Tho Tammy and crew only cook it for special occasions (last time was the Fourth), could a *very limited amount still be available? **NOTE: I have eaten barbecue of many myriad kinds, from both Carolinas, Alabama to Virginia, from Chicago and St. Louis, Kansas City, Texas, and Colorado-- so I am a discriminating consumer. To really "get" the meat's flavor, I first eat BBQ *without any sauce. Lorenzo's BBQ is simply THE.BEST.EVER. Smoked, then basted continually with a mystery-mix for a total of a dozen hours, this result is ideal-- But he keeps the rest of the story to himself. It tastes most like a KC dry rub, and (if you're of a mind), with Tammys homemade sauce, its simply classic. Beans were slow-cooked-- [tho the slaw was (a notable exception), *just "slaw"]. So, when's the next holiday? OK. Shrimp and grits is re-defined here! If you've never tried it, take the plunge. If you're a fan of this dish in its Charleston or Nawlins roots, you'll think you're in heaven. +Overall, five stars-- very reasonable pricing for the quality-- and quantity! read more

We stopped our first night for a couple of appetizers to hold us over until we met others for a late dinner elsewhere. The place was dead when we first went arrived, but soon filled to near capacity as local after local, many of which the hostess welcomed by name, came for dinner. We ordered their sliders, two American style, one jerk, and their loaded fries. The sliders were heavenly! The American style was so flavorful I didn't add any condiments to it. My husband said the jerk was equally as delicious, though with a completely different flavor profile. The fries were good, but definitely overshadowed by the sliders. We returned a couple nights later for a full dinner. We began with the fried plantains, shear perfection! One in our party this night has dietary issues and has to avoid animal products, but that didn't bother the staff at all. They happily prepared her a tofu vegetable stir-fry curry which was absolutely delicious (she shared bites) and quite substantial. I ordered the American style burger because I just couldn't get enough of it, again, it was so very good. Husband ordered the shrimp and grits, which he said was delicious. Our son ordered the chicken dinner, which was large enough to feed a small family. All thoroughly enjoyed their meals, which were so well seasoned, it made you want to inhale them and savor them simultaneously. read more

The second time I was there (early May), I was going with a group of friends down to Columbus to take our kids to the Coca Cola Space Museum. I told them about my husband and I's visit to restaurant a month prior and suggested we try it on the way home. 3 females and 5 children (enough to make anyone go crazy...lol) all sat inside. My friends and I ordered (Chicken Philly, Big Mouth Burger, Polish Dog, Fried Shrimp) and for the kids we ordered their kids meal (1- slider burger, 3 -chicken bites, 1-hot dog). I cannot attest for the children's food but all of us adult selections tasted great and my friends were glad I made this suggestion...and decided next time they're down here they will definitely come back! Again....we had to get dessert! I got the key lime cake for myself. My friends each got the red velvet cake. My boys got shared the apple bomb & ice cream, and the other kids had cheesecake and ice cream. The place was kind of smaller than a normal restaurant but still accommodating as it was packed when we were there. It also has an outdoor patio. The wait staff is great and provides great service. The ambience makes you feel like you're on vacation. They have TVs for sports freaks (like my husband...lol). read more

Had an outstanding experience. EatZ not only stands out on the corner but stands out in food. The atmosphere was friendly, and warm, but in 90 degree weather the balmy atmosphere felt like a touch of Grenada, which Tammy told us it was meant to represent. She and her staff (which was family), were incredibly friendly and attentive. We didn't know what in the world we wanted and they were patient and understanding. After no small amount of time we ordered the Cold Cut Club, Fried Shrimp, and Onion Rings. We didn't want heavier fare that late, but I have to tell you it was ALL delicious. The rings were amazing. We enjoyed it so much we went back the next day and of course had to order the Shrimp and Grits, we got more friend shrimp, and the Angus Cheesburger all the way, and of course the requisite french fries. Everything was simply outstanding. I can't say enough about this spot. If you find yourself in Pine Mountain make sure you drop by the Corner. Very small place in a corner location in Pine Mountain, and IMO just about the best food in Pine Mountain (which is saying something as there are lots of decent restaurants there). Clean, friendly staff, and outstanding food with a Caribbean vibe. Best fried catfish I've had in Georgia! Their catfish and grits are amazing, perfect creamy cheese grits with corn meal breaded catfish on top. Shrimp and grits rocks, they have wonderful fried shrimp as an appetizer, and even manage to make slider burgers medium rare if you ask for it! Everything I've tried there has been delicious, the plantains, the ginger-beer, everything rocks. Always look forward to eating there. Service is super friendly and fast, and the decor and background music reminds me of the islands, and of my time in the Florida Keys. A great tropical island in the midst of rural Georgia. read more

This is a diamond in the rough. We were at Callaway Gardens, wife, youngest son and his family, including a 3 and 6 year old. Let me tell you that the service was great. Amanda treated us like she had know us her whole life. For a small place, the menu is pretty extensive. First off, the burgers are fantastic. They are hand patted and seasoned very well. They were just the right size and the bun was very good. A very good burger. My wife and son had the Fish and Grits, and first off, what a large portion you get. A large bowl of very tasty grits and two large pieces fo fresh fried fish. It was more than either of them could handle. Price wise, very good deal for what you get. I would recommend you try this eatery if you are in the area. It is very kid friendly and just a place to get some good food. read more

This is our family's first time visiting Callaway Gardens, so we wanted to try some local eateries. This was the absolute best dining experience. The food was delicious. Seasoned to Perfection! I had the shrimp platter and there was no half stepping with the size or the amount of shrimp. My husband had the shrimp and grits with fried grouper. My kids had burgers and they were far from ordinary. This spot is a "must try" Oh, I forgot about the cake......all I can say is don't forget the cake. You can take it to go and eat it later. The service was also awesome. I hate I forgot their names. I remember Tammy, but I cannot remember the lady's name who served us, but I will never forget her face! She was Awesome! read more

My wife and I drove down to Pine Mountain for lunch today to give EatZ on the Corner a try. We were very pleased and thoroughly enjoyed our food. I had Shrimp and Chicken day Stirfry and my wife had the Philly Burger with fries. For dessert we had the Carrot Cake. My wife says the burger was the best that she has ever had. I had the stirfry dish with curry added to kick it up a bit. If I went back tonight for dinner, I would order the same dish. Everything was spot on and Amanda our server was very pleasant, friendly and eagerly offered suggestion. This is a must stop when you near Pine Mountain, GA. It's worth the drive, we drove down from LaGrange and we will be going back soon and taking friends. read more

My husband and I were visiting Callaway Gardens this weekend and wanted to try an eatery outside the gardens. We picked Eatz on the Corner just by driving by the restaurant. Our dinner was FABULOUS!!!! I ordered a chicken salad with fried okra and steamed broccoli as the sides. My husband ordered the curry chicken. Our dinners were truly amazing -- the best we've ever had!!!! We will definitely be back to try the shrimp and grits -- a favorite. I came to Pine mountain for a vacation with my wife and we were looking for a good place to eat. We were directed to 'Eatz on the Corner.' We were pleasantly surprised. The food was extremely delicious. The server Amanda was very professional and made us feel welcome. We ordered the Caribbean Snapper and grilled shrimp. The fish was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The grilled shrimp was done just right and succulent. We also ordered some fried bananas they were awesome too. And the price was affordable. I can personally say that I have tried everything on the menu here. And everything is amazing. The smoothies are great. Cakes are home baked. Freshly cooked food. With a great variety. My personal favorite would be their shrimp and grits . They even have a back patio. Very peaceful nice breeze going through with a TV you can enjoy while eating. A friend and I spent the weekend in the area and were looking for a place to eat. We stopped in at EatZ On The Corner and it was amazing! There is a great variety on the menu and it was hard to choose what to eat. The waitress was very helpful. We both ended up getting different types of burgers. I got the cheesesteak burger and ate every bite. My mouth is watering right now thinking about it. I had hoped to save room for dessert. They had delicious homemade cakes and pies. One of my favorite places to eat in Pine Mountain, GA. I just love the unique spices they use on their Jerk Burger and I often finish it off with a Chocolate Milk Shake which is made with real ice cream and is thick and tasty. Tammy and Lorenzo create a comfortable, casual, family environment with excellent service and reasonable prices. The menu has quite a variety and on some holidays and special days they will add dishes such as the barbecue ribs that are some of the best ribs I have ever had. Great place, small and unassuming, but the service and food were amazing both times we went. I personally recommend the catfish and grits, lava fries, wings, roasted chicken, cakes, and apple bomb. (It's hard to go wrong here). But by far, what sets them apart is their service. After one person in my party didn't eat a part of his dish because he didn't like it, our waiter came out and asked us if anything was wrong with it. Picked this place solely on the Yelp reviews and we weren't disappointed. The waitress Brittany was AMAZING! My family has been in the restaurant business for over 20 years and she was one of the best I've seen. She made great recommendations and kept my tea glass full. I love this place. Have been 4 times in past week. Each time tried something different. Club sandwich, grilled shrimp, Salmon, salad, Onion Rings are light and seasoned perfectly. Deserts are made fresh. Today had Key Lime Pie that melted in my mouth. Service is exceptional. Amanda has served us several times and is AWESOME!!! American food with a twist! This was some of the best Caribbean style food I've had in a long time. The service was lovely and the food was awesome. The smoothies were phenomenal. We found this small eatery in Pine Mountain and was delighted.Our server was a cute, funny, witty, happy smiling young lady by the name of Brittany. She served us well, we also met the owner another delightful caring lady. The menu was a creative variety and selection in which to choose from and we all thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
