Even though we selected a non-ocean-view room, we had a peak of the sand from our first floor. A very comfortable bed and pillows along with a small kitchen and a fireplace! We enjoyed the room. This Oceanfront Inn was just what we needed for our get away. To start our stay, the staff were SUPER friendly and welcoming. This Inn is very pet friendly, so they also gave us a basket to tend to some doggy needs (dog bowl, treats, dog towels, dog bed sheet). This came in handy as we brought dogs and forgot a bowl! The partial oceanfront view was true to the pictures. But exceeded my expectations still. It was fun to be able to see the ocean and also see all the dogs heading out. The kitchen comes with a small stash of silverware, pots and pans, toaster, salt and pepper, coffee, and little necessities. Our fireplace didn't work unfortunately, so that would have been cute/nice to have. The BREAKFAST was open until 10 and very yummy! Great location as well. Right off the beach and only a short walk from the main boardwalk and shops. Will definitely return. read more

My father's family for about a decade has held an annual reunion in Seaside. I finally was in a position to attend. Check in was very straight forward and the clerk besides the key cards handed me a map showing where my room was and essential information as to the location of the pool, ice machines, vending machines, laundry, etc. She also indicated that the morning continental breakfast is held between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. in the room adjacent to the lobby. Also that each evening at 7 p.m. guests can have fresh baked cookies in the lobby (leftovers are in a container for those who missed out to grab some later). There is also a coffee machine in the lobby 24 hours a day. Very comfortable rooms. The wooden chairs are confining for hefty persons like myself. I was lucky to have one of the rooms with a view of the beach and the ocean. Soda machines take credit cards, a godsend if you don't have cash. Cleaning crew very professional and easy to deal with. The woman who handled cleaning my room, Carley, was always cheerful and did a great job. I gave her a $20 tip the 2nd to last day. Didn't try the hot tub. The sauna has been removed. Pool was fun and they provide lots of towels poolside. Steps to get out are a bit steep. I actually ended up needing assistance but if you are in good physical health it will be no problem. The continental breakfast includes a nice variety including some hot items. A blackboard lists what hot foods will be available on which day. Impressively they have ketchup on the table, the first hotel I ever ran into to offer that. Great way to start the day. A binder is in each room full of useful information, like lists of local attractions, shops and restaurants. Parking can be tricky and especially in the evening you may end up in the overflow area. Location is adjacent to the promenade and beach plus very close to the main shopping and restaurant area. Just be ready for traffic snarls especially Friday as folks from Portland stream in for the weekend. They go the extra mile to provide a pleasant, convenient stay which I very much appreciated. read more

4 star view. 0 star hotel. Initial impression on pulling in was....uh oh...what did we do. Dingy, dirty, folks hanging outside the doors smoking, dirty carpets. I know the ocean is harsh on things, but, this was also neglect and disrepair. I mighta even said 5 star view if the windows weren't filthy, cracked, covered in bird poo. Again, elements are harsh, but, clearly there is no maintenance. Check in was unpleasant with a less than helpful employee. First room we were given had a "separate bedroom" (which we did not ask for/reserve) that was an odd, dank, prison like room behind the door that none of us wanted to be in. Asked for a room change and was moved to a new room. Soon discovered the door didn't lock. At all. Even with the deadbolt on you could push it right open. Back down to front desk, less than pleasant employee was even more less than pleasant. No apologies, no niceties. Nothing. Handyman came up to fix the door and he got it so that it would lock, but it certainly wasn't properly fixed. The room was musty, walls beat up, carpet sticky. The "fireplace" is on a 15 minute timer that CLICK CLICK CLICKS....annoying, but amused the kids...CLICK CLICK CLICK. The bedding and towels were clean and the bathroom itself, though dated was clean. Initial thought is that it's pretty dated. Location is really good. The toilet seat was so gross and warn in my opinion- that it just shows no pride of ownership on some things yet they excel in others or are trying to update here and there. Beds were clean, room was very spacious, breakfast was surprising decent, coffee is good and wifi was good. Again, location is excellent. Seems like some updating is really needed which would make it much better. They serve cookies at 6pm. Pool area is pretty old and worn out IMO but it's a pool and kids won't care. Staff was very nice and friendly, best service. Was a pleasure to be around happy helpful people- the place started to grow on me a little by night 2. Luckily we got this room via a "deal site" and didn't pay as much as most people, but I still felt like it was over-priced, due to the dilapidation of the room, etc. The plus sides: The view was nice (even in our "partial view" room). The staff was nice and friendly. The fireplace was appreciated. The free breakfast was decent. The bad: There is an overall lack of maintenance both inside and out. There were no screens on our windows. There was black mold all over the top of the curtains (which were falling off at parts, too.) The carpets and walls were dirty and dingy. There were missing parts in our kitchen. I think it you see my photos, you'll see I'm being generous with a 2 star rating. We will NOT be back or recommend this place to anyone. read more

Well maintained older property with dated decor. Lovely suites with separate room separated by hallway and bath for privacy. Lovely gas fireplace and baseboard heating under windows to facilitate hours of staring at the promenade, beach and ocean to catch that glorious sunset. My family of 5 loved our stay at Ebb Tide Ocean. The staff are incredibly personable, helpful, and friendly. Jerry took really good care of us during breakfast both mornings. We stayed in an oceanfront three queen room with a kitchenette. The kitchenette was stocked with a few dishes. The room was clean and cozy with a phenomenal view of the ocean. The pool was definitely the best part of the kids' stay. We took advantage of the nearby aquarium, MO's Restaurant, boardwalk, swingsets, and of course the beach to build sand castles. The hotel is pet friendly so we got to bring our German Shepherd, Beau with a minimal pet fee. The breakfast was much more than we expected for continental: cereal, toast, fruit, yogurt, pancakes, eggs, sausage, and potatoes. If you are bringing toddlers, bring some outlet plugs and maybe something to block off the fire place. We used chairs to block things off and it worked just fine. Walmart and other stores are just a 20 minute drive away in case you forget sun screen, beach gear, or need to grocery shop. We will definitely be staying here again! read more

I found this hotel to be reasonably priced with regard to summer time rates. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. I called to request a ground floor as my mother has difficulty with stairs. I was told there were none available, but we would be on the second floor. We would make it work. However, at check in, we were put on the third floor. This would not work. A big thanks to Jennifer as she was able to put us in a ground floor room. This hotel has a grab and go breakfast, cookies in the lobby at six and an indoor pool. Our room, number 123, had a small view of the ocean. The only down side is no air conditioning. There was a fan in the room which helped immensely. This room is also located right by the hotel laundry, which seems to be busy at all hours. Overall, great price for a clean and comfortable room within walking distance to downtown. read more

I'm surprised by the awful reviews. Maybe that was in the past, but nowadays you'll excellent service and clean rooms. The only downside is that walls are somewhat thin. This place is pretty awful. The rooms are incredibly dated and in desperate need of deep cleaning and upgrading. The parking lot is small, crowded, and hard to get in and out of. If you stay on the first floor you'll hear the ocean but you definitely won't see it from your room. The only redeeming quality of this place is that it's directly next to the beach. For the price, it's not worth it. Keep shopping and find a place in Seaside that has been furnished this century and cleaned this decade! My boyfriend and I stayed here a couple months ago and were more than pleased! Initially, he had specifically reserved a room with a view but upon arrival we were told it was a room without a view. When we addressed it, the very kind girl at the front desk put us in a room with a view, that had an extra queen bed, WITHOUT any hesitation whatsoever. From check in to check out, the customer service we received was great! Like most of the other hotels in Seaside, it was pretty old which we did not think would be appreciated... but at the end of the day everything was clean and compared to other hotels, less outdated! Nothing "modern" but no green carpet at least! The fireplace was amazing and waking up to the ocean was a dream. Overall the quality of the rooms I would give 2 stars given they are old but at the end of the day, 3 because they were clean and I felt safe staying in them. Continental breakfast was nothing exciting (I imagine this is due to covid) yet still appreciated and we went every morning for oatmeal, muffins, cereal, juice, coffee, etc. 30 second walk to the beach, 3-5 minute walk to the little strip of fun stores, we even walked to the Safeway which took about 15 minutes I'd say. Do not stay here. I do not recommend at all. As soon as we got here I knew we were in for it. Staff is great. I must warn you, accommodations are awful. Old and musky smells permeated throughout the room. I made sure I wiped everything down with Clorox wipes. We bought febreeze to cut the horrible smell. I didn't want to take off my shoes. Rented a room for 5 nights for my sister and I. On the positive side, this place is right on the beach. It is within walking distance of the shops and things. We asked for a fan for the room and it was brought right up. The staff was friendly. However, I have learned that you can't rely on the reviews on Hotels.com to give you the whole picture as the ratings there were much better than here. As soon as we got into our room, we started looking for another place to stay. The walkways to the elevator were dirty and not well lit. My first thought when walking into it was that it would be a good place to get attacked! The walls needed painting and repair and the carpet was old, dated and, the worst of all, dirty. Not just stained, dirty. Near the elevator the baseboard vinyl had been pulled back and was sticking out. At first glance, the room looked okay. However, it wasn't long before we discovered a wet towel hanging over the shower bar and crumbs on the carpet. Gave us serious doubts about the cleanliness over all. This was a big surprise considering this is in the age of Covid and I expected cleanliness standards to be even better than normal. Parking left a lot to be desired. We started looking for another place to stay as soon as we got into the room. Thankfully, we found a very nice alternative that we could get into the next day. We had a really nice stay here during the storm in early January 2018. Ebb Tide is an older property, so it shows a bit of wear-n-tear that you'd expect with the harsh Oceanside location. While not a sparkly brand-new resort, the property & the rooms are nicely maintained and clean, and I recommend the place. They offer a continental/buffet breakfast each morning in a comfortable cafeteria near the front office: a couple hot dishes (scrambled eggs, country potatoes, sausage), along with a robust selection of bagels, cereal, muffins, ice water, coffee and tea. We enjoyed a swim and soak in the indoor pool & hot tub; the pool was pleasantly warm as we came in from the windy, chilly storm. We stayed in one of the 3 buildings, two of which are on the strand (ocean walkway), so they offer an unobstructed ocean view. Our room had a kitchenette w/ full fridge, microwave, oven & stove, and a gas fireplace. read more

Gross brownish walls? Check. The two queen bed ocean view is really one queen bed ocean view and one queen bed tucked in a dim, dark, closet of a room, concrete view. We had a great time here. The view was wonderful. Seaside is NO Cannon Beach but this is sort of a sweet blue color vacation spot. Roma were clean and a super comfy bread . Service was non existent because of Covid unless you request everything in advance but the staff was friendly . If you want to eat out go early. The restaurants are weird and close really early . Stayed here for a much needed getaway with my mom for two nights this week. We lucked out with amazing weather at the coast (75 and sunny and no wind!) and this place was a great home base while exploring the area. Very convenient that it was right in the heart of downtown Seaside, and it lent a special atmosphere that we looked directly onto the boardwalk and beach. The double queen oceanfront kitchenette room on the second floor worked perfectly for my mom and me. We each had our own space for sleeping but also enjoyed the common amenities between us and especially the chairs by the window looking west at the waves. The hotel was just as I had expected it--the accommodation was modest but consistent and clean. It's an old-ish hotel but thank you Angelica, our room looked clean and welcoming when we entered it and beds and bathroom worked great. Bed was comfortable to sleep in. Check in and out process was super smooth, nice staff. Breakfast was nothing to write home about but did the job. Even on one of the hottest days of the year by Oregon coast standards we didn't need any form of air conditioning or fan, just an open window (screened in thankfully) was more than enough to keep the room cool for sleeping. Only downside really was that the walls were thin, and one of the beds in the suite was right next to a hall area with people coming and going rather loudly. Even aside from the hall we could hear neighbors upstairs and next door, not always considerate of the time at which they were loudly talking! Bring earplugs in case. All in, though, this was great value for money, and I'd stay here with family again. My mom and I will cherish the memory of wandering Seaside by foot from this as our base, and driving around the coast, and our conversations sitting drinking coffee looking out at the ocean from our cozy room. I'm so sad that our family's once favorite beach motel is in such disrepair. We stay here every other year for a big family reunion, which collectively brings thousands of dollars to this motel. We had noticed in the past that it was getting dated and needed some serious love, and this reunion showed us that it's probably time to find a new place to host our group in the future. I'm speaking for all rooms in our group in this review (about 7). They were very dated (I'm talking late 80s/early 90s in some). The microwave in one room was on a shelf that was slanted and about to fall off. All rooms had torn, dated wallpaper. Walls had tons of holes. Lots of scuff marks everywhere. My infant daughter would crawl around and we'd pick her up completely covered in black from the carpet. Lighting looks like it's from the 70s in some rooms. Exterior looks awful, even for a beach motel (I know the climate is rough, but come on). These rooms were not just dated and faded, they were falling apart and broken at times. Just ridiculous really. To add insult to injury, 2 nights cost our group, on average, almost $600 per room. This price is insane for what you get, even if it's a beachfront resort. Finally- the pool area needs some real attention. There are metal hooks coming out of the floor right in the walkway and it's very dangerous. My poor son was getting a towel, snagged his toe on it, fell down and scraped his knees and fell into the pool. He could've broken a bone or worse. Sadly we are done with the Ebb Tide. They have continued to raise prices on our group and haven't put a single cent back into the rooms. read more

Close to the beach and paved beach walk, ocean views. Older cheap hotel not that great but not super bad either. Had to wait several hours for our room to be cleaned. We arrived at 2:45 the same time as our other family members and they got their room at 3:30 and we didn't get into our room till after 5ish. Check in was technically at 4 but other people were getting checked in and getting rooms. They knew we were here and waiting but no effort was made to hurry up and get our room ready. They need to crack the whip on the cleaning staff the stairwell carpets are filthy and everything on the outside public areas has a dirty half assed look/feel to it. The Internet has been awful so far I keep having to log out then back in over and over to get it to work. read more

Here are just a few of the visual problems we encountered on our stay. We were also made to wait an hour after the 4pm check in time & were rudely told, "the check in process STARTS at 4pm until 6pm". While we watched as they checked everyone else in, on time, we checked the policies, there is NO mention of this we could find. The "manager" (not Rachel) had her hands full with another issue where she had made a mistake on their rooms & when she wouldn't/couldn't fix it & they became upset, she told the families they could leave without a cancellation fee (like she was doing them a favor!) if they didn't like it. After waiting an hour, we were finally checked in. On the way up to the room, we couldn't help but notice the lack of maintenance & upkeep, base board by the elevator for example. Then when we got to our room #400 on the 4th floor, we checked out our view, overlooking the roof & vents was the ocean... Immediately we saw something moving on the kitchen counter, ants. So we looked around and noticed the fridge inside was not cleaned, the bathroom sink was not cleaned nor was the jacuzzi tub that we paid extra for. Carpet was not vacuumed, etc... The only saving grace was at check out I asked if there was any consideration for what we had been thru, and fortunately a new face, Rachel, said she was the manager and discounted our bill. I guess the other gal was the manager in Rachel's absence. Please update & repair the building (especially when you charge $200/nite in Aug & peak season). Please check on your staff to see how they treat customers. And if you have a check in policy that STARTS at 4pm & can last til 6pm, please state it in your policies!!! read more

Now I know you see a but coming so third, the rooms need to be remodeled, badly!! Outdated, stained, moldy, peeling. Apparently I didn't warrant a call back when I asked to speak with a manager. I stayed here November 2-4 in room 111 for my son's birthday trip. This was my first and last time staying at the Ebb Tide. Good points: - The location is great - The staff that I actually talked to were nice (although there is one bad point, see below) - The room had a separate bedroom, which is great when traveling with kids, and the whole room was spacious - Having a kitchenette was helpful The bad: - The property is old and the walls allow EVERY sound to come through - The bedroom is on the parking lot side and you will hear every car beeping open and closed, especially on the ground floor - The "view" is of the dunes and people walking by while looking back at you - Our fireplace didn't work The ugly: - The carpet is literally crunchy it's so dirty - One of the chairs had a mystery stain - The heater had some sort of mystery stain as well - Mold in the bathroom - Garbage left in a drawer - Weird staining on the walls - The gap under the door allowed cold air in - A kitchen cabinet door was hanging and was hard to get closed - The inside of the freezer was dirty - There's broken tile in the bathroom and the kitchen cabinets are falling apart along the end - When I pulled back the sheets on the bed in the main room, I found hair in the bed - Oh, and the DIRTY PAIR OF UNDERWEAR THAT WAS NEXT TO THE BED - After finding the undies and hairy bed, I went to the office. Proper customer service would have been to move us into a clean room at that point but that wasn't offered. Maybe I should've been sterner (I try not to be rude to staff, especially in front of my child, and most definitely not to ruin his birthday trip) but seriously this was bad. New sheets were delivered and I made the bed. I've stayed in a lot of places and without a doubt, this was the worst. Never again, there are MUCH better places to stay. read more

Bedrooms come with a gas fireplace ; S'mores! Beds are comfortable and clean. TV is 30 inch....kinda small. The walls need to be repainted/cleaned up and the bathroom door needs to be replaced! The location is great beautiful view of the water. However, housekeeping is not great. We got here and noticed goldfish crackers, and popcorn in easy to find areas all on the ground. We have a dog and a 2 year who kept trying to eat all the food off the ground. I had someone come by and vacuum the room again, but the next day I noticed my dog was chewing a rather large bottle cap! I did let the front desk know and they were able to help me out by comping a couple nights. Unfortunately on our last night there my husband was in the shower and water starting leaking from a hole in the ceiling by above the tub. We will not be staying here again unfortunately. read more

Unfortunately our visit here was not the best and it didn't start out on a good foot. When I arrived with my husband there were three people working behind the counter and I gave them my last name and I asked where the elevator would be located and they told me where our room was but there isn't an elevator. I had called after my reservation and asked if the hotel had elevators because I had a power wheelchair. I would've assumed at that point they would have made note of my reservation that I needed to be in the building with the elevator so that I can access the second and third floor which our ocean view room would be on. The woman behind the counter was very rude and told us well you should've made it more clear and there's nothing we can do about it we are completely booked so do you want to cancel your reservation? There was not an apology for the mixup they basically said we either take it or leave it. Unfortunately all the other hotels were booked so we were left with this one so we said will take it, and they said they would call us when our room was ready, which would be by 4pm check in. It was past 4 o'clock which is check in and we hadn't heard from the hotel so we went over there and asked if our room was ready. They had told us that they manage to get a room in the building with an elevator but it wasn't a king suite it was just gonna be a double queen. I said that would be fine as long as it's facing the ocean like we reserved. She said it was but the room still wasn't ready and that they would still call us when it would become available this was already past 4 o'clock and we asked when it would be ready and she said maybe about 30min. Our room wasn't ready until 545 which is an hour and 45 minutes past check-in time. When we got to our room while the view was nice the room was in pretty poor condition. Paint chipping on the door dirt on the heater and multiple stains all over the carpet. the room was clean it was overall in bad shape. The room that was given to us was right next to the stairway and all night we could hear people going up and down the stairs talking very loud it kept waking us up every hour. You could hear people opening and closing their doors there is no sound insulation whatsoever. The pillows are hard and flat and need to be updated. I won't be coming back here and I wouldn't recommend booking a room here either it's worth it to spend a little bit extra for a nicer hotel with a better staff and sound insulation. Upon arrival we were scheduled for a 3rd floor room--the elevator wasn't working. Changed to 2nd floor. Room was dirty/dusty; mattress hard; fireplace malfunctioned; light bulb burned out; clock set 3 hours ahead. No attention to detail. We paid for 2 nights and didn't check out the 2nd night. We found a more comfortable hotel and checked in there so essentially paid for 2 hotels. NEVER AGAIN! read more
