again, staff was so nice. Definitely will be back again! read more

Stopped by after dining at the brewery across the ways. We wanted something sweet. All of the desserts looked delicious. We opted for h he Almond and Mexican Cookie. Personally for me I was not pleased with it. And maybe because I've had some really good almond cookies elsewhere. Also, the Mexican cookie which is similar to Jewish wedding and snowball cookie was ok. There was an after taste that I didn't like. Next time I'll try a different cookie as they all looked yummy. I have heard that Freed's is the best dessert shop in town. Sadly, I cannot agree. It appears to be quite overrated IMO. I have purchased several cake slices on a few occasions. NY cheesecake, carrot, tiramisu, red velvet. I'm not sure if it's just my luck or what, but most of these tasted old/stale and I'm not sure how long they were sitting there for. My workplace has a variety of cakes that get provided to me and I'd actually rather eat those free cakes than this. The sweetness also just isn't the right balance for me. I gave it a few chances but I don't think I'll be back. No issues on service etc. read more

Someone from my church family group brought Freed's Black Forest Cake to a birthday celebration, and I fell in love! You can definitely taste the liquor in the chocolate, and though the cake is sweet, it was not overly rich. So one day, my husband and I decided to visit this Freed's location on our area and purchased two individual slices of their Black Forest Cake and German Chocolate Cake. The staff were very nice. While the location seems to be more for picking up pastries, they do have a door in the back that leads to their outdoor seating. We grabbed disposable forks from the counter and took our treats to the outdoor seating area. Unfortunately, there is no shade in the seating area so the sun was beating down on us. Nonetheless, the cakes were so good, though I think the Black Forest Cake has a special "bubbly" quality over the German Chocolate. Ohhhhh I always love a good dessert spot and this just so happened to be next door to the Greek spot we just left, so it was kismet!! I'm not going to lie, I was overwhelmed by the smell, in a very good way!! I went straight to the chocolate options!! Such a cute little dessert shop! I was just browsing around the shopping center and happened to come across Freed's Dessert Shop on Sunset and Durango, so glad I did! The employees were super friendly and welcoming with a smile, and the whole place smells so good when you walk in. I grabbed a half-pound bag of cookies to sample, and wow my favorites were the chocolate chip wafer, maple pecan, almond, and crystals. All of them were delicious! We usually go to the Eastern location but it's been a while since we picked up Freeds. It was great knowing they opened one up on the SW side - which is closer to us. This location is definitely smaller with limited selection but they did have a couple of our favorites we usually order. Loved how small and cozy the place felt so it isn't as overwhelming. This family-owned dessert shop has been a staple for my husband and I since moving to Vegas. We tend to have a sweet tooth, so finding a place that offers a variety of yummy treats was a must. We were very excited when they opened up this new location by our home. The establishment's nicely organized and they had a few outdoor tables where you can enjoy your sweet treats. My husband got the tiramisu and I picked out two of their most popular cupcake flavors. The strawberries and cream cupcake had a fluffy texture and the perfect amount of sweetness. The cookies and cream cupcake is overall very tasty and satisfied my chocolate craving. The tiramisu was delicious, but just a slight bit on the drier side. I always went to the Freed's in Summerlin for my cookies, so I'm glad to see that Freed's was open here in The Bend The bakery itself is small. There's no street parking so you have to pull around back next to the ramen place. This location looks clean. It has cupcakes, fudge brownies, cookies and slices of delicious cake. There was plenty of staff on hand. They didn't ask me to enter my ph # for my Freed's club thingy. It was only after I asked about it and paid, that they pointed me to the smiles sign on the counter Freed's has the reputation as the BEST, but my M&M cookies didn't taste the same. I attended their grand opening and enjoyed myself. My girlfriend met up with me with her young daughter so that made it fun. They had free cupcakes for grand opening welcome samples along with face painting and balloon artist. I went inside the shop itself to see what they have. They do have some delicious looking bakeries and cakes. This would be a great place to pre-order your birthday cakes. The staffs were busy but friendly and helpful. The venue was cleans and just big enough for customers to walk in and order. There's a few tables outside, in their patio like setting that you can sit and eat, which is great when weather is good. My only recommendation is that they sell some beverages. I asked if they sell any drinks and I was told they only have water. It's nice to have a Freed's on this side of town. I got a box of cookies which was about $11, which is super cheap for the quality and variety that they offer. Staff was super helpful in picking them out to get some of their best sellers as well as some unique tastes. Everything was packed with care and made it home safe and sound. Both brownies were yummy with distinctly different flavors. Was told the Dubai brownie was a new recipe - so so so good. Ordering cake from Freeds is easy, they have so many options. The decoration is nice and affordable. However, over the years, every birthdays every celebration I have always considered Freeds as my go to for cakes. This last time March 7, 2026 I ordered a marble cake with chocolate frosting. Size was good but the taste and the texture of the cake definitely has gone down and tasted cheap. I know they didn't use quality ingredients as the cake was also rejected by my guests.. some say it tasted like flour. and the chocolate was not even spread out, like they tried to lessen the frosting. So I am not even sure if I want to order from them again next time. I might try other bakeries. read more
