I have read some really mean reviews about this place complaining about the outdated fixtures, building and even service. If you. Know that is an older hotel, you should expect it to be outdated and maybe look for cleanliness, comfort. Well I think for an older hotel this place is a great value for the price This is an ocean front property. Great location right at the beach. Also it is only a couple of blocks from Broadway were allthe restaurants and stores are located Rooms are spacious,clean, and comfortable. Great beds, the fireplace is nice for a cool night. We got a partial oceanview room and it was a great view. The rooms and building are outdated? Yes, but they are clean and comfortable. We got a really big room with two queen beds and a sofa in front of the fireplace. Huge bathroom double sink and a regular bathtub. I think from what I saw on seaside most hotels are not brand new. Maybe are some remodeled, but still they are older buildings so I do not know why people keep complaining about the hotel being outdated Breakfast was very simple and basic. Cereal , yogurt, muffins, fruit, coffee. Staff was friendly and courteous. When I asked about Echols state park. Front desk person google it and printed directions for me Overall a great stay. A solid 3 stars. It's long in the tooth, and the spring-y bathroom makes me wonder if there's dry rot. Obvious "deferred maintenance" noted by other reviewers -- I can only imagine how difficult that is given Oregon coastal weather. But. The front desk staff is very friendly and thoughtful.....the view/location is great....the bed and pillows were actually pretty comfy.....housekeeping staff did a fine job (clean towels/sheets, room aired out and pleasant, fireplace left on for us so things were cozy). The other thing I like: the management personally reads/responds to Yelp reviews -- I think all of them -- which tells me this hotel is trying to do their best. read more

Checked in for one night. Great deal for being so close to the beach, and they gladly took dogs. Room was basic king, but had stovetop, mini fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and dishes. I was very surprised and impressed. There was also gas fireplace, and dvd player. Many amenities. We enjoyed the pool and hottub, and short walk to the beach. I do wish the beds were a bit more comfortable, and my room did have a weird musky odor, though not terrible. Dollar for dollar, a great experience. Would definitely come back. read more

2 night stay, end of July. Not my favorite place we have ever stayed at. :/ Aside from being extremely outdated, which I could've lived with, the furniture was really beat up and the TV in the back bedroom didn't work at all. [No signal.] In fairness I also didn't call to have them fix it as we have our cat with us this time (long story) so I didn't want him to get out of the guy came by and we weren't here. The place seems clean except the carpet (yuck, please replace!!!) and the electric cooktop a la 1965. Maids were nice and helpful too. I appreciated that they didn't go in when I put the privacy hanger out - which is a surprisingly common problem. Pool was clean but being aqua socks or deck shoes if you plan on walking around it. Cement is old and needs to be fixed. The indoor pool is kept warm. There's also a hot tub. The breakfast was hearty and fairly comprehensive including some lighter choices but the huge tray of fried eggs was strange - they should do them scrambled. I thought the potatoes were ick. The kids loved it. It's a zoo though; my advice is to arrive early. Their facilities are maxed out. Too small for the number of people. Parking is a bit ridiculous. Very hard to find a spot after checkin time. The very worst feature though is the lack of a balcony at an ocean front hotel and no screens on the windows either. It gets stuffy with the windows closed but if you have a pet you don't want them open. Bottom line: there are nicer places on oregon beaches for the same price point. read more

This is our second visit to seaside and we are so happy we found this place! Dog friendly was a must for us. It's not a new hotel but most here arent, but they more than make up for that with great customer service! Check in was easy, parking availability was explained as well as where the pool and breakfast was. Accommodations were spacious, breakfast and 7 p.m. cookies were great too. Was pleasantly surprised by the "partial view" listing, was more than I expected. Walking distance to both the beach, aquarium, and shops. We will definitely be back! read more

We did a quick overnight trip to the beach and stayed at Ebb Tide. The rooms were clean, great front desk service, the hotel is right on the beach and, nice breakfast. I'll definitely stay there again on my next trip to the beach. read more

This is a lovely pet-friendly hotel right on the Seaside promenade. It's cozy, if a bit older, and well maintained. The staff were all very friendly (shout-out to Marie who loved our corgi of the same name), and we felt all of our needs were addressed. The pet fee is low and not only provides special towels and sheets just for furry friends, but a percentage is donated to the local humane society. The best part of our stay was the view and the proximity to the beach. We could hear waves crashing and see the full expanse of the shore, and the beach was literally a stone's throw away, just on the other side of the sidewalk. Oh, and salt water taffy is handed out to guests in the rooms and at the front desk. Love it. I would definitely stay here again. It's not the height of luxury, but it was comfortable and reasonably priced. read more

I booked this place for a last minute trip. Overall, it was okay for my 2 day trip. The place offered free breakfast which was lovely especially during the winter season when most of the places were closed. The upside was the whole town felt like my own very private paradise and I saved money from not buying too much stuff. Oh, it's a pet friendly place to boot, very reasonable pet fee with a welcoming basket. There were cons though; the sheets smelled like it's been slept in and the shower drain was really slow to drain. read more

Gosh, these reviews are pretty bad - BUT, I can honestly say that our stay here was as expected and just fine. This place is located right off the water in the little town of Seaside and you're really paying for location. It's right on the beach. Are the rooms outdated? Yes. Are they horrible? No. Are they clean? Yes. And, to me, that's what matters when I am staying in a town where I know I will be out and about and not sitting in my room the whole time anyway. The staff was very friendly and helpful when we checked in and when we checked out. The room was outdated - yes, but it wasn't horrendous and it was clean and functional and the bed was comfortable enough. There was some signage on the wall outside our room asking guests to excuse their mess while they remodel, so perhaps they are trying to improve. They have an indoor pool and hot tub as well and both appeared to be clean and well-maintained. The breakfast in the morning was as described both online when I booked the room and also by the staff at check-in. it's a LIGHT continental breakfast. The day that we were there, they served Otis Spunkmeyer cheese danishes (pre-packaged), fruit, yogurt, coffee and juice. Overall, I would stay here again. The nice thing about this place is there is no minimums on the nights you stay. If you go towards Cannon Beach or Astoria, there is a 2 night minimum stay during the peak months - but not here. And for someone who was just passing through, like myself, I appreciated that. read more

Sooo....keep in mind that this isnt a new place.. you can tell its been around. Old decor, and buildings. So, we needed a place last minute that was pet friendly. Ebb tide to the rescue. Small pet fee. Low rate. Right next to thw aquarium, and on the walkway. Right on the beach too. Great for pets with nice upkeep grass. My dog cant do its business without a good grass. Spoiled rat. Very friendly staff. Breakfast is hotel breakfast. Not great, but itll get you full for free. They sell firewood, a smores kits. Wi-Fi is good. Indoor heated pool, jacuzzi, and suana. Microwave, full size mini fridge, and sink in room. Gas fireplace too. And fan in room when it got hot during the day. They provided a pet basket with a couple poop bags, towels for dogs, dog dish and sheets for them. More than any hotel ever has done. Great on them. Plenty of parking if you drive around but it was close to everything that my dog, 8 year old didnt get tired. Short walk to all the fun on the prom. Loved our stay here. If you want higher end, your gonma spend money for it. Ebb Tide is great. A great personal touch i haven't experienced with other places and had all the amenities needed for a great first trip to Seaside. Will be back again. read more

We rented three rooms for our families to stay in for Labor Day weekend. All three rooms were filthy, through Covid mind you. We've stayed at MANY places since Covid, they were the only one that doesn't leave all the kitchen stuff in the kitchens, you have to ask, which I wasn't going to because check in was horrific, they rude. One room on the third floor had NO screens, safety issue! One room the fireplace didn't work. The breeze ways were filthy, not just with sand but grime, it was gross. This hotel is horrific! Opened cutting board crumbs still on it! We have oceanfront view but cannot see the view. The windows are filthy and the screen has mildew growing all over it. The fireplace doesn't work. The sauna didn't have any lighting and there weren't any towels for the pool. False advertising with pictures on the website. One portion of the hotel has been renovated. Will NEVER stay here again. If I thought I could get my $$$ back I would. Don't stay here. Look for a place with better reviews. read more

This place is trashy and has terrible customer service. I tried calling for days to book a reservation after my last stay, which was also terrible (hair on the sheets, stains on the table, etc.). In lieu of a refund, they offered another night free (only to be used Monday-Thursday of course). I tried to book it by calling, but they never answered their phones. I emailed them, and they never responded. I actually went by the motel when I got to town, thinking they may have closed their doors. Nope. Some dude was at the check in desk just straight not answering the ringing phone. I'm done. After a decade of staying here yearly for vacation, I've found that the places surrounding it have improved and dropped their rates in the off season. I stayed here last week in the bldg that is behind the lobby and it was great. It was clean, and the furnishings were in good condition. The room we are staying in this weekend is 103, do not stay in this one, the room was not clean, toilet had hairs, the remote controls were missing the backs and had painter's tape on the backs that didn't hold the batteries in place. The furnishings were old and need to be thrown out. The phone had gunk in it, the fans were dusty and were disgusting. They didnt have any other rooms available so we were stuck with this room. I would stay here again just not in this room. read more

This is my very first review here but this place was so bad that I didn't want people to be taken in by the view. This place was horrible! Pros: The view and the staff. We​ had two bedrooms Cons: The place was very dirty, smelled, ​with old stain​​s. I took a washcloth and cleaned one stain just to be sure it was cleanable. The sheets smelled odd. There was food left in the freezer. It was unsafe. The lock from the inside was removed​ and no operating deadlock bolt lock it from the inside. This is not a place for young kids as it takes just a slight turn of the door to open it. The gas fireplace​​​ has a mesh screen that you can't​ close all the way. There​ were no safety screens on any of the windows​! Even the ones 3 stories up facing the beach. The front bedroom facing the walkway​ has no screen and the curtains don't close all the way. There was a box fan placed in one of the rooms but the only place to put it so that everyone in the room could feel it was right in front of the TV. So choose heat or TV? Maybe go check out that view of the beach to cool off(insert sarcasm) It's not a matter of how old this place is but the day to day upkeep that could help it looking less that​ way. They also said they were currently​ doing an ​upgrade but why won't​ they let maintenance​​/or cleaning staff​ handle​ the small issues in the existing​​ room like putting locks on the door or deep cleaning the rooms. It's like saying, you have two bathrooms in your home and upgrading one, ​you can just let the other look like crap and tell the ​guests​ about​ the upgrade to the other. There is no logic in that. I think the hotel is hoping people will look at the advertised view and not the actual room. And I've noticed from other reviews​ that someone from the hotel​ will send template messages that stated how sorry they are about your disappointing​ stay or mention the upgrades. Well to that person just stop sending that fake insincere​ reply and​ fix it! You waste your time sending those replies​, instead relay that message to the corporation that owns the place. And for heaven's​ sake stop going on and on about the view and showing those old pictures of the hotel!​ Yadda​ yadda​,yadda I'm not sleeping on the beach but in your hotel which sucks. read more

We didn't have a choice since so many ppl were leaving smoke filled parts of the state to breathe fresh air on the coast but I honestly wanted to drive back to Portland and face a fiery inferno rather than stay in this room but my husband said I was being a snob. The staff was working hard under extreme circumstances. I haven nothing unpleasant to say about them but who ever owns this place just hasn't put a single dollar into making it nice. It looks like they have done some siding replacement probably out of extreme necessity. The room was worn down, ugly and stinky. The whole place needs to be gutted and redone. The rooms were clean and housekeeping did a very good job. They advertise a buffet breakfast very disappointed in the breakfast. When I think of a buffet breakfast it offers waffles, scrambles/omelettes, bacon, etc... But this was a grab and go not even tables and chairs to eat your breakfast. I got a great deal on groupon. Loved the ocean view room. I stayed 3 nights. Only one night had crazy party guys above me that stayed up late. The other 2 nights were quiet and relaxing. I brought my dog who received a doggie basket with treats, bowl, sheets, and her own towel. Liked that there was even a dog wash station outside to rinse the sand off of her. My boyfriend and I have stayed here four times within the past year. The first two times was great but it's only been downhill since then. The third time, we asked for a bassinet/rollaway crib in our reservation that is shown to be offered by the hotel for our daughter. The people in the front office seemed to have no idea what we were talking about and when they finally caught on, said they would have to find one. Also the fireplace was broken - it would not turn on. This last time, the room was alright (the fireplace worked) but the comforter was stained. Also the refrigerator did not work, which we didn't realize until after the brand new bottle of formula we brought for our daughter had gone bad! It was either turned off while the room wasn't in use and just never turned on or it was broken. Either way, an entire bottle of baby formula was ruined and our daughter cried almost all night until Safeway opened the next morning. When we told the front desk, they weren't apologetic at all and said there was "nothing we can do". Won't be staying here again! read more

Older hotel. Very worn. 3 stories, no elevator. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. The hook on the bathroom door was broken off. The chain on the door was broken off. No air conditioner but they do provide a fan. There were lots of people there but it was pretty quiet. Front staff were not very friendly. It did have a fireplace which we didn't use. We had an ocean view but it was during the fires so couldn't see it. Their water pressure is awesome and they left us a bag of taffy. Would not stay here again. Oceanfront view is not worth it when you have bird poop all over the window, black substance growing in between the window pain and the walls are brown, not from paint. There was a stain on our sheet and literal shit on the toilet. The oceanfront view sounds great but the rooms are filthy and not maintained at all. Pictures online do not look anything like the actually rooms. Luckily the office staff was very polite and helpful when we requested a full refund and check out shortly after check in. They offered an upgrade as well but at that point my boyfriend and I just wanted out. Ended up staying at comfort inn and suites with a river view. Did not miss the ocean view at all. read more

Our favorite hotel in Seaside. The outside is deceiving, however the rooms are nice every time we stay. Always a beautiful view! Only negatives this time was our fireplace didn't work, our tub was slow draining, and the fan in the bathroom made a horrible ruckus. Didn't ruin our stay though! Will be back again! read more

Seaside is my favorite place to visit. I go at least once a year. This was my 2nd time this year, and I was surprised to find such a good deal around Black Friday for an oceanfront room! I felt like I got a steal at $48/night. I booked for two nights with my boyfriend. We arrived and the front desk was very polite. They quickly got us checked in. We had the option of having two queens side by side, or a room where the beds were separate. We thought the latter option sounded interesting, so we went with the separate beds. We were given room 303. On our way to our room I stopped by the pool area, but I saw a large tarp blocking the door. I was bummed, and just proceeded to our room. The moment I stepped in the room, I was honestly shocked. It looked nothing like the pictures I saw online. The room looked very outdated, but I can deal with that. So I further inspected, as I always do when I stay at a hotel, for cleanliness and the like. Taffy was left by the pillow which was a very nice (and tasty) touch, along with a card stating who prepped our room for us (Margarita, if I remember correctly). As I looked around the room, and the more and more time I spent in our room, the more things I noticed. Wallpaper peeling, markings on the wall, dust on every surface, busted and rusted baseboards, the entertainment/tv stand drawers all had huge water stains/damage, mold around the windows with moisture getting in, missing a screen on the window, the bathroom vanity light took ages to turn on at nighttime, a large splatter of some unknown substance on the separate bedroom door... It was a nightmare. Thankfully the beds were clean, so I didn't need to worry about that at minimum. I spent $48 for this room...and I felt like the quality was exactly right at $48. If we paid full price, I would have been FURIOUS. We went out for a bite and games (Funland is amazing), and stayed in for the night. I opened the window so I could hear the waves crashing outside (I LOVED the view). I heard the sound of the ocean...along with a horrid banging rattling sound. After a while I got up and realized our room door was kind of loose, which caused it to violently rattle and bang around if the window was open. I had to prop a chair against the door because of this. Later, I cranked on our gas fireplace (which I did actually enjoy). It has a 30 minute timer but it wasn't a huge deal to get up and turn it back on if needed. I did use the baseboards a few times but I was honestly worried of a fire hazard because of the condition they were in. It was pretty stormy when we went (Dec 9 - 11), so wind was blowing really hard along with the rain. I love storms, however the fireplace would make this extremely loud whistling all night. That was pretty annoying. The bed in the main living room area was very uncomfortable. Usually hotel beds are a nice little luxury, but this one made me miss my own bed. It looked like it maybe at some point was a pillow top, but it lost all of that extra cushion. It felt too firm and like I was hitting springs. Pillows were nice and fluffy, but not too soft. After tossing and turning, we both got up and eventually switched to the separate bedroom. This room was extremely quiet. It was nice to have some peace and quiet finally. The window in this bedroom faces the corridors...so much for any privacy there. We kept the curtains shut the entire time, day and night. That bed seemed less broken in though, and there was a TV in there as well. We watched TV and finally were able to sleep at around 7AM. Around 10AM, I heard lots of loud chatting, laughing, etc. right outside. Then I heard vacuuming. How I love getting woken up by housekeeping. They were the loudest bunch I've ever heard. I heard some glass break across the hall accompanied by a loud yelp and more chatter. How is this respectful? I just got out of bed because of how obnoxious it was. I only got 3 hours of sleep, and now this? After spending some time with my family in their hotel, we came back and my boyfriend mentioned that he heard children laughing and playing in what sounded like the pool area. We looked but the tarp was still blocking. Oh well. He later noticed wet footprints and decided to just go step inside. That tarp I mentioned? It was just hanging in front of the door from the construction stuff. No one decided it was worth moving apparently. What does this say about this hotel? We went to the pool the 2nd night and I was blown away. The pool was heated, the hot tub was the best hot tub I've been in. It was amazing. That alone deserved a star. I wish the rest of the hotel was up to this standard. It would have not been a terrible stay. I saw a staff member come in and didn't do anything about the obstructing tarp covering the entrance... This tells me they just don't care about this place. I shouldn't have to move aside a tarp to access a place. I ended up leaving earlier than planned at 3 in the morning. I'll never stay here again. read more

Best management and service. I go to the Oregon Coast ALOT and have stayed in so many different places since the mid 1990's. There are many great options but I've been staying at the Ebb Tide about 3-4 times a year now because of excellent and friendly service. read more

This older hotel is getting a facelift, but we were extremely happy with our experience. The staff were incredibly warm and accommodating, and nothing beats the location! Ah, the Ebb Tide. Location alone is worth three stars, but I've dished out a duo of stars. The place is a great location and has all the minimums to make a family trip to Oregon acceptable. Accommodations were fine - even had steady wifi (no streaming success, but connectivity) - so why two stars? It was pretty warm when we visited and my room was miserably hot. Apparently The partial view rooms have a singular sliding glass door and get HOT in the summer. The advice I was given by the front desk was to leave the front door open into the rest of the hotel hallway overnight... umm no way. No other options I guess, but it was miserably hot and I will not be back. read more

Accommodations were average. Customer service was below unacceptable, when I called ahead and was treated so poorly while trying to finalize our plans, I requested to just be refunded. The so-called assistant manager "Rachel" said they could not cancel and refund. I would have to talk to BJ in the morning. So I called while trying to work (as a very busy nurse). He was, of course, unavailable. My message was never returned and the customer service desk was a continued shit sure throughout the stay. Snotty, rude office staff. Won't be back. I stayed here years ago. The experience was very different back then. Well just stick to renting a cabin or house, as I don't care to spend my money where I'm treated like shit. read more

Location was great. (5 star) customer service was good. (4 star) rooms were ok(3 star) cleanliness was bad (2 star) I really wanted to like this place because it is cheap, close to everything and 5 minutes away from the beach. I LOVED that they provided cookies from 7pm-10pm every night. breakfast was descent with bread choices, waffles, danishes, fruit (apples, pears, grapefruit,banana, orange), yogurts and cereals... the only downfall, which is a big one, is the cleanliness of everything. There was a dirty rag on the floor when we first walked into the room, then my 2 year old nephew spilled cereal the first night we were there in the hallway and I noticed it was never cleaned up when we checked out 3 days later. What turned me off the most was my mother in law had found dirty socks under her bed (when we were checking out along with a watch) which lead me to go check under our bed and that's when I found a couple granola bars and food under our bed that I didn't know was there the whole time! made me question how well everything else was cleaned. Despite the room cleanliness the breakfast room was spotless and the pool had clean towels and was kept up great too. read more
