Accommodations were average. Customer service was below unacceptable, when I called ahead and was treated so poorly while trying to finalize our plans, I requested to just be refunded. The so-called assistant manager "Rachel" said they could not cancel and refund. I would have to talk to BJ in the morning. So I called while trying to work (as a very busy nurse). He was, of course, unavailable. My message was never returned and the customer service desk was a continued shit sure throughout the stay. Snotty, rude office staff. Won't be back. I stayed here years ago. The experience was very different back then. Well just stick to renting a cabin or house, as I don't care to spend my money where I'm treated like shit. read more

Inexpensive, cozy, cordial, and scenic hotel by the ocean. I visited Seaside quiet from the tourism season, and this place was quite the cheap steal. I had the last room along the wing on the first floor facing the ocean: although small and old, the room had a great view and, frankly to my surprise, a fireplace. I enjoyed sitting by the window with the "partial view" next to the fireplace at night - the tranquility is surreal. Bear the price in mind when you approach this place. It is a budget hotel and by no means comparable to the other higher-end places in town, but for a much lower price, it offers great values. Breakfast has a range of munchies from fresh fruit to yogurt, coffee to milk, and some pastries. The room was equipped with TV, fridge, microwave, and coffeemaker. Parking spots were not lacking at all. However, the place was quite old; its facilities showed quite some marks of prolonged usage. Shower and sink had stains due to usage over time; only two outlets are available on the wall, quite inadequate for the number of electronics we carry nowadays. That's why I took a star off. If value is your priority, this is definitely the place for you! read more

Really great experience here!! I happened to stumble upon this hotel on Groupon. The beach is less than 5 mins away, I have a partial view from my room even! You can rent movies, they have taffy everywhere, cookies after 5pm and a really great breakfast. They had bacon, eggs, Apple cider, orange juice, potatoes... Really enjoyable! Not to mention how nice the people who work there are!! Adan, Chelsea and BJ are awesome. They are willing to help and you can tell that they want you to have a nice stay! Rooms are clean and have a fridge/microwave/tv and DVD player. The aquarium is literally right next door and really cool, you even get to feed seals. Would deff recommend this place for the price you can't go wrong! read more

I always wonder if people do their research before booking a hotel. I just got done reading a lot of the bad reviews and I just don't understand what people expect. Right now I am looking out onto the ocean from my third floor balcony. What a nice view. The rooms are large, beds are comfy, and the pillows are amazing. Yes, they need to work on their breakfast, but a few of the hotels that are in Seaside have the same type of breakfast. Muffins, juice and coffee. The fireplace was nice and the pool seemed clean. The hot tub was hot, very hot felt good after a long day of walking around and playing on the beach. There are just one thing I though could be a little better. The T.V. in the room needs to be places in better location. It's a little hard to see if you sleeping in the bed next to the bathroom. Other than that, it was a nice place to stay. Yes the outside needs a little updating, but it was nice overall. Come on people relax and enjoy your stay when your at the beach. read more

We booked our hotel stay with Groupon for $67, and I'm glad we did! It was just so close to the beach! Just a mere 30 seconds and you can feel the soft white sand, breathe in the fresh beach air, admire the view, and just stay there for the entire day! Ebb-Tide's bathroom is a bit small though. Usually the sink is located inside where the shower and toilet is, not in this specific room. They have towels and some shower essentials. After a night out on the beach, we had back in and went straight to bed! The pillow is soft (I really am tempted to take one home with me)! The bed is comfortable! My sleep was amazing. No unruly neighbors. I guess because its off-season. I also want to add that their breakfast consists of muffin, cheese danish, coffee, fruit juices, and some fruits. Nothing really special. If you want high class breakfast you can go to downtown which is only a 5 minute or so walk. All in all, it was a great stay! Oh, you can hear the seagulls and the beach waves from our room, which I think is nice and relaxing. But some people think its distracting. So if you're that kind of person, don't stay here you'll just ruin it for everybody. Have a great stay in Seaside! read more

This hotel was clean, the staff was friendly, it was right by the beach, and our dog got to stay there. I read that someone said the wifi cost money? It was free, I just had to call the front desk for the password. People complained that the fixtures were outdated. Well it's an old hotel, and at the prices they are charging, they may not be able to update as quickly as some other places. You get what you pay for. If you want updated fixtures then you should be willing to spend more than $80 dollars a night. There's a general misconception that people should be treated like queens and kings even when they get bargain prices. Get over yourself. read more

Paid extra - 130 for a king room with "partial ocean view". Room is at the first floor and has a partial view of the road and the truck parked outside. This room should not be advertised as an "ocean view" room. Totally disappointed by this false advertising! Fireplace was not working when we arrived but maintenance fixed it real quick. I absolutely love this place. It's not fancy and the building looks a little old from the outside but our accommodations were fantastic. This is our second time staying here and we will keep on returning. When we made the reservation we told them that we will be bringing our elderly dog who now has some mobility issues. They gave us a ground floor room just steps away from the grassy area where the dogs can go. It made it so much easier for our dog. We love the oceanfront and even though we were told we had a partial view, we could see the ocean quite well. The room was very clean, modern and comfortable with a kitchenette that has a microwave, mini fridge and sink. There was also a single cup Keurig unit and coffee and tea included. The lemon scented toiletries in the bathroom were very nice, too. The included breakfast is more than adequate with a selection of Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches, muffins, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, fresh fruit, cold cereal, instant oatmeal bowls, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, coffee, juice and milk. They also have a variety of warm cookies in the lobby at 6PM and hot coffee any time. The pool and hot tub are old but very clean and I felt very comfortable using them. We enjoyed watching people go by on the promenade. This inn is walking distance to all of the shops and restaurants. And it is literally right next door to the aquarium which is small but a lot of fun. Be prepared to get splashed if you feed the resident harbor seals! I'm looking forward to returning. read more

But the gentlemen was friendly enough for the both of them. 2 light bulbs were out in our room and the fireplace didn't work. When we asked for maintenance to take a look the next morning they left the old light bulb and dirty towels on the bed. Gross To top it off they didn't wash any dishes, didn't make the beds or clean the bathroom. The pool and jacuzzi were dirty and slimy. Completely outdated outside and in and the complimentary breakfast was pathetic. Some bananas yogurt and prepackaged pastries. Upside: our ocean view room was beautiful and the wifi worked. This is a great place to stay. Real flatware in the drawers, fluffy pillows, clean, friendly, short distance from main drag. This hotel improves each time I visit. They really care about your stay here. The breakfast is a cold breakfast but without an industrial kitchen that's the option you have. There are other hotels and inns in this area that serve relatively similar breakfast. It's not the ritz, but then again that's not what I paid for either :) plus there are so many great places to grab breakfast or coffee within walking distance. read more

Let me start with the positive, as I really do want to say this place has real potential. I would not say I would not stay here again. 1. The staff were extremely friendly and did everything they could to make the stay pleasant. There were issues, and they always tried to fix them. 2. The pool was a nice, warm temperature and is only open to adults after 10 PM. I love kids, but it is nice to have an hour to swim without being surrounded by children yelling, splashing and carrying on. 3. The continental breakfast was satisfying... mostly. I do not look for gourmet eats with hotel breakfast, so I am not saying it was excellent. My only real complaint is that they were out of half of the juices. 4. Though the rooms had no balconies and many do not look out on the ocean, they had small kitchenettes, gas fireplaces, dvd players (with a reasonable selection available for viewing in the office) and mini-fridges. 5. The place is not a luxury resort, but it was comfortable for those on a budget. Now for the negatives. 1. The place is badly in need a maintenance/remodeling. When my lady was checking us in, and when she was checking us out, there were other patrons that needed to switch rooms. 2. We had to switch rooms as the first one we were in had a non-functioning fireplace. Again, the staff was friendly and helpful and gave us a better one. 3. All of the outlets in the new room were loose. This is a safety issue, but as a person on a CPAP it was also very problematic as the plug kept slipping out. Maintenance could not find an extension cord for me and it was late enough that all of the stores were closed. 4. The beds do not have comforters. 5. The room was non-smoking but reeked like cigarettes and smelled musty. The Ebb Tide is a nice little resort right on the Prom, with easy access to the beach, aquarium, and Broadway Street with shops, restaurants, and more. Rooms are large and spacious, with numerous different configurations and conveniences to accommodate any need. Although older, continuous updates keep it feeling fresh and new, including a new breakfast room. Complimentary breakfast in the morning and warm cookies at night, plus many other niceties and a friendly and accommodating staff really make this a great place. read more

There was some peeling paint and whatnot, but considering it's on the beachfront of a sea salt beach, it seemed what would be normal sea salt wear and tear. I would recommend staying elsewhere. My wife booked a surprise 2 night 3 day trip here for a fun get away. When we arrived I was checking the bed and noticed a blood stain. Called down to the front desk and asked for new sheets. Once changed they had black marks on them but I didn't want to call again. The carpet was stained every where. Holes in the walls and ceiling. Light switch covers were broken and falling off (come on those are a cheap easy fix) and our thermostat was broken. There was heat that wouldn't shut off but no A/C. We woke up sweating the first night because of how hot our room was (we didn't even have the heat on, yet it was still coming out of the baseboard) like I said no A/C so we just had a fan blasting all night, we also opened the window but there's no screen in it and with a toddler we didn't feel comfortable leaving it open. We slept horrible and on the second night ended up checking out at 11 because of how gross everything was, and how hot our room was. We stay at Seaside often and regularly like to check out other hotels to support all the local businesses. But this is one I don't recommend. read more

The price was low and the view was good although people on the second and 1st floor with an ocean view would have just seen sand and tall grass on a beach hill. I would have been mad if I paid for that view The shower had good pressure and hot water but the head was anchored pointing to the shower wall (I assume to prevent water coming out of the tub area) and that made showering odd The bed was pretty uncomfortable and the pillows were good. The location is perfect. However I would like to warn travelers that have physical challenges, and are elderly. This facility is not for you. There is no elevator. We stayed in a king size room, and the bed is extremely high and rather lumpy. I'm 5.3 and I literally had to climb to get into bed, and it was hard to get comfortable. The tub and toilet area is very tight. Taking a shower is rather challenging and a new shower head would be a welcome replacement. There are no grab bars. The two upholstered chairs in the room need replacement. The room itself is spacious, and the staff is friendly. It's a pet friendly hotel, and they provide additional pet sheets, bowl, and towels. read more

The amenities and rooms are not tops- if you cannot overlook dirty walls, broken cabinets and slow drains, etc, dont stay here -but the staff is excellent! Seriously, they do as much as possible. Alicia, Rocky and Michelle especially have made sure that the Gabbard family reunion (we have been coming for 30+ years) is as comfortable as possible, and they will work with you to make sure your stay is the best. This hotel is in desperate need of an update. It's overpriced. We had an excellent view of the ocean however there was a screen missing and the room was very stuffy without the window opened. Also in the bathroom the toilets really need a good pumice stone cleaning and the bathtub grout could be redone. Navigating between hot and cold in the shower was a challenge to say the least. Lovely front desk staff helpful welcoming. Room was immaculate and the view was soectacular. You are right on the beach and can walk to all the great cafes and stores as well. clean and lovely. I have stayed in the best hotels in the world and some of the worse. I can say that there is obviously care taken in keeping the rooms welcoming and immaculate great cleaning service. . It's very family friendly as well as romantic for couples. I plan on going back this winter. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. read more

I got there early and was hoping to get a room sooner than the 4:00 check in, but didn't get called until 4:30 that a room was ready. The staff is very nice and the room was very clean EXCEPT the awful carpet. There were so many stains and it was REALLY old. I had to have the maintenance man come fix the fireplace and then had to have him come back because it wouldn't turn off. I got a room with a partial view, and a balcony, but you can't see the view sitting down. Either they need taller chairs or shorter partitions. It needs some serious updating. read more

This was a very disappointing experience. When I booked the hotel the pictures showed very clean and spacious rooms. When we arrived, the outside of the facility was very dirty and not appealing at all. The carpets throughout the whole building were dirty. The bathroom sink was plugged and so was the toilet. It had a very weird and musty odor. The walls are very thin and I could hear when someone in the next room took a shower. Not a good experience at all for the price they charge. OK I don't normally do this but I am so incredibly disappointed with this hotel we are spending $190 a night to stay here I understand it's spring break and it does have an ocean view but the room is completely rundown! The TV remotes hardly work the telephone doesn't work the Paint in the bathtub is coming off of the bottom the shower was so hot when I turned it On it literally scolded the front of my body I took a picture. I called this morning to ask for some more towels because our teenage girls used all the towels expectedly so they are teenagers not to mention we only had three to begin with! When I called to the front desk on my cell phone because the phone doesn't work in the room the lady proceeded to tell me that they will bring more towels at turndown service and so I said OK so we're not allowed to take showers until turn down service we would also like some towels in another blanket and she gave me attitude I couldn't even believe it we will never stay here again and I will not be recommending this to anybody and I will be telling everyone I know too! read more

This was a ladies getaway. The location was good and the views of the ocean nice. It was clean and the beds comfortable. But, the toilet ran all night. The room wasn't ready till 5:30 and they failed to call as promised when it was ready. The walk to the beach is long over sand dunes and beach grass. If I could give this "resort" zero stars, I would. We stayed at Ebb tide this last weekend 9/20/14 after looking for a seaside hotel near the water. I found Ebb Tides website (ebbtideseaside.com), and was impressed by the photo's of the rooms, and the listed amenities. Thus, we booked a room for a one night stay. When we checked in to our room, I was astonished that I had just paid over $150 for what I saw. The room is NOTHING as pictured. The furniture, linens, paint on the walls.... It was a completely different scenario. The "Room Features" listed on their website stated there would be a kitchenette with stove top, microwave, cookware, and tableware. There also was a kitchenette in one of the photos of the room. We came prepared with breakfast to make, and there was no such kitchenette. There was a mini fridge, micro, and coffee maker, and thats it. No stove top. As far as cookware, there was ONE coffee cup. They could have at the very least left two, so that we could have both enjoyed coffee in the morning. The entire "resort" is very dated, and needs an extreme makeover. Also, It was an 85 degree day on the beach - which granted is odd for Oregon - however there was no A/C and not even screens on the windows. Bugs were all over the outside of the windows, so we couldnt even sleep with the windows open to let the cool ocean air in the scorching room. I'm leaving a review so that you who are looking for a place to stay are aware that this company provides FALSE ADVERTISING, and poor customer service. We only stayed at Ebb Tide because by the time we checked in, all other hotels in the surrounding area were already booked. At check out, we made it very clear to the front desk that we were extremely disappointed with their false advertising, and the lady actually laughed; stated that they have been getting "alot of that lately" and that they plan to do a remodel in the near future - and that the photos on the ebbtideseaside.com are ACTUALLY OF A SISTER HOTEL!!!!! read more

My fiance and I usually book a room at Cannon Beach every 4 months or so. This time we decided to change it up a bit and decided to stay here for 2 nights 3 days. With all the bad reviews I was kind of iffy, but decided to give it a shot since we were really paying for the ocean front view and it was right on the boardwalk & super close to the shopping strip/restaurants. First impressions: 1. Parking lot was ok. 2. The office doesn't allow dogs (i assume it's due to the serving the food in the morning) 3. They were ok nice. If you had questions they seemed to be slight annoyed/rude when they answered. 4. On the way to finding our room 302 (on the very top floor) it kinda seems a little outdated due to the carpeted stairs and hall (plus the building was lopsided- you noticed it more when you walk over by the stairs near the elevator). 5. Entering the room - again outdated but the view was amazing. The windows didn't have any screens on them which could be good/bad depending on if small bugs flying in bothered you or not. My fiance didn't care but I on the other hand did though I enjoyed leaning out the window to take in the ocean air and the view. To be honest we would have stayed here again due to the view and the convinces of being near the strip but on the last night we took nap and woke up to no power in our room, call to front desk and they spent a good 45 mins trying to fix it. Finally they transfered us to a bigger room. Yes it was a big inconvenience/ annoying that we had to pack up and move our stuff. Plus we had to throw away all our food. The room they transfered us to was slightly bigger since it had another queen bed. 6. Asked front desk if they had paper plates the guy was nice and looked but the female laughed and said no but they do have some at the store. Wow, okay thanks for the customer service. I just assumed they would have some since they have paper cups, plastic spoons, forks, and knives.... 7. When checking out we got charged double for the pet fee. Didn't get an apology for the inconvenience of the power outage or any compensation for the trouble waiting almost an hour while ppl went in & out of your room several times and then having to move. I get its not something they can predict or control, but a simple smile and apology wouldn't hurt. 8. On the way to check out we saw a bed bug, roach, ant insect truck parked with a worker getting his stuff.... so that just sealed the deal completely. read more
