Echelon Coffee is a really solid coffee spot that clearly takes what they do seriously. The coffee is excellent, and if you go on the weekend, the biscuits and gravy are absolutely worth it. It feels like there's a lot of care behind everything they serve. It also has that feel of a well-run, possibly family-driven operation -- like everyone involved knows their role and executes it well. The vibe is good, the space is inviting, and it's just an enjoyable place to spend some time. Pricing is a bit on the higher side -- more of a "treat yourself" stop than an everyday routine -- but the quality backs it up. I've visited this location a handful of times the last couple years. The coffee is good, the food is good. Service is okay usually, but I came through the drive through around 7 AM on Friday, 2/6 and was very disappointed. I was the only vehicle in the drive through from start to finish. I ordered the açaí bowl, and pulled to the window as directed. I waited a good 7-8 minutes, then the employee opened the window with the card reader and gave me the total. No "hi, hello, good morning," just the total. I waited a few more minutes and then the same employee opened the window and handed out my food without a word. I thanked him for the food and he just closed the window. The customer service was completely absent from the transaction. I don't expect a full conversation, but a simple greeting at the window or "you're welcome" when I got my food would have been nice. I also thought the (at least) 10-minute wait for an almost $14 after tax açaí bowl was a bit much, but I usually don't mind if the food and service is adequate. Not sure if the employees were just having a rough day, but the experience was disappointing at best and at 7 AM it has the potential to set the tone for the rest of a customer's day. This is a really lovely coffee shop with genuinely friendly staff. I loved the simple, clean aesthetic inside--it's a great atmosphere. That said, I just didn't love the coffee. I don't use a lot of syrups or sweeteners, so for me the coffee didn't really stand on its own with just milk. It could totally be a "me" thing--maybe I was having an off taste day--but it just wasn't my favorite. I probably won't try it again, but it's clearly a popular spot, so don't let my experience stop you from giving it a shot. Get here early! The seating is fairly spacious but fills up quickly. The vibe is minimalist and clean. Lots of neutral colors and natural light. The menu boasts something for everyone. The café was very clean, decorated nicely, open floor plan, big windows, and nice ambience. Coffee was decent priced but a little small for being a "large" and the temperature of the beverage was not very hot. Also, I requested cream before our coffee was served, but it was filled to the tippy top leaving no room for cream. However - grateful they were not stingy on filling the cup. I would come here again but if the coffee wasn't freshly brewed, I recommend an Americano or pour over. read more

Ok let's start with customer service! WOW!!! Absolutely amazing, super friendly and helpful. The elderberry tea which is seasonally was very nice. Had a great flavor and I loved the cold foam topping. The coffee was good but it was a little more milky than I would like. I felt like the milk took over in the flavor and that's all I could taste. It was good I just expected a stronger coffee taste. The sandwich was amazing! Bread was soft and perfectly dressed. The turkey and bacon pairs nicely with the greens. A very tasty dish. Will definitely be back to try some of their other items. The shop has great seating indoor and outdoors. They also have a drive thru. If you're in the area, I would recommend it. read more

My boyfriend works at Bass Pro Shops and this place is just 5 mins away! It's super cute and love that it is open late until 8pm too. I had their pb&j with chips one day and the caramel apple chai another which was delicious. There is decent amount of parking and a code to the bathroom so only customers can use it. Plenty of seating and outlets with a tv projector. Would definitely make this my go to spot when I am in town working remotely! read more

Same thing I always get ...everywhere, Iced Mocha, skim, no whipped cream. Echelon Coffee was fair. Probably a medium roast coffee. The faint coffee flavor was over powered by the chocolate. Nice attractive shop inside and out. Easy access on the corner. Fantastic looking pastries. These quality delicious looking pastries have to be a strong contributor to helping the store maintain a 4+ star rating. Outstanding friendly service. Lots of tables. Unfortunately, the abundant useable space invites laptop squatting, which can ruin the vibe of the coffee shop, and reduce the income for owners by occupying customer space for hours. I wouldn't consider myself a coffee snob or addict by any means but the roast from here is delicious. It's probably the best one I've ever tasted - no bitter aftertaste and it's strong. I really enjoy the dirty chais here but I'm sure there are plenty of other delicious drinks. Staff are also very polite and the coffeehouse is a great place to just sit and relax. I came in Monday, November 17th to meet a couple friends for coffee and catch up. At the beginning it was enjoyable. Then a large group of children and parents came in, it was like they over took the coffee shop. We were sitting on the loveseats with the coffee table between us. While sitting there a child stood on the table about to walk across it to the counter height seating. Then we had an adult reach across the coffee table through our conversation. The last straw was three kids telling us to get up off their couch. One flicked my hair and another one sat between my friends and kept telling them to get off their couch. We left and I do not plan to return. This is a meeting place for us we normally enjoy and after this we will be choosing another place. read more

Sweet little coffee shop in walking distance from Doubletree and Fairfield Inn. It is also decently close to the interstate. They have lots of coffee, tea and food options. There are many different seating areas for working, visiting or just having some alone time. They are listed as closed on Sunday on Yelp but that has changed and they were open when we were there on Sunday. I was thankful for this spot as we had four soccer games over the weekend! Been there twice now, at first it has the feel of a yuppie Snootie coffee shop, you know the type where they feel like their coffee is the best on the planet, and God forgives you would question there expertise .. BUT I found that not to be true.. very friendly once you come to know them.. a little different from most coffee shops around, very nice seating and lots of space to work. Coffee is good and they do a good job doing it right . last week when I went I tried the banana muffin with chocolate, and it was amazing.. not sure if it had nuts in it but That would be a plus in my book. We happened to see this while visiting town, and it was only their third day open (soft open). As you can imagine with a new business, there was a slight wait getting items, as they were busy with a functioning drive thru as well. We came back the next day, and everything was flowing even smoother. I can imagine that once they have their grand opening, it will be a well oiled machine. They have decaf espresso as well as alternative milks (almond, oat) - not all coffee shops have these so I was happy to have the options! They also had a number of seasonal favorites that seemed so fun (strawberry mocha anyone?!). As far as food, they have baked goods on display as well as breakfast and lunch items that can be prepared. The space is inviting with plenty of seating and outdoor patio. Love this coffee shop! I stop in when driving through Springfield. Their Chai lattes are the best I've ever had.

This is a great place for good drinks and yummy food. There's one thing I don't get...you can get food here but if you ask for salt the response I have gotten is a questioning look and they say, hesitantly, 'umm yeah.' They go get salt and it's in a plastic cup like a ketchup cup. Now, they have salt in a shaker but they only have one shaker so you can't keep it at your table. If you're a food place, have at least a few salt shakers available especially if your food like the eggs aren't seasoned or salty at all.
