I called Eavers for assistance with my Ford Escape and was told to bring it in for a diagnosis. I was assured they would have an answer within an hour, but it ultimately took about seven hours. Their labor rate is $150 per hour, so timely and accurate communication about the status of the vehicle was especially important. The issue was determined to be the water pump, but the warranty claim was not submitted correctly, leaving me facing a $1,200 out-of-pocket expense. I explained that, as a mother of a medically complex child, coming up with that amount immediately would be difficult, but I could pay it within a week. I was assured that would not be a problem and that the vehicle would be ready by then. After having my car for approximately 2 1/2 weeks, I called to pay and was told the vehicle would be ready in 30 minutes. To give them extra time, I arrived two hours later. When I got there, they initially couldn't locate my file. Once they found it, no one could clearly explain the status of my vehicle. After asking to speak with someone else, I was informed that the repair had not even been started. The explanation given was that they had the wrong parts. Considering they had already had my vehicle for more than two weeks, this was extremely frustrating--especially after I had been told it would be ready that day. I asked whether the repair could at least be completed the following week, but was told they could not guarantee anything. I explained that this is my only vehicle and that I rely on it to get my daughter to her medical appointments at UVA. Rather than offering any solution, I felt as though I was being encouraged to take my business elsewhere as he dangled the keys in front of me. I have never had such a poor experience with a mechanic shop. Eavers used to have an excellent reputation, but my experience since the ownership change has been disappointing from start to finish. Charging $150 per hour creates an expectation of professionalism, communication, and efficiency that was simply not reflected in my experience. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE. We brought our vehicle in for a diagnostic inspection and were told the water pump and timing belt needed to be replaced. The shop submitted both repairs to our warranty company as a single claim instead of separate claims, which another repair shop later told us should have been done differently. We were also quoted a labor rate of $150 per hour, while the shop we ultimately moved the vehicle to charged $90 per hour. We repeatedly explained that we have a medically complex child and that reliable transportation is absolutely critical for our family. Despite that, our vehicle sat at the shop for nearly two weeks. When we called to check on the status of the repair, we were told the vehicle would be ready in 30 minutes. We arrived approximately two hours later, only to be informed that no work had actually been started. We explained that we could not simply drive the vehicle elsewhere because the repair was tied to the warranty process through their shop and asked what we were supposed to do. The response we received was unprofessional and dismissive. An employee literally dangled our keys in front of us and laughed. At that point, we had the vehicle transferred to another repair shop and will never return. After sharing our experience in a local Facebook group, multiple people reported having their own negative experiences with this business. While I cannot personally verify those accounts, the number of similar complaints was concerning. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this shop to anyone. Very sketchy folks work there. They are putting a bad name on Mr. Eavers. They try to tell you that parts are wrong when they are not.

Had a tire rotation at a different shop, started knocking when I left work a few days later. Eavers was close by so stopped in to see if they could look at it. It was the end of the day and I didn't expect that they would look at it the same day, but they did. They figured out that the lug nuts were loose on one tire and they tightened them and checked the rest of the tires. No charge, no appointment, and I was in and out in 15 minutes. read more

so I gave them a five star review on Google that was before I looked my car over after it was done after waiting there for several hours probably about six. They had left a hose on hooked my engine light was still on the heat I went to get looked at they did a diagnostic is flushed it and the driver side doesn't blow really hard or very hot. They were told to look over the car to make sure it was ready and safe. Have to go back to get them to recheck it and reevaluate and hook a hose up and dig a lil deeper into it and make sure she is road ready read more

I made an appt for an oil change & tire rotation for my 81 year old Mother who lives in the area, (I do not). What a shock when I went to file the receipt a week later. They had added a number of other things and the bill was over $600! No phone call. Just taking advantage of the 'sweet little ole lady", I guess. they over charged me by over 700 then when I went to get it towed to another shop they charged me to look at the vehicle when I told them what was wrong with I clearly told them not to do anything to the vehicle they said I owed for them to look at what was wrong with vehicle I know they never charge to look at the vehicl but today they decided to charge me to look at it and not just some small amount they charged a full hr of work when it only took them five mins since I already told them what was wrong they told me to never come back worst experience ever read more

I went in to have several parts installed on my truck. I was told that since I had supplied the parts they would add 50% to the labor rate. WHAT !! Then they told me (A retired GM Technician) that I did not know what I was driving and that there is not a transmission filter in my 15 GMC Sierra 5.3L. That tells me all about their knowledge. Maybe the GM brake pads and rotors I brought in to them to be replaced never made it on to my truck. I did contact the BBB and still they continue to LIE !!! read more

I ordered tires for my car (very good price) and set up an appointment for 8am and advised that I would wait. I received numerous texts and email reminders advising my appt was at 8am so I arrived early believing they had my vehicle actually scheduled at 8am. It is now after 9am and the car is still sitting where I parked it untouched. The desk staff has been pleasant but why have an appointment if it is meaningless? Unfortunately while I'm sitting here waiting, I'm not working so the great value for the tires starts to diminish. My fault that I did not read the reviews before "scheduling". I would rather they texted and emailed me that they were running late and could not get to the car at 8 and respected my time too. As an aside, my husband had used the Stuarts Draft location for his tires and waited for only an hour and was very pleased so maybe it's just this location. read more

Had a 7:30 am appointment to just check the brakes of my vehicle. Dropped it off the night before with my name and contact numbers to call with estimate before working on any needs. Called the morning of the appointment at 9 am to verify they had the vehicle. Said they would call once it was checked because it had not been done. 4pm rolls around and still no call and they close at 5. Called again and spoke to someone saying it was next in line. Verified it would be done that day before closing in an hour, the person said YES. 10 mins before closing still no call. Called them back and they said they were really busy and it would be done first thing the next day. Next day, 12pm still no call and car is in the same spot I parked it 2 days prior. My husband went inside to pick it up. The girl at the counter gave no explanation as to 1) why no one has called with at least an update 2) why nothing has been done If you have a scheduled appointment, I understand things happen but there was zero attempt for anyone to contact me or my husband to keep us informed and it sat there for over 28 hrs for this SCHEDULED appointment! There is a huge LACK of courtesy, professionalism, timely and effective communication all of which blatantly shows a lack of respect for their customers. read more

Had a 9:00 am appt today to have 4 tires put on and an alignment and was told it would be about 1 1/2 hours which is what I was expecting. Once they realized I had my own tires the wait time increased to 2 1/2 to 3 hours since I didn't buy from them and the mounting and balancing increased to $25.00 per tire on top of the $129.00 alignment, which is higher than anyone around. With the other hidden fees and taxes I was told it could be close to $300.00 overall. The "free alignment with purchase of four tires" is not really free when your tires and fees are higher than everyone else so essentially you're still paying for it. If I could give zero stars I would. Came in to see about getting an inspection and was told that they weren't able to that day, ok no big deal. The manager who was at the desk at the time asked if I could leave my vehicle or come back tomorrow. Specifically told him I could come in tomorrow, but not until the evening after work. He told me no problem, bring it in then and we will get you in! Awesome! Show up the next day right around the time I said I would be there, only to be told "sorry, we've done our max number of inspections today" and that it is better to come in early. Would have been great to have been told that to begin with. Annoying, but fine. This time I opted to leave my car with them so they could do the inspection the next day. Left my name and number and keys, after being told they would call when it was done, and went on my way. The next day comes and I never received a phone call, only to later find out they never even attempted to call the number I left them with to get in touch with me, instead called another number in their system not associated with my car. So finally, after finding out my car is indeed done we go to pick it up. Get inside, and since they never put my name or number in the system, they had to go through other search options to find me. Get everything found and paid for to walk out to my car and find a long crack in my windshield, with bird feathers scattered on my hood and windshield. So, go back inside to inform them of the damage for the manager to go from "surprised it could happen" to telling us they can hear the birds hitting the glass on the side of the building my car was parked on of the evenings and that they have even had to replace a shop window because the birds have hit the glass so hard... leaves me questioning then how my windshield being busted is such a surprise and why my car, or any car for that matter, would be parked near those windows??? The manager took our info and was supposed to reach out to his supervisor to see if or what could be done to help us. This was 4 days ago now and never received any communication back from him. Even after calling yesterday and leaving him alternate ways of reaching us and being told, by him, that he would call me back in "15-20 minutes". So long story short the negligence and lack of communication is infuriating and I will not be returning to this shop for any future needs! read more

We have a RoadTrek camper on a Dodge 1-ton van chassis. We needed tires, and Michelin no longer made the tire model I wanted in my size. I was insistent that I wanted Michelin, so Jake helped me pick out a different model. Alas, they were very noisy on the road. After only a few miles, I called Jake and he said "come back, we'll find something that works for you". Jake suggested that we try General Grabber HTS60. Eavers swapped out the set of four tires, and we are VERY HAPPY CAMPERS! These tires are quiet and the directional stability is SO much better than the two sets of Michelins that had been on the camper since new. This is a 1997 camper that we bought new, and it has always been very hard to drive in a crosswind, wandering badly. With these General tires, steering is rock solid and the camper is no longer a nail biter in the wind. Bonus: The Generals cost less than the Michelin. Thanks Jake. Thanks Eavers. I will never use this center again, waited all day for them to inspect my vehicle and they had a list of items that need fixed, they were getting "estimates" to have hundreds of dollars of work done to the vehicle, some of the most ridiculous issues I have ever heard of, couldn't' make this crap up. To any Dad that sends their daughter to this place to help them get confidence in business dealings, dont let them go here. Daughter went for a simple state inspection. She wanted to do it herself so I agreed. I thought after all the bad reviews this store has gotten that surely they would try to improve their ratings. Apparently not. A simple state inspection was gonna cost over $500. She had a leaking shock, mechanic told her she would have to replace both of them for $130 each and it would take two hours to do at $130 per hour service plus the $20 for state inspection. Rightfully so she called me upset I told her to pay the $20 inspection fee and take the "rejection". Long story short bought two shocks at Auto Zone for $80 ea and had them installed in 45 minutes. Cost $ hard lesson learned. This is clearly a case of female intimidation and I hope readers seriously considers this review before giving them your business. read more

I took my baby there 3 weeks ago to check price on 4 new tires and some extensive front end work. Took me in that day , told me what I needed scheduled me for the next day. They kept their word , were very friendly and professional and I trusted them. Good call on my part I was not let down , great service , fair price(cheaper than a few others) and were finished ahead of schedule! When I drove old vehicles that needed monthly service, Eavers always found the problems fast and fixed them at a low cost. I dropped my car off to have the power steering repaired.The front desk person told me when I picked up my car that it was just low on power steering fluid. I drove away from the parking lot and went 1/2 mile. and parked. The power steering fluid was pouring out of my car. The mechanic did not even check for a leak I took my car to a reputable mechanic and they replaced the high pressure line that was leaking. If this is the way they treat all their customers I do not know how they have any repeat customers. I will never go back and I work very close to them . read more
